Just thought I'd better kick a new one off...
Another day, another tearful outburst at work! It's getting very embarrassing Is it just me who feels like crying at the drop of a hat? Maybe it's lack of sleep, just not dealing very well with things that would not normally bother me, then something really small sets me off. cried in the toilets for 20 minutes today! Can't even explain why. Is this normal still at this stage?

Hi all, Can I join you?

I'm due 12th June - but will be nearer 4th as having a section.

Derlor - I totally sympathise with the thoughtless comments. I had this a lot with my first baby, in the end I got fed up, and had the following conversation,

girl - "God, you are huge!"
Me - "Well at least I have an excuse"
Then I flounced (well, wadddled) off!

Apparently she spent all afternoon asking people if she was fat (she wasn't) and has never commented on my pregnancy size since!
Brutal but effective!

marylou23 · 26/03/2007 10:45

Love it. YOu could also twist Churchill's words a bit (he was told by some old troll that he was very drunk and he said 'Yes, but I will be sober tomorrow, whereas you will still be ugly)

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 26/03/2007 10:57

Genius redfraggle! That's the kind of comment I would think of 10 mins after the conversation and wish that I'd have said at the time! Welcome!

RedFraggle · 26/03/2007 12:01

Hello MaryLou and Holly(ateb),

My excuse is I was pushed to it! Honestly why people think pregnancy makes it ok to comment on your figure....

I love the title of this thread too, need to get that printed on a T-shirt to stop those random bump gropers!!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 26/03/2007 12:46

Some people are so rude! You wouldn't walk up to a random fat person and say "Gosh you're a bit fat, I'd cut back on the pies if I were you!". People feel they can say what they want to pg people! It carries on though when you have a small baby. People come up to you and say things like "Oh isn't she big/small, is she hungry, is she doing x,y,z yet?" When it is your first you are really paranoid about everything and comments like this can make you worse.

I am soooo bored! Is anyone around? I will share my Mini Eggs with anyone that will talk to me! My dd is in bed and I'm lonely! I can't even go out when she wakes up because I can't walk for longer than 15 mins otherwise my legs will fall off! I am a friendless hermit!

sputnik · 26/03/2007 13:00

Morning all, and welcome to all the newbies.

Daisybump, I am so with you on the house thing, I just can't wait for everything to be back in place and normal again, it really does get you down. I spent a large part of friday cleaning, as they'd finished installing most of the windows. Then most of the weekend recovering from the tiredness and stiffness that caused, and feeling like an old lady etc etc. Then this morning they start knocking a hole for a larger kitchen window, and drifts of dust come in under the door ffs. Why did I bother? Take care of yourself, only 4 days to go til you're off, and hopefully you'll feel better then.

sputnik · 26/03/2007 13:11

Me! I'll have a mini egg please
Did you get yourself a bump support belt thingy yet H&A? If not then you really must, they are a great help. If I go out walking without one now I really feel the difference afterwards.

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 26/03/2007 13:16

What colour? Pink ok? I love the chocolately goodness! Why do they make Mini Eggs in crisp sized packets? Yesterday I ate a whole bag ! It feels like you are eating a bag of crisps and you wouldn't eat half a bag of crisps would you?

I haven't got a bump belt yet, but hopefully dp will get home in time to take me to Mothercare.

I will have a house of chaos soon. The kitchen people are coming to measure and do pics tomorrow. I'm excited, but scared of the mess!

sputnik · 26/03/2007 13:17

Speaking of mini eggs, and as a follow up to Doggus' constipation cure, I can now announce to you all that if you eat at least 130 grams of Lindt mini eggs one after the other you will have no more problems on that score. I thought it was a coincidence the first time so I tried it again for the sake of scientific accuracy.
Plums, bah!

sputnik · 26/03/2007 13:19

Whatever colour's going, H&A

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 26/03/2007 13:21

Oooo, maybe that's why I've been so regular lately! Too much chocolate! I blame the shops for their buy two get one free offers. You can't just buy one you have to buy three!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 26/03/2007 13:21

I lurve Lindt mini eggs! The soft stuff inside is better than any kind of sex!

sputnik · 26/03/2007 13:27

Exactly, the ones that have the colder tasting stuff inside, how do they do that? The white chocolate ones are really good. Will have to pop into the supermarket and get some as I've been virtuously abstaining from chocolate all weekend.
Definitely get yourself a belt thing asap, can you not find one on ebay ?

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 26/03/2007 13:31

How does it stay soft when it's cold and cold when it's hot? It's magic!

Thanks, I didn't even think of ebay! Bit silly of me really seeing as I have an ebay window open in front of me! Just had a look, there's loads on there. Aren't they sexy!! There's one that ends in 8 hours, I shall keep my beady eye on it.

sputnik · 26/03/2007 13:37

They are really sexy, yes and DD burst into tears when she saw me putting mine on the first time. But she is the sensitive kind who has nightmares about her mummy's tights....

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 26/03/2007 13:45

Awww bless her! Tights are quite scary though and so are support belts! My dp will be terrified!

sputnik · 26/03/2007 13:51

We're not even talking about maternity tights here. god knows what she'll do when she sees those

mytwocents · 26/03/2007 14:03

Ahh Lindt..

Hello you lovely, round, cake eating friends!! I've just eaten some wonderful chocolate shortbread from local shop, YUMM
Welcome to the new ladies, this is my first baby too and I am finally feeling human again after 6 months of feeling terrible! Feeling springy today!
Question for Dr Ruth ( derlor) the sex doc, I have been wondering if having an orgasm strengthens your pelvic floor? Anyone? I think yes and seems to make alot of sense....
Having horrid heartburn too , found these chalky tablets called fruitin , better than gagiscon cause that makes me... well...
Foxy I saw that thread with the judgemental woman, tee hee makes me laugh when someone gets cut down to size like that , she was v rude.
I've bought some smock tops from primark , lol at Hattie jaques, I love her and think she's beautiful!
Daisy , you cannot possibly look like Keith! I did laugh, you poor thing! I'm glad you have a sense of humour which hopefully helps you when you're low
H ? mini egg please!

sputnik · 26/03/2007 14:41

Dare you to google it mytwocents , can't weaken them surely.
Lucky you feeling human, I am starting to feel like a hippo. Maybe Hattie Jacques as style icon would be appropriate at this point.

mytwocents · 26/03/2007 14:54

Yes Hattie, good icon. In carry on matron she's very sexy in her uniform, quite terrifying when she's trying to molest Kenneth Williams though, I like that film.
Just going to check out my theory....On line I mean!! Am at work, ahem...

mytwocents · 26/03/2007 14:57

Oh a human small whale sputnik!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 26/03/2007 15:02

((mini egg for mytwocents)) please eat them, I'm going to eat another whole packet otherwise!! I googled the orgasm thingy the other day, couldn't find anything. Very interesting question though, would make pelvic floor exercises v interesting!

sputnik · 26/03/2007 15:08

Well pelvic floor exercises are supposed to improve your sex life, so I don't see why it shouldn't work the other way round.
Btw, am I the only one who, whenever I read the words "pelvic floor exercises", starts doing some as a kind of reflex?

sputnik · 26/03/2007 15:10

H&A, you googled orgasms and couldn't find ANYTHING ? Maybe you have some kind of filter.
