Just thought I'd better kick a new one off...
Another day, another tearful outburst at work! It's getting very embarrassing Is it just me who feels like crying at the drop of a hat? Maybe it's lack of sleep, just not dealing very well with things that would not normally bother me, then something really small sets me off. cried in the toilets for 20 minutes today! Can't even explain why. Is this normal still at this stage?

tee hee hee at Weeble

God, I feel like I've eaten 10 courses, had 2 chicken fajitas for tea. Am so uncomfortable. Please let me have my dates wrong and I don't really have 14 weeks left!!!

bumperlicious · 21/03/2007 21:40

Anyone used a dreamgenii pillow, or can anyone recommend any pillows for sleeping? I've been using a v shaped pillow but it doesn't seem to be working, plus if I turn over it then digs into my back. Urgh so uncomfortable at night, but worried as the only position I seem to be able to sleep in is on my back, but apparently that is a big no no!

Have you had a look at the Blooming Marvellous website? Think I saw a few different ones on there, including a long skinny one you can wrap yourself around. I am using the v shaped pillow, but am sleeping practically upright.

I really want to go to bed, but am too uncomfortable and feeling full still.

How are you doing Bumperlicious? All OK?

hollyandalice · 21/03/2007 22:13

Tankinis are def the way forward! Sexy and not too mumsy, like a swimming costume can be, and they cover a multitude of nasty bits! I bought a black strapless one from Next when I went to Dubai with a support shelvey thingy in. I felt super stylish (apart from my big fat thighs and my milky white skin!). I feel horrid and fat too. My lovely new PJs that I got for Christmas don't fit me anymore and it's made me a bit sad ! I feel much bigger than last time as well, but I think that might be because I am carrying much differently. I'm all round the front with this one, it's really odd. Maybe that's why you feel bigger lilkel, maybe you are just carrying differently.

Those of you with mouse problems it is probably because it has been really warm and now is freezing cold. The rodents have retreated indoors, thank your lucky stars it's not rats!! Hope you catch some in your live traps. Peanut butter is a good bait!

Sleep well xx

Oh dear, its all hitting us today isn't it? Holly and Bumper really hope osteo works for you both, its sounds really uncomfortable. It must make general moving about very painful and tiring so I hope you get some relief.

Lilkel, you poor thing, bless your DH he obviously still thinks you're gorgeous. But you're not alone - I feel completely the same about my thighs - I think even my calves are also developing extra fat and veins urgh! Will I ever wear shorts or a skirt above my ankles ever again I ask?
LOL Foxy (sorry, its not funny really) at the bath/arse story, I feel I am heading that way, my bath is looking distinctively narrow I feel these days.

I am feeling better than this morning emotionally, but still hacking like a bag lady and clutching my side every time. But after speaking to DH about the house, we have both agreed that we will take the house off market and that will try again next year. Some things are just meant to be or not aren't they and its just not our time to move. I can start nesting now Also been to drs again, they have now taken me off the vile linctus and given me antibiotics and increased my inhaler (am asthmatic) dosage too. Hopefully will work.

Am off to have lemon and honey in bath so, if I'm not here tomorrow DH has had to get the builders/firemen in to prise my arse out of the bath!

Night night xx

ps Bumper, never noticed your typos by the way - I'm doing them all the time! But hey ho!

Sorry, girls double clicked dur!

NattyThomasandBump · 21/03/2007 22:58

hi guys!
thomas hasnt slept through for weeks now, so ive been reading but eveytime i go to write he wakes! really not helping with the exhaustion, im so tired at the moment, hes waking me up several times every night. i think its a combination of learning to walk and teething.

also had very painful hips/back so seriously sympathising with others. im carrying all out front this time, and it seems to be putting to much strain on my joints. not being able to sit down and rest as much as id need is possibly another factor, tom is off running away doing things he shouldnt everytime i dare to even look at the sofa.

30 weeks now, cant really be that long to go? surely i have dates wrong i feel like ive been pregnant all my life.

lol @ swimsuit discussion, i was in maternity tankini for about 3 months after tom, but then had to put it back on due to expanding waist from this little one! they are good at hiding a multitude of sins without looking mumsy, though i think im going to need more tummy control this time.

ive got terrible heartburn at the moment, anyone else suffering? ice, pastry, choclate and spicy things seem to be setting it off, funnily enough all the things im craving. (espes the ice... mmmmm)

well speak soon, nice to hear from u trace, sorry to hear about ur tough month emotionally. i remember ur posts just after m/c and really feel for u hun xxx

love to all and lots of bump hugs!

Hello everyone and sympathy hugs all round for back ache, pelvic pain, heartburn, emotional outbursts, mice and prospective bikini wearing . Have I missed anything? I've been quite lucky re. back pain (I credit my lovely fabulous pilates instructor) but heartburn has become a total pain. Doesn't seem to relate to what/how I eat (ie little and often or big meals) - it just crops up randomly and has me doubled over for hours at a time. Then goes again.
Thanks for all your thoughts on glider chairs... now just have to talk DH round (he's back to 'we don't need any more STUFF in this house) and I kind of take his point, but it's so comfortable...
It's snowing here again. I blame my pedicure - as soon as I had it done, the temperature went sub zero so my lovely red nails (about the only part of me I'm happy to have on show right now) have been hidden in sheepskin boots. Pah.
ps, re. bikinis, I'm quite into the 1870s look at the moment - a beach house that transports you into the sea. Or a burka, maybe. OR, and here's an idea, I may just never swim again. I mean, it's over-rated, right?

justbeme · 22/03/2007 09:42

Morning all!
Had my 1st Gp based midwife appointment yesterday (nearly 26 wks) - she was very nice and told me not to go into work last night - cos I'd complained of a "dragging" feeling low down and I was really flushed looking . It was great phoning up work!!
She said it could be a urine infection, but after checking she said nothing showed up, but if I felt like that today then to get an urgent appointment at GP for another uring test - So maybe some of you should get your wee checked out??!! Spent the night on the sofa, but then proceeded to feel very nauseaous and full of air (both ends!!) Ive got work at 1500 today - so I'll see how I feel after Ive walked the Dog.
A collegue at work brought in her 12 day old girl Clara this week - she was only 6lb something - but I was too scared to hold her!!!! She was beautiful, Cant believe we're all going to be popping them out from any day now!!! Wonder who will be the 1st!!

Halle · 22/03/2007 09:43

Hi everyone

Thanks for the feedback. I hear what you say about it not to be delivered in a non-patronising, non-telling-you-what-to-do way. The groups I have run the style is very much just putting up a question like: ? What concerns do you have about becoming a mum? and listing those up on a board and then discussing them and if neccessary adding a few extra's. I then have a workbook that includes tips from other mums and things to discuss with dh. The current format has 4 classes before the birth and one after - but I haven't had a group go through to the one after yet so it'll be interesting to see what they do with that session and if they want more. I have also put together a preparing for parenthood course for couples. Anyway if anyone is curious have a look at lifebeyondpregnancy.googlepages.com/
Thanks for all your comments and goodluck for the birth!

Seansgirl · 22/03/2007 10:16

I'm gonna say bye until next friday/saturday as off in the morning to St Ives. Have just viewed the mammoth task ahead of me of packing and its making by back ache just thinking about it! I make a real fuss about packing, always take too much as I have to take everything 'just in case'.

Anyway, emotinoally, not to bad - check, cough - not as bad as previous night - check, but pulled muscle under bump still hurts when cough. Nevermind, hopefully sea air (and snow/hail) will blast all those bugs away and I shall return bouncing with energy!

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Justbeme, put your feet up and rest and give work a miss, you don't want to have a relapse do you by going back too soon? Hope you feel better soon tho.

How are you feeling Holly and Bumper? Any better? Lilkel how are you too? hope you are all feeling physically/emotionally better. How are the mice Foxy and Doggus? Have I missed anyone? Hope not, sorry if I have.

Better go really, might check in later. I'm going to miss you lot, will have no internet access down there - how will I cope? Don't suppose DD and DH will be impressed if I just popped into an internet cafe for a quick update would they?

Hugs to all for a good week xx

hollyandalice · 22/03/2007 10:47

Have a lovely time seansgirl! Hope it is nice and relaxing.

Hope everyone is feeling better. We all seem to have various ailments! I've got mw at 1.45, so hopefully she'll be able to suggest a cure for my old lady walking disease! Luckily dp can come home and take me, I'd never be able to walk there, I die!

Anyone caught any rodents yet?

marylou23 · 22/03/2007 11:00

For what it's worth, I understand that mice are very picky about where they live and only choose the nicest homes...
Good luck at m/w Holly. Maybe you could get one of those mobility chairs that old ladies drive around town knocking down everyone in their path?

hollyandalice · 22/03/2007 11:04

Oooo good idea! I've always wanted one of those! Maybe I can get a stairlift as well and one of those things that lifts you in and out of the bath! Oh and one of those chairs they sell on the ads during countdown that tilt up when you press the button.
Sorry getting carried away now! I'm so lazy, I'd love to have these things!

marylou23 · 22/03/2007 11:06

me too . And a stick to wave around when you don't get your way...

foxybrown · 22/03/2007 12:24

Hello all - we are all beginning to feel it, huh?

Lilkel, you popped into my head this morning and I had a flashback to when I was pg with DS2, it was SO hard because I felt like I'd been pregnant forever. I didn't get back to 'normal' and physically and emotionally that is hard. Am thinking of you.

Can you indulge me in a 'proud mummy moment' please? Just had DS2's first parents meeting at nursery and I'm bursting with pride! The teacher said such lovely things about my boy, nothing at all negative. I spied on him whilst I was waiting for my meeting, and could've cried it was so lovely to see him doing what he does at school.

Don't know if we got a rodent yet - FPs job to check the trap when he comes home. But he is out every night this week and then away working at the weekend again! Mr Mouse might get a reprive.

Off to make lunch for my truely wonderful children. Big happy sigh.

foxybrown · 22/03/2007 12:26

and hello N, T& B, we haven't 'met' yet, you must be one of the original posters, I'm a late arrival!

I am SO jealous that you are 30 weeks!
seems like such a long way off for me!

hollyandalice · 22/03/2007 12:39

Bless your little boy foxy! It must be lovely when other people praise your babies! I've got all that to look forward to!

Please check your trap every day otherwise you could end up with a smelly dead starved mouse in it! Yuk!

foxybrown · 22/03/2007 12:42

ohh I know and I agree Holly, hence it will have a reprieve until FP is back to conduct his duties. Can't bear the thought of going anywhere near the little rodent (which is why I flick the light switch, stamp on the floor and knock on the kitchen door before I go in - so it can scurry away and I don't have to see it) yuk, am cringing as I type!!

foxybrown · 22/03/2007 12:52

and a Lakeland catalogue through my door! Could today get any better?

Daisybump · 22/03/2007 14:17

hi guys...been super busy at work and home so not able to catch up in any meaningful sense....PMSL at pitta breads and spaniels ears, mine are more like womble snouts at the mo and the only thing stopping them sagging is they rest quite nicely on my bump . god help me when it's gone, they'll be nearly at my belly button. Dh told me the other night that I looked fab but he's not had a lot of it recently so, any port in storm hey....tried to get jiggy the other night (tmi I know) and couldn't find a position that worked and it was all a bit frustrating...felt like I was about to topple off the bed as well which was really disconcerting....hadn't realised how much this bump had grown recently.
Talking of belly buttons, mine hasn't popped...it's a very deep innie...but it's really sore and stretched around the egdes and is quite painful...been massaging bio oil like mad in the vain hope that my stretch marks don't get stretch marks!!

Heartburn/indigestion....I thought I was having a heart attack the other morning driving to work and couln't change gear it was so painful. Ivery nearly diverted via casualty, but just as I came to the junction for the hospital, I let out a massive belch and felt miles better! so glad I didn't...imagine the embarrasment.

Hormones....never felt like this in my life before (someone told me its worse with girls which would figure)...and feel like I could quite happily murder people on a daily basis. It's been an emotional roller coaster from start to finish and just when I think it's calming down a bit, it all goes haywire again....poor DS and DH. Told DS off the other day for chucking his toys around and stomping on them, and he just looked at me sweetly and said "but you do that to things mummy" I felt so ashamed . He also called the childminders neighbours kid "a little shit" and then told the neighbour that that's what mummy says. (I was talking to DH about our neighbours kid who is older than DS and is always mean to him...but didn't know that DS had heard...imagine my shame). and this is all the effect that this pg is having on me....can't wait till it's over, or DH is going to gag me!
Must try harder to catch up...takes too long to post otherwise.

Good luck with the various ailments...not long to go...surely we're all into our third trimester by now?

Seansgirl · 22/03/2007 14:23

Foxy, well done to your little star! Obviously, he must take after your side!

See? when i've got stacks do I just can't help myself, have to just check on what I've missed.

Have been thinking about the homebirth question Foxy since we spoke and have since asked MW who is quite keen, as long as the consultant oks it. But just wanted to ask you Foxy - how many homebirths have you had? (sorry if missed you posting this previously) and what relaxation/ pain relief did you use? And what happens with MWs do you just get randomly whoever is on call? And at what point do you phone them? Sorry for bombardment of questions, hope you don't mond me asking if its too personal please say so, I wouldn't like to cause offence.

Seansgirl · 22/03/2007 14:26

Womble snouts! Tee Hee Daisy

Seansgirl · 22/03/2007 14:27

Least your DH thinks you're gorgeous! My DH hasn't commented, he'd better soon or there will be trouble ahead.....
