Just thought I'd better kick a new one off...
Another day, another tearful outburst at work! It's getting very embarrassing Is it just me who feels like crying at the drop of a hat? Maybe it's lack of sleep, just not dealing very well with things that would not normally bother me, then something really small sets me off. cried in the toilets for 20 minutes today! Can't even explain why. Is this normal still at this stage?

Hello everyone! Still haven't finished my online shop yet! Oopsy! Keep getting bored and saving it and coming back. It's dull!!

When you say "neutralising" lilkel I keep thinking you are making stuff smell nice!!! Can you not go into a CK shop and ask them where your sodding baskets are? You ordered them ages ago! I'm cross on your behalf !!

Seansgirl that's great about your bump size! You can join me in the world of gigantic babies!! At least you can stop worrying now .

I too have been having lager cravings my two cents! Esp it being all sunny and pub garden type weather! Mmmmm..beer!!

Well Daisy, it is grim up North!! I haven't had any chocolate today, my mum doesn't really buy it, so I've been snacking on anything else I can find!!

Going to put dd to bed now, watch neighbours and make my cake! Should be ready by about 3.30 if anyone's interested!!

marylou23 · 16/03/2007 14:01

I have red toes. I have smooth legs. I even have a smooth bikini line - at least I think I have. Difficult to tell, really with a huge great bump in the way . I would say, interestingly enough, that it didn't hurt as much as usual. I'm putting it down to marvellous hormone thingies that Nature has invented to diminish the pain of childbirth, and please don't tell me any different!! Oh, and the sun's out again and the cat is stretching out in the garden and I SO want to go and join him. Work schmurk.
Cake at 3.30 sound good, though. We won't mention the tunnocks tea cakes I've just guzzled...

Daisybump · 16/03/2007 14:05

My bump is really achey across the top and around the sides....anyone else feeling this. I don't remeber it with DS, but it was five years ago...so.
Slept so soundly the other night that I woke up in exactly the same position I'd gone to sleep in which was great. more nights like that please...
Holly, would love to join you for cake, but unfortunately have to get back to work and can't eat the bloody stuff anyway. I'll have a virtual flapjack with you though
Have a good and fruitful mothers day everyone and I'll catch up next week....1st timers, I hope your DPs are treating you to an 'almost' mother's day as it's a long wait from June till next year, but some of them might just make father's day this year!!
I had DS at the end of May and had almost a full year to wait, whereas DH got his father's day three weeks later!! Have fun xx

Daisybump · 16/03/2007 14:10

Lilkel...like your neutralising...just painted my bedroom walls Crown 'ivory cream' which is the colour of expensive vanilla ice-cream (but without the flecky bits of vanilla pod) and looks delicious. Meaning to paint the wardrobes a pale lilac, but thinking it might spoil the effect. Sun was streaming in the other morning and it was just lovely. Made me wish I could curl up on the bed and go back to sleep in the sun.

sputnik · 16/03/2007 14:41

Mytwocents, nice to see you - they were virtual canoli, my wieght gain has been frightening so god know what would happen if I started buying the real thing Anyway, help yourself to as many as you like. I've been having the odd glass of wine lately too, not every day as DH is not drinking either but I was told by my gynae 1 a day was fine, especially later on. I've been having horrible ligament pains too under the bump and inner thighs for a few weeks now, I finally got around to digging out this support belt thing I got last time, basically a giant piece of elastic, and it has really made a difference, so I recommend that if it gets too bad. Last time I wore it for a while until my body adjusted, then didn't bother towards the end.

Seansgirl, glad to hear your bump is measuring better, I'm sure they have growth spurts just like after they're born. I was thinking about your nightmare btw, if the worst happens and MN disappears I will set up a website www.touchamybumpsmashayourface.com and we can all find each other again. There, I bet we will all sleep easier tonight knowing that .

Foxy, hope your DD is feeling better, it's horrible when they go all listless. I've only seen my DD like that once and it was frightening.

hollyandalice · 16/03/2007 14:45

Cake is in the oven and washing is hung out and dry washing put away and dishwasher is on! I'm such a good daughter! I don't need to buy my mummy a mother's day present now (maybe I will really)!

Daisy IKWYM about mother's day. I missed it with my dd (she is a may baby too). Your ds must be almost exactly a year older than my dd!

Cake should be about an hour as have to wait for it to cool to put the cream and jam in...I'm really excited. I love cake!

foxybrown · 16/03/2007 14:51

Hello everyone! Sounds like you're all perky and bright

Took DD to drs today. She's still vomiting and pooing, but asked for strawberries and they stayed down. In the drs surgery she started crying for fish and chips (she is only 2.4 - the boys didn't know what a chip was at that age - food facist that I was). Dr said she's not dehydrated, keep on going and bring her back monday if no better. Dr said give her the chips, stodge would be good. So by 10.30 we're in [whisper] macdonalds and shes eating chips and ketchup. Don't tell anyone, will you? Its the first time I've been with one of the kids, much to the amusement of my friends who regularly threaten to take them. She's asleep now, so fingers crossed she's on the mend.

DD2 is doing a Michael Flatley on my cervix. Really winded me in Boots.

Now, what's this 'grim up North' all about? Surely it can't be that bad? PLEASE tell me its not, as am faced with the prospect of moving to Manchester in the future. Only thing I really know about it is the term 'rain capital of the North'. Tell me its not so.

DS2 gave me his mothers day card he made for me at school today. Eyes filled with tears.

Holly, Asda is OK, but was never keen on their fresh produce. Apparently quality can be quite regional, so further North which generally are Morrisons/Asda country are good, whereas Tesco is rubbish, and the reverse down south. If I were super organised I'd get an Asda delivery monthly with all branded products as is SO much cheaper, and then I could justify weekly Ocado deliveries of fresh stuff. But Anthea Turner I am not. No matter how hard I try.

Are Tunnocks teacakes the new Krispy Kremes then?

All your decorating stories make me think you are very brave. I learnt never to decorate whilst pregnant when 8.5 months pregnant with DS1, I decided to paint my bedroom sugar almond pink. took me an entire day (alone). Woke up at 6.30am the next day and did the whole lot again in white immediately.

Sorry, this is so long! Can you tell I've not had any company for a day or two??!!

hollyandalice · 16/03/2007 15:01

Glad your dd is feeling a bit better!! Lol at maccie d's! I've always noticed it being really cold up North, sorry!! I went to uni in Liverpool and it was always bloody freezing up there. I didn't last long. We go to Leeds quite often as dp's grandma lives there and it's cold there too!! I suppose you get used to it after a while!

Seansgirl · 16/03/2007 15:06

Sputnik! I will sleep like a baby tonight knowing that I will be able to find you guys (girls) if all goes tits up with MN!

Thanks guys re. the bump, am quite happy to join you in the big baby stakes Holly, as long as I don't end up with my maximum predicted weight of a 10lb baby!
Meanwhile, tea at yours sounds great, must be my turn next week, will think of something yummy to bake. Maybe another chocolate cake (will put the flowers on for us tho!) if this one is nice, it was just as easy to mix as thought. However, I have now got to face icing it with DD helping this afternoon given the mood she has been in today I am thinking this could be a mistake! Hopefully, she will be in a better mood when she wakes up.

Lilkel, its good to hear you're straight back to into it after your hols! Sorry to hear about Cath 'really don't have any idea about customer care and speedy delivery' Kidston, I did have the same with my bag. It is a shame really that they are so unreliable, maybe if I need anything else I might visit Selfridges and get it there! Good luck with the neutralising!

Off to unpack my Tescos delivery and weigh out icing ingredients (thus cutting down extra potential stress and mess with DD later!)

hollyandalice · 16/03/2007 15:08

BTW look at this thread. I PMSL at the t-shirt logo about 4th post up!! I want one!!

Seansgirl · 16/03/2007 15:12

Foxy, xposted. Good news about DD! I am exactly the same about (whisper - Macdonalds). But, in situations like this I think you're absolutely right - at least shes eating something Hope she makes a speedy recovery soon

Seansgirl · 16/03/2007 15:21

Me too Holly! It still amazes me what people say to you when prg. DDs teacher said to me this morning "What happened to your cheek, have you banged it?" to which I said "No, actually it is a skin condition that flares up when I am prg" (it is rosaeca - very blotchy/red cheeks and according to sking spec. only antibiotics will work that you cant have when prg or if there is a poss you might get prg) Told my GP this morning when she asked me about any prg side effects. Her face was "People are so rude - wait til they touch your tummy without asking!" i just smiled and agreed.

hollyandalice · 16/03/2007 15:31

Bugger, shit, bollocks!!! I have just gone to fill my cake and there is no bloody jam! The closest thing I could find was marmalade, I hate marmalade! I'm going to cry ! Also the dog has rolled in something disgusting and I'm going to have to bath her now! My good day's gone all wrong!

I'm going to eat Wotsits now, anyone for cheesy snacks?

marylou23 · 16/03/2007 15:40

Poor you! Mind you, for me that's what always happens when I take it upon myself to do something domestic. The first meal I ever cooked DH was this huge palava - I really wanted to make something nice, so I had it all planeed out, then I got home from work, realised I'd lef the recipe on my desk, got a collegue to fax it to me, then spent two hours on 'Chicken and Apricot with rice.' It was only when we'd finished it that he said 'Really nice. Just one question: where are the apricots?' Immediately went bright red and realised that I'd bought them, peeled them, chopped them up... then left them on the side. LIke DH says, 'it's a good thing I didn't marry you for your domestic prowess...'

hollyandalice · 16/03/2007 15:45

Well at least I've bathed the dog now! She stunk!!

sputnik · 16/03/2007 15:56

Good to hear your DD is on the mend Foxy. Don't worry about the chips, at least she ate something. When my DD was on the mend from strep all she ate for 3 days was chocolate biscuits and milk. Normally I don't allow biscuits in the house (as I'm quite capable of eating an entire packet in one go)

foxybrown · 16/03/2007 16:16

lol marylou!

domestic prowess is something I am desperately trying to acquire

Holly, all your washing, drying, washing the dog and baking ....more Anthea Perfect Housewife? (See alternative thread which includes a link on how to fold a fitted sheet, invaluable)

notsolilKel · 16/03/2007 18:08

LOL at chicken with apricots...spent absolutely AGES selecting a gourmet recipe (Pork a l'orange) for my DH (whilst dating) and then more bloody AGES preparing it lovingly, serving it carefully, etc etc only to have him inform me at the end of the meal that he 'doesn't really like oranges, but it was nice." We've never eaten anything with orange flavour in it since!!

foxybrown · 16/03/2007 18:14

We were always too busy getting wild to eat

Ohh, how things have changed - its the exact opposite now!!

foxybrown · 16/03/2007 20:06

Arse. She's been sick again

hollyandalice · 16/03/2007 20:24

Awwww bless her! Hope she gets some sleep tonight.

I'm worried about bumper. She posted this thread earlier and hasn't come back on. Hope she's ok.

Finally finished my cake! My mum picked up some jam on her way home. It was yummy! Am back at home now, which is nice. It may be messy and bear a passing similarity to a jumble sale, but it's home!

foxybrown · 16/03/2007 20:32

poor bumper. hope she's ok. she'd've got herself to antenatal clinic wouldn't she?

So, when's your DH back?

hollyandalice · 16/03/2007 20:37

I hope she's gone in to see someone, they may have made her stay in for monitoring or something.

We are all back home now. He was only away for one night, it was supposed to be two, but it got changed. I missed him (but not his snoring!!). When's yours back?

foxybrown · 16/03/2007 20:41

late tomorrow night. Its been a tough week. He's made me some big promises for Mothers Day. Hope he can deliver

hollyandalice · 16/03/2007 20:50

At least he's home for Mother's Day. He can look after your poor dd whilst you get some sleep. That'll be the best present ever!
