Just thought I'd better kick a new one off...
Another day, another tearful outburst at work! It's getting very embarrassing Is it just me who feels like crying at the drop of a hat? Maybe it's lack of sleep, just not dealing very well with things that would not normally bother me, then something really small sets me off. cried in the toilets for 20 minutes today! Can't even explain why. Is this normal still at this stage?

Frankly I think my perimneum is going to start getting ideas above its station, what with regular massages with nice smelling oil and a bikini wax (booked for tomorrow. ouch). Still, better pamper it now before it discovers what it's in for in June...

sputnik · 15/03/2007 11:16

Me too!
My DD love helping out too, though it usually means the most unholy mess.

I'll have anyone's unwanted x-rated dreams, though I've never seen Tikkabilla so not quite sure what I'd be letting myself in for. Blind date eh?

hollyandalice · 15/03/2007 11:18

Have you used it yet? I would get dp to do mine, but he'd get all sorts of ideas! Bikini wax...ooouch!!

hollyandalice · 15/03/2007 11:18

Hey sputnik! Gingerbread cookie in the shape of tubby toast?

sputnik · 15/03/2007 11:20

Yeah, give it some pampering and maybe take a picture as it'll never be the same again.

sputnik · 15/03/2007 11:21

Yea please.

hollyandalice · 15/03/2007 11:22

PMSL!! Take a picture!! Prob a good idea ! You can give it to your dh to remember you by!

hollyandalice · 15/03/2007 11:23

BTW this is Paul from Tikkabilla!! Quite fit, but a bit straight laced for me! He wasn't so straight laced in my dream though!

sputnik · 15/03/2007 11:27

Hmm quite nice but he looks young enough to be my son, had I got round to having kids when I was more your age

sputnik · 15/03/2007 11:29

Better pop off, as I promised myself I'd do some exercise this morning, especially after the gingerbread and hob-nobs. See you later.

hollyandalice · 15/03/2007 11:31

Exercise is for the weak!! Have fun!

foxybrown · 15/03/2007 12:26

ooh, me! I had a dream! The guy who plays Sam in Life on Mars. Not really my type, but he was hot in the dream. Oooh, must remember this is a public post!

Yes, I did some massaging 'down there' with good old Vit E oil. Did it work? Probably not, but I haven't had stitches yet. Mind you, I might have an enorm .... lets leave it there.

It might help to be supple there, but IMO I think it has more to do with the midwife. She'll ease the baby out. That's where the panting comes in I think, it focusses you on not pushing until she's ready.

My poor baby girl is still so unwell. 3rd night of no sleep, still not eating, still throwing up and runny bum now too. Beginning to worry

justbeme · 15/03/2007 12:39

Hi all! See Ive missed all the cakes again!
Its sunny here in Hertfordshire - been out with the Dog for a walk (still abit nippy though)
With my last pregnancy I took part in a trial thingy of using almond oil on my Peri whatsit, but to be honest, I dont think it helped much - I remember on my birth plan stipulating in Capitals "PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME IF YOU HAVE TO CUT ME" , so thats why the midwife said "Right Im going to cut you now!!!!!!!!!!"

btw Hollyandalice - I dont know why but in my head I imagined you about 5ft4in tall and petite!! Its been abit of a shock to hear about your size 9's - how tall are you then??

hollyandalice · 15/03/2007 13:15

Awwww!! Foxy your poor baby! Hope she gets better soon!

Lol justbeme!! I'm flattered! I'm 5'10" with long legs and big feet!!

Seansgirl · 15/03/2007 13:32

Oh no! I missed tea and biccies! aawww!

Sorry to hear your DD is still not well poor little thing, hope she feels better soon.

LOL Justbeme at your virtual little Holly! Though, she is little to me I'm 6ft2" ! Its funny how we must all have mental images of everyone on here, mine changes from day to day depending on what anyone posts - its a bit like a puzzle - except in most cases I'm sure we're completely wrong!

Foxy, Sam from life on Mars, now you're talking not the best but a bit more of a 'man' than Paul with TK (not that hes ugly Holly) just a bit of a 'boy'!
Feel free to borrow any of my x-rated dreams Sputnik, I can highly recommend the one where ........blah blah lets just say I woke up and thought "bugger I was enjoying that" and tried to get back to sleep to finish it. But it was gone.

foxybrown · 15/03/2007 13:41

just made the huge mistake of 'googling' DDs symptoms. Waiting for Dr to call again. sure she's ok, but 3 nights of no sleep is taking its toll a bit. bloody buggering bastard arse DP. Never around when I really, really need him.

thanks for the kind words. xx

hollyandalice · 15/03/2007 13:51

Hope your gp rings soon.
xx

Daisybump · 15/03/2007 14:05

Foxy...see if you cna get her to drink some fluids. Home made re-hydration fluid is (but you better check this somewhere with a grown up)....1 pint of water with 1Tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon salt.....my DS won't touch it with salt in so I only put in the sugar usually....hopefully she'll be feeling better soon....it's horrible when they are poorly.

Been told by DS school that it's a red themed non-uniform day tomorrow for Comic Relief....don't know if that extends to red hair, but I've got some red hairspray anyway...he's really really blond so it goes an alarming colour......hope it doesn't get him sent home

Does anyone know how the mediation went the other day....the fact that we are still up and running must be good???

BadZelda · 15/03/2007 14:59

R.e. Perineal massage...My midwife gave me a bottle of plain old almond oil to use last time...which I managed to get around to using about twice. Managed to get away with just a 'graze'...but that was maybe due to babba being a teensy bit early and only 6.5 pounds. Still can't hurt to try can it? You don't need expensive oil - just standard almond is fine, which is super cheap from the chemist.

BadZelda · 15/03/2007 15:08

Hello everyone!

Anyone having concentration issues? The gorgeous weather outside isn't really helping at all....stuck in an office prostituting myself to corporates so I can afford a good whack of time off (self-employed you see)... I do miss working at home with my lovely garden and chilled studio...

How late are all you employed mums to be working? I'll be slaving away up to week 38 - though the last month I'll try and make sure it's at home. What about you?

r.e. Midwife appts: I'm having my third tomorrow...this was partly cos it took me 5 months to get assigned to a midwife. I think if you feel fine in yourself there's no need for loads of them. And certainly in Lambeth they're so stretched that it's probably best not to take up too much of their time.

marylou23 · 15/03/2007 15:29

Oh my God, I am totally having concentration issues. Huge ones. I also work for myself and have been seriously struggling all week... I do blame the sun, mostly. I always find it hard to work in the summer . In terms of stopping work, had hoped to get everything out of the way by beginning of May (am due 18 June, but doctor wants to induce one or two weeks early because of a blood disorder I've got...). However, this is looking increasingly unlikely, so am probably going to be working up till last minute... At least don't have to commute or sit in anyone else's office, which makes it a lot more bearable.

notsolilKel · 15/03/2007 15:29

aaaaauuuuuuuggghhhhhhhh

what year is it? why is the sun shining? Is this really Britain???

I'm confused...

...and as usual I've solved my problem by, yes, shopping. This time it's Next. Evil directory arrived with the very rug I was thinking of (natural colour, wool berber). Need something with more cushion in the lounge, now that DS is falling over at every opportunity, and our floors are cold hard wood. Funny how when he was a wee baby I worried about fluffy carpets suffocating him . That's one for the "precious" list!!

I'm generally on a big mission of late entitled "must neutralise everything in the home." No patterns, no colours, no clutter... Why? Why? If I could paint everything white I would be in heaven right now...odd, no?

sorry I missed the tea party too! mmm Tunnocks. very nice.

sorry brain not engaged yet, will check back later. ((group hug to everyone))

marylou23 · 15/03/2007 16:12

Tunnocks Tea Cakes. Something that delicious just can't be wrong. And why is one never enough? (Tentatively hands them round, hoping desperately that no one will take one, then realises has become evil chocolate-hoarding monster and buries head in shame)

doggus · 15/03/2007 16:35

I am taking dh to Waitrose in the next hour 'to buy fizzy water and salad' (aka Tunnock Tea Cake Purchase Mission).
