geordiemacminx · 28/02/2007 11:40

CaptainDippy · 28/02/2007 11:40

CaptainDippy · 28/02/2007 11:42

That's nothing, GMM, last year my friend carried twins to 41+6. They were 8lb and 7lb 2oz respectively AND she had them naturally!!!!! >

Sorry 1B3!

1becomes3 · 28/02/2007 11:45

I'm glad that i don't have to worry about that I will be having mine at 38weeks no more than that.
But I'm sure that if oooggs reads that it will put the shit's up her!

Birdiebump · 28/02/2007 11:49

Wow Octopussy - let us know how the scan goes!! I'm not seeing my consultant till 37 weeks when they will hopefully finally decide whether I can have LO at midwife unit. Will beg for scan but not holding out much hope so will prob have to wait till she comes out, they all say "oh dear god" and put her on the scales.....

Eddas will let everyone know, no doubt!

No way can I make Baby Show but sounds like brilliant fun, so enjoy, whoever is going, and let us know of any cool new products etc....

Hellcat · 28/02/2007 11:50

Hi Pesha, I am new to the madhouse, 34, married to student teacher, live in Derbyshire expecting first lo on 11th April and last hour and 45 minutes at work from now!

Maveta - we fancied Spain as we wanted to live in a close community with strong family values - which was f'ing stupid as 1000's of miles away from our own mums and dads...durrrr

and tbh, we wanted to live in the country but still need things like broadband, and rural Spain just too rural - or wrecked by Brits on giros.

Do you have a job out there, and where are you?

maveta · 28/02/2007 11:59

Have you all seen consultants? I haven't seen one at all. It's been midwife (cow) all the way except for my scans which were just the scan-man. hmmmm.

Got another midwife appt this pm so brace yourselves for another rant about how she went on and on and on about my weight...

Hellcat - I'm in Mallorca and I work in stills production i.e. organising photo shoots. It's a pretty hectic (in summer) but overall pretty cool job. I guess it sounds like you guys did go rural RURAL rural.. I mean, we live in a village in the country but we are still only 25 mins from the city (yes there's just one..) and we have broadband (it's even wireless!!) so I can imagine you must have had quite a shock to the system.

Hellcat · 28/02/2007 12:09

well Maveta, organising photo shoots in lovely Mallorca sounds like a fab job!

Why is your MW a cow?

I haven't seen a consultant either - although there has been a bit of hospital doctor and GP interest in my heart murmur

muminabigtumi · 28/02/2007 12:25

Morning ladies

AngeG - Happy Birthday my lovley!
So very jelous of all you who are on your last day of work....I can't beleive I have another 4 weeks to go........really wish I had started it sooner now.

Sorry not been posting much - finding it a real struggle to keep up at the moment - just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day and I feel guilty being on when I feel I should be doing something constructive with James.

Feeling like a bad mummy full stop really....I lay in bed asleep whilst he watched Milkshake TV on Channel 5 from 6.30 till 8am this morning - I just could not get out of bed...

I had a better nights sleep last night - Maveta - the pillows I agree definatley help!

CD - have a lovley afternoon - I could do with some R&R too - I think I will do similar on Saturday as Phil is taking James out for the day to give me some time off - can't wait!

At least I have tomorrow and Thursday off - although being pressured to go into work as someone is off sick...makes me mad - if I was "away" on holiday they wouldn't ask me so just because I am staying at home for a couple of days why should that make a difference???

Sorry - I'm grouchy today!
xxx

Smole · 28/02/2007 12:38

IB3 - I'm due on 13th April and hopefully be having a hospital birth. AngeG says I can join her and Isabellymoi for a 3some

Hensden - I live near Maidstone. Although I chose Medway for my hospital as I had the choice.

MIABT - I'm at work until the 30th March, although my boss was asking me today if I'll last that long.

Bramshott · 28/02/2007 12:41

MIABT - just wanted to post and empathise with you over the bad mummy feelings. I feel like I have this massive "to do" list before the baby comes, and any spare moments I get, I am trying to cram my way through that rather than spend time with DD - who ends up in front of a DVD again. She keeps asking me if we can do stuff, and I say "oh yes, we'll do that later", but then get distracted and there seems to be so much else to do. And then I kid myself I will spend more time with her once the baby's here and I don't have to work, but I know that that is fantasy-land really!

Eddas · 28/02/2007 12:45

Smole where do you live? I'm in East Farleigh

AngeG · 28/02/2007 12:50

Bramshott and MIABT - I totally agree with you both about the bad mummy thing. As I said last week Jake is watching loads of DVDs at the moment because I either have things I need to get done and prepared or I'm simply too tired to do anything with him Think we just have to face that we cannot be as perfect as we once were
Try not to feel bad.

MIABT - Don't feel pressured into going into work. You are entitled to time off.

CD - Have a lovely afternoon Make the most of it.

Eddas · 28/02/2007 12:54

I'd just like to add that i too feel bad as dd is watching loads of dvd's and i can't play with her as she'd like me to. But lets face it we are not up to running around and chasing them etc so i'm trying not to dwell on it too much. I'm just sad for her as she doesn't understand why i can't do these things and me telling her i will be able to soon doesn't really help as she's too young to understand.

Thank goodness for dvd's and cbeebies

Smole · 28/02/2007 12:56

Eddas - I live in Sheerness (someone has to)

YvieE · 28/02/2007 13:09

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AngeG - Hope you are having a lovely day.

Hellcat - have i missed you yet? If i haven't to you GMM and Eddas have a wonderful last day...roll on maternity leave.
Even although I'm happy for you I am totally of you, I don't leave until the 23rd March.
CD - you deserve a little "me" time, since last week you have being rushing around being supermum, any pics of the cake yet?.

PS Excuse the bold names - just worked out how to do it!!!

maveta · 28/02/2007 13:12

Hellcat - because she's had a couple of goes about my 'ridiculous' weight gain (was 62kgs at start which is fine at 5'7 and at last check had put on 11kgs). Not going to say anymore, am determined NOT to wind myself up in advance...

Who reckons I'll be successful at that??

1becomes3 · 28/02/2007 13:15

Alright then smole if you want to join angeG and isabellymoi, thats good.
Bubblez you can be Pesha's buddy.

All you have to do now is email your details to ellie: [email protected]

Pesha · 28/02/2007 13:24

MIABT - I do that every morning!! Well not every morning but most mornings when dd and ds wake up they come in and ask if they can go downstairs and then come downon their own and watch tv orplay while i stay in bed and doze for an hour or so. Sometimes dd even makes their breakfast which she loves doing and if not they help themselves to fruit. I do feel guilty soetimes but they're both perfectly happy doing it and it helps me wake up that bit more slowly so im less grouchy when i do get up.

Eddas, smole, hensden (think thats the right people!) - I was born in maidstone! Lived in larkfield til i was nearly 8 but been in somerset ever since.

1b3 - my due date is 16th and i am planning on nice easy straight forward birth in hospital (am seeing hospital stay as a mini break, get me away from screaming kids and housework for a night or two, cant wait!! ).
My tumble dryer is giving up on me at mo so have started looking around on internet for a new one and came across clearance comet site. They have ex display models and reconditioned models etc for sale by auction. They list all problems and quite often its brand new just with a scratch on the side which generally doesnt matter anyway as most appliances you only see the front. And it all comes with a years guarantee. Delivery is a standard rate of about £25 i think but just take that into consideration when you bid. I haven't actually bid on anything yet, im just watching at the mo to see if people really are getting as good a bargain as it seems but so far looks pretty good.

CD - was scanning through some of the old threads ive missed last night, didnt get very far but did see you passed your driving test - yay!! Congratulations! Have you done much driving since? I passed my test in july and at first felt like i never wanted to drive a car again!! Am much more relaxed now but still get bit nervous driving dps car as its so low and wide and worth about 4 times as much as mine!! And getting in and out of it is getting increasingly difficult, coupes are not designed for heavily pregnant women! It is good fun though once we out on more open roads!!

I have completely lost track opf what position my baby is in, he moves so much at the mo. I think he's head down now but seems to change every few days, he's a wriggly little git!! Think he's gonna be pretty big too although not huge. Dd was 8lb, ds was 8lb 5 but both were long and both had big heads Reckon this one could be approaching 9lb. And im in a bit of a frenzy at the moment buying everything and trying to get everything ready and organised. Dont know if its a subconscious sign that babys coming early and im nesting or if its just me after not having done very much for a few weeks thinking shit not long now and going into overdrive!!

weeonion · 28/02/2007 13:40

pesha - you tried free share. i know that on the glasgow one - people are always offering up their white goods - usually when they get their kitchen redecoratd so not much wrong with them??

CaptainDippy · 28/02/2007 13:51

They're gone!! Yippee!! Think I'll have a bath with a book and hot choc ......

mmk · 28/02/2007 14:22

Birdie bump
we have one Ds (treasure of my life!) who is 2 years 9 months. After many years of heart ache and agony, we got lucky!. We had both sucessful attempts with a clinc in Russia- (having tried all that the UK and Spain had to offer)how cool is that? The clinic was fab and dirt cheap. We were treated like royalty.

I am so, so thrilled that I will get to be a mummy all over again.

You've got nice age gaps with your children, that should make life easier...

Are you still at work?

mmk · 28/02/2007 14:24

arr, yes Hellcat..I was just a beginner to potty training, and one day DS said 'quick quick potty' so I took him there. I could smell a chocolate sausage, I could hear it, I could sense it, but I just couldn't find it anywhere. Eventually I found it, lurking in his trouser leg. So, now I know where to look...

geordiemacminx · 28/02/2007 14:31

Hey you lot.

I'm back after picking car up and buying cakes for all at work for last day... honestly I annouced there were cakes on my desk, you've never seen a bunch of grown men get up so fast!!!
