I'm so sorry, hoping.

I had my private early scan today. I'm 6+5 by my dates and measuring at 7, with a nice strong heartbeat. The lady was lovely and said baby is in best possible position where it is and it all looks well. There's a cyst on my left ovary but hopefully that should dissolve soon, and she said there would be back pain and a stretching feeling when that happened so reassured me not to panic. We got 4 photos and a report - well worth £50 just for the peace of mind.

We've told in laws this morning and will be telling my parents this afternoon.

I have my EPU scan on 28th so hopefully only another 2 weeks until I see baby again!

TinySalmon · 13/02/2017 11:58

10storey that's great news!

Harriet I'm only 4+4 today too and all I have is cramps (really bad ones too!!). Have been googling like a maniac and apparently it happens to some women although don't remember them being so bad last time. Bought two clear blue digital weeks tests that should be delivered later today so will poas and hopefully see some reassurance!

Lamaitresse · 13/02/2017 12:21

10storey oh that's brilliant, you must have been so relieved to see a little heartbeat!

Tiny like you I'm panicking - am 5+6 today and woke in the night with such a heavy achy feeling at the bottom of my tummy. Got dh to take the kids to school so I could have a bit more rest but am stressing madly about it. Still got all symptoms though 🙏🏼

We have our first scan on Thursday morning, just desperately hoping it'll be good news!

Hoping so sorry to hear about your cp, it's just horrible I know 😢 Here's hoping that you'll be back stronger very soon x

Lamaitresse · 13/02/2017 12:24

Ps Tiny think it's normal to get cramps like period pains in first week or so after you would normally get af... I'm only worried because mine went away but seem to have come back again 🙈 Pregnancy is a constant worry though isn't it, especially having been through a previous loss/losses. Fingers crossed for us all!

fairraid · 13/02/2017 12:24

Are we still allowed to use bleach to clean with during the first trimester? My cousin told me last week that the fumes are not good and to avoid using during the first trimester.

Lamaitresse · 13/02/2017 12:27

I wouldn't fairraid, it's just not worth the risk. Could someone else do what you need to do when you're not there for a while?

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 13/02/2017 12:36

Sorry about your loss tinysalmon. Have you had immunology tests too? I'm trying to be positive. I got a 2-3 weeks on a clearblue digital today (and I'm 4w +1 based on left side ovulation/4w based on right side) and I have never got past 1-2 weeks on the digitals with the early losses so am trying to believe this may end better. Have a location scan booked for a week today. Will be glad to see if it's one or two in there and more importantly that it/they are in the right place. Then my only worry is chromosomes and there is nothing I can do re that, just down to fate then!

fairraid · 13/02/2017 12:38

dh is away on work at the moment. I only want to put some bleach down the loo. I had stopped using it but apparently there is a shigellosis vommiting bug going round here. Loads of people i know have gone down with it.

Lamaitresse · 13/02/2017 12:42

Maybe hold your breath then get out the room fast fairraid?!

Congrats Loopy hope everything's in the right place and progresses as normal!

doomkittycleo · 13/02/2017 12:47

I read bleach is ok, as long as the room is well ventilated.

fairraid · 13/02/2017 12:50

My domestos bottle doesn't seem to suggest not using it when pregnant on the precautions list on the bottle Confused I did buy some ecover stuff but it doesn't say anything on the bottle about killing germs. Hows everyone else managing to clean the loo? Blush

MrsCharlieD · 13/02/2017 13:00

I bleached our toilets last time and will continue to do so this time. Just open the bathroom window x

donkey86 · 13/02/2017 13:23

Anyone else finding their symptoms are getting weaker not stronger? I'm 7+6 (I think) and I had been having nausea, breast tenderness and fatigue but the last couple of days I've been feeling fine - which is quite a worry! I'm a bit tired, but everything else has gone. DH thinks I should be please to be feeling well but I just feel it's a bad omen...

fairraid · 13/02/2017 13:29

I'm a paranoid damstrel at the best of times let alone first time pregnant.

@donkey - i wouldn't worry about the sickness symptons fading away. I'm sure if there was a problem you'd know about it in a more sure fire way. I wasn't sick on friday and thought maybe my sickness had stopped but nope, saturday, sunday and today normal puking service was resumed Sad

donkey86 · 13/02/2017 13:31

Thanks fairraid. It's funny that I'm wanting to feel ill!

On the bleach discussion, I reckon it's ok so long as you don't breath in too much - which wouldn't be pleasant pregnant or not

fairraid · 13/02/2017 13:41

Don't wish to feel ill lol. I'm feeling knackered. Not sleeping that great. Keep waking up too early and not being able to go back to sleep.

I've board hopped and asked the bleach question on two other pregnancy groups on MN so I'm hoping those further along will be able to further clarify.

I imagine the germs hiding under the rim of my loo are currently scurrying for cover in a domestos tv advert style at the thought that the bleach bottle maybe making a comeback, pending the outcome of the MN jury Grin

hometownunicorn · 13/02/2017 14:06

donkey86 I'm feeling better too, and a bit paranoid about what that means. It's weird wanting to feel rubbish. I'm quite tired today but I think that's down to not being able to sleep properly last night rather than anything else.

donkey86 · 13/02/2017 14:57

I think I might need to look into booking an early private scan. I wasn't going to but my local nhs does first scans from 11-14 weeks (I thought it was meant to be 10-12) which means anywhere up to another 7 weeks to wait and I can't keep worrying like this. Now to convince DH that the £100 it'll cost is worth it...

Presh88 · 13/02/2017 15:10

10storey so glad the scan went well! I have mine on Wednesday - will be 7w+4 and so nervous, can't wait to have it over with so we can hopefully tell our parents!

Still not had loads of symptoms, mainly tiredness and going off the idea of lots of food. Can totally live with this just need to know everything is ok now!

Foggymist · 13/02/2017 15:31

Can I join in here, for now? Got a bfp this morning, af was two days late. Told dh, we were surprised but happy (we have a 2 year old already). Just now two hours after finding out I've had a bit of red bleeding, not just a drop, it was more of a gush really. I've quite a heavy tight feeling in my uterus now as opposed to cramps, and the blood stopped again immediately, with af it usually stays constant when I wipe, but it was totally clear now.

Is it most likely a chemical pregnancy/very early miscarriage, or is there any chance this is in some way normal or common? I just can't believe the timing, to get what appears to be af just after the first positive test! I had negative tests until then.

Thanks for reading.

donkey86 · 13/02/2017 15:31

It's just occurred to me I'm not sure I'm counting correctly. When people say they're xw+xd do you count from LMP or when you think you ovulated?

Good luck for your scan, Presh!

angelicjen · 13/02/2017 15:40

Reading this has made me feel so much better. Not that I want anything bad to happen to any of you obvs but you all made me feel more normal. My symptoms come and go and freak me out too. Plus I had spotting yesterday which was so scary. I hate all this uncertainty.

donkey you count the weeks from the first day of your last period. But really it's your ovulation plus 2 weeks which is the same if you have a 28 day cycle but not if you have a long cycle.

donkey86 · 13/02/2017 15:48

Thanks Jen - I thought that was the case, but wanted to check. So I'm at nearly 8 weeks by that count (I have long cycles so would be quite a bit less the other way).

I'm glad you and others have said similar things about symptoms coming and going - it's all so worrying sometimes but I guess if we're all experiencing it in similar ways, it's probably ok :)

NotMyPenguin · 13/02/2017 16:06

My pregnancy symptoms seem to come and go at the moment too, but to be honest I'm a bit worried as little bean was measuring a bit behind at my private scan last Friday.

I've still got the sore breasts and fatigue (although perhaps I was always secretly yearning for lunch-time naps?!) but the nausea has definitely eased up a few times lately which has me worried. But it sounds like I'm in good company!

punkpuffin · 13/02/2017 16:14

foggy have you taken another test since the bleed? I would ring the drs and ask to see someone. Image some spotting with my first and they have me an early scan. Invoke all is ok.

I cannot get hold of the midwife for love not money. I rang gp surgery and was told they had no available midwife appointment for 3 weeks so to ring her directly and she hasn't responded to my messages.
