Hi all - looks like I'm first here! I'm pregnant with #1, due 2 September. Got my BFP a couple of days ago and already it feels like a rollercoaster ride - I'm utterly thrilled, anxious about the possibility of a loss and terrified at the thought of the birth! But hey, bring it on! Smile

Hiya all I'm here with my #2 got bfp this morning very much a shock to the system.

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 16/01/2017 09:50

Hello can I join in too please.

Got BFP on the 8th Jan and I think due date is 21/9. I'm 36 and this will be DC#2. Already have a DS who turned two in November. We live in SW London.

I have PCOS so was using ovusense so I know when I ovulated but my nice GP has worked out my due date from my last period on 7th Nov so that I get a scan earlier (probably 9/10 weeks). My BMI is a bit high at 31 as haven't lost all the baby weight from last time so I'm following a not too strict low carb diet so that I don't put on to much weight. I put on 2 stone last time and DS was 10lbs and is still 99th centile for height and weight! I suffered from awful sciatica from week 8 and am dreading it coming back this time. I do pilates twice a week and my back is a lot stronger than last time round so I'm hoping that will make a difference. So far I'm just a bit nauseous and more tired than normal. The sick feeling is not great when having to take the packed tube and train to work each day and its too early to wear a Baby on Board badge yet (and no one will take any notice anyway)!

Please can someone link to the spreadsheet and I'll add my info.

HellsBellsK · 16/01/2017 09:51

Dont I was having orange squash for the last few weeks now I can't even look at it. May be I will change to berry or something.
Have a scan this Wednesday - starting to worry about it now. Trying to be positive about it.

Oliversmummy I have some small cramps also but nothing painful if that makes sense. Also haven't had any brown spotting since the first small bit - will say it to the consultant on Wednesday anyway.

Welcome whitwoo

MrsK8541 · 16/01/2017 10:02

Just found out our school nurse is also a midwife. Rejoicing at having someone at work to turn to! I asked her about the cramps and she has said to keep an eye on them, apparently they shouldn't be as bad as AF cramps ... Now panicking a little bit that something is wrong ... Maybe not so good to have a midwife in the next corridor.

PerpetualStudent · 16/01/2017 10:28

Morning all, I've had a panicky time with DS last night, he had a febrile convulsion from a sudden high temp (shaking, bubbly noise in throat, glazed unfocused eyes - terrifying!) which was an (unwelcome) distraction from my lack of symptoms & cravings for wine and coffee!
All fine this morning, but he has a rotten cold so I'm keeping him off nursery. I need to write up & submit my PhD before this new bean makes an appearance, so not feeling at all anxious that's another work day down the drain!!

RE vits, I'm taking folic acid and vit D. Stopped taking my usual cod liver oil pill as I thought the vit A in liver-related things was a no-go when pg?

Nw85 · 16/01/2017 10:38

I'm finding it so hard to keep up on this thread! It's difficult when all on just a thread insteAd of own forum if that makes sense.

I'm doing OK, stupidly tired and light headed. As this is baby number 4 I've put on weight Already, probably because I can't stop eating. I'm usually a size 6 so any weight I put on is pretty obvious. I'm 8 days away from my first appointment wohooo.

Is anyone else hot all the time? I'm red hot. I can't remember this with previous pregnancies

goiaba · 16/01/2017 12:16

Thank you ladies for the vitamin suggestions! Will keep the folic acid and will buy a multivitamin specific for pregancy.

My period cramps have finally stopped but now I'm feeling nauseous. No throwing up yet (thank god) but just not feeling great, specially after eating.

Just ordered my TFL badge, since I'm not sure how my train and tube trips to work will be once I start feeling nauseous and dizzy. Any ladies here that were pregnant in the past, do you know if people offer they seat if you are wearing the badge?

oliversmummy26 · 16/01/2017 12:23

Just realised that I'm (hopefully) going to be 8 months pregnant at my sister's wedding in August...and I'm a bridesmaid - will be the whale-iest bridesmaid in history! Fortunately she hasn't chosen her dresses yet... Don't think I'll be joining in with the surfing lesson at her hen though (at 7 months)

Nw85 · 16/01/2017 12:33

No, think you'll be giving surfing a miss but you could be chief photographer of the lesson!

flymo79 · 16/01/2017 12:42

Also finding it hard to keep up!!
perp convulsions sound terrifying, what do you do if your child is having one? We live in a hot country so it's always a worry.
Does anyone know if there's anything you can do to avoid pelvic pain in pregnancy? I had it so badly last time around. Am more worried about that (and a bout of vertigo I had) than the nausea

WhiteLily86 · 16/01/2017 12:45

I am just on pregnacare vitamins I think! What a struggle to remember to take them daily after being off pill for a year!

Nw85 I am the opposite, constantly cold. Other than work, as soon as I get in I have a hot water bottle clamped to me!

I also seem to be ok on the alcohol, my biggest worry. I haven't had any cravings since our BFP. Really surprising. I had a slight craving on sat night when we had lovey steak, but because hubby didn't have red wine, I didn't crave it. I think the summer will be tough though.

Anyone else the same - cold and not even missing alcohol?

Have my booking in appointment on Thursday!!! Yay! I assume it's just a chat and they can't really tell me too much about what is going on inside?

ringroads · 16/01/2017 13:12

Flymo, try serola belt, i used one in my first pregnancy and was really good . It really supports your back and will def be using it again this time around.

Whitelily, yes booking in appointments are a long chit chat about your health, prev pregnancies, they will weigh you and do your height, ask u abt domestic violence so dont be offended they ask everyone. Plus they take your first set of bloods and then book you in for your scans, and ull receive a letter in the post for your scan dates. All exciting stuff x

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 16/01/2017 13:40

Goiaba sadly no people don't graciously offer you a seat as soon as they see you. I was on crutches and had a badge and still had to ask. I'd look at whoever was in the priority seat and try to see if they might move (obvs tricky with hidden disabilities).
I'm dreading commuting this time round especially as we'll be massive in July/august....

sherbertlemon17 · 16/01/2017 14:43

Hi everyone! Can I tentatively join? I've had a sneaky feeling all weekend that I might be pregnant, but it was still a big shock when I got a bfp this morning!

This will be DC2 and already have a LG who is 13 months. So excited to tell DH when he gets home GrinGrin

Amz26 · 16/01/2017 14:50

oliversmummy26- I got 2 weddings this year and they're for close family too!
My brother is getting married in October so I'm guessing I would of had the baby by then so will just have to find something to wear which I can breastfeed in 🙈 And my sisters is in December which I'm bridesmaid for have already got the dress, so will Defo have to be able to get back into that before December! Should be able to do it 🤔🤔
I'm sort of glad I'm getting out of both hens as they are abroad and I can't fly that late in my pregnancy 😄😄

Im just taking pregnacare and stop taking my omega 3 as they were to high in Vit A but will get some other that are better for pregnancy

Amz26 · 16/01/2017 14:51

Welcome to all newcomer X

MouseLove · 16/01/2017 15:33

My anxiety is peaking today. Not great. 😢
I just can't get my head around that everything is ok and I still don't have any symptoms at all. If the digital test would have been 3+ I wouldn't even be doubting this right now. Ffs. 7 weeks today.

StarWish1 · 16/01/2017 15:49

Hi mouse I'm new to the thread but I've been lurking. I haven't wanted to join the grads thread just yet as I'm feeling very nervous and anxious too having had a mc in sept. I've been posting on the ttc after miscarriage thread.
I wanted to come on to reassure you though. I'm 7 + 1 and I was also feeling very anxious about lack of symptoms. I've had the occasional day of sore boobs but then a gap of 3-4 days before I'd feel this again, I've had some mild nausea but think that's me just trying to believe I've had it and not 100% it was real.
I've had cramps and backache since week 5 which were my only real symptoms last time so I'm dreading another mc. I had some spotting on Friday so I booked myself for a private scan yesterday. And...it was ok! Everything where it should be and a heartbeat. Don't worry too much. I've been reading your posts and I know you've had a positive approach to it "we're all different." Just keep that in mind and focus on getting through today x

Amz26 · 16/01/2017 15:50

I'm so sorry you're feeling like this mouse would it maybe be worth getting an early scan as it might make you feel better X

Amz26 · 16/01/2017 15:52

StarWish1- welcome, glad you've joined us! I'm glad your scan went well X

MouseLove · 16/01/2017 15:55

I know I'm being silly. But it's comes in waves. One minute I'm excited and happy and the next I'm convinced something is wrong. I can't be this lucky. I have a nurse appointment to check my thyroid again tomorrow so I'll mention it and see if she fobs me off. The GP wasn't interested on Saturday really. (I have other health issues hence all the appointments)

TriJo · 16/01/2017 16:13

Feeling like total crap right now tbh - not physically, mentally. I'm not ready for this, I'm not ready for 2 under 2 (I was on the March 2016 thread) and I'm not ready to pretty much give up on my little boy's babyhood. I'm still breastfeeding and my supply feels like it's dropping already, could only pump 70ml at lunchtime today when I normally get 150ml ish and the little lad is feeding for ages to get what he needs.

I'm not excited in the slightest. Telling hubby this evening and he's going to hit the roof. I've had 7 faint positive tests though since Saturday so can't really argue with that. This year was supposed to be our "do fun stuff as a family of 3" year, not "waddle around like a beached whale in the summer heat". I was training for the London Marathon too, it took me 6 years to get in and I can't defer again after deferring last year...

Fuck.

whitwoochantelle · 16/01/2017 16:18

I second the early scan mouse. I had one as I got my dates muddled up wss such a relief having it. X

Sophie91 · 16/01/2017 16:59

tiptoes in hello!
First time poster, first time mum! I tested positive this morning, we are both terrified and excited and nervous and ecstatic!
So it looks like I will be due around 12th September.
I have no idea what I'm doing, so this is going to be quite the journey for both of us..! But I'm so excited. Haven't told anyone yet, debating whether to tell my parents before my 12 week scan or not!
Anyway, I'm sure I will be back daily for help and advice- also, I don't really understand the mumsnet lingo and abbreviations so please bear with me! Blush

calimommy · 16/01/2017 17:08

trijo you will be fine x

I got pregnant by accident when DS1 was 6months old. I was knocked off my feet. Unfortunately it wasn't a sticky bean anyway. Then tried again and no go again but third time lucky and I had my second DS just a month shy of DS1 2nd birthday. It's hard work alright but they are very close, even at 3.5&1.5, and it does get easier! Just get a good double buggy so you can get out and about easily and a comfortable baby carrier for when baby needs to be held and you need to do things with the older one. When I'm really tired I always think, someday this baby and toddler won't exist anymore, so relax! (And less than 1% of the alcohol in wine goes through to breast milk so you can have an adult pick-me-up without feeling guilty👍)
