Hi all - looks like I'm first here! I'm pregnant with #1, due 2 September. Got my BFP a couple of days ago and already it feels like a rollercoaster ride - I'm utterly thrilled, anxious about the possibility of a loss and terrified at the thought of the birth! But hey, bring it on! Smile

Oh ladies. Wish I could wave a magic wand and make all your worries go away. Hard I know, but not good for us to worry.

Regarding your partners, can you explain your worries so he understands more? I'm really lucky in that my DH reassures me and makes sure I'm ok. But I can understand if he didn't know something I would get frustrated. Sending hugs ladies! X

oliversmummy26 · 11/01/2017 16:40

Thanks Mouse I know the worry will never stop, will give myself a good talking too and try to relax...bubble bath tonight I think with a hot chocolate to cheer myself up Smile

MouseLove · 11/01/2017 16:51

Remember.... not too hot a bath. Warm only. 😂🙈

With you on that oliversmummy, i feel like I really want to enjoy the pregnancy (where is this glow? When does that happen!!), but until I get to 12 weeks, i am wishing time away!

Read a statistic earlier (I need to stop googling), that after the 8 week mark, only 5% chance of mc. That should help some of us worriers!

Hot baths with a glass of wine are usually my sanctuary. So no wine and no steaming hot. Next I will not be allowed bubbles Hmm

Amz26 · 11/01/2017 17:31

I'm with you ladies the worrying is unreal.. I just said the same thing to my OH.. I can't wait for the 1st trimester to be over.

Think I'll be doing the same a lovely warm bath!! OH to make the dinner and then just to chill out and watch some TV X

Amz26 · 11/01/2017 17:33

WhiteLily86 - oh really that's good to know.. That will Defo put my mind at rest a little X

Shwighty1 · 11/01/2017 18:01

Hey FTMs the wishing the time away never goes, pregnancy is all about 'just getting to' 12 weeks, 20 weeks, 24 weeks 37 weeks and so on....

Hopefully we'll all be glowing in our 2nd trim!!

That branch hitting you charlij sounds awful just watch out for any pain and breathlessness!

Unofficially told my boss today I'm pleased I did as she advised me of a few tasks I shouldn't be doing wrt chemical exposure with the upcoming seasons of work. It went well actually and she was super pleased

FXSkip · 11/01/2017 18:37

Thanks shwighty so you're saying the next 8~ months is going to be torturous!! Cheers pal 😣

My baby brain is so shit I can't even remember what anyone else said....

EmFe · 11/01/2017 19:00

Totallylosingit and HellsBells - thank you both for asking. Not stopped, not worse, but worried my boobs don't really hurt anymore. I was so upset last night (still am) and pretty convinced it's not working out, I'm booked in for a scan at my local EPU Friday morning so a waiting game.

Lovely to hear all your stories though!

londonfeather · 11/01/2017 19:05

Ive just got two letters through from Chelsea & Westminster, a week after self referring - one with my booking appointment for 20 Feb and my scan date for 27 Feb - it is all getting a bit more real now!!

londonfeather · 11/01/2017 19:11

EmFe, I hope the appointment on Friday goes well. I'll have my fingers crossed for you.

Gingerbreadmam · 11/01/2017 19:17

Good luck for Friday emfe will keep everything crossed.

flossie80 · 11/01/2017 19:23

Hope Friday goes ok. Thinking of you

calimommy · 11/01/2017 20:23

mouselove it certainly didn't bring on AF 😝 I'm getting some conflicting information but the overriding consensus seems to be that it does no harm. I'll stop taking it in a few weeks when I've weaned off. I had insufficient Luteal phase so I'm reluctant to stop it immediately.

Amz26 I'm booked in for a scan and consult with my OB on the 27th 😬 so I wait with baited breath!

WLMcI · 11/01/2017 20:33

Good luck EmFe! And to all of us, perhaps we need some light-hearted entertainment? What did your OH say when you told him (or her)? Paraphrasing slightly, mine went like this:
SCENE: Kitchen after homemade Italian dinner with in-laws
DH: That was a nice dinner, so it was.
Me: Thanks, it was a bit of a celebration for us too, actually. Cuz we're going to have a baby McI!
DH: How do you know?
Me: I took a test today.
DH: Oh, did you aye. (Continues washing dishes)
Me: .......... Just...are you not gonna...you gonna just keep washing dishes or...
DH: Hmm?

MouseLove · 11/01/2017 20:48

Nice idea WLMcl

DH was at work (6am-9am finishing early NYE), I was due to have my MRI scan so I took an IC and didn't pour away my wee for some weird reason. I was sat on the loo when I picked up the IC and saw a faint line.

Text - ring me as soon as you're finished work. X

Phone call from DH
DH - hi, what's up are you ok?
Me - yes!! Erm so I took a test and I think there's a second line. Can you get more tests please.
DH - omg. Are you sure? Omg. How am I meant to drive!? Lots of laughing and crying.

DH gets home, gives me the tests and I use my FMU to get another positive. DH looks at the test and says...
DH - one minute (reads the instructions) yep, that's a positive, omg what are we gonna do about your scan. Hahaha

We then went to hospital, told the radiologist I was preggers, he congratulated me and we went out for lunch. Nice day and a lovely end to a shitty 2016.

calimommy · 11/01/2017 20:58

Oh stop. They are gas. My DH said "fuck no" and walked out of the room when I told him. But then two days later he was dead excited. 🙄

Gingerbreadmam · 11/01/2017 21:02

Nye morning, dp and i were discussing our plans.

I had mentioned to my party animal aunty we were planning on celebrating nye and she was more than welcome to join. Her and my brother and all dp's family decided they would.

I had a magnum of prosecco lined up for nye and remember af was due. My afs are weird and normally start days in advance except nye i had nothing.

I went upstairs to do some cleaning and thought i best poas to be on the safe side before my magnum.

5 minutes later walk downstairs in tears to dp with test in my hand saying im pregnant. I think i was sad about my prosecco and in shock.

flossie80 · 11/01/2017 21:31

I wrapped up my pregnancy tests (all 3 of them ! ) with a little Christmas babygro I'd bought for my newborn niece! Gave it to DH on NYE saying I'd forgotten to give him a pressie, and said that he might need it this time next year! He opened (rather confused!) and stared in disbelief before having a little tear! It was a really lovely moment!

EssentialHummus · 11/01/2017 21:51

We had just gotten back from a month in Tokyo (like, just walked through the door). I realised that AF was late and went upstairs to POAS. Came down to show DH. Cue 20 min discussion about whether we should keep the stick I weed on er, no. Followed by frantic googling about all the sushi I'd eaten Grin

We're panickers.

FXSkip · 11/01/2017 21:52

Aww guys all your stories are lovely!!

I wrapped up my pee stick on Xmas eve and gave him an early pressie. It went like this:
DH: what's this?
Me: um I'm pregnant 😐
DH: what, really? How? (In his defence id had a breakdown about missing fw the previous day!)
Me: yes, I'm pregnant
DH: are you sure this isn't from last time? Is this a joke? I need to see you do one before I believe you

So he thought I'd stashed a pg test from my last pregnancy when I mc'd, with the express intention of playing a sick prank on him 6 months later.

Amz26 · 11/01/2017 22:09

Nice idea WLMcl!! What great stories ladies :)

So they day after Boxing Day I Poas not thinking anything as I had been sleeping all day 🙈 I was only 11dpo but thought I would give it a go.. I did it and there was not anything there.. 2mins later I went to the test and there was a really really really faint line( to be honest it could of been missed) I told OH to come and have a look but he wasn't convinced!! We then went to tesco to buy a clear blue digital and we were waiting and I went to get something and my OH saw it first... All he keep saying was "wow" and " I can't believe it my swimmers are good hahaha" it was really nice that he saw it first and told me xx

Amz26 · 11/01/2017 22:13

calimommy- how exciting I bet you're counting down the days!! I had a doctors appointment today so hopefully I will get a scan date soon X

Pinkbottletop · 11/01/2017 22:59

Hi all!

Found out I was pregnant on Monday. App says I'm due around the 18th. I started another threat and was pointed here so good to see all you other September mummies!

I'm having serious anxiety. Last pregnancy was a mc but the pregnancy was unplanned and came at a really bad time during a bad patch of my relationship. I was so stressed about what to do and I think mc'd at about 9 weeks. Had heard heartbeat and had a early scan pic done and everything. So I'm super nervous about this one. Having quite strong cramps, similar to period pains but more of a dull ache lower down. Very sore boobs and feeling very bloated after I eat.

Did anyone else have to self refer for a midwife? Mr Drs are absolute shite and refuse to send me for bloods, or do another urine test in the lab or anything. Just told me to download a form and self refer. So since Monday I've not really had any professional support. Sending my form off tomorrow.
