hello!!! no not abandoned by London girls at all!!! it's just hard to keep up with y'all

So impressed at all the hospital bag packing. Here's a list of tips on what to pack - I especially swear by using nipple cream as lip balm. Wondrous.

SOH was going to ask if you'd come to Twickenham and bought all the gingerbread as I checked the bakeries this morning and they had none left - but I haven't the heart to poke fun now. Hope your FIL is ok!!

Ahhhh it's nice to hear people happy and enjoying themselves at the moment. Maybe we are blooming????????????????

CM, so glad everything is going well for your babies. I think about you alot, honestly, I'm still jealous, I WANTED TO HAVE TWINS.

Sorry about your FIL, SOH, that sounds awful, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Took the dc's swimming this afternoon, need to start preparing them for the summer. They get soooooo confident in our pool, in it everyday and then winter arrives and there is no more. Vowed to take them throughout the winter but this is only the second time. They were both fab though, loved it! ds hasn't lost his confidence at all, refused to even take his armbands. dd pooed in the pool though, She did have a swim nappy on and I didn't notice until we went to get dressed, euggggh, it was not nice or easy to clean up a very disolved, watery poo. Sorry if TMI

Lupins I have had a premenition about going into labour with this one. It doesn't happen!! I think it has something to do with the fact that I am convinced it will be late again and I will yet again be induced. If I'm honest, I'd really quite like to experience the spontaneous, Oh here it comes labour, waters breaking, you know text book stuff. 2hrs start to finish.

Wont be around tommorow, have a busy day, socialising (a rare occasion) and then have to pick up our new car. YEY I'M SO EXCITED. Even if it will lessen my bank account by 6 grand.

Keep happy everyone.......

Notsolk, Twikenham? Is that where you are? My sister lives in Richmond. Normally visit her when we are over, next time in July, we'll have babies then, maybe we could do a mini meet? Could try to drag AM into it too she's only 45mins away.

Hello all. Glad to hear everyone is feeling well and enjoying themselves. I must admit I feel far better health wise this time than when I was pregnant with ds. I only I didn't have this damn sciatica. I am going for my first physio appointment on Monday so I'll let you know what they say. Came home tonight to find the gas people have dug up all along our road - oh joy! I vaguely remember a letter now. I had to park miles down the road as we have a shared driveway and can't park on it.
On a better note, we are off to a cottage on Friday night with a group of friends for the weekend. It will be really nice to get away. One other couple have a 4 month old baby but apart from that ds is the only child so there is no shortage of people who want to play with him.

Charleymouse - I sympathise lots with your DH - will be interested to hear how he gets on....there was an article in one of the papers recently about virtual driving practice you can do with (I think) BSM. I am seriously thinking of this before doing much behind the wheel and it might be good for him too.
glad to hear everyone is well although sciatica sounds horrid

Hi all

Still stupidly manic today at work although bosses are away for the rest of the week so actually stand a chance of making a dent in the work they have given me. I have a photo shoot to organise, models to find, outfits (period dress) for the model to wear etc etc Plus my all time favourite (NOT) data cleaning [boo hiss]. On a better note we offered my position to someone today, will find out tomorrow of she accepts - fingers crossed.

Bubba quite quiet today but thats probably due to the fact that her brother woke up at 3.30am and didnt got back down til 5.30am!! Was not impressed but not his fault as nursery had let him sleep for 3 hours yesterday. Vent my anger at them this morning when they asked in a cheery voice 'and how are we this morning'.

Will just try and catch up with the thread

Well,

I got the crap scared out of me yesterday at the doctor's office. I went in and they started talking to me about when to go the hospital, breast/bottle feeding, and post baby birth control (to which I said, "What birth control, I'm thinking about #3 already). The reality set in that this baby will come in a matter of weeks. I can't believe it and am very nervous and excited. Had the gestational diabetes test yesterday, which is stupid, but it's mandatory.

Oh well.

Oh we've changed our name, but we aren't telling anyone, until after the birth.

Evening all..

SOH-hope your FIL is ok..

Charley nice to hear from you-congrats on your barn as well. How exciting..

lwatkins-Lovely to have a night out like that sometimes-makes you feel good to be alive. We are going out for my best mates birthday on Saturday into London town and im really looking forward to it..

FSF-Yes, 200 squid for homebuyers pack and it only lasts 3 months! After that you have to renew it for the lord knows how much..So you are screwed if your house doesnt sell!Maybe we will put ours on the market now as I think it will take a while....

Our neighbour has just been round banging on about neighburhood watch.I feel quite sorry for her as she is a spinster and seems a bit lonely, but Lordy can she talk, bless her.Still as I reminded dh, who was getting antsy becuase the football was starting on the telly, its certainly better to have nice neighbours who look out for you than horrid ones who dont speak...

Off to finish tea now.We are having a friend round who is going through a hard time with his Missus. We are having a spring veg and chicken casserole with a sort of mustard sauce. Then I will be off to bed as worn out this evening.DD is teething again and has been very tetchy indeed since I picked her up from childminder.Poor mite, its horrid when you've a tooth ache..

Evening all, we do sound a cheery lot today dont we? Now im going to ruin it lol only joking

Ive started to think about my hospital bag but not to the extent some of you have. This time im going to pack two, one for labour and the first few hours after the birth and then one for if i stay in hospital. My mum told me today that if i get the chance to stay again i should go for it as ds2 can be quite a handful and I could probably do with the rest but im not sure yet what to do, the rest sounds nice but at the same time i feel a lot happier in the comfort of my own home. I guess i will make my mind up nearer the time.

Bubs is on the go almost continually at the moment which is great except when it gives a big hard kick near the ribs that makes me jump, you can definately see my tummy moving now but if anyone puts their hands there all movement seems to stop

Bought a pack of 10 bibs today, stretchy over the neck ones, for £3, my bargain of the day along with a fleecy pram blanket and toy which was reduced to £1.99 and matches my pram perfectly.

I have made a note on my calendar of all school holidays, any appointments i have before the baby is due and any other info such as when parents and IL's are away and have discovered that in May I have 9 days in which to give birth, which are totally free, no holidays, no appointments etc what are the chances of the baby arriving on any of those days cant see it somehow can you And if i take off ds1's birthday )(due date) and my sister birthday (25th) then that leaves 7 days on which the baby is quite welcome to appear. Normally May is a quiet month, this year seems strangely busy, isnt that sods law

Im so tired today, ds2 has got the sniffles back and so he kept waking up last night and dh has hurt his thumb and every time he knocked it he yelled out waking me up. He is getting no sympathy from me though, he bit his thumb nail too low and then had a sharp bit sticking out so he ripped it off, it went right down to the base of the nail and then got infected, he then banged it at work and it swelled to twice its normal size and ended up in A&E. He now has to take antibiotics and was signed off work for two days. The whole thumb is numb except when he bangs it and there was a risk he could hit it with a hammer or something and do more damage I know i shouldnt laugh but im always nagging him to stop biting his nails, maybe now he will listen although i doubt it he is male afterall

Spoke to my dad tonight and he's not been keeping too well recently. Only tonight I found out it's actually much worse than what my mum has made out bless her, probs trying to stop me worrying! He's on about 4 different antibiotics and steroids. He was told that he had bronchitus (sp) and by the sounds of it it has started to get worse and is now turning into something else if that makes sense. He's having a lot of problems breathing and has been given steroids to help everything clear and open up easier to make breathing better. His coughing is so awful it was making me wince whilst on the phone, and it makes him lightheaded and is also putting a lot of strain on his heart. He had a triple heart bipass a couple of years ago, so the old tickers not as great as it could be. He's been of work for 3 weeks and the doctor signed him of work for 2 of them.
Ooooo I do worry, mind i'll see him on friday so can give him a big cuddle. I hate my dad being ill though, dad's aren't supposed to get ill. They're our big strong hero's, I hate seeing him weak IYKWIM.

Oh think happy things, what to eat tonight? Mmmmmm, food!

Evening all, its just taken me an hour to catch up and I've only been off line since Monday! Had horrid gastric something which meant basically firing at both ends and not leaving the bathroom for 24 hours.

Just made it out of the house to the doctors this evening as managed to scare myself silly reading about blind babies etc due to food poisoning on web! Doc reckons Bubs is ok (tho thinking about it, I could have told her that - its been booting me hard in my tender tummy; just the most horrible feeling - nothing quite like being sick whilst preggers is there!).

Anyway, biggest, most important moan is that I MISSED PANCAKE DAY (and lost 3 kilos). Will have to make up for it as soon as I can eat again - bought a pack of cheaty pancakes last week as we've only got one hot plate to cook on and need it for the chocolate sauce . Oooh, I am beginning to feel a bit better now.

Sorry to moan, sounds like a few of you have much worse hassles than me! thanks for listening anyway.

And if anyone has anything nasty to say about loolas - I'm not listening
x

Morning all.............. hope everyone had a good night. I slept all night for a change but I'm not sure I feel any better for it yet. Still fighting my iron levels I think. I started having a small can of guiness a day but I don't think it does anything other than make me feel pissed I am a lightweight.
Anyway was just popping in before my hectic day that I'm really looking forward to.

Lupins had a thought in bed last night. Was that chocolate topping called Ice Magic?

Have a good day all...........

LW sending get better soon to your dad

BB sorry to here you have been poorly, treat yourself to some pancakes anyway

FSF my mum used to have a guiness when she was pg, think i would be very very pissed if i had any alchohol havent drunk for at least 7 years lol - could be amusing lol, cant remember name of the choc stuff it was something like that, glad you had a good nights sleep, i went to bed at 9, earlier than usual and woke up more tired hmmm

Lillaura glad you got your nursery done, cant wait till our spare room stops looking like a junk room - not painting or anything, just needs organising, glad you are blooming, i have had more energy recently - except today lol,

Got on the scales OMG I have hit the 10 stone mark (thats 2 stone weight gain)- must eat less iced buns, I dont think i am eating alot tho, babies movements have been alot lot stronger so maybe he's had a growth spurt - i do feel starving this morning tho

Quick update on dp - I have been giving him this anti depressant stuff from health food shop for about 10 days now - yesterday i noticed an improvement, he was even joking around - maybe it was because the sun was shining, but it was so nice to have a lighter mood coming from him

Have a good day all - we had the windows open yesterday, back to having the heating on today its all grey and yucky out there, come on spring/ summer

Morning all

At work today and really chuffed as my friend has accepted the position to cover my maternity leave. I have 5 weeks left and my boss has said she can start next week and when she gets the hang of it I can leave (before 23 March) and they will still pay me!

On a not so good note went to GP yesterday with this horrid cough and still nothing to show for it! Also took DD2 with her arm and two GPs later they were baffled and suggested a trip to A&E. Got to Lincoln county A&E at 5.30 and didn't get home again until 10.30 !! I know she wasn't urgent but FFS but she had a temperature and 3 hours later was ready to go home unseen. Anyway it is only soft tissue damage so she has to start moving it and have plenty of nurofen and calpol. Temperature gone today and my mum is at home with her and said she seems much brighter.

sky im a true believer in the fact that in hospitals they should also consider age as to who gets seen first - ds 19 munths old has asthma and once we waited 6 hours for him to be seen wen he was struggling to breath - they said its because he was already diagnosed and had an inhaler i was capable of watching him . they wouldnt listen that that was y we were there is because he was having no relief from inhaler i waas mad

lilaura - I agree. They did see a tiny baby just before DD2 and they had arrived after us. I have to say I was very pleased they did as I would have been furious if I were the parents as she only seemed to be about 3 weeks old BUT they had still been there for 2 hours!

Hello all!

Haven't had a proper catch up but wanted to drop in and say hello to you all.

Pleased to say that FIL is well considering the crash he has been in (car crumpled, back end is up by the driver's seat). He is still in hospital and on a lot of morphine so a bit befuddled but we're hoping for a speedy recovery. DH is with him today- poor bugger has been in a right old tizz since we had the call telling us about the accident- last seen sobbing 'I love you Dad' down the phone at 10pm last night).

Went to see the obstetric physio woman yesterday and pmsl at her 'do you think you could lie down on your stomach while I examine you?' question. Not flippin' likely. Was in for an hour while she poked, prodded and twisted me. She found the problem and has manually bent the offending portion of my back into shape (ouch, ouch, ouch). Got a very fetching support belt and have to go back for weekly physio to stop it happening again.

Off to devour last of my yoghurt covered apricots.

And might do some work.

Hope everybody's tickety boo...

Luckily we have never had a lonng wait i A&e however i agree age should be taken into account - also the possible problem, some with asthma obviously needs to be seen before someone who has a little cut on their finger

I am sat hear eating fish cake and chips and fanta from the chippy - walked past and couldnt resist, it is soooooooooo yummy, lo is going a bit crazy thinking its the fanta lol
