Afternoon/evening all. Feels like i havent been on here for ages, have scanned through the posts and am glad to see we are all well, still no word from LG&T lets hope shes having such a great time with lots of rest that she's forgotten about us Seems strange without her though, hope she reappears soon

Had a look at that twin pushchair, looks quite sweet, almost made me wish i was having twins but then the ds's started arguing and I came back to earth with a bump

How I hate half term, they've only been off two days and im already tearing my hair out, im low on money so cant afford to go anywhere (weather is poo anyway)ds1 has already got himself grounded and ds2 is just being like any normal hectic 3yr old. I think its annoying me more because the tiredness has returned ten times worse than it was during the first trimester, if i sit down for a few minutes i start to doze. Im also having trouble sleeping no matter what position i lie in. My sciatica has got really bad the past two weeks, if i sit or lie down for more than a couple of minutes I sieze up and have to roll onto the floor and crawl about until it goes, not very good when the floor is covered with bits of k-nex, it hurts when you kneel on it

I picked up my pram last Thursday, it is now safely tucked away in MIL's house. I am so impressed with it, on the ebay listing the woman had said it was the 2in1 version but when i went to get it I saw it was the 3in1. It is perfect and im so chuffed as it is the exact colour i wanted as well. Everyone who has seen it so far has been very impressed, who wouldnt be with a saving of £228 on the shop price Cant wait now until May when i get to use it!!

Ive been hovering on the October thread checking up on my friend and hearing all their worries about niggly pains etc has brought it all back. A few months ago that was us, worrying when we woke up with no nausea, wanting to retest just to make sure we really were pg, waiting for our first scans. At the time the weeks seemed to drag now look at us 10-14wks and we will all be popping out babies left right and centre (except the lucky ones who get to have theirs a couple of weeks early) Not long now!!

I agree with you NSL and JL, I am going to put my two youngest in together whatever the sex of this one. I don't think it matters that it's boy & girl, certainly not at this age. We may keep baby in with us a little longer than we did with ds and dd.

My reasoning is something like this. Even if it is a boy, new baby and dd will be much closer in age and probably more acceptable of each other than ds (4) having to share his room with a baby. Once baby if a boy is older than I may see if the "boys" want to share?

Evening all.

Had a mw appt today and baby is doing nicely. Currently breech and wasnt impressed by being prodded by the doppler. Kicked hard then wriggled backwards out of the way before kicking hard again. BP fine but have to send a urine sample off for another set of tests.

Looking forward to my pancakes tonight though.

TPT - STILL measuring 8.5sheets

sorry for brief post, been very busy at work and cant bear the thoughtof sitting at the laptop all night. Just want to crash out on sofa.

Hope you are all well x

Pebble we had half term last week, mon tues wed ok - there was some free stuff on at the museum, thurs fri not too bad - bt sat and sun I was pulling my hair out - it is the amount of talking they epect you to do - preschool was a bleesing today and yesterday

Dont think dd would ever forgive me if I put a little boy in her room, my friend dd and ds are much closer in age and they love sharing - altho her dd is now just started to say she wants her bit of the bedroom like my dd's (soooo girly)

Looking forward to some (more) pancakes in a bit

Isnt it quiet without lgt and mgk, still we must chatter on their behalves

Hello all,
Been to see crap stand in midwife today, who did everything without telling me why or what the results were, or what they ment. Hope she doesn't turn up on my doorstep when I'm in labour.

Have to defend sealed bids from north of the border - it is really a very effective system. Everyone knows that you need to offer about 20% over the offers over price (we don't do asking prices. once your bid is accepted it is final, there is no backing down by either party, so everything is a lot quicker. I do agree that using sealed bids down south does sound crap though, pushing the price up with no extra security for the buyer.

No choice on sharing on the LOs sharing a room for us, though I think our flat is big enough for us to manage for another few years and we can't afford to move in this area anyway. Glad i don't have to think about that!

Hello
can't believe that tiny little thing in America - did you see the size of her feet? Amazing to thing that our LO's are already bigger than that!
Re sharing rooms - I am planning to have LO in our room for the first few months and then it will share with DS (who is 3 1/2). In a way we don't really have an option because otherwise one of them would have to go in an attic room and I think it is just a bit too far (from us and the loo!). I have friends with children who share and I think it is fine - of course, when LO turns out to be a terrible sleeper then I might have to eat my words.
I am a blasphemer - I have to admit I don't like P&Ts because the one underneath looks so uncomfortable and also I like the idea of them being able to see and to communicate. Not that it makes much difference because we are just about past needing a double buggy.
Hot chocolate calls (good for iron intake...)

Morning all - off to do the glucose test this morning with the midwife. Sooooo hungry but can't eat till after

Little Bean has been very quiet the last 3/4 days. Little movements but not nearly as much as normal. Might she have moved? Is this part of the ebb and flow of their movements? I'm 26+3

I shared with my sister till I was 12 years old (basically when i started high school) and the same with my 2 brothers. Went from one room to 2 when Jono went to High School. Our house had 5 bedrooms so with 4 kids and Mum and Dad, room wasn't an issue. I think it was easier for Mum and we didn't mind at all

Morning all,
DH was out last night so I made a lots (15)of pancakes so he could have some when he got home, but I have to admit I ate nearly all of them . At least I didn't wake up hungry at 4am.

Lupins, the only thing I've got for my hospital bag is a new washbag, and that's only because it came free with a baby magazine. And I was given some breastpads when I was about 14 weeks, but that's it.

What do you need for the hospital bag, all my friends tell me what not to put it (like nice shampoos, make-up etc). Makes you realise that there's a lot more to do then just looking at pushchairs...

Jelly - how on earth can u eat that many pancake 4 and i feel sick lol, I think it depends on how long you are in hosp for because I really appreciated having some nice tolietries - tou feel so scuzzy its nice to have something nice for you, my mum once bought me in some rose scented wipes - they were soooo lovely,

there is a link somewhere around what you need, will try and find it a bit later,

I cant believe its 9.30 and I have the whole downstairs tidy - thats what happens when you are up at 6, mind u dd still in pj's lol

Morning all....

Don't worry Lupins. My dd still in pj's, infact she's just gone back to bed for her morning sleep in them, and we are an hour ahead of you. Sounds like we have the same idea today, I have tideied down stairs and am going to work my way up.

Some of you are very organised about hospital bags, I haven't even thought about mine. I'll probably do it the week before or if baby decides to arrive early then I'll do it before I go to hospital.

Pebble, it is getting close, it's funny because as you say at the time the weeks just drag and to me they are still dragging, I feel like I'm just waiting around. But looking back I'm not sure where 28 weeks have gone? I know you ladies that work say you can't wait to give up work, but at least you have something to fill your days and help the time go. Wish I had a little part time job, just a few hours a week somewhere. Would be nice to need to be somewhere, be important, have to get dressed, put some make up on. I know I could do all those things with out work, but in Rural France I could go days without having to see or speak to anyone and even if I did they wouldn't care. They all go shopping in their farm overalls, wellies or slippers any way

Morning all,
Have breezed into work because I came in at a reasonable hour today rather than absurdly early as on Mon and Tues and have just cheerfully divulged something to my deputy re her job that was supposed to be top secret and which she will not like, by mistake.Ooops.
Have scurried upstairs to office to avoid further questioning.Sometimes I wish I would think more before I spoke-it would save me all sorts of bother..

Re house buying/selling-does anmyone know when that home information pack thing you have to have to sell comes into play and how much it will cost to get one done?

DH didnt get back till midnight last night and in trying to be 'quiet' tripped over on the stairs and woke me, dd and the real Scooter up.The real Scooter then spied a mouse in the corner and proceeded to try to do away with it so we spent about half an hour rescuing that and then another hour shushing dd back off to sleep. So not quite the early night I had planned but thus far not too exhausted.
Im going to eat a Muffin to celebrate..

Where is TYG as well? Was she going away this week?I wish all the AWOL ones would come back..I worry when people arent on for a bit..I said this to DH and he pointed out that I hadnt actually met any of you so I am thinking about it a disproportionate amount..He misses the point entireley..

Oh that preemie baby. Its little feet!!

Morning all

Back from London and Connie was back and Sound of Music was brill. Did lots of walking yesterday although DP thought we didn't do that much!

All very tired today and still coughing. DD2 got a temperature and still a bad arm/shoulder so off to Drs this afternoon. Not sure how to explain she hurt it on Saturday and we are only just getting it seen to!

Re room sharing. My two have their own rooms at the moment and at 11 and 7 will have to start sharing. They are quite keen at the moment but I'm not sure how long it will last. We are not going to move them in together for ages yet though and plan to get them bunks, new furniture, new carpet etc and decorate to make it seem fun.

I heard Bean's heartbeat this morning at the midwife for the first time
It was so lovely I almost cried and wished DH wasn't away for work so he could have heard it. It was very strong and loud and regular (midwife was very impressed). She is lying head down on her side which explains the tap tap i can constantly feel on my bladder. Everything was normal.
Can't stop grinning

mmmmm magic topping - used to love that, when we were in portuhal I had a pancake with forset fruits and icecream AND cream - it was soooo yummy, but i had to keep fighting if dd and dp - who had said nooo we dont want pancake lol

Just got bargain of the day, went into mothercare to look at bedding - well dd's stuff for cotbed is all lilac so thought id better investigate - picked up some nice sheets 2x2 packs, thought that would do as I had a 10% off voucher - anyway got to the bit where they had reduced some bedding and they had the matching curtains to the sheets i had just picked up marked from £35 down to £15, when i got to the till they were £10 plus i had my 10% off so ££££9.00 fantastic have hiddedn them away in the spare room, am not usually a coordinating person but it would have been rude not to buy them lol

FSF last time i had a premonition i would be having the baby within a week and the next day got my bag ready - went into town as i had nothing lol - as it was it was just as well i did as she arrived 2 weeks later at the exact time in the dream spooookkyy

Skytv glad you had a good time - i miss going to the theatre used to go alot

Cinnamon glad you got to hear hb - is a lovely sound isnt it

Off to get some milk, well i manged the bread and forgot the milk, bloomin pg brain, as i have a friend coming over (who is usually depressed, stressed, neurotic) then I had better be able to put the kettle on - back later

Afternoon all

Well had a fabtabulous day yesterday! Made pancakes for all of my flatmates and we all sat down to eat them together - awwww. And one of the guys had decorated the living room area by putting lots of blown up pictures of all of us in the flat on the walls. It almost had me in tears, despite all there faults it was plain to see that we have had some really good times. There's photos everywhere, it made me so happy looking at all the silly things we've done!

Then after pancakes we had a huge flat party, was so many people there you could hardly move, place is trashed now and we have an inspection tommorrow but it was worth it! Then we all went out to a club where there was a popcorn party. I got all dressed up, put on HEELS oh yes, and did my hair and makeup and thought I looked pretty good even if I do say so myself! Spent the whole evening getting cooed over by all the girls from my building, who were all very mushy about my bump. Was nice to be the centre of attention - ALL NIGHT!!! And all my flatmates were so protective of me and bean they all at some point nearly ended up in fights if someone so much as touched me by accident, nice to feel special eh! Spent the whole night dancing and was so dead and tired by the end, but what a good night Nice to feel like a 'normal' student for a few hours.

Just needed to share my day, cant stop smiling cause of it. Have now got so much work to do for uni it's unreal so will catch up with everyone later x

Afternoon ladies
Hope you are well. TPT measuring 11 sheets. Got weighed the other day amidst DH saying "no don't do it". I have put on 12 kg I am not converting it to proper money as it sounds horrendous enough in Kg which I don't understand. I was on a bit of a downer after this but checked in my twins book which said it is good to put on 11Kg by week 24 as this means the two babes should be a good size when they do pop out.

So obviously I had to have 4 pancakes for dinner last night just to keep on target .

Thank-you for all your kind words after T1s heart scare. It was much appreciated. We have now seen the letter from the heart surgeon via our consultant and she basically plays hell with them for putting me through such a trauma as well as reassuring us all is well. We were taken to a private consultation room last week and apologised to by the top bods within minutes of arriving. We also met the surgeon who will do T1s op and he seems lovely, we had another scan whilst he was there and the exomphalos is slightly larger than we had initially thought but it is still manageable, he hasn't ruled out a normal birth either he says we will just keep monitoring things. Unfortunately back again tomorrow for another scan as they think there is small patch of fluid on T1s chest but they just want to make sure and keep an eye on things.

On a positive note the barn we have been trying to buy for ages is now actually ours. The solicitor rang yesterday and we have now completed/exchanged contracts and monies. It has been a lot of a worry as we have paid the builder doing the renovation more than we had paid the vendor up until this point. (The vendor allowed us to start work last summer thinking the exchange would only be a few weeks) If the vendor had pulled out we would have been left in a right pickle and financially screwed. We have maxed our mortgage on our current house to be able to do this and we did not know obviously at the time that I was expecting or that it would be twins, so we are moving to a house which will be bigger than our current one downstairs but smaller upstairs, (we are losing a bedroom) and has no garage. Not sure if this going to work out now there will be 5 of us but will have to make a judgement when we can actually walk round the place and get a proper feel for it. It has been demolished and is now being rebuilt, we should be up to roof level in the next few weeks. Hoorah! Hopefully it will all be ready by the time all of us are out of hospital and due to be back home so we can sell our current house as we won't be able to afford the extra mortgage payments when I'm on my maternity leave..

We also now have a new car, we picked it up at the weekend it is a great big VW thing that will hopefully hold all of us and associated luggage. DH is going to be sat in the middle in the back and we have gone as big as we can without getting a 7 seater. Bless DH, he hasn't really driven since late 1980s after a couple of bumps and he confessed last night he has booked a course of refresher lessons as he is worried about me doing all the driving whilst heavily pregnant/after a possible C section. What a sweetie. I know he is really nervous about it but he is going to have a go. His first lesson is this afternoon, he was trying to keep it a secret but had to ask me where his driving licence was last night plus he can never keep a secret.

I've been sorting out items for my maternity bag as well, regular trips to Boots for various bits and bobs, I'm stocked up with Rescue Remedy, Arnica tablets, various pads for absorbing bodily leakage, bought a new dressing gown and put my flip flops in there to shower in. Not fully prepped yet though. I have cribbed my list (see below) from a fellow MNetter and added a few bits of my own They also suggested you pack your case into subsections labelled with name and contents to avoid DH/MWs having to route through everything to find stuff.

A thin dressing gown, Antibacterial wipes, Arnica, baby wipes, Babygros, Bachs Rescue Remedy, BFing pillow, Book, Breast feeding wrist band, Breast pads, Camera, change for parking and phone, cotton wool balls, Decaff coffee/tea, Drinks, Ear plugs, Eye mask, Flip flops, Hats, large mug, Lots of baby clothes, Maternity Pads, mittens, mobile phone, My Notes, nappy bags, newborn nappies, nighties, nursing bra/s, Old pants/disposables, picture of DD, raspberry leaf tea/tablets, Snacks, sweets, TENS machine, Toothbrush/make up/comb, Towels, vaseline/blisteze, Vests.

Gosh just realised this is an essay so will sign off for the time being. Have we been abandoned by the girls who went to the London meet up as it seems very quiet, I have even managed to catch up with all the posts. Hope you all had a nice time and choose somewhere a bit further up the country next time.
