Barnes Just put the milk in a bottle then pop the bottle in a bowl of hot water from the kettle. It'll take a couple of minutes. x

Rabbitykins55 · 29/12/2016 12:50

Stationary do you have any experience of sending a baby to nursery using reusable nappies? I'm keen, husband not so much, but it'll be going to nursery in January 2018 and I'm wondering if they will accommodate reusable nappies. Obviously I'm going to ask them once I get it all sorted but I thought I'd see what your experience is. Love the Pokémon reference! Smile

RasperryInAMelon · 29/12/2016 14:50

Ok so I might be sounding dense here... forgive a first timer...

My nipples are CRAZY amounts of itchy and I've noticed large 'dimples' around them. Is this my milk starting to come in or something I need to speak to the midwife about?

EsmesBees · 29/12/2016 14:53

Not sure about the dimples Raspberry, but the itching is normal. Just a sign they are growing.

Badgerbird · 29/12/2016 14:57

Yeah, think the itching is the stretching skin...

lucieloos · 29/12/2016 14:59

Raspberry, I doubt your milk will be coming in. Its just normal for breasts to change in appearance. Mine are also very itchy and is just where they are growing. Nothing to worry about. Get a nice cream for them.

McBaby · 29/12/2016 15:05

Raspberry they are Montgomery tubercles and totally normal in pregnancy.

RasperryInAMelon · 29/12/2016 15:10

McBaby that's the ticket! Thanks for steering me in the right direction. I've literally slathered myself in Palmers Tummy Butter as it was the only soothing thing in my handbag! Blush

1004Rise · 29/12/2016 15:44

Rasperry I have one really itchy one and the other is fine... the itchy one has more dimples. Sudocreme works well for me (as I tend to be allergic to most "nice" lotions)

Just back from scan, all good. Still team yellow because our trust won't look, but I think I prefer it this way. Wink

Oh and I have an anterior placenta too which explains why I can still only feel little bubbles of movement.

Nurse15 · 29/12/2016 16:00

How on earth have you all managed to have so little left to work? Not that I'm jealous lol!! Grin

lucieloos · 29/12/2016 16:06

I reckon I still have about a good 14ish weeks left!

RasperryInAMelon · 29/12/2016 16:29

Rise yes - same here, my left has grown like nobody's business and the right is more itchy and dimply! Pleased your scan went well! Mines next week, can't wait to see her again!

Lucie despite the 7 full 5 day weeks, I do actually have 16 weeks left at work Sad

Barnes79 · 29/12/2016 17:44

Another first-timer question: what do any 2 car families do about car seats? Especially if they're isofix or part of a travel system? We're wondering what to do if one of us drops baby off at nursery but the other has to pick up.... do we need 2 car seats???

RasperryInAMelon · 29/12/2016 18:16

Barnes We have** opted for one isofix base for the main car and the Silvercross car seat which we will just strap into the other car

mightymouse76 · 29/12/2016 18:16

On itching, it's my lower back (like mad) and armpits...I scratch like a monkey most days.
I get itchy, scaly bumps on the backs of my hands too- it's really attractive.

Oh and I'll be working for as long as he lets me! Confused (fingers crossed he stays in for the right length of time)

Is anyone else still feeling sick all day and so tired you could fall asleep if you sit down for more than 5 seconds? I've taken to yawning uncontrollably at people from about noon onwards. I know he'll be worth it but...🤢😴!

Barnes79 · 29/12/2016 18:30

Raspberry - so are you assuming it's possible to leave the car seat at nursery? I've not started even thinking about nursery etc so didn't know if that was allowed...

RasperryInAMelon · 29/12/2016 18:50

The nursery we've looked at go for short walks of half hour or so most days and the car seat we have attaches to the pram chassis so we'll leave that with them as a one piece (ours will only do upto 6 months)

mrspage1985 · 29/12/2016 19:41

Barnes we bought the oyster 2 yesterday! On offer at mothercare yesterday with free car seat.
It has fairly solid wheels and have discussed it being sufficient for the dog walks we do...but we tend to stick to path areas through the local parks.
X

Barnes79 · 29/12/2016 20:00

Mrspage - Think we might go for it - we were amazed at how light it was and how small it folds up! Did you bother with the carrycot or not as the seat bit is suitable from birth?

Sonnet18 · 29/12/2016 20:18

nurse I'm with you- I'm 21 weeks now but still have a good 14-15 weeks left of work!! I only get 52 weeks mat leave so would rather spend more time with my baby (and save money on the nursery fees!!) than take time off work beforehand. Jealous of those who can finish up sooner!

Nurse15 · 29/12/2016 20:28

Sonnet I'll be taking 9 months - couldn't afford anymore so I want to maximise time after birth! Also don't want to feel like I'm waiting ages if I do go two weeks over!! Don't worry we can cheer each other through it lol!!

teainbed · 29/12/2016 20:32

I'm finishing at 35.5 weeks. I've got another week off just now and the February half term off so 11 working weeks left. So technically finishing in 13 weeks, and I'm 22 weeks now. I was pretty much in hospital daily from 36 weeks with the others so can't really risk staying at work much longer than that.

Rabbitykins55 · 29/12/2016 20:46

I'm finishing at 39 weeks. I want as much time off as possible after so taking my enhanced mat leave and adding my holiday on.

coxsorangepippin · 29/12/2016 21:04

Rabbity, me too.

Barnes79 · 29/12/2016 21:26

Anyone else now freaking out about nursery fees? I'd been thinking about £800 a month but the two within walking distance of my house are both about £1100! And that's Manchester prices, not London. Shock
