We maxed out our last thread before starting a new one.
I'm not savvy like kitkat so can't post our list either! Hopefully there will be some ba's before this thread is completed.

When mine went wth DD we had to replace the whole mattress as it made a lot of mess and smelt. This time I have put water proof sheets down.

Good luck today tip
*
South* that's brilliant news.

goinggrey1978 · 29/11/2016 10:24

Ok great guys, I have some of those bed wetting mats so I'll use those when I change the sheets later, I know it's pretty common for your waters to break during the night or contractions to start during the night, so just wanted to know what to expect and to be a littlep prepared if that was possible!!

Theaks · 29/11/2016 10:39

I want a new mattress so hoping waters break all over it! Grin
Not sure if I have a slow trickle or just getting some increased runny discharge! So frustrating all this. Midwife told me to lay down when I got home! So that's what I'm doing!

goinggrey1978 · 29/11/2016 11:40

Theaks, my mattress is just 2 years old and so comfy, so really don't want to ruin it, wearing protection too, just in case and i also have a slight discharge as well, it used to be clear or white, now it's a slight peach colour, sorry TMI think it's probably normal after the sweep yesterday!! having a rest now after doing a few jobs, before getting with some more!!

Thisisbonkers · 29/11/2016 12:08

Please tell me lots of physical activity can help get things going! I'm exhausted today but have got lots done!

DartmoorDoughnut · 29/11/2016 12:27

grey mine had to be broken last time but I had mats that I put under the sheet just in case, when they did go they went for like the entire labour, no mat would've saved my mattress! Shock

bonkers yep walking/squats etc is meant to get labour going!

SouthDownsSunshine · 29/11/2016 12:32

theaks mine went with a dribble that initially I thought was discharge, but then it was enough to run down my leg so I figured it wasn't. I put a pad on and it smelled different and was pinky.

Theaks · 29/11/2016 12:42

south I can't work out if it's waters or not. Doesn't seem enough to be waters.

OrianaBanana · 29/11/2016 13:15

They can leak pretty slowly, and I think pinkish is a good healthy colour.

Very busy here now, arranging a boiler service and washing machine repair e.g. - and my TENS machine has arrived Shock. I have the Strep B testing kit but I'm dithering about using it (they don't charge you til you send in samples). I'm so thankful my SPD has eased off enough to let me do things. So much to do but it feels so good to get them done!

KitKat1985 · 29/11/2016 13:20

Theaks my waters went in 3 small gushes (had to change my underwear sort of level, but I wasn't soaked) and then baby dropped down and fully engaged and 'plugged the hole' as the midwife put it so I didn't lose the rest until she was born, so you don't always have to lose loads of liquid when your waters break. I didn't realise but they can actually do a test to see if your waters have gone (they swab your cervix area, and then it works like a pregnancy test and comes up a positive if it detects amniotic fluid). I'm surprised your midwife doesn't want to confirm either way if your waters have gone. xxx

Great news south hopefully you'll be home with your family soon.

Dd3 has been really ill, after an emergency hospital apt she was referred to hospital where she has been diagnosed with RSV, normally it's just a virus like cold, but for some reason she's struggling to breath 😦 she's home now but if it picks up again she'll be hospitalised and put on oxygen. And the bloody thing lasts weeks too!

I didn't know they could test. It was just a drop in- maybe she didn't have the kit I don't know. Just keeping a eye on

DartmoorDoughnut · 29/11/2016 14:09

Oh bloody hell bigfam the winter illness season has not been kind to your lot this year has it Sad hope she's better soon

Nojo82 · 29/11/2016 14:23

Aw bigfam thats awful. Know how you feel, my ds3 gets badthis time of year,he was in hospital beginning of October so we have got on top of it all. Regular inhalers and medication. Hope ur dd gets better soon and it resolves itself.

Dreading if my waters go, they never did before. I had to have them broken well into labour with my other 3..

Keep saying im going to start going for walks but it completely tires my out. But the boys have santa letters to post so we are going to walk to the end of the road later when ds2 gets home. (Theres a post box outside my house but trying not to b lazy)..

Growingbeanno2 · 29/11/2016 15:39

Hello all,

I haven't been on for a while. Been struggling with my anxiety which had been under control but I finished work and bam!

Anyway, section is booked for the 14th, 3 days before due date which would be fine except that DS came at 38 wks so I'm freaked.

To add to the waters convo, I remember mine smelling like a mix of bleach and sperm.

My back is so fucked, anyone else feel like their leg(s) dont have the strength to carry them anymore?

Anyway, I promised myself I wouldn't come on and whinge.

Anyone on weekly scans?

Bigfam · 29/11/2016 16:03

My waters went with my third before anything else started, I'd got up at midnight to wee and when I got into bed felt a trickle, stood up and there was more, no gush or anything just a steady trickle. I left a trail round the house as I was pacing around on the phone to the hospital.

Hoping baby does stay put until next friday now, the next few nights are going to be awful.

Hope you find a way to manage your anxiety beanno and that you're OK

I was unsure whether it was my waters or not too as wasn't a lot of water and came in 3 small gushes. Mine was pinky but the hospital still thought I'd got stress incontinence. It's hard to tell I think but if in doubt ring the midwives x

Growingbeanno2 · 29/11/2016 16:55

Thanks fam, in my last pg I was on antidepressants due to a long standing disorder. I worked really hard to get of my meds for this pregnancy which has been fab and I'm pleased but I since going on matleave I have struggled. Mainly because I'm symptom spotting for labour. I went into labour 6hrs after finishing work last time!!(btw massive gush of waters 2hrs before contractions!)

I have a section planned now but I've become really worried about going into labour. Less about the labour as I know they'll just rush me to theatre but more about having to ask for help from friends for help with ds. My family are 2hrs away and so plan a is to call a friend who has said she'll be offended if I don't call her but it still feels stressful.

I have been using a meditation app which has really helped.

Anyway, not about me. Have we had any early babies yet?

Lovewatchingrainfall · 29/11/2016 17:20

How do people cope when they have a newborn and an ill toddler. I'm not due for another 2weeks but I have just found out my toddler now needs to see a cardiologist before Christmas. She has other major health needs and this has just come as such a shock to us. Im not sure how I will cope when this baby comes along.

MrsJoJo · 29/11/2016 18:08

No time to catch up on thread but for those of you not on FB I had my baby boy on Friday 25 Nov at 11.26am by scheduled section (my blood pressure spiked so I decided against a VBAC). He weighed 7lb 14... no name yet!!

SouthDownsSunshine · 29/11/2016 18:13

rainfall I don't know how we'll cope with the reverse situation to you (healthy toddler, poorly baby), but I am fortunate that my husband works part time. We've had to put life on hold this last 8 days. I'm sure you will cope, I've found family really great at stepping in, and the kindness of things like the Ronald Mcdonald house helps no end (and makes me a bit emotional!)

goinggrey1978 · 29/11/2016 18:48

MrsJoJo congratulations on your new bundle!! a fantastic weight and he looks really relaxed, what a handsome young man!!

Chookchick · 29/11/2016 18:48

Congrats MrsJoJo he is yummy!

Led2012 · 29/11/2016 21:26

I am happy to annouce that our little boy Callum (full name still to be decided) was welcomed into the world yesterday evening at 19:20 weighing 5lb 5oz. He was born 3 weeks early via induction due to his growth issues and my blood pressure problems. Currently being kept in the hospital until my blood pressure settles down.

Bigfam · 30/11/2016 06:05

Congratulations led hopefully your bp improves soon and you'll all be home together.
