We maxed out our last thread before starting a new one.
I'm not savvy like kitkat so can't post our list either! Hopefully there will be some ba's before this thread is completed.

They might not like the pre made bottles as there is a bit of sugar in them, whereas powder doesn't have as much or none at all.
40 weeks tomorrow. How do I get this little one to get a wriggle on.

DartmoorDoughnut · 27/11/2016 21:42

Have a sweep?! Or tweak your nipples and have some sex Grin .. good luck!

Londonmamabychance · 27/11/2016 22:05

Hello everyone, hope you're all okay with various pains and niggles! At least we're getting near due dates, all of us Smile

Big congrats, Nurse! Sounds like a good labour, although of course a bit surprising!

Goinggreggy that sounds really tough. I hope they agree to do earlier sweepers based on the state you're in now. With my DD I had a really anxious pregnancy due to loads of emotional stress from other areas of my life, and it made me super paranoid about movement (also didn't feel a lot) and went in to be listened to in total I think 4 times. Each time everything was fine. After the 4th time I was just 39 weeks, and the consultant wanted to induce me simply because they thought I'd been worried for so long and perhaps it was better just to get the baby out! Had to convince them not to do it and eventually had DD naturally a week later. Just to say, show them how upset you are etc and don't put on a brave face, hopefully they'll listen!

Finally managed to sleep last night after two horrific nights awake where I had something like a mini-breakdown. Was pacing around the flat and in and out and bed with a pacing heart and crying. Think it was caused by me doing too much and putting too much pressure on myself and not feeling prepared for the baby. But now I managed to relax, and also had some acupuncture yesterday which really helped my anxiety. So feel much better now.

Look after yourself, everyone! Cake

SouthDownsSunshine · 27/11/2016 22:05

I'm using the sterilising bags in scbu, they're great! Put the clean things in, pop it in the microwave for 3 minutes, done.

They also use the ready made bottles in scbu, so they can't be that bad!

Baby Sunshine has done really well today, lots of being alert and nice stable stats. Heart doctor appointment tomorrow - hoping it goes well.

I hope your baby arrives early naturally goinggrey. I do not miss being pregnant!

firawla · 28/11/2016 00:53

This fell off my threads I'm on, so place marking to get it back! Need to read back and catch up although have been keeping up to date with some in the FB group.
37 weeks today here, and have been busy clearing stuff out so the stairs for our loft can go in tomorrow - so my back is killing me!! Hopefully off to look at buggies tomorrow as still haven't bought ours!

Lovewatchingrainfall · 28/11/2016 05:33

Another weird question, not sure if I should be concerned.

I noticed I have hamster cheeks last night. A google search points to salivary glands. Not sore, I don't feel unwell, I just have puffy bits on my face. Any ideas?

Thisisbonkers · 28/11/2016 08:04

Good luck with the heart doctor south!

duxb · 28/11/2016 08:39

Sunshine hope all goes well with the heart doctor.

Have no idea about milk at my hospital, hoping to breastfeed but not sure whether to buy some of those pre-sterilised bottles &I have them in the car, just incase or whether to chance it and if need be, Send someone out for some?

I now firmly believe that all the old "tales" of bringing on labour are just that - tales. I'm 40+2 today and at my last MW appointment was told baby was incredibly low so it could be whenever. I've been walking the dog more, on my gym ball, had a vindaloo and made some spicy noodle soup, had sex and nothing. The intensity of my braxton Hicks hasn't even increased.

Due at MW again tomorrow afternoon for a sweep and to book my induction in. I'm SO eager to meet baby and so frustrated with all the "is baby here yet?" "any news?" Etc messages that are only going to get worse. Urgh.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 28/11/2016 09:42

Dubx that must be so annoying! I keep getting messages like that and I am only 38weeks today!

I heard walking up hills/ slopes not on flat is the best. I do think that baby will come when it will come.

Have finally finished my Christmas shopping all I need to do now is wrap it up.

Theaks · 28/11/2016 09:45

duxb I have tried the pineapple, sex, bouncing, walking and curry. I agree don't seem to work. Baby will come when he/she sees fit. I am also getting the regular texts from people- mmmmmm you would think that if there was any news I would have said. Feeling a bit low today. Really hoped baby would have come before due date. I'm worried that baby will keep me waiting.

Bumplovin · 28/11/2016 10:41

southdown do you have to buy the sterilising bags for the microwave in yourself. Ive been told to bring two bottles and a cleaning brush ive assumed the ward have some sort of equipment for sterilising?

StubbleTurnips · 28/11/2016 11:49

If you can pick up sterilising bags they are endlessly useful, I kept one in my changing bag last time for emergency bottles / dummy sterilising while out and about.

I've got the HIPP starter pack to put in the car so that's sorted in case BF doesn't work.

I had a pineapple a day last week in preparation, have another to eat today and I can't face it at all.

Bigfam · 28/11/2016 12:24

38+3 today, I'm now resigned to the fact that she'll come when she's good and ready. Have a sweep booked in for her due date, next friday, which is dp's birthday, he said he'd love to share his birthday with her 😊
Good luck to anyone with upcoming sweeps

Do you all feel your babies love as much as earlier? I'm 38 wks now and definitely
Feel movements have slowed down. They also seem
To be different, like much weaker and smaller.

Londonmamabychance · 28/11/2016 12:45

Move not love

OrianaBanana · 28/11/2016 13:02

Just back from an appointment to go over my last labour, SO interesting and useful if anyone has the opportunity and hasn't yet. I learned a lot and more importantly, it made me feel more prepared and positive about this time round.

37+3 here so about to start the pineapple, curry, raspberry leaf and walking regime, all the things that don't work Wink Apart from sex but as that doesn't work either I'm not feeling so bad about it!

duxb · 28/11/2016 13:12

Just incase anyone feels the need for this over the next few weeks......

Popskipiekin · 28/11/2016 13:16

Hello all, dropped off again. Lovely to hear more baby news. London I think my baby's movements are as frequent but "squirmier", more rolling than kicking - though I do still get some kicks. I had a mw appointment and mentioned he had always been quite lazy in his movements and she reiterated how important it was to come and see them if I was worried and that movements were not supposed to slow down as you got closer to your due date. So, as ever, you know what I'm going to say! Go and be monitored if you can, it wastes nobody's time.

Bigfam · 28/11/2016 13:46

I second what Popskipiekin said about movements. If in doubt, always call them.

Stubble A pineapple a day?? Shock I had some pineapple last week...but simply because I fancied pineapple. It certainly wasn't a whole one. The lady during the antenatal class mentioned that the pineapple would need to make contact with the cervix to work...not sure I want to try that. Grin
Where did you get the Hipp starter pack? The only place I was able to find was the Hipp website and it was about £18 there.

London He's moving as much as before, it's just more painful... I had mentioned "lazy days" to the midwife during the 34-week check and similar to Pop was told to contact them, even if I think he's only having a lazy day. He hasn't slowed down like that in the last four weeks, though...

StubbleTurnips · 28/11/2016 14:31

Mini Yep! 1 a day, I was told by our last NCT leader that you need loads, it gave me a sore tongue though Confused Grin DD has shared some!

I ordered that one from the Hipp website, it's only for hospital and convenience is worth it for me tbh. I'm planning on BF to start and if needs be will have powder in at home. I mixed fed last time, I'm undecided on whether to BF / Mix or bottles. Not having full supply due to surgery triggered PND, not looking forward to the post part hormones!!

Those of you being bothered by endless 'have you had that baby yet' messages could try directing people to this website:

South I hope it goes okay with the neonatal cardiologist. x
