rise due date buddy here too!
Tinned pineapple sound delicious right now

Adventuregame · 16/11/2016 16:54

Does anyone know if ice cream in restaurants are mostly not allowed - do you just have to ask if they are home made with raw eggs ?

Sipperskipper · 16/11/2016 17:17

adventure you can eat uncooked / runny eggs as long as they have the 'lion stamp' which assures standards.

One of the first things I checked as I am addicted to super runny poached eggs! MW confirmed its fine.

I guess you would have to ask the restaurant where their eggs are from.

I don't think ice cream is made with raw eggs anyway - think its very much like custard which is then frozen.

FoxMulder · 16/11/2016 17:43

Whoo hoo due date buddies rise and moo! Not that babies ever come on their due dates.

Proper Greek yoghurt I find quite good for sicky feelings. Very proteinous and filling.

Adventuregame · 16/11/2016 17:51

Thanks Sipper
Has anyone been watching 'Secret Life of 4 Year Olds' ? It's hilarious !!

RasperryInAMelon · 16/11/2016 18:19

Totally loving it Adventure! Although scaring me the thought of what my LO might turn out like! Haha!

RasperryInAMelon · 16/11/2016 18:23

Nelly written so well! Thank you for sharing Smile

growcookeat · 16/11/2016 19:01

Thanks gurtie - unfortunately I can't make it to London that weekend - I'm in Yorkshire but will keep my eyes open for any others. Nearly new sale sounds like it's worth a visit though - thanks for the tip missmoo!

Raspberry I wonder if being honest with her would work as a pp suggested (sorry can't remember who!) something like... I know that's how it was for you, I've found it different so far. It's quite worrying for me to keep thinking about it - can we talk about something else for a while? Hopefully she'll take the hint.

talulahbelle · 16/11/2016 19:01

Due on the 17th here as well, it's a popular date.
I'm another one that's still feeling sick, having better days though. Until today with DH home late and I've had to do the entire bath and bedtime routine. I'm shattered!

On another note, does anyone else fancy joining the facebook group we've got running? Now there's been a few more scans it would be nice to get to know people better. PM me if you do :)

Nurse15 · 16/11/2016 19:02

I'm also 14 weeks today!! Yay for due date buddies! Where you all at the red hot chilli peppers the day you got pregnant too?? Grin

newbieho · 16/11/2016 19:03

Hey Londoners!

I have got some meeting place suggestions at Victoria station on 24 Nov:

  • costa between platforms 7 and 8 ( there are quite a few tables available outside)
  • caffee ritazza close to Boots in the main hall (they don't have that many tables)
  • costa upstairs in the eating/ restaurants area (close to prezzo, cafe rouge etc) again we may struggle with tables availability on the day

Any other suggestions?

coxsorangepippin · 16/11/2016 19:15

raspberry I have a similar worry - a close, dear friend who knows she judges pregnant women, to the extent she 'couldn't help' glaring at a woman she saw with a small glass of cider and considered herself restrained for not saying anything! I know it's really going to damage our friendship if she pulls that on me so I haven't told her yet... Not sure how to do that conversation

MissMooMoo · 16/11/2016 19:24

nurse well I was in Canada and DH in England if I did indeed get pregnant on the dates that correspond with a May 17 due date!! I am due on the 20th by my dates but the guy doing the scan insists I must have my dates wrong by a few days.
I know exactly when I fell pregnant as only dtd a few times that cycle and got a pos test 10 days after the event so to speak. Im sure if I go over I won't be complaining that their dates are wrong.

1004Rise · 16/11/2016 19:51

I'm the same miss the dates add up to be due on the 17th, but I was thinking about it - do they count the scan in the same way as you being pregnant for 40 weeks when you aren't actually? In which case for me the 17th could be right... Does that make any sense? HmmConfused

1004Rise · 16/11/2016 19:52

**don't add up! Must read more carefully before posting!

MissMooMoo · 16/11/2016 20:26

I'm not sure what you mean rise
They use the 12 week scan to set your official due date.
The week of your AF and then the following week are still calculated in with the 40 weeks, technically you are only pregnant for 38 weeks.

1004Rise · 16/11/2016 22:09

Sorry, rubbish explanation.

I think what I meant was is the scan based on the 38 weeks or the 40 weeks... if it's the 38 weeks then I can't be due on the 17th... if it's the 40 I could be (definitely possibly overthinking this far too muchHmm)

Northernexile · 16/11/2016 22:10

I've been watching it too Adventure, I have a four year old and he insight is fascinating!

CinnamonTwist · 17/11/2016 06:06

Rise I think you are saying that based on when you think you conceived you wouldn't expect your due date to be the 17th? If so, it's worth baring in mind that the day you actually DTD is not necessarily the day you conceived; sperm can hang about for a surprisingly long time and the day you conceived is actually based on when you ovulated not when you DTD, which can vary (otherwise I wouldn't be pregnant right now - we thought we avoided my FW because we were advised to wait a month after MC; my BFP was a massive, but very happy, surprise!) Also, even if you know when you ovulated, it can take varying amounts of time for the fertilised egg to settle in the lining and develop into an embryo- which can affect the due date a little. Does that help/ is that what you meant?

teainbed · 17/11/2016 09:42

Yes what Cinammon said. Sperm can hang round for up to a week and implantation can vary from 6-12 days.

I'm in the same position as I was curious to know which weekend of two I'd conceived (DH was away). But it doesn't really matter as the scan date is the most accurate you can get.

MissMooMoo · 17/11/2016 09:45

Oh yes I know the scan is accurate!
Im sure they use 40 weeks as well, not 38.

I had a nightmare last night, that I woke up and there was blood everywhere in the bed and coming from me.
It was awful and exactly what happened when I had my miscarriage. I'm not sure what promted it as I have had no spotting/bleeding at all this pregnancy.

Flingmoo · 17/11/2016 09:50

I had a dream like that recently MissMooMoo although I've never miscarried. I think it was might have been triggered by having read quite a few sad stories here on Mumsnet.

On a lighter note, all this talk of sperm hanging around has given me a mental image of a load of sperm just chilling out waiting for their moment Grin

KLane · 17/11/2016 09:55

Hi everyone, figured it was about time to join in the discussion after following for a few weeks Smile. We're expecting our first on 16 May, and were told in no uncertain terms that it's a boy at the 12 week scan. I wouldn't have doubted the certainty at this stage, but we've got a rather immodest scan photo that is hard to argue with!

It's a bit early but we'd like to have a look around for prams in the hope of getting a good post-Christmas sale deal. Does anyone have any suggestions of a store with a wide pram selection in south/southeast London or Kent? We're booked in for a nursery service at the John Lewis Bluewater, but I already know that they don't have a few of the models I'm interested in!

Mustbecrazy123 · 17/11/2016 12:19

Hello everyone, just managed to catch up as I was pretty far behind on the thread! So great to see so many scans and 2x twins! I had my private gender scan last Saturday at 16+1, the experience was lovely and all my family was there and really enjoyed it and I got a lovely 4D picture. I'm having another little boy :) I did get quite a bit upset after I found out as I didn't want anymore and was really hoping for a girl but I'm happy that my DS will hopefully have a close brother bond.
