mightymouse you must be so relieved about the allergy, congrats! Still feeling/being sick here despite medication. But I'm fine with that because I'm much better than without the pills so just feel really grateful.

And such good news all round on all the scans!

I bought my first couple of maternity clothes - Seraphine, found a sale dress that I would genuinely wear without being pregnant Smile

Rabbitykins55 · 15/11/2016 21:14

Grow we have made a list of stuff we want so we can look out on Black Friday and January sales.

MrsJW15 · 15/11/2016 21:19

Grow I'm hoping to have a look in January sales. If we can get good deals then, I'd quite like to get a pram/travel system. Our 20 week scan is just after Christmas, so we'd do if after that. If there are no good deals, we'll wait.

Trinity I feel the same. Definitely bigger in the evenings but it's still there in the morning!

RasperryInAMelon · 15/11/2016 21:32

Ladies... I have a question...

What does the BPD measurement show? Mines sitting higher on the scale in the picture below, don't quite know what it means!?...

Barnes79 · 15/11/2016 21:36

Raspberry - BPD is basically the diameter of the babies head from (roughly) the top of one ear to the top of the other. It's used to help estimate the baby's weight.

mightymouse76 · 15/11/2016 21:55

Thanks cox and esme
Yes huge relief, I feel like I can lift my head up and dare to look forward a little now!

cox I hope the worst of it tapers off for you soon and glad the meds work enough to keep you functional.
Was it you mamushka who said something about wanting to shout at the nausea and tell it to sod off (or similar)?! That made me chuckle on a bad evening.

On a clothing note I'm pretty stuck-I live in trousers, no dresses or skirts, so I'm really buggered for choice now! I even had about 8 pairs of loose waisted trousers altered late summer (slow clap, great timing) so have been living in one silk boiler suit and some drawstring waist trews. Give it a couple more inches and DP's jeans are mineGrin

Jugoo28 · 15/11/2016 22:00

Scan all done here too :) new edd of 27 May. Have started telling family and friends so exciting!

Nice one jugoo!

Northernexile · 15/11/2016 22:40

Congratulations on all the lovely scan news everyone!

I'm really struggling to find any maternity clothes I like at the minute. Nearly 17 weeks now so need to get the bag down from the loft I think and do a bit of a stocktake. Saw a couple of nice tops on JoJo Maman Bebe (and there's 15% off at the mo) so might treat myself this week.

stationaryace · 15/11/2016 23:10

I didn't like any maternity stuff the first time (2.5 years ago) and it hasn't changed since. I was working last time in a semi-casual office so this time am investing in a few pairs of jeans - ideally overbump - and trying to find non-see through leggings which last longer than 3 wears. There's some regular clothes I accidentally stretched out last time, when I was clearly bigger than I realised, so I'm going to be the strangely overdressed pregnant mum at play groups Grin

Badgerbird · 15/11/2016 23:10

mamushka that's soooo sweet! Really hope I get to have 2 kids :)

mighty that's great news that tests have come back positive :) and yes I'm still feeling sick on and off, today was one of those days! Def not as much as before though.

Gave in and ordered myself a pair of cheapy maternity jeans. Just as well as I have just put my normal ones in the wash and doubt I'll ever get back into them Shock Have been using a hair bobble to do them up for the last 2 weeks as button wouldn't reach!!

Sleep well everyone :)

growcookeat · 16/11/2016 07:26

Yes Jan sales are a good plan for buying big items I think. DH is also following various items ready for Black Friday!

I wondered about going to a baby show - my friend went in the Autumn and said it was good to see everything under one roof. She got a good deal on a travel system. Due to Xmas the next ones seem to be late spring which I'm thinking might be a bit late if we don't get anything there?

Gurtie28 · 16/11/2016 08:13

grow I have had an email this morning about a baby show 19th/20th Nov in London. www.babytotoddlerevents.co.uk

MissMooMoo · 16/11/2016 09:57

I went to an NCT nearly new sale last week just to see what they were all about and what they had.
TONS of baby stuff is what! They also had a maternity rack and I got two Isabella Oliver tops for £2.50 each, steal!

14 weeks today for me and I have so much more energy, really looking forward to the holidays, my parents will be over from Canada and I can't wait to see them.

Love all the scan photos. I have a feeling my little one is a boy, don't know why! DH and I always say 'he' when talking about baby.

We will probably look at prams after Christmas, DH aunt has offered to buy us one so that is lucky! She has no children of her own and is beyond excited to be a "granny" she is Dh mum's sister, unfortunately his mum passed away when he was 7 so she is very much like a mum to him.

RasperryInAMelon · 16/11/2016 10:04

Help please! I have the loveliest friend, who is a mummy to a gorgeous 2yo DC.

She's great, and is checking in on me almost daily etc. But it's becoming a little annoying... are you eating enough, you need to do this, you shouldn't do that... etc etc... anyone would think she's super nanny.

Like I say, I love her to bits and I know she means well, but it's doing my head in and making me feel VERY overwhelmed to the point it's had me in tears this morning.

Anyone had experience of anything like this? Sad

MissMooMoo · 16/11/2016 10:56

God no that sounds so annoying!
Id probably start ignoring her msgs or taking days to respond.

mommathatwearspink · 16/11/2016 11:02

Lovely news about your scans ladies!

I haven't been around here much since the first/second thread but I'm back after a busy few weeks. 16+1 today and I have my midwife appointment this afternoon. Currently recovering from a nasty sickness bug so hoping everything is ok!

MrsJW15 · 16/11/2016 11:16

Raspberry that sounds really annoying, I'm not surprised you are struggling. I don't really know how best to deal though. Perhaps just start taking a while to reply and see if she gets the hint?

1004Rise · 16/11/2016 11:20

Rasperry that sounds hard. Maybe just being honest is the best way to go, just say you appreciate the advice but you're finding the whole pregnancy thing overwhelming at the moment and you appreciate talking about "normal" stuff... blame it all on hormones Hmm

Streaky17 · 16/11/2016 11:54

That sucks raspberry. Good advice so far - best of luck. You could also point out that every pregnancy is different.

missmoomoo can you just turn up to the NCT sales? I've had a look on line and there is one close to me next weekend. Surprisingly few in Bristol though.

MissMooMoo · 16/11/2016 12:18

streaky yes they are open to everyone! I think they open 15 minutes beforehand for members.
It was a suggested donation of £1 to get in.

teainbed · 16/11/2016 12:38

Raspberry everyone is an expert when you're pregnant. Unwelcome advice is common from everyone even strangers! If she doesn't back off soon maybe say something, she probably considers herself experienced because she's got a small child already! But she's not an expert in you or your pregnancy or baby. I think finding your own way in these matters is important!

I was at the midwife today (16 weeks) and heard the heartbeat so that was nice. Thankfully I don't have to go back as I get seen at the hospital antenatal clinic every two weeks. But will see the afterwards obviously so it was worth going.

Ordered a few bits from Gap and Jojo yesterday. My sister also dropped off some clothes so hopefully should see me through the winter

FoxMulder · 16/11/2016 12:43

Yeah I'm still feeling sick too mighty. Heaps better than before and getting out now but still feel hideous. 14 weeks today though, whoop! Congratulations on your little boy!

Flingmoo · 16/11/2016 13:17

mightymouse76 Yes that was me Grin I'm sick of feeling sick. Definitely a lot better than it was a few weeks ago but still a drag. Seems to get worse in the afternoons for some reason despite eating plenty.

It's just infuriating because there's nothing you can actually do to get rid of the nausea. It's just there, nearly all the time. That's why I want to shout at it!

1004Rise · 16/11/2016 14:19

Fox we must be due date buddies, I'm 14 weeks today too! Shock

I still feel sick too and more in the afternoon but much better than it was... my random recent cure is tinned pineapple... it seems to get rid of that pre sick taste... although eating it halfway through pasta and sauce is a bit weird!
