Cinnamon - burning skin brings up your body temp like a warm/hot bath, so you'll have to work extra hard to keep cool for baby and drink extra so your skin can use some of the extra water and you don't dehydrate. - thats the advice I got last year, so hope it's still relevant! Hope you're not too burnt.
Adventure- I was thinking along your lines for an extra tag line on this group, but I figured it probably wouldn't last the month so I couldn't think of anything short and witty enough in my sick and tired state! Grin

adventure thanks for the thought! You must be less clumsy than me, when I tried biscuits in foil they ended up as a layer of sawdust all over my handbag - oops

Would totally eat a sandwich when the bean decides it's starving. Maybe I need to get all famous five and carry round hard boiled eggs Grin

Rise nice to have someone on the right side of the border Wink You're probably a couple of hours and some big hills away from me waves

Trying to push myself to actually get things done now as we've got most of the house left to decorate since moving in two years ago and I can't imagine it being very likely with 2 distractions. Sitting down in the evenings is too tempting, must resist...

RasperryInAMelon · 13/11/2016 22:19

Stationary I'm with you on that... we managed to get the Lounge, Kitchen and our Bedroom done last year and have done nothing this year other than put up 4 photo frames!

We have three rooms left to do... toilet, bathroom and the nursery - I've picked out tiles for the bathroom and have got a few wallpaper swatches up in the nursery but have done sod all other than that! Must crack on if we're going to get the bathroom done before the baby arrives!

Northernexile · 13/11/2016 22:32

Hello everyone! Nice to see you all on the shiny new thread. Have my 16wk appt tomorrow to collect my notes and get my blood test results. Hoping I might get to hear the heartbeat too. I don't get any kind of screening here in NI so trying not to worry about that side of things.

Feeling pretty un-pregnant at the moment, no queasiness or tiredness now, but I'm getting he odd little flicker that I think is movement. Going to try and hold off telling DDs until after 20 week scan which is 4 weeks tomorrow.

Anyone else get twanging feelings in their stomach muscles of they lift anything heavy (like 2 year olds!)? Really unnerving!

I found little snack packs of Ritz biscuits were handy to carry for emergency munch purposes.

RasperryInAMelon · 13/11/2016 22:44

I can't remember who asked, but here's the back of the packet for M&S Maternity Tights!

Northernexile my stomach muscle didn't like me moving manure bags from front to the back garden. DH told me off tooBlush

Barnes79 · 13/11/2016 22:58

Just place marking really. I'd normally be asleep already but I'm worrying about my first scan on Thurs instead. OH is busy snoring next to me...Confused

Jugoo28 · 14/11/2016 05:57

Eep first scan tomorrow, currently 12+2 but looking forward to seeing the baby and having it all confirmed. Also tricking my body into loving some veggies by drinking a green smoothie, baby wasn't keen on the home made pizza we had cooked! In NZ so different time zones.

RasperryInAMelon · 14/11/2016 07:47

Shit shit shit... woke up this morning all seemed fine. Went to get ready for work and have had searing period type pain since about 7.15

I have my scan tomorrow, but don't know whether I should contact my Midwife anyway today?

mightymouse76 · 14/11/2016 08:11

Hi everyone
Raspberry, ring them for sure, it's what they're there for. I did the same on Friday... can you rest for a couple of hours so you feel more comfortable?

Adventuregame · 14/11/2016 08:17

Raspberry yes call your midwife - they might fot you in today. Is it your 12 week scan tomorrow ? You've had an early scan already haven't you ? Hope the pain passes and it's just ligaments !!

Adventuregame · 14/11/2016 08:17

*Fit you in today

RasperryInAMelon · 14/11/2016 08:20

No resting - on my way into work, busy day ahead between running a new cohort of employees through induction and meeting with senior bosses over from Singapore - I don't think I'd be able to get away from work for an early scan either tbh Sad

It's certainly not as bad as it was, I'm hoping it's either ligament stretching or Blush constipation

Can't stomach eating at the moment either, I'm starving but just ate a piece of apple and nearly puked

Will call once I get to work even just for piece of mind

RasperryInAMelon · 14/11/2016 08:21

Yes - 12 week scan tomorrow - will be 12+4 and had an early scan at 8+5 and all seemed fine then

Barnes79 · 14/11/2016 08:29

Raspberry - I hope your midwife can give you some reassurance. If you're concerned tell your boss and go for the early scan - you need to put yourself first.

I had similar pains last week for 2 hours but found they disappeared when I ate. Perhaps it's just some intestinal spasm or something...?

Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

EsmesBees · 14/11/2016 08:31

Give them a call and try and take it easy at work Raspberry. Even it if it round ligament pain, they tend to ease off when you have a rest.

Northern yes I'm getting those twangs when lifting my toddler. Reminds me of this cartoon from the Hurrah for Gin blog...

Wish it's not too bad and only below my knees - rest of me was in the shade and I hadn't realised that bit was in the sun! Think it's probably ok, I'll just be extra careful from now on. Thought I was already mind you.

Raspberry hope everything is ok, try not to worry if you've got a busy day and can't do anything, it's probably just wind (I keep getting that and it can be surprisingly painful, maybe due to lack of room in there now!) hopefully if you have a busy day it will take your mind off it. At least with your scan tomorrow you don't have to worry for too long. Fx it's all fine and no reason to worry Flowers

Adventuregame · 14/11/2016 10:27

Is anyone else freezing cold most of the time ?

Sipperskipper · 14/11/2016 10:44

Thanks for new thread!

Spam88 · 14/11/2016 11:07

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow, so nervous that things won't be ok :( also absolutely no idea how I'm going to hold my bladder. I'm somewhat renowned for having to wee all the time, even before pregnancy.

Hope everything turns out to be okay raspberry, I'm sure it is :)

And I've been getting pains if I stand up too quickly after sitting all cwtched up or if I stretch too much, which I assume is just ligaments and what not? Can't say I've been getting pains when lifting heavy things but I've been trying to avoid that (I'm extremely weak anyway so pregnancy seems like an excellent excuse to make someone else do it).

Adventuregame · 14/11/2016 11:12

spam are you in Wales ? Cwtched !! I'm not but my DH is so we go there a lot !

Nurse15 · 14/11/2016 11:13

northernexile I'm also from NI! Hi :) what area are you?

MrsJW15 · 14/11/2016 11:30

Hello, just catching up from the last couple of days! I'm also London - north east, so MissMoo possibly near you. I can't do 24th, but would love to meet you all next time.

Raspberry hope everything is ok. Cinnamon I keep getting pains which I'm fairly sure is wind. The glamour of pregnancy!

I'm very happy in some new Dorothy Perkins mat trousers today. Still struggling to find leggings that I really like though - a lot seem to have a very tight band around the top which I'm not keen on.
