I talk to my baby, usually general chit chat, not exciting but does help me feel closer to it.

I hear the heartburn about one a week that's amazing and also feeling it kick def helps as well.

Flingmoo · 24/11/2016 08:17

I find it hard chatting to my bump myself but my toddler loves saying "hello baby, hello baby, hello baby! Love you baby!" to my belly Grin

EsmesBees · 24/11/2016 08:22

Your toddler sounds adorable mamushka

newbieho · 24/11/2016 08:27

Hi Londoners, see you later at Costa Victoria station between platforms7 and 8. I have small blue handbag and backpack. If anyone would like to join please feel free to come and say hello Smile

1004Rise · 24/11/2016 08:34

I'm still in the surreal camp too... even though I'm still having sick days, I don't even think I believed it when I had the 12 week scan because I was so focused on the fact it's heart was beating....I haven't even considered that it will be a person Shock

I love the fact your toddler keeps talking to your belly Mamushka

I will do bump photos later... no where near as impressive as yours... I can still see my feet at 15 weeks so I either have big feet or a small bump!! Smile

Autumnsweater · 24/11/2016 08:47

Mamushka that's adorable!!

Savage that's good to know thanks! Seems an insane amount to me so early on but I guess it's 3 1/2 months I'm just in denial Grin

Esme that's so good to hear about SPL I don't know anyone in real life who has done it and some people I've mentioned it to have been funny about it Hmm.
We're thinking of a similar split too approx 10/2 - did initially want to do 6/6 but won't work with DH's work this year.

I think it's sensible to be a bit detached. Protective almost. It's your own body that needs nurturing in pregnancy. I just feel for me until I'm holding the baby and we're both fine it's hard to really imagine him or her being there!

I just read something really sad about somebody who was on this thread for a while, it really hits home that whilst we're mostly over the most dangerous bit there is a long way to go. Sad

FoxMulder · 24/11/2016 09:29

Any ideas where I can get nude tights other than asos then if they're no good?? Mind you, I only need them to last one wear.

RasperryInAMelon · 24/11/2016 09:47

Fox I got some maternity ones from ASOS

RasperryInAMelon · 24/11/2016 09:48

Fox scratch that, total baby brain, read ASOS and wrote it... what I meant to say was, I got maternity tights from M&S

MrsJW15 · 24/11/2016 10:08

Badger I was complaining to my husband this morning that I looked fat in my dress. He kept saying "you're not fat, you're pregnant" but it's definitely hard. People keep telling me that I don't look pregnant - but maybe like I've had a big meal, which is not that helpful! I can still see my toes though, and I'm 16 weeks tomorrow.

1004Rise · 24/11/2016 10:25

My very small bump at 15 weeks... can see most of my feet not just toes!

It's weird because my normal trousers and leggings feel tight, I think I have more shape change than anything. We were out at the weekend with the dogs and I had to put the braces on my waterproof trousers because they done close by about 2 inches.

Fox also try boots for tights, I like their normal ones anyway and found the maternity ones comfortable.

Newbie see you at 6ish!

FoxMulder · 24/11/2016 12:04

I looked on M&S website but could only find one pair and they are black??

FoxMulder · 24/11/2016 12:07

Re: not feeling a bond with bump, I don't either and I didn't with DS. I was so shocked to be handed a baby after giving birth that I fainted. Granted, that may have had something to do with the blood loss, but I was pretty shocked!

1004Rise · 24/11/2016 13:43

I got all excited when I found these tights in multi colours but they have none other than black in my size but maybe you lovely ladies may be luckier fromheretomaternity.co.uk/product-category/maternity-tights-and-support/

SK28 · 24/11/2016 14:34

Mamushka - that's adorable, how old is your toddler? I didn't think my 22mo understood anything about it but yesterday she patted my bump and said 'baby' a few times Smile

My bump definitely looks like a bump now at 17+2. As someone else said, weirdly I'm not actually putting on any weight though, which I'm a bit worried about because I feel enormous...

Missfab2000 · 24/11/2016 14:46

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie to the group although been reading since the beginning! 👋🏻 here's my 13 week scan! Is there a Facebook group you all belong to?

Flingmoo · 24/11/2016 14:49

He is just coming up to 2.5 SK28. He's quite perceptive for his age. I doubt he fully understands though, he probably thinks we're just playing a silly game at this stage!

With regard to the bonding with bump thing... I'm not sure what this mythical 'bond' really means to be honest! After all, when you look down it's just a larger-than-usual belly that you see. A bump doesn't have a face or a personality or anything to bond with. So I wouldn't feel bad about not feeling one. Besides, I'm sure most of us would feel devastated to lose the baby at this stage - surely that fact alone constitutes a 'bond'?

savagehk · 24/11/2016 15:12

Mamushka my almost 4yo is also saying hello to my bump in the mornings. Hope it gets him used to the idea of a baby eventually arriving! We've also read a bit about how babies grow etc from some of his books (first encyclopaedia type things, about my body etc).

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 24/11/2016 15:30

Mamushka your boy is so adorable!

DS (2.8) did a little excited twirl around the kitchen when we told him and he came to my bump and said "let me hear".

I think he does understand a little bit what it's all about, quite a few of his nursery friends have mums with big bellies/baby siblings and he's been talking about babies a lot recently.

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 24/11/2016 15:41

Does anyone have stomachache? It's been really bothering me for the past two days and I can't work out why it can be.

I still have nausea in the morning a little but this is like having a stone inside my stomach. It's different from heartburn as well, which is acidic-y.

Googling doesn't help at all!

PeachIcedT · 24/11/2016 17:21

Those meeting today, I'm never good at locating people at the best of times, so if you see someone in a tan coat with a hood, that's most likely me Smile

Autumnsweater · 24/11/2016 17:37

Hi MissFab Smile

Lovely scan photo!
