Any joiners?

This will be dc2. Edd of July 2nd.

Not one symptom yet. Going to enjoy that and hope it lasts!

I'm roughly 7+3 according to the scan I had yesterday and it was just a blob. Our blob, that made me cry my heart out but just a blob. I can't imagine it will be much at 6 weeks it won't be much. But internally it'll be better. I needed my partner there as he's my absolute rock. Same, I never even thought about him not being there. It's quite dignified in respect of you having a paper towel over your lap so he won't see what's going on Smile hope that helps a little.

whycanineverthinkofausername · 27/11/2016 22:21

Sorry if none of my messages come across making much sense, I'm so heavily sleep deprived atm! Confused

whyistherumgone · 27/11/2016 23:22

Good luck to everyone who has scans coming up! Will be keeping everything crossed for you all.

Little bit worried as my symptoms seem to be disappearing - tiredness comes and goes, but I work
from home so my days are a lot less taxing than most people's!

seahawk I hear hormones in the second trimester will more than make up for the first ;) I've been too tired and gross to want to do much so sex hasn't been an issue although we've been doing other stuff IYSWIM so maybe you can get round it that way?

Well it's a new week, hope it's a good one for everyone.

Seahawk80 · 28/11/2016 08:34

Ha ha thanks rum. My symptoms massively come and go. Saturday - Wednesday last week I felt fine - so of course I worried. By Friday I felt so awful I could barely function!

MrsBobDylan · 28/11/2016 11:06

Had a scan today and baby isn't growing as expected and heartbeat is slower and just a flicker. Had a scan 2 weeks 4 days ago and in that time it's gone from 5 weeks to six weeks which probably isn't good news as I'm meant to be 7+4.

We've got another scan in a week, but am signing off for now as I'm going to concentrate on ignoring the whole thing as that's really the only coping mechanism I have.

Good luck to all, enjoy the journey!

whycanineverthinkofausername · 28/11/2016 11:11

Mrsbob- I'm so sorry to hear that, I'm sending you all my love & thoughts. I've got my fingers crossed for you x

Miami81 · 28/11/2016 11:33

Mrsbob. So sorry for you. We are in the same boat. It is very difficult. Be kind to yourself. Big hugs. Xx

Miami81 · 28/11/2016 11:36

Ladies just so you know I spoke to epu this morning, they were very kind and I am seeing them either later today or first thing tomorrow. They did advise that reassurance scans should really only be done from around 8.5wks on. The lady said that everything is very hard to measure and judge up to that point. Just thought those of you planning scans soon should know that. Ta xx

Popularcontrarian · 28/11/2016 11:37

MrsBob I'm sorry to hear things aren't going as expected. Keep strong.x

I'm all over the place myself. Keep thinking I'm mc-ing again. Not sure if I have symptoms anymore and my boobs aren't sore at all.

I did a test on Saturday and it came back really light which completely freaked me out (I was 6+5 on Saturday, 7 weeks today). Then I read about a thing called the hook effect which means tests can't handle really high HCG when you're further along and give you a light test as a result. I then diluted my wee (pregnancy makes you mad!!) and then another test came back really dark! that made me feel better for a few hours until the doubt started to set in again.

My husband says I'm going to talk myself into a miscarriage! Argh. Head is so wrecked. Friday's scan can't come soon enough.

Popularcontrarian · 28/11/2016 11:38

Good to hear they're seeing you again so quickly Miami, hopefully you have an answer either way. Being in limbo is horrible x

Bloopbleep · 28/11/2016 12:30

Woke up this morning with no symptoms and cramping. There's no spotting but that doesn't stop me worrying. Waiting on epu to call me back. 9w today :(

Seahawk80 · 28/11/2016 12:37

That sounds good Miami fx for you. I know that when I had a scan at 7 weeks they took ages to find the embryo and then yesterday at 9 they saw it straight away so I agree it must be so hard to see and measure early on.

Fx for you too Mrs Bob really hope they have just got measurements gone.

Popular I could have written that a couple of weeks ago. Also freaked myself out with a lighter test and my boobs really come and go so please don't worry!

Popularcontrarian · 28/11/2016 12:45

Thanks seahawk and congrats on the positive scan you had the other day :)
Was just reading there that if you've breastfed before you might not get sore boobs second time round. That's made me feel a bit better.

My boobs have changed a lot since I finished breastfeeding, so I think there's room in them to grow again. In fairness I'm only finished breastfeeding about 6 months so maybe they're ready to lock and load?!

Wish I didn't analyse everything...

whyistherumgone · 28/11/2016 12:51

Morning everyone.
MrsBob I'm sorry to hear this but, based on what Miami has said, I'm hoping it's just the earliness of the scans and not a problem. I think your coping mechanism is a good one, but I'll be thinking of you this week and hoping you get good news at your next scan.

Miami that's great that you're going in early, do let us know how you get on, will keep everything crossed for you. Hopefully the fact that your midwife said that about scans means that it won't necessarily be bad news.

Popular I know what you mean, I'm normally ridiculously laid back but have been a nervous wreck since I found out and it's exhausting. Convincing yourself something is wrong/something is going to go wrong is just mentally draining and makes it difficult to concentrate on anything else. Hopefully the fact that most of us are feeling this way means it's perfectly normal.

Seahawk80 · 28/11/2016 13:14

Hi bloop sorry to hear that. I hope you're ok. I'm 9 weeks too and have had cramps the last 4 days, my symptoms also come and go - am feeling normal today. Hopefully it's all fine - good luck with the epu. Will keep everything crossed for you.

whyistherumgone · 28/11/2016 13:32

Missed your post bloop just wanted to echo what Seahawk said really, hope everything is OK.

Spindelina · 28/11/2016 13:57

For those of you with cramping - just to say, first time round I had crampy type pain. I think it was ligaments stretching. No complications at all with that pregnancy. My understanding is that crampy pain is only a bad sign if it is one sided (may indicated ectopic), or very bad, or accompanied by blood.

And both times I've miscarried, the blood came before the cramps.

em165 · 28/11/2016 13:58

Ive also heard that very early scans can be difficult to measure, find a heartbeat etc. The place i'm booked in at (who did my early scan with my little boy) only scan from 8 weeks and we're booked in for 9+2. I think they scanned me at 8 weeks last time. Im off work sick today with a sore throat, sore ears, high temperature and I feel sick every time I cough (which is A LOT). Im so relieved its nursery day for my little one so I can just stay in bed all day and sleep. I had him for an hour this morning before nursery during which he jumped up and down on my tummy, spilt my tea over my hand and was then sick in his box of wooden bricks. That hour was enough for me whilst i'm feeling like this!

Bloopbleep · 28/11/2016 15:04

Thanks all -I have booked a private scan for this evening to check as epu were useless. They Suggested taking a pregnancy test and paracetamol because I had to have an scan to check location at 6weeks they're not interested unless the GP re-refers me.

I hope everyone else is doing well and coping with nausea etc! :)

Seahawk80 · 28/11/2016 15:32

Good luck bloop I think epu can really depend on who you get on the phone - they've always been great in person but I spoke to someone with no empathy who just gave me instructions like a robot the first time I called.

whycanineverthinkofausername · 28/11/2016 15:39

The same as Seahawk, bloop, I think it's who you speak to. When my midwife said she was referring me she told me not to get my hopes up as I was earlier than 8 weeks and they can be funny. Yet the next day at 8am I get a phone call and they're nice as pie and want to rush me in that morning. Nothing like what I had imagine from what the midwife had said.

I had my booking in appointment earlier today. Went on for 1 hour but midwife could not draw any blood. I was dehydrated and there was nothing coming out of my veins. Going to try again on Thursday morning; I will down a gallon of water to hopefully plump up my veins.

DamsonGinIsMyThing · 28/11/2016 16:47

Oh gosh what a hard day for some of us Flowers to those who need them
notyet my EDD is 7/7/17 for the list.
I've had to pluck up the courage to ring my new boss and let her know I've gone and got myself pregnant. I start my new job on Monday next week so it's bloody bad timing.

Seahawk80 · 28/11/2016 17:05

Oh no damson hope it went ok!

DamsonGinIsMyThing · 28/11/2016 17:39

seahawk yeah she was good about it, said congratulations. I'll be working four days a week and she's given me my day off on the day of my booking in appointment which is good of her.
Though my new job is a scrub nurse so I'm not sure how well I'm going to manage trying not to get a big bump in the way of my sterile equipment field!
