I've been looking for this thread in the wrong place Blush. It wasn't on "I'm on" so I've been looking in the pregnancy section! Doh!

I don't think there's anything you can do to prevent stretch marks, it all depends on your skin. I had stretch marks at 9, under my arms, behind my knees and on my boobs, and later on my hips.

DMIL has had five pregnancies and doesn't have one stretch mark!

I've got my 12 week scan tomorrow (I'm 12 weeks today based on LMP, that was a slight guess but only a few days either side). I'm very nervous. I always am. I don't ever get many symptoms and the slight nausea I had a few weeks ago has gone completely and although I know that's normal it's hard not to worry.

Damson9 · 07/11/2016 15:13

Hello ladies. Wow, somehow, I've not been on here in weeks and there was so much to catch up on! Ok, I'll admit I didn't read all the last thread, but I have had a quick read though this one to catch up.

Thinking of you all, whether for sad news or happy moments xx

I'm 14+3 now. We had our 12-week scan a couple of weeks ago and all was well. We had an early private scan that had dated me three days behind where I thought I was, but this one had me bang on time again, so my official EDD is 5 May.

Baby sat still while the sonographer took all the required measurements, then had a bit of a wiggle round and gave us a wave before rolling over to moon us! The associated blood tests came back fine and we're just about 'out' now - we told the rest of my family this weekend and I've made my office announcement this morning :)

I've been feeling so much better these last couple of weeks - I haven't felt this unpregnant in ages! Still pretty tired, though!

My two pennies on a couple of things I saw in passing... cinnamon twist, we didn't get to hear the heartbeat at our 12-weeks scan either, but could see it. I have an anterior placenta, though, so I'm wondering if that might hinder the sound somehow - I know it will make feeling kicks from outside later than average, so perhaps it's related? Also, I have a friend that swears by Connecta baby slings, although I think they're a bit pricy.

Gurtie, Boots do some blackcurrant glycerin throat pastilles that are safe to munch while pregnant, and kind of taste like sweeties :) hope you're feeling better soon.

Anyone after bio oil, if you have a card, or know someone that has, you can pick it up on Costco for half the usual price (well, two for the same price you'd normally pay for one). It's something like two for under £20. It's the real thing, too - I think there have been a spate of fakes on Amazon, from what I've seen recently.

And finally, feel like I've written an epic, did a Facebook group get created for this community? Is it a secret group? I'd quite like to join as I think it would be easier for me to keep up with that than I manage here, but we haven't gone public on social media so would need to be stealthy. Like a pregnant ninja...

TheTantrumCometh · 07/11/2016 15:17

Ah how lovely mcbaby

Glad they're so excited. My dd and ds are the same age as your girls and I'm not sure ds will understand. We're expecting dd to be very excited but I'm trying to prepare myself in case she's not!

Thank you so much for all your advice everyone. I am literally going to try everything you have suggested - feel so poorly still.
Can't help getting myself upset as I know my baby is so tiny and relying on me - if I feel this bad, what must my baby be feeling. I know it's a mix of pregnancy hormones and a high temperature making me a tad emosh Blush poor hubby doesn't know what to do with himself!!!

Badgerbird · 07/11/2016 17:19

Blimey crazy I'm very impressed!!! I used to do military fitness boot camp, running and yoga. Loved it. Then having been preggers on and off 3 times over past year (and recovering from mc's, nervous etc) I have lost my fitness :( I've def not been upto exercising much this pregnancy, got Pregnancy yoga DVD and hoping to start a class this week. Been out for a few walks but they are shorter than I'm used to as they wipe me out in the eve. I know things will change though so not gonna stress it. Are you looking to join yoga class?

Pugsymalone · 07/11/2016 17:23

Hello!
Pugsymalone 19 #1 Due 25th May

Im far too excited , had a scan last week at 10w1d as had a tiny bleed and the bean was fine! Strong heartbeat, have another scan this friday for reassurance but I must say im quite ️nervous that the heartbeat will be gone :( im currently 11w5days and symptoms have disappeared in the last two days ️no more morning sickness although doc said this was normal but it's added to my anxiousness! Hope someone can throw some posititvity my way

lucieloos · 07/11/2016 17:28

Just had the harmony results back and all 3 trisomys are low risk less than 1 in 10000 for each or 0.01%. Such a relief the waiting for scans and tests is agonising in this process! 12 week scan a week tomorrow and then I might actually start to believe this is happening!

Badgerbird · 07/11/2016 17:28

Oh gurtie that's horrid Hun :( please try not to worry, you're baby will be absolutely fine I'm sure. I always feel sad when I'm really poorly so being preggo and full of hormones on top of that, no wonder you feel sad! Hope you rest and feel better soon Flowers

Sipperskipper · 07/11/2016 17:41

lucie thats great news! Did you find out what you are having?

lucieloos · 07/11/2016 17:54

Thanks sipper! No we didn't find out the sex I wouldn't have minded but dh is adamant about having a surprise so we are going to wait.

Rabbitykins55 · 07/11/2016 18:23

Pugsy a lot of my symptoms went around then too so try not to worry. They have since been replaced with horrible back ache but hey ho! I'm 14 weeks now. Do you have a 12 week scan soon?

Badgerbird · 07/11/2016 18:34

Wooohooo lucie great news :)

Welcome pugsy, I think we are due around same day, I'm 11+3 Smile I've had a couple of early scans, all good. Symptoms kind of went for a couple of days then came back with a vengeance last week. They seem to fluctuate and that's normal but still scary! I've not got my dating scan till I'm 13+4, when's yours? And big congratulations!!

Pugsymalone · 07/11/2016 18:50

Rabbitykins55 congrats! My 12 week scan is this friday :-) very excited but ️nervous

️Thanks Badgerbird Ooh indeed we are due around the same time, I live in dublin and hospital told me I would not be getting a scan until 20 weeks unless there was a medical exception then I had small bleed at 10 weeks so was given mini scan everything was fine strong heart beat so they made me an app second scan for extra reassurance this Friday which will be my dating scan ! Saves me the 125 eur I was paying to get a private scan , congratulations to you both Grin

Pugsymalone · 07/11/2016 18:51

Oops forgot to say I will be just 12w1d at dating scan on Friday :)

Adventuregame · 07/11/2016 21:07

Came home to my screening results letter - low risk. I thought it would be as nuchal measurement was less than a millimetre but still nice to see it in black and white !

Gurtie try not to worry, chances are the baby is fine. Last time my midwife told me these things are like the best parasite you'll ever have - they'll take everything they need from you, and if you feel crap it's because you need to replenish what they've taken so you have some left for you. I figure that explains my milk cravings before bed.

PeachIcedT · 07/11/2016 21:25

Great to hear about your results lucie and adventure! I think if I had the harmony I'd definitely find out the sex (just because I'm nosey and inpatient). I've been reading about the nub theory, and how it can be used to predict the sex, but often it's still difficult. Before I was pregnant I never understood how women could sense what they are having, but I think I am convinced on mine and would be very surprised if I was told the other!

Badgerbird · 07/11/2016 22:21

Great news adventure Smile

adventure we got our scans on the same day and I've not heard anything yet. I'm not too concerned: I'm normal weight, nuchal measurement was 1mm and I'm 30 and non smoker so hoping all is well!

Adventuregame · 08/11/2016 07:28

nervous had scan on Wednesday and letter came Monday.
Sonnet I was told you'd get a call within 48 hours if it was high risk plus yours sounds similar to mine. Measured less than 1mm I don't smoke and I'm older than you !!

We told people before the screening results but then the sonographer had said it was a very thin measurement and she could tell just by looking it was completely normal.
