Congrats sonnet, adventure and fox on your scans!

I got bored of feeling squished into tight clothes and ordered some maternity leggings from next (mainly because they would be delivered today and I was too impatient to wait longer!) the over bump black leggings were ok round the bump - would have had lots of room but the rest of the fit was awful. They were so baggy on my legs and bum - and I'm not a particularly skinny girl! I liked the under bump leggings though they are ind of denim feel so will be good with long tops/jumpers through winter i think. Going to check out h & m from your recommendations.

Just wondering if anyone is getting itchy boobs?! Mine seem really sensitive ATM. Wore an old bra yesterday n they flared up in an angry red rash. Seemed to get a bit better after using face moisturiser on them Blush is it just me?

teainbed · 02/11/2016 21:08

Hi little. Why do you need a CVS? Are you high risk or have you had concerning results from your nuchal? There is an antenatal tests board on MN somewhere they'd probably have more info but I know the test is a slightly earlier slightly different version of an amniocentesis.

littleem89 · 02/11/2016 21:12

Thank you. My husband has a translocation in his chromosome so we are more at risk. Haven't had my results back from my nuchal yet but we were advised that even if something is wrong it may not be picked up by this test hence the cvs was offered. I'll have a look on the other antenatal posts. Thanks for your help though.

MissMooMoo · 02/11/2016 21:29

grow very itchy boobs and my nipple area is dry and flaky, I think I need to buy some cream already.

RasperryInAMelon · 02/11/2016 21:40

Hey Little Smile good to see you over here!

Little and I know one another so nice to have a friendly face!

I was thinking about this earlier... do they know which chromosome has the issue?

littleem89 · 02/11/2016 21:43

Hey! Finally managed to work out what to do! Yeh the issue is between chromosome 2 and 3.

PeachIcedT · 02/11/2016 21:45

Woohoo adventure due date buddies Smile. Great news on your results badger.

This evening told both sets of parents. I was dreading telling mine but they were really happy about it as were the ILs. Wish I could say telling people makes it seem more real but the whole concept of being pregnant I still find crazy.

Good luck to anyone who may be having scans tomorrow.

Badgerbird · 02/11/2016 22:26

lucy I had it on sat, same day as you. I went to my ultra baby and they say 5 working days for results but luckily only had to wait 3.

gertie def not alone! I think I've put on half a stone ish and I'm quite short, midwife was happy with my bmi though. Luckily a few of my friends assured me that they packed on quite a lot of weight in first trimester then it evened out. It feels odd and uncomfortable doesn't it?! Im looking forward to my bump :)

Badgerbird · 02/11/2016 22:34

Thanks peach, we are very relieved esp as I'm 39 :) Glad it went well telling the parents, how exciting!! I know what you mean how it doesn't seem real, I kept looking at my belly in the bath tonight in wonder.. ..there's a baby in there!!!

lullaby23 · 03/11/2016 01:59

Congrats on the scans! No idea on skull theory sorry but fascinated to see if it works.

adventure it was me that mentioned the CL cyst, so pleased it was nothing sinister for you. I think mine was about 3cm so will see next week if it's grown. My only concern is does it quietly fade away or EXPLODE burst?

I found my weight gain slowed down in 2nd/3rd tri as didn't have to eat every 2hours to avoid nausea. I am overweight to begin with anyway though, put on 7kg last time and it was off within 2 weeks so was mainly baby and fluid (plus absence of wine calories 🍷!)

lucieloos · 03/11/2016 06:51

Badger, that's great that you got the results so quickly I really wish mine would hurry up!

WishIWasSleeping · 03/11/2016 06:58

Grow, that'll be your boobs growing! Stay away from 'normal' bras and get into maternity ones. And it's never too early to start moisturising! my boobs were itchy last time and they seemed enormous- I received lots of comments on them as my bump didn't really make an appearance until about 7m.
I also, due to no appetite and needing lots of sleep, lost a stone during the first three months last time. I looked amazing (I'm a bit overweight anyway) but even though I ate carefully & exercised I put on 2st during the last 6months. It all came off after and I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight within about 3-4 weeks, so please don't worry people! However this time I haven't lost any and don't have time to exercise so it's going to be fun! Confused
Still waiting for my scan next Monday. Estimate I'll be 13+1 then. I found out 3 weeks later this time but feel like I've waited forever for the scan!

WishIWasSleeping · 03/11/2016 07:04

Oh, and I found next's maternity jeans to be really ill fitting. I had over and under the bump ones. Both looked a baggy mess and I had to wear a belt with the over bump ones even when I had a full term bump as they just kept sagging down. So ladylike.
I was very disappointed as normally they are well fitted from there!
Linen under bump trousers from Asda were my Best Buy and new look had the most feminine range I found. I love jeans so recommendations on best leg and bum fitting slim/straight legs please!

1004Rise · 03/11/2016 07:57

Am I the only one that thinks there are just no nice maternity bras out there? I have a couple of really ugly ones from M&S but they're that much more comfortable I'm wearing them.

I think I've put on about 1.5kg since I found out at 5 weeks (now 11+4) but there's not much of me anyway. I'm hoping that I can get away with my normal dresses for the
next few months so have been testing maternity tights... shame they're all so dull. I found Boots really good and ASOS. Also been looking at all the capsule wardrobe pins on Pinterest because I don't want to buy loads. Following with interest the experience with jeans though over the bump seems to make more sense to me but will probably order loads on line and send lots back.

Oh and the dreaded sickness came back with a vengeance last night... I was feeling quite pleased with a whole 5 days of just feeling tired! Must learn not to feed the cat smelly food after 9 pm!!

RasperryInAMelon · 03/11/2016 08:40

Gosh lots to catch up on after I fell asleep last night!

Little have they told you what the risks could be yet or not?

Wish and Rise I bought maternity bras from Mothercare - 2 for £30 and they actually do some nice ones with matching pants too Smile

In terms of clothes I've bought some really lovely dresses from New Look and ASOS and intend on getting jeans either from Topshop or Mothercare as I'm so fussy with the fit! They aren't cheap but this is my first pg so will last for another hopefully!

teainbed · 03/11/2016 09:05

When I got measured they said you don't need to wear a maternity bra, just something not wired with good support and wide straps so I've got some nice M&S ones. Nursing bras on the other hand you need the clips and they tend to be quite boring.

Seraphine jeans survived walk to school, I think skinny ones are quite good they cling to your legs and not to your bump.

In a survey of two I thought Boots maternity tights were better than ASOS but we shall see what happens when they get washed.

little have you seen a generic counsellor pre pregnancy then?

AnneLovesGilbert · 03/11/2016 09:28

Thank you for the suggestions about test results. I'm feeling less anaemic than I usually do because of not having periods - one of the things I always looked forward to about pregnancy! Smile

But wasn't sure what would happen if there was anything they picked up that needed treating.

Fab news on your harmony results Badgerbird and on your wonderful scans adventure, fox, sonnet Grin

AnneLovesGilbert · 03/11/2016 09:48

Hello Barnes Smile I definitely started feeling better around the 10 week mark, nausea fading, staying awake longer in the evenings. Had a minor panic about lacking symptoms, but the painful massive boobs haven't gone anywhere and I can still smell absolutely everything so I'm reassured.

I'm sure you'll be fine x

It's a bit worrying what you're saying about pressure from your boss to tell everyone. You don't legally have to tell ANYONE at work for many months more. You should remind your boss you didn't have to tell him/her yet so they can't make you tell anyone else. Raspberry is in HR and can probably help more, but my feeling would be that if you're getting hassle you have to just tell them to piss off. You'll make it public when you're good and ready.

lalaland1985 · 03/11/2016 09:54

Congratulations everyone on your scans!

I got the h&m over bump jeans from the one in Glasgow city centre. They also had a range in silverburn. I also got tights from new look. Fabulous!

I've got another scan tomorrow as I was earlier than they thought last time. Can't wait to see my wee one again!

MissMooMoo · 03/11/2016 09:59

When I went to mothercare they had no maternity bras in my size (34 E, I didn't think this was an odd combo?) So I bought 2 nursing bras for the same price and they are comfortable but ugly! I am hoping to get some nicer ones from marks and spencers tomorrow.

I have 1 pair of h&m black over the bump jeggings/jeans which I LOVE,very comfortable.
I am holding off buying too much as it is my birthday on the 1st December and DH family always buy me clothing so I am hoping for some nice maternity bits this year.
I bought 8 Isabelle Oliver vest tops on ebay for a tenner that I am going to use for layering and can wear in april and may if we get a heatwave. She also sent a lovely summery skirt so I thought I could save it for may/june/july also.

I have ordered some cream for my boobs,so itchy!

Mustbecrazy123 · 03/11/2016 10:19

14+6 here and feeling massive! I've always had issues with my weight and after losing 3st with slimming world after my first baby i have fallen back into bad eating habits that can't even be blamed on my sickness anymore as it disappeared about 10 weeks! Thinking of maybe rejoining SW as I'm already at risk for GD and my pregnancy craving at the minute is sweeties which I usually wouldn't touch before pregnancy.

Announced my pregnancy on FB with my DS wearing his big brother top and now just counting down to my private gender scan next week, can't wait!

AnneLovesGilbert · 03/11/2016 10:38

Is it really a problem wearing underwired bras in pregnancy? I can't imagine having enough support without it?

I got some plain t short bras in Marks Moo, they have a massive range of sizes in there. I got a set of black and white ones, 2 for £16 I think. 34 F..... Who knew?!

1004Rise · 03/11/2016 10:42

Rasperry ooo matching knickers must try mothercare.... would like to preserve a little dignity (yes I'm in lala land Wink)

MissMoo I wouldn't have thought 34 E was an odd size either particularly in maternity bras!

MissMooMoo · 03/11/2016 10:45

I think they do sell them just don't stock in my local one.
I will def check out m&s tomorrow.
Anyone else anxious for their scans tomorrow?

AnneLovesGilbert · 03/11/2016 10:56

Swinging between slightly euphoric excitement and mild panic Moo. How are you doing? I'm glad I'm at work in the morning, need to keep my mind off it. Have you made nice plans with your DH for your day off?
