Morning everyone! New to this thread, I'm due May 3rd, so 13 weeks, 2nd DC Smile

Suffering from hideous sickness and nausea at the moment Envy

FoxMulder · 31/10/2016 09:00

I had another post-coital bleed on Sat morning which dragged on all weekend. Got a scan on Weds anyway so I'll wait for that. Not going to call midwife, last time she wasn't bothered.

MrsJW15 · 31/10/2016 09:38

Adventure some pains on my right hand side over the weekend too. I'm thinking probably stretching pain. My scan is tomorrow, so all should be clear then.

PowerofThree · 31/10/2016 10:12

Morning. I posted a long time ago on thread 2 but haven't been back on since. Thank you to those who welcomed me then and tried to encourage me to worry less! (Sorry I can't remember names). My 12 week scan was supposed to be today but has been rearranged to tomorrow - so impatient! After only being sick once in 12 weeks was randomly sick last night.

Have people been getting the flu jab? I get the option to have it at my scan - I have never had flu so it seems a bit pointless but I know that doesn't mean I won't ever get it and that proper flu can be dangerous.

MissMooMoo · 31/10/2016 10:51

Welcome through

power I had my flu jab a few weeks ago.
I had flu in 2009 and it was horrific, I could not physically get out of bed for 2 weeks.
Its a personal choice but remember that a pregnant woman has a lower immune system than she usually does.

PeachIcedT · 31/10/2016 11:11

I used to never have the flu jab as I had never had the flu and generally never got unwell. Then I had full blown flu and it was utter misery, to reduce the chance of having it with one jab, which i had no side effects from except for a slightly heavy arm, seems worth it to me. But then again working in a hospital, staff are pestered to get it from October onwards.

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 31/10/2016 11:38

Commencing week 10 today, not feeling tired and foggy for the last two days. Should celebrate but I'm of course worrying myself instead. Friday and the scan can't come soon enough.

teainbed · 31/10/2016 11:39

Morning. I have maternity tights on today that go up to my armpits but they are soooooo comfortable!

I had flu jab last week gave it to myself at work Flu affects pregnant women a lot worse than non pregnant which is why it is offered. The current vaccine contains a bit of the swine flu from recent years which affected pregnant woman A LOT more and it's not just the flu which is hideous but aims to stop you getting the secondary infections and complications in top of that.

lucieloos · 31/10/2016 12:21

Definitely yes to flu jab. Midwife recommended getting it ASAP. I'm booked in for next week.

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/10/2016 12:30

Morning everyone, so much to catch up on!

Another scan buddy ImYourWoman, us and Moo I think. Mine's at 2:20pm. Excited. Nervous. Worried having to drink loads and not weeing for ages.

Raspberry you looked absolutely gorgeous! Stunning dress and you both look so happy! Lovely to see. Your DH looks an incredibly proud Dad to be Smile

Sorry about your bleed Fox, have you had any pain? Has it stopped now or still going? Hope you can stay distracted till Scan on Weds. I've been lucky that it hasn't happened but my midwife was adamant that any bleeding I had to call them so you could try and speak to someone else and bring the scan forward if you want to?

I'm now surgically attached to my one pair of elasticated waist band trousers. From New Look and I love them. Once I can tell people I'll get back in my normal clothes, but for now I'm trying to hide the belly!

For the other people with bad skin, I've had big success with a witch stick, just slathering it on the affected chest, neck and shoulder areas. Really helping.

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 31/10/2016 12:57

Hi Anne mine is at 2.30! Nervous and excited covers it yep. Are you going to find out the sex of the baby?

Yup I'm trying to cover up belly (with increasing difficulty), can't wait until we can tell people and I can embrace my pregnant look.

Brightsmoke · 31/10/2016 13:39

You look stunning Raspberry!

Welcome Through Im also due 3rd May. Have you had your 12 week scan yet? I think Im one of the lucky ones atm and my sickness evaporated a few weeks ago!

Power, Ive also had the flu jab. As its free, I don't see a reason not to, to prevent it!

This page moves so quickly! I struggle to keep up on here, we seem much slower paced over on the facebook page Halloween Grin

Brightsmoke · 31/10/2016 13:41

ooo, forgot to add good luck to all those having scans today!

Anyone else suffering with 'baby brain'? I honestly never thought it was a thing, until I went out leaving the stove on (having turned it down instead of off) and leaving he fridge door open, both of which I've never done before! DH says I've done loads of daft things in the last few weeks Halloween Blush

Flingmoo · 31/10/2016 13:46

Been away for the weekend with no wifi so just now catching up on everyone's news - it's nice having this little community especially at the moment, as I haven't told family yet. Feels like forever til my scan although it's only 2 weeks.

Can anyone tell me some meal ideas that you've found compatible with the nausea? As in, dinner meals? I know we've all got our own aversions and cravings during pregnancy but I'm really stuck for ideas as there's not much I fancy and it keeps changing. What have you all been eating?!

jennymac31 · 31/10/2016 13:48

Afternoon ladies.

It's been a while since I've posted an update.

Am 11+2 and have got my 12 week scan next Tuesday. Have pretty much been living in leggings and maternity tights (from my last pregnancy) as everything else is starting to uncomfortable. Bought a couple of maternity tops but am scared that I'm jinxing myself by getting them before my scan. Silly, I know!

Still feeling faint and nauseous. Have had a cough for the last 2 weeks which won't go away and if I have a really bad coughing fit then I end up vomiting, which is great. Waiting for test results to see if its whooping cough but I doubt it.

Great to see all the news about recent scans xx

1004Rise · 31/10/2016 13:59

Hi All,

Haven't posted here yet been lurking for a while but feel a bit superstitious (very unlike me) doing anything before my first scan. Added to which I've felt completely awful for what seems like forever Confused I'm 11+1 and have my first scan next week.

I had my flu jab last week and I think having to tell 3 different strangers I was pregnant within 15 minutes probably got rid of a bit of superstition! I caught a cold when I was about 9 weeks and it practically flattened me and I'm usually the last person to catch anything so there was no way I was risking flu Smile

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/10/2016 14:16

Sadly so Brightsmoke..... It's been going on for ages and I've almost embraced it now. I regularly can't remember the end of sentences I started. Can't find anything. Don't remember words. Can't spell.

My DM reckons enjoy the mild brain fuzz (while trying to stay safe!), as it goes in the end x

Soup and bread for me Mamushka. Flavoured but not too much, and nice bread. I'm not big into carbs usually but everything I read says to try and up them so I'm finding nice breads.

Totally know what you mean Rise, not specifically about superstition in my own case, but having to tell people seemingly all the time these days. So weird when most of my friends don't know!

MissMooMoo · 31/10/2016 14:18

imyourwoman mine is at 3:10 on Friday.
Yay for scans!

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/10/2016 15:00

Are you wishing away the days Moo, or feeling calm about it? Have you already had a scan?

Not going to find out ImYourWoman, are you?

Barnes79 · 31/10/2016 15:03

Hope you all don't mind if I join too.
Currently 10w +1 and lost all pregnancy symptoms (apart from nighttime back pain). Can't wait for my scan on 12w +4 to, fingers crossed, prove it's actually happening...

Thanks for the thoughts on the flu jabs everyone - seems pretty unanimous in favour of them! Not sure whu I am being uncertain about it when I have had plenty of travel jabs before probably with a far low risk.

Adventuregame · 31/10/2016 15:46

Scan on Wednesday morning. In full blown panic mode now. Just convinced it'll be another mmc. My shoulder just started hurting - cue googling the shoulder tip pain that signals an ectopic.

OP posts:
MissMooMoo · 31/10/2016 15:55

anne a bit of both! I had a private scan at 8 weeks and baby had a heartbeat of 168 bpm so I know that everything SHOULD be ok but I still panic everytime I go to the loo thinking I will wipe and see blood.

adventure sending positive thoughts your way.

Adventuregame · 31/10/2016 16:00

Thanks MissMoo

Adventure I thought you'd had an early scan? I had the same feelings but turned out to just be growing pains
