Thread number 3 for those due May 2017

At my docs they get you to do a wee sample after checking in so my bladder is always pretty empty for scans. No issue with reusing pee pots as they give you...a plastic drinks cup with no lid When I was pregnant last time I had a pre eclampsia scare as my BP was higher than usual and they found protein in my urine so rushed for bloods etc, all a false alarm probably because the wee samples are not kept properly!

I have so far managed to keep my sickness to the privacy of my own home but this morning was sick on the high street twice! The second time a really lovely man sat me down on a bench and bought me a bottle of water. I feel fine now and am sitting in a cafe waiting for my poached eggs on toast.

My letter said drink a pint of water an hour before. I wee every half hour these days from when I wake up so I have no idea how I'm going to keep it in

Scan is all done. EDD is forward by 5 days. The lady doing the scan said the skin at back of the neck looks small so should be ok, just waiting to have my bloods taken.

Baby was misbehaving so took over half an hour to get the measurements, was doing head spins and all sorts. Hope yours went well ghost

So glad to hear scan went well bright can't believe its already 12 week scan time,mine is next friday and im getting anxious now.

anne it is at 3:10, feel like the day will probably drag! DH has taken the whole day off so I am thinking we can go out for lunch beforehand to pass some time.

Got my scan this afternoon. Last time I was driving in from work so 30 minute drive, and I chugged down a 500ml bottle of water in the waiting room as appointments were never on time. This time it's an hour drive in from home so I'm absolutely doing the water when I get there again, I can't drive that long if I'm bursting. Ideally DH will be coming with me but as our hospital has closed half it's parking spaces (for a year!) while a new multi-story car park is built he may just end up circling the hospital. I don't think I'm 12 weeks this time so I reckon I'll be back again next week - happened last time and I'm glad as the first sonographer was v moody whilst the second was happy to talk us through what she was doing and why.

Defo make a day of it Moo, sounds lovely. We're both at work and will go straight there. I'm going to try and keep busy.

Lovely brightsmoke!! Now I've got out, had to see the consultant too who's put my on medicine to help stop my bp going up again.

Well it was absolutely amazing, I can't believe how much it's grown in 3 weeks. And like you brightsmoke I had a naughty one! Despite drinking 800mls of water it wasn't enough so had to go for a walk and drink some more. Baby wouldn't move it's hand from it's face!

Also put me back a day to 7th may. I know the deed that resulted in this little one was done on the Saturday so the little swimmers must have taken their own sweet time

I know when mine was made too so will be fun to see if I have my dates spot on.

Thanks Ghost a little girl would be lovely, but so would a boy! It's our first so I've no preference really!

Regarding bladders and scans, I went to my first scan with a full bladder and she sent me out for a wee because it 'looked very full and uncomfortable' and she apparently didn't need a full bladder, so I didn't bother worrying for the second scan I had to have, I had a different sonographer and she didn't comment either way, so I guess it was fine

Glad yours went well ghost! Mine kept turning it's back to the scanner and moving too much, might as well start as it means to go on, little monster!

Congrats on all the scans. 11 days to go for mine. Will it ever come!?? I've told my parents who seemed a bit shocked but happy. Shocked as I think they thought we were done with kids. Nice to be able to talk to someone apart from DH about it. Can spill to others after the scan.

They've got to be boys ey brightsmoke causing all this trouble already!

cinammon I must admit, I had to look a good few times as the skull was neither here nor there shape wise, could have called it either way but I think the roundness is slightly more defined.
The reason I'm saying this is I have two pictures from my scan today and you've guessed it! One the skull looks perfectly straight down the other is really round - so my theory can't be applied to my own!

Actually ghost, if I've managed to work out your skull theory correctly, I think mine is a girl! We shall see.

Haha Ghost maybe they just don't want us to know yet I do have a pic from the 11wk scan I had, I'll attach that on here too in case it's any better...

I'll be happy either way, I'm just super keen to know what to get excited about!

Congrats all on your scans! Had final part of harmony & nuchal yesterday, all good. She was moving around like crazy! I've got my NHS s an booked for Monday, but consultant in London said there is no need as this one is so thorough, and Harmony so accurate. Have been calling and calling to try & cancel but no answer!

Congratulations everyone on their scans today. I have my early scan (I'm 9+3) this evening at 7.30. It's a private one I've booked for reassurance after a mmc at 9weeks previously.
I'm so nervous, I feel sick and this time it's nerves not morning sickness!
