Is anyone else experiencing excess unwanted hair?!?! I really hope someone is and it's not just me! I'm struggling to keep on top of it. Blush

Northernexile · 27/10/2016 13:29

Rabbity a lot of people get more/thicker hair when pg. I'm actually looking forward to it as it's the only time my hair isn't really fine and annoying. Hasn't happened yet for me though this time. I think it's pretty common to get excess hair in other areas too.

Sunflower I compared all three sets of 12 week scan photos I have last night and couldn't see a nub on any of them- I'm useless!

Ice- I am expecting DC3 as well and I'm not sure about the car seat thing. I'm really averse to getting a people-carrier but I think my Honda Civic won't be able to cope with all of us!

Ghostonthedancefloor · 27/10/2016 13:33

brightsmoke scan buddies! Mines tomorrow at 12+6! Good luck :-)

Ghostonthedancefloor · 27/10/2016 13:35

And for anyone wanting a guess on their scans, I find the skull theory extremely accurate. I boast a 100% success rate in my guesses (honestly!) I love it! Smile

Flingmoo · 27/10/2016 13:44

Ooh Ghost what's your skull theory?! Can you guess based on someone's scan photos? Smile As soon as I have my 12 week scan in a couple of weeks I'll submit it to you for guessing Grin

I asked my 2 year old DS if he wants a baby brother or a baby sister and he says he wants a Babybel Grin He normally says sister though! I've got a feeling I'm completely incapable of producing girls but you never know.

mightymouse76 · 27/10/2016 13:46

Hi everyone

I've been quiet(ly panicking) for a while off here after some cracking pains in the last week and haven't wanted to dampen spirits with my sunny disposition, but have been checking in daily.

So pleased some of you are feeling better and are making plans. I'm clutching on to your positivity! Lovely that the group is growing in numbers too.

I'm 9+6 today and still vile, nauseous and gagging all day (and all night sometimes too?). Giving up on food last couple of days, seems to be no point. Ice lollies and the occasional apple or little radishes. Needless to say my digestion is in fab shape. My career also!

Have laid out for a scan and harmony next Tuesday as I'm old and desperate to know if there is actually still something in there to justify this!

Also trying acupuncture in Canary Wharf next Wednesday. Can anyone recommend others in London? I'm east but would potentially drag myself elsewhere for some relief.

On the skin chat, mine is also breaking out but I'm struggling to wash my hair (and me tbh) so that isn't helping. Does anyone else struggle with bath/shower now? Actually gives me the fear!

Rabbity re hair, I'm a hairy little critter anyway so if it went any more wild I'd be like Micheal J Fox in 'teen wolf'. I'm not ruling that out, given proceedings so far.

I read recently that women who don't tolerate hormonal contraception often feel far more shit whilst preggers, which makes sense. The pill made me rather irrational and emotionally bonkers, the mini pill made me scarily depressed, and the Mirena made part of my eyebrow fall out! Was a look.

Anyone else notice a correlation?

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/10/2016 13:46

Rabbity, not in the usual places so can't do anything about it but I have a downy lower back and belly! DH noticed the back.... I chuckled nervously Hmm Where's yours?

teainbed · 27/10/2016 13:57

What pains mighty? Abdomen or elsewhere?

mightymouse76 · 27/10/2016 14:08

tea the first bout was low down and central, weird scratchy aching all around followed by stab like pain. Lasted for about a day then went when I rested. Honestly thought that was the beginning of the end as was pretty intense. This week it's been a sharp little stab always in the same place, left hand side. Lasted about 2 days and now gone. I've already had one scan 3 weeks ago and everything was in the right place, and no bleeding. Midwife said try not to worry. Hard not to though!

Adventuregame · 27/10/2016 14:12

I'm feeling so much better today which after feeling so dreadful on Tuesday is actually a relief but sure I'll be worrying again by tomorrow. 11+1 today and scan is on Wednesday.

mightymouse I think I did read that there is evidence of women who get nauseous on the pill are more likely to have worse morning sickness when pregnant... something to do with the oestrogen I think. I did get nauseous with the combined pill and I have bad nausea with my pregnancies too.

Rabbitykins55 · 27/10/2016 14:25

Anne it's mainly in my face. I'm relatively furry anyway but this is getting ridiculous. I feel quite embarrassed about it.

Flingmoo · 27/10/2016 14:27

Oh and I've had something similar mightymouse, kind of like bad ovulation pain. I am trying not to worry too much as I had the same thing in my first pregnancy. I chalk it up to mysterious unknown processes happening in that area... stretching, chemical reactions, placenta being formed, all sorts of changes. It's not surprising we get all sorts of weird aches and pains.

MrsJW15 · 27/10/2016 14:38

Anne E45 does seem to have really helped with my back, shoulders and chest. I use a spray on version - this one I think - www.boots.com/en/E45-Dermatological-Derma-Protect-Fast-Acting-24H-Spray-Moisturiser-200ml_1839526/ every morning after I shower, and it does seem to be helping. I have also been gently exfoliating every week or so.

I'm also pre-emptively using it on my belly and boobs in a bid to avoid stretch marks (a bit optimistic really). I have quite sensitive skin, and I think something very natural is helping. Maybe I should try something similar on my face!

CinnamonTwist · 27/10/2016 15:15

Ghost I'll take you up on the gender guessing... I've been trying to work out from the nub on my scan, but I think it's at an inconclusive angle as different people give different responses, probably doesn't help that it's not laid out flat, it's all curled up. Id be interested to see what you think on skull theory, if you don't mind? Grin

KJW9716 · 27/10/2016 15:20

I was quite disappointed to see only a handful of hospitals accept cord blood donations and my local isn't one. Thought I'd mention it on here if anyone wants to and will be using those hospitals. Barnet general, Northwick Park, Luton and Dunstable and University College.

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/10/2016 15:58

Thank you MrsJW15 , that looks brilliant. I've got some nice body oil in the post for stretch marks but in the short term I'm more worried about awful skin!

growcookeat · 27/10/2016 16:51

Phew! Just back from scan - all looking good so far. Such a strange (and lovely) feeling to see that there's really something there. DH was amazed by the fast beating heart, I'm sure I spotted a tear in his eye!

Dated me exactly where I thought at 12+5 which is a relief as I'm comfortable telling people now. Family get together at the weekend to share the news Smile

Anne and rabbity I'm like you with the body hair - although I'm naturally dark and furry anyway! Also my skin has totally dried out and I have v unattractive red scaly rings round my eyes Blush E45 and gentle exfoliation seems to be starting to work. Would like to look reasonably normal by my birthday this weekend!

Hope everyone's feeling positive today!

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/10/2016 16:54

So happy to hear that grow Grin I feel a bit teary for you myself!

JulyLady7 · 27/10/2016 17:02

That's amazing grow, so happy for you! Can't wait to start telling people!

Ghostonthedancefloor · 27/10/2016 17:14

Sorry I've just got home from work - feeling very strange, really faint and shaky. Just want to go to bed!

Ok so the skull theory is for girls the skull is said to be rounder at the front whereas boys are more of a straight line to where the eyebrows would be to the eyes.

cinammon sorry to keep you waiting! Girl :-) and look at that little dramatic hand bless.

Ghostonthedancefloor · 27/10/2016 17:17

Re pains - I've had all types of different and sometimes worrying pains. Some have been a period type ache which i find more worrying as that's what contractions started out like for me and others have been stabbing/shooting pains which probably mean everything growing and stretching etc

Flingmoo · 27/10/2016 17:45

Appletiser in a champagne flute, for when you're feeling queasy AND fancy. Wine

Flingmoo · 27/10/2016 17:47

Oh Ghost that's funny I had period type pains in my first pregnancy and it never bothered me. This time round I'm shitting myself every time I feel them because it's exactly like early labour felt for me in my first pregnancy.

Rabbitykins55 · 27/10/2016 18:29

KJW my hospital isn't listed there but they offer it so I'll be doing it. It looks like a great cause.
