Hi girls

Hope you are all well, just sitting here watching Dancing on Ice.

Been feeling really dizzy this week, which is slightly unsettling.

Went to the jewellers this week where I got my wedding ring as it was all scratched, and the man was so awful to me, I ended up walking out in tears, my mum argued with him in the shop for twenty minutes before he agreed to fix it. I was outside the shop bawling like a baby, with strangers coming over and asking me if I was OK. How embarrassing.

Been shopping with mum again today, and bought baby bath and sun shade for car. I have to admit though, for someone who loves, loves, loves shopping, I had a huge tantrum today and refused to try anything on for myself. Shoes and boots still work out well though!

Glad to hear you are all well.

Pebblemum · 10/02/2007 19:16

I know how you feel. Clothes shopping sort of looses its appeal when you know you cant fit in half the stuff you see. Since getting pregnant ive seen loads of great bargains, Ive been tempted to buy a few things for after the baby is born but i dont want to tempt fate just in case i dont go back to my normal size although i wouldnt mind if i ened up a size smaller

I had the dizziness last week, it lasted for about three days before it started to ease. My midwife is going to do a blood test on Wednesday to check my iron levels. I really hope they are ok as I had low iron with ds1 and had to have blood tests every anti-natal appointment to keep an eye on it, I hate needles at the best of times. Hope your dizziness soon eases, could be tiredness

I am feeling a lot more organised now I know ive got a pram, I managed to find the bedding i want yesterday, Ive found several things on ebay im bidding on (all new but half the normal price) and now have a list of other essentials the baby will need.

Im not sure if im going to buy a baby bath this time as ds2 hated his. Everytime he was put in it he screamed yet I could put him in the big bath and he would be fine. I think with ds1 I went and bought every little thing people said i needed but in the end hardly used most of it and with ds2 MIL spoilt him as he was her first grandchild so we ended up with things we didnt really need yet again. Hopefully I will be a bit more organised this time around (yeah as if lol)

Pebblemum · 10/02/2007 19:17

oops loses not looses lol

LupinsBigLump · 10/02/2007 19:42

Yeyyyyy well done pebble - they are really nice prams

I am now seriously thinking of having a private scan - with dd I was scanned every 2 weeks after 24 weeks and pretty much stayed like that throughout my pg, however I havent been scanned since 20 weeks and altho I was seen this week (24wks) I wasnt scanned - the next scan is 28 weeks which is when we lost M, am feeling a bit annoyed that they arent scanning me at least once more between 20&28 wks, so am thinking of going to have a private one - must have some stuff I can sell on ebay to raise £145 ouch!!

MKG · 10/02/2007 20:47

Congrats on the pram. Pebble.

I must agree that baby baths are a waste of money. I just bought a seven dollar seat for babies and put ds in the big tub. As soon as he could sit up and roll over it was a waste anyway. AFter having watched my sils make a fuss with their tubs I was glad I never got one.

Am I the only one who sleeps well all the time. I have no trouble falling asleep at night. Everyone says my bump is small though. My breasts on the other hand are gigantic. I swear I am going to have to pose for playboy soon.

LupinsBigLump · 10/02/2007 21:45

Ahhh lucky you sleeping well MGK, try having big bump and huge boobs lol

MGK do they still do watermelon sweets in states = also tootsie rolls? they were soooo yummy

Current cravings - choc ices mmmmmm

aprilmeadow · 10/02/2007 22:08

YAY Pebble. So plesaed for you!!

We dont have a baby bath, but do have a tummy tub. They look and are so cool. I have a wonderful picture of J in it at about 3mths old.

My dad babysat tonight so that i could help out doing front of house for the Panto. I have tried to wake him to tell him that i am home but he is SNORING so loud that it is making no difference! There is no way that he would hear J if he woke up. I have been making loads of noise and NOTHING!

Have been looking on the internet at the Phil & Teds and i know that its 450 pounds for the buggy, doubles kit, cocoon and rain cover if i buy it from Mothercare, but have found a cool site that is selling all that for 370pounds. Ebay dont seem to have people selling the 'full' sets and it would still work out more expensive than this site. Other good news is that my mum has offered to put 100 pounds towards it. So that means that i only have to find 270. Feeling very pleased about that.

Busy day today. Amazingly my fridge freezer arrived. The Comet delivery men took the doors off it, (massive side by side) got it in my kitchen door, put the doors back on and were gone in 15 mins.

Washing machine and tumble dryer arrived whilst they were here and nice John Lewis men brought them to the cellar. DH and I (now friends again) installed it and I have been washing ALL DAY. I have a fortnight's worth to do...

SKY installation man came and not only was he sane and with perfect English (Croatian chap), he was charming and excellent at his job. He didn't charge us for the zillion miles of cable he used over the roof (they usually do) and he refused half the tip DH offered for doing such a fab job.

I can't believe my luck today. I really thought I'd be on the phone ranting to SOMEONE.

Oh and Ocado man arrived on time too, bearing minimilk icepops and Ben and Jerrys Cookie Dough ice cream.

Feckin' knackered now! Deffo no trouble sleeping for me. I don't usually though. I got one of those Dream Geeni pillows when I started getting uncomfortable and I haven't really had a bad night since.

Happy Sunday all. x

LupinsBigLump · 11/02/2007 08:24

TYG glad it all went so smoothly - bit of a miracle really

Had a better night with my pillow - its not leaving my side lol

Have a good day all

aprilmeadow · 11/02/2007 09:31

Afternoon All

Well I had a somewhat eventfull evening. One of my flatmates is from east Africa and has no sense of property, safety, fire hazards, respect for others in the flat etc. Well Friday night came and me and my flatmate Nic walked into the kitchen to find 4 very scary looking 6ft tall, big black guys all sat in our kitchen drinking alcohol that belonged to another flatmete. We weren't told that they would be coming by our flatmate and they stayed friday night and made a lot of noise. Saturday morning came and me and Nic both had food and drink missing!

Then last night they were all still here, and we recognised one of them as he had very forcefully tried it on with both me and Nic a couple of months ago and didn't like to hear the word 'NO' IYKWIM. Me and Nic both dislike him and are fairly scared of him (we are the only one's in the flat with these guys and have been all weekend). Then last night whilst walking past my flatmetes room they were still making noise and smoking (non smoking flats). Went to the kitchen to find even more stuff of mine had been lifted.
So me and Nic snapped and went down to the security guards to report them, they came up and had a word with them. They came up to find that these 'friends' of my flatmates hadn't been signed in, didn't live on the campus, were all smoking in his room, had covered the fire alarm with a sock so it couldn't detect the smoke, had ripped up half the carpet in his room, the room was trashed - the list was endless. So they were told to leave.

Nic came to knock on my door and one of these HUGE guys came out the room, walked up to Nic and shouted 'Your a fu*in bitch' right in her face cause they must have known it was us that reported them. Then me and Nic made our way downstairs to go see security and met them on there way down. They all walked past us, glaring and shouting 'we are gonna fu*in kill you!' at us. Me and Nic by this point were petrified, security suggested ringing the police cause of the threat. Nic was really shaken up by all this cause she is always hearing this flatmate talk about how guns and knives are nothing back in his country! (cause you can really get much worse cant you!) So she didn't leave her room all night, locked herslef away and hid all the knives and sharp objects in the flat!

I went down to security again and told them about how scared Nic and me were in this flat alone incase these guys come back, and were told they wouldn't be allowed back on the site. I also asked the security guard if he could open this guys bedroom door for me cause I wanted to see if it was him that stole all my food and drink. He did and would you believe it, it was all there - half my shopping that I had just done, and some from previous shops!!! I took it all back and the next time I see him i'm gonna flip - little shite.

Will be interesting to see if he's so big and mouthy without his friends about, cause he'll soon be fathing LW's hormonal pregnancy wrath!!! Me and Nic are gonna follow all this up on monday with our accomadation officer and ask that he be removed from the flat. We pay £90 a week to stay here and I am not being made to feel scared and intimidated in my own flat. And I refuse to allow theft to go on anymore it's costing me a fortune, and I will not have any of those awful people back in this flat again! Imagine being made to feel so scared in your own home to the point where you hide all the kitchen knives ffs Oooo when I get my hands on the little f**c!

Anyway that was my weekend, oooo but did go shopping on saturday and bought 2 more cute outfits for baby and a gym ball - it's fabulous!

Hope everyone else is having less scary weekends!

aprilmeadow · 11/02/2007 12:27

LW - how awful for you. I would have crapped my pants if that had been me. Well done though for standing your ground with them. They obviously thought that 2 defenceless females wouldnt bother them and that they could get away with whatever they wanted. I really hope you are able to get him kicked out of your flat.

I have a gymball from my pg with ds and cant wait to use it again - must dig it out.. - i found it vrey useful in early labour. Sat on it for a good 3hrs on and off just rotating my hips. I hope it helps ease your spd. How is that at the mo?

Lwatkins · 11/02/2007 12:39

It's not been too bad recently, although it hurts at night when lie down Got a bit of a fright yesterday as baby hadn't moved all day, she's started to move now though as am feeding her a bacon sarnie

Frenchsmallfry · 11/02/2007 13:25

Hello, I'm home, yey!!!!

Had a really lovely trip and now have loads of scrummy English treats to induldge in. The boys coped well with out us girls I'm dissapointed to say, apart from the mouldy food in the fridge that neither of them threw out so has been there since before we went away. Dh did do all the washing and ALL the ironing though. [weirdo emotion] Have skimmed thread from the week, glad to see most are well.

AM great news on the slapped cheek out come and soooo glad E is growing well.

I hope your lot get better soon lg&t, I can't believe you are having to cope with that when you went for a break. we didn't get to meet up but you are right would have been silly to have come all the way back just for a few days. No snow in Lee though, lots of wind and rain and there is a very lg box of nice white wine waiting for you at Grannies when you feel like a glass.

Pebble, excellent news on the pram, well done, I'm becoming so impatient now, really want to get on with the whole yummy new mummy bit. I am a sucker for a newborn. ohhhhhhhh squidgy!!!!!!

lw, what bastards in your flat, must have been really scary, make sure you do follow it through you shouldn't be made to feel like that in your own home.

Right going to eat goodies TTFN

LupinsBigLump · 11/02/2007 16:38

LW omg how bloody scary - you are braver than me - I would have left Im afraid to say, good for you standing up for yourselves - hope they chuck this theiving sod out

aprilmeadow · 11/02/2007 19:06

YAY you are home FSF!! Sorry i didnt text you, but this week seems to have just flown by.

Been shopping today to get some new jeans as all my other pairs are too small. Got a lovely pair from H&M for 35quid. Very pleased. Also had to go and get new bras as i have grown yet again - this makes it 3 cups sizes so far - to a 34E!!! I got some maternity ones from M&S 2 pairs for 20quid and then 2 regualr bras from La Senza. Had to get some underwired ones as dh pointed out that whilst they might be big they were in fact DROOPEY!!! How rude

twelveyeargap · 11/02/2007 22:56

LW - what a frickin' nightmare. Well done for sorting it out. I have no patience at all. I don't know how you cope, living with people that nick your stuff and take liberties like that - never mind keep you up all night and intimidate you.

Welcome back FSF.

Just trying to download the episodes of Lost I missed when we were without SKY.

Wonder if I can get Grays Anatomy anywhere?

DH says hello to everyone. I picked up the pc and he goes, "Tell the mumsnet posse I said 'Hi'".

cinnamontam · 12/02/2007 08:32

TYG - thats nice My DH often asks what is going on and how everyone is.

Hope you guys all had a good weekend.

LW - can't believe what you have to live with. The sooner you get out of there the better.
