Wow, it has been so quiet on here.
CD, hot choc sounds good!

I am off to bed too, as am knackered. The baby has been so incredibly active today, that it has worn me out!

Sweet dreams everyone.

BTW 10 weeks, are you married to Jamie Oliver or something??? My dh would think that pak choi was a Chinese dialect!

CaptainDippy · 04/02/2007 21:33

Night SOSPL!

Birdiebump · 04/02/2007 23:37

Hi everyone. Just a quick post before I go to bed - (I always seem to get on here after the fun is over!).

Well flu is worse than ever so will phone doctors 1st thing in morning to see if there is anything we can throw at it. DS2 being a right little pita - probably because mummy is sick and he is not getting his usual love and cuddles ration. He is very spotty but seems unaffected apart from being a total little brat! Today while I was having a lie down and DH was making chilli he asked for a bottle of water and proceeded to empty it all over the living room - magazines, sofa, DS1's laptop (seems to be ok thank god!), you name it. Then peeled some wallpaper off his newly decorated room.... DH was so good with him and kept his temper beautifully. Thank god he is staying at home tomorrow so I don't have to cope on my own.

I think as these final weeks are coming a lot of us are starting to suffer generally. Thank god for "whingenet" !

Night night - my turn to sleep on the sofa again.....

maveta · 05/02/2007 09:32

Morning girls!

Hope you all had a busy weekend, wasn't it quiet on here??
Last night I had that same pain in my back again and spent a good portion of time on my knees propping myself up on the coffee table. Didn't think I'd be hitting that pose for a few more weeks, I have to say, but it did help. Will be buying an exercise ball to hang off this week. Also had to sleep sitting up AGAIN last night. Think if it continues I might go see a chiropractor and see what they can do.
Apart from that, lovely weekend with dh, very relaxing and slow and everything good about weekends
Have changed my working week so instead of tues-thurs I am working mon/wed/fri, hopefully will be easier only doing one day at a time followed by a day off. Don't know how you full timers are managing it!

Tili · 05/02/2007 09:38

Things seem to be calming down now and hopefully wil stay that way.I have to say though it has been one of the worst weeks ive ever had.so draining.

claricebean · 05/02/2007 09:54

Hi everyone,

to all those suffering from food poisoning, back ache, flu etc

to all those getting organised with nurseries, wardrobes etc

Well things here are great. DH is back in 12 days!!! My parents are still here, which is a godsend as DS has been sleeping in my bed for the last 3 nights - v unsettled with his chicken pox - so I haven't had much sleep. But parents have been doing the school run, shopping, cooking etc. . They leave on Wednesday, so I'll just have 10 days on my own, and the worst of the pox should be gone by then.

Bought a moses basket last week, so am pretty much organised. Also ordered new electrodes for my TENS machine. And bought the cutest coming-home-from-hospital outfit for new baby even though I have plenty pink things. Nice for her to get something new though (plus justified it by saying it was a present from DC for their new sister!). So exciting... 8 weeks and 2 days to go, in theory.

Hope we all have a good week.

flumppootle · 05/02/2007 09:57

Morning all

Wow you lot fun this weekend

Congratulations Liath on the birth of your nephew, hope that your sister is making a good recovery

Glad that things are looking up tili, good to hear that you are ok

to food poisoning runny - thats yuck

Birdiebump hope the doctor can help. I have had that flu for two weeks aswell. Finally caved last night and ended up in hospital for some antibiotics. They said that I had an infection in my sinus' OUCH! Was like a bear with a sore head yesterday

How was dinner 10 weeks, sounded yummy.

Maveta that sounds awful with your back its hard enough to sleep as it is without back troubles hugs.

Katy44, our house is on the market aswell and its a nightmare trying to keep in tidy with my three running about. Good luck with yours

Sorry if I have missed anyone, still finding it difficult to think straight with the pain in my cheek

Bramshott · 05/02/2007 10:04

Morning all - another week to tick off!

I have to take DD for her pre-school booster injections tomorrow and am dreading it. I haven't told her yet, thought I'd wait till the morning! Anyone got any tips apart from bribery?!

1b3 - glad you had a good trip to the zoo and hope the BH settle down. How many weeks are you now? I also meant to say from last week's buggy chat - when I said about the Phil & Ted's and the sling, I was thinking you could put your DD in the E3 with 1 twin (heavier one?!?), so she'd be strapped in, and then the other twin in the sling, until they were old enough to both go in the E3, at which point you could add the buggy pod for DD?

Maveta - sorry to hear about your back pain. I'm suffering a bit too (think we all are) and it's such a pain when you can't sleep isn't it. How can something so small (they told me 3.5 lbs when I had my growth scan on Thurs) cause so much trouble?!?

SOSPL - part of my job is as a stage manager so I had a concert yesterday. Was exhausted by the end I have to say, and could barely do anything! Made me very glad that it's pretty certain to be my last one before the baby, and that I said no to the one I was offered on 6 March (must have been mad to even consider it!).

Now my brain is officially full and I can't remember what anyone else said!!

hotlipsmummy · 05/02/2007 10:31

to those suffering with sick dcs, bad backs, food poisonng etc etc.

1b3 - just a thought re your buggy dilemmma, have you looked at any triplet options? I saw someone with a triple Mountain buggy this weekend (across the street so can't be sure) and as all the seats recline would still be ok for the twins when newborn? I know they are side by side rather than tandem but a thought anyway...

nuttygirl · 05/02/2007 11:03

Morning all

Well very to hear lots fyou suffein wth flu/food poisoning/etc, hope you all feel better asap.

1b3 - the Bh must have been scary, hope they settle down.

10weeks- glad to hear that the painting is now finished

EllieK - I got the support band from JJMB it was £9 (but i had a 10% discount code) and is the one that covers the whole bump. Have found it great, haven't needed my cushion for last couple of nights.

Can't remember who said they'd been to mothercare but the offer was also on trousers so I got myself another couple of pairs. I find they are more comfy than the ones with elastic in the waist! Also they come in short length so it saves my having to try to shorten them.

Had my hair done on Sat and it's much nicer than last time. DH paid...it was meant to be £38 but my hairdresser was running half an hour late so they gave me a 25% discount so was very happy. Also they gave me a £10 discount voucher for next time!

Sorry if I've forgotten anyone, was having problems with my keyboard and it took me ages to type!

nuttygirl · 05/02/2007 11:04

The first line of that shows what problems I was having!!! It kept missing letters out!

1becomes3 · 05/02/2007 11:05

Morning all, it is official I'm am on mat leave

Feel alot less stressed as no more N and no more work, leaves more time with DD and cleaning this horrible dusty house and of course MN!

Hope we are all feeling well
I just realised that I only have a maximum of 9 weeks left before babies are removed, god it is so close now, really have to start getting everything sorted.
I have no idea where to start.

Thanks for all the pram tip's still not sure what I am going to do.

mammyjo · 05/02/2007 11:09

Morning all. There must be something in the air as I was up in the night being sick and with a bit of a squitty bum too. Not nice at all. Does seem to have settled this morning so hopefully that will be the end of it. Get well soon to all feeling rubbish with varying ailments.

AngeG · 05/02/2007 11:18

Morning everyone, gosh what a quiet weekend on here.

Big Hugs to everyone suffering. Hope you're all beginning to feel better.

Fantastic news 1B3 that your ML has now started. Glad the BH calmed down, must have been very scary.

Feel a trip to mothercare coming on, although I can't find any trousers that are comfortable, still if they are on offer may be worth a look.

Sorry Bramshott no tips about the injections, I think bribery may be the way!!

Claricebean - sounds like your parents are being fantastic. Great that your DH will be home soon.

Tili - good to hear from you. Glad to hear things are settling down for you, sorry it has been so stressful and draining for you. Still thinking of you.

Sorry can't remember anything else. Hope everyone I haven't mentioned is ok and had a good weekend.

31+1 today can't believe it. Not long to go now.

Bugmum · 05/02/2007 11:22

Morning all

My DS was two at the weekend - officially not a baby anymore! (Though always his mummy's baby...) He had a fab time, although I was feeling rough, and it has certainly made me think about the realities of having another baby in the house And don't kids get given an insane number of presents???? Any first-timers, here's my tip: do NOT buy toys etc for your baby, as if you do you will be drowning in bears, plastic tat, and wooden tasteful toys that no one plays with; opting out from buying means the rush might stay at manageable proportions. Though probably not.

10Weeks - my goodness, I echo the Jamie Oliver comments When I was expecting DS, our NCT meetings were Thursday nights, and I didn't get back early enough from work to cook. So every Thursday for eight weeks DP made our tea, as he did get back in time. And that meant that every Thursday we ate Shepherdess pie (we don't eat meat). Not one exception to that. And now he's forgotten how to cook it!!!!

Hope the sufferers are feeling better this morning xx
29+1

10weeksandcounting · 05/02/2007 11:36

Morning everyone - another mad morning - been to recycling with a mountain of garden and house stuff - filled the whole of the back of the C8 - bribed ds2 with sweets while got it all out and the men there were really helpful.

Dinner was lovely thank you - dh is a very good cook - food always very yummy when he cooks - my cooking not so great!

Need to clean bathrooms and thats me for the week - no more house stuff

Waiting for John Lewis to call re washing machine delivery.....really hoping will be this week as already have a mountain piled up! Tempted to wash it - hang it on line to drip (spin not working) then tumble it later when a bit drier!

Dh did the garden yesterday - has made a huge veg patch and bought lots of seeds etc. Boys are really excited but they don't get the time thing and ask constantly whether stuff has grown yet!

I have decided that if I have a section I am going to get sterilised - know two people who have had it done after 3 kids and they said it was really great not having to worry. Won't have it done if have natural delivery though.

Have a playgroup committee meeting at my house tonight - have bought biscuits...do you think they will make it throught he day????

claricebean · 05/02/2007 11:39

1b3 - glad the BHs have calmed down.

NESTING ALERT - I've just emptied, cleaned and reorganised two kitchen cupboards and my cutlery drawer. Weird. Plus put out some old clothes for the recyclers.

Better have a sit down, I think.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 05/02/2007 11:51

Wow, busy on here this morning.

Tili, glad to see you bach here, and hope things are on the up for you.

Bramshott, sounds like an interesting job, but not surprised you won't be doing any more. I find it hard enough sitting on my backside in a warm office drinking hot chocolate!

10 weeks, sit down, and eat the biscuits! Just reading about your day makes me feel knackered!

CB - glad your parents are still with you and being helpful.

Maveta - sounds like you are having a rough time with back problems. Hope the ball helps you - I think they are pretty good.

God, can't remember anything else. Just hope all the pox, sick bugs, flu bugs etc. clear up soon for you all.

Tired today, as like everyone else, finding getting comfortable at night v difficult, so lots of tossing and turning.

Also stressing a bit, as am undoubtedly going to have to dismiss someone tomorrow at work, and not sure how my emtions are going to hold out! Can't be seen to be weeping like a baby.

Anyway, need to go. Back later. xx

10weeksandcounting · 05/02/2007 11:58

A good position for back ache with a birth ball is to stand against a wall with the ball between you and wall at hip/lower back height - leaning back on it really helps as it puts pressure on lower back.

1B3 - forgot to say - enjoy your maternity leave

Hello Tili - sorry things are so tough at the moment - big hugs xoxoxox

Shoobiedoo · 05/02/2007 11:59

ANTENATAL CLASSES?

I wasn't able to get on an NCT course as it was oversubscribed. I am also to due to move house on 19 March (EDD is 18 April) so will have to change midwife (though still going to same hospital for birth).

Are the NHS antenatal classes worth going to or could I go it alone? Have lots of info about childbirth and my gut reaction is not to bother. Hate meetings/crowds. This is my first baby. Am I being a loon or will I be OK?

10weeksandcounting · 05/02/2007 12:07

Loon

Bugmum · 05/02/2007 12:12

Loon

It's meeting people, other first timers, that really matters

Shoobiedoo · 05/02/2007 12:17

OK, just to clarify, I have three friends who are all first timers and about to drop roughly the same time as me already. And gosh darn it I'm pretty antisocial anyway.

The point about moving is that I don't drive and will be moving away from the people I meet at the classes before my baby is born anyway which would kind of defeat the point...but yeah OK I'm making excuses. I'll get onto it.

10weeksandcounting · 05/02/2007 12:24

Being 'in the know' during labour will make a big difference to the birth - you could go to NHS classes which are free.

Vio · 05/02/2007 12:39

hi, i am 29weeks and going to local NHS class on 13Feb. my DH cannot take time off so i will be going alone ....would i be the only one? or there are women going on their own as well? do you know?
