Blimey it is quiet here tonight after last night's madness! All good here although just watched totally crap film - The Matador with Pierce Brosnan. Off to stare at baby gear on ebay now and blank out the fact that I have to go to work tomorrow.

muminabigtumi · 04/02/2007 08:48

Hi everyone

Bramshott - hope work goes ok for you today!
SOSPL - glad you survived your trip to Grandmas - thanks for asking about the ashes - it was ok. We found a lovley spot amoungst snowdrops and by a stream and lots of big sticks and we laid him there. I am just glad that part is over now for my Mum.

CD - hope your feeling a bit less tired this morning - why is it some days the little monkeys can be so difficult?? I find it so much harder to deal witht he tantruming now I am further on as well....

Hi YvieE - hope you managed to get caught up - a mammoth task I bet! Hope you are feeling ok x

Vio - re your itchy skin - I got itchy when my skin was really stretching and I find that Palmers Cocoa Butter is great and also relativley cheap....I was using Bio Oil but at £14 for a tiny bottle that lasted 2 mins that got knocked on the head.....

EllieK...hope you had a nice night......betcha weren't in the spare room tho!!!! x

11weeks - wish I had half your energy - you can come and do some painting here if you like? Hope your various appointments went well and you enjoyed your meal.

My lovley Phil cooked us a lovley candlelit meal last night....wish they could just be so thoughtful more often!!!
Off to Grandma Lils today as it is her Birthday...at least I can relax and we are having a big roast dinner - YUM!

Hope everyone else is well and having a good weekend!
xxxx

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 04/02/2007 10:44

Where is everyone?? You all have lives??

MIABT glad the ashes scattering went ok.

Bramshott, what job do you do then that means you work on a Sunday?

How is everyone?

I feel good today. Becky slept in until 7.45 which was lovely, and she is in a fabulous mood - makes such a difference doesn't it?!

Well, hope everyone has a lovely Sunday, and will be back lter to see if you all have returned. xx

11weeksandcounting · 04/02/2007 11:19

Morning everyone!

Dh and granny failed to arrive home in time so loaded ds1 into car to take to appointment in tears - I was so cross and upset that they couldn't be bothered to make it back in time when they knew how much I needed to go on my own Then as driving out of village dh was coming in opposite direction, so made him stop and gave him ds1!

The accupuncturist wouldn't do anything because she thought it may trigger labour - the spd being round my hips/pelvis and said could go back at 36 weeks (feel a bit of sly induction coming on!) - the physio said my hips weren't aligned, the base of my spine was locked and crunched me - am hurting today for it but he said should be much better after weekend. The herbal therapist was lovely - have to do a diet sheet til thursday when see her next so she can see whether what am eating is affecting my sleep - sat there and cried - but she seemed to be very reasssuring and would be able to help. Is going to give me some flower remedies to help and then the following week will go through my diet when has looked at the diary. Has recommended eating organic porridge oats every day - apparently very calming and soothing for the body.

My mum has gone - thank god - spent this morning lying in bed praying for her to go - bit mean I know - but after she went Lee said she made more mess than the boys

Meal out was lovely - had scallops with chilli and coriander and noodles as a starter followed by venison sausages, parsely mash and red onion gravy - all very yummy. Didn't have room for pudding - but would have had the sticky toffee pudding with marscapone Had a nice fruit juice drink called Bumbleberry and a glass of wine.

Nursery needs another coat of paint - knew it would - so need to get that done today and get it all back in and sorted out. Can then go to recycling tomorrow and get rid of loads of boxes etc

Washing machine has definitely died - off to buy a new one - main priority is delivery time!

Have a nice day everyone - will catch up tomorrow.

10weeksandcounting · 04/02/2007 11:21

Ooh forgot to change name!

mammyjo · 04/02/2007 12:01

Morning all. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Have a few hours to myself as dh and ds have gone out - bliss!! Agree with whoever said its getting harder to deal with the other children the further along we are getting. I am 32 weeks today and really starting to struggle. Thank goodness I dont have to worry about work anymore.

MIABT, glad it went ok yesterday. These things are never good are they. Really feel for your mum as my remaining dog is so important to me and I know I would be devastated if something happened to him.

SOSPL, glad you are feeling more upbeat today. Isnt it funny that before you have children a lie in certainly isnt only until 8am, but once they arrive it is such a luxury!!

Have a good day all.

10weeksandcounting · 04/02/2007 12:04

Have ordered new washing machine at John Lewis - there is a £10 when spend £50 general promotion code called 'jlspecial' - also sneekily ordered new lampshade for our bedroom

Have just got a travel cot off freeecycle

Back to painting nursery...

1becomes3 · 04/02/2007 12:19

afternoon all, hope all is well.

I took DD to the zoo yesterday with my sis and BIL, they looked after DD (who had a lovely time) while I waddled on behind them.
Anyway came home and was watching the rugby when I started to have some rather large contractions!

Well just to put your minds at rest they did eventually stop around 11pm, but bugger me that was a bit worrying, never han BH that strong before.

off out for a spin in our new car, seems it is such a nice day.

Hope you are all having a good day

CaptainDippy · 04/02/2007 12:23

Happy Sunday all! Went for a lovely breakfast at church today - girl's were surprisingly good & actually had a reasonably nice time, rather than the usual stress these sort of occasions seem to bring.....DD's both sleeping now - Hurrah, so catching up on stuff. Going to start on DD1's Birthday Invites next (she is 3 on 25th!!!! Can't believe it!!)

MIABT - Glad the scattering of the ashes went ok and it is over now. Enjoy your yummy Roast -

Glad the trip to your gran went ok SOSPL - Getting old is so tough.

10 weeks - Sooo glad you didn't have to take DS1 to your appts!! You must have felt sooooo though - I know I would have been. Disappointing, isn't it!!? Hope this herbal stuff helps you some - Let us know how it goes on Thurs.

Right, gotta get on with these invites ....

CaptainDippy · 04/02/2007 12:24

1B3 - You must have been a little worried hon! Glad the Zoo was good! Take it easy, young lady!!

mammyjo · 04/02/2007 12:36

1b3, glad your contractions settled down. That must have been so scary for you. Do you think you did a bit too much walking yesterday. I always suffer the next day if I was busy the day before! Hope you get chance to rest up a bit today xx

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 04/02/2007 12:57

Ooh, people!

Hello!

1b3, how scary re the contractions. Hope everything is now well and truly settled.

CD - glad your church trip went well. You and 10 weeks seem to cram so much in to your lives - makes me feel like a right lazy bint!

Mammyjo - know what you mean about the "lie in"! Long gone are the days of dragging my sorry arse out of bed at 10.00 and beyod!

Dh has taken dd swimming which is grand. Have been out to shop and now cooking lunch - feel like a domestic godess! Well, I wouldn't go that far!

Does anyone else have a thing for Duncan James in lycra? He is soooooo lush!
Dd watched some of Dancing on Ice with us last night, and she is now obsessed - not with Duncan James I hasten to add. She demanded that she put her "fairy" costume on and then wanted to dance with one of the poor cats. She hauled him up and span round and round with him! Poor cat, I thought he was going to barf.

Right, need to check the luch is ok.

Back later.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 04/02/2007 12:58

Apologies for all the typo's. I hate typing on a laptop as the keys need to be hit harder!

CaptainDippy · 04/02/2007 13:02

LOL @ you and your Duncan James in Lycra fetish - Bless your DD in her fairy costume dancing with the cat, poor creature!

Enjoy your alone time!

maveta · 04/02/2007 13:10

Wow Ib3, that must have been a shock, glad it all settled and you sound like you feel good today.

I had terrible backache last night. I am getting it on and off always in the same area, around the right side and more or less the whole ribcage although worse around the mid-point. It comes and goes but last night we went for dinner and by the time we got home it was so sore I just wanted to go straight to bed. Tossed and turned for ages and dh came to bed to lie and rub my back to see if it helped but ended up sleeping sitting up with two of the sofa cushions behind me to prop me up. Was the only way it didn´t hurt. This morning I´m aware of the area that was hurting, if you know what I mean, without it actually being too painful.

Could it be the way the baby is lying or just the extra weight on my tummy now? I just wanted to cry all night I was that close to getting up to have a hot bath at about 1am as it was the only thing i could think of that might help, until dh came up with the idea of propping me up. Genius that he is

10weeksandcounting · 04/02/2007 13:49

Nursery finally painted Now the fun bit!

1B3 - OMG - hope you are okay - are you going for natural or section? I would have been off to the hospital

Maveta - could be the way baby is lying - I get it sometimes when he sticks a foot in my rib and takes ages to wiggle him out - try eating chocolate or drinking cold water - or a headstand Hope you ar efeeling okay today - if it continues you should ring your midwife anyway.

Am just making lunch - so need to whizz off - then need to make cotbed etc etc

Rest of the week is pretty quiet LOL!

Katy44 · 04/02/2007 16:14

Hi everyone,
1b3 - how scary! Glad it settled down.
Well we've just had the second viewing of our house, they seemed to like it, but they are selling theirs as well so we'll have to wait

Katy44 · 04/02/2007 17:01

OK, mental block, what do I write in my friend's congratulations-on-your-new-daughter card?

CaptainDippy · 04/02/2007 17:37

"Huge Congratulations on the Birth of Nancy-Boo Titty Flower!

With Lots of Love,

Bob, Bobbi and Bobette xxx"

That should about cover it!

We've been up on the hills and down to the sea and I am exhasusted - DH making sausage sandwiches for tea, girls running riot and I'm just catching up on here....

CaptainDippy · 04/02/2007 17:38

So exhausted, I can't spell exhausted!!

runnyhabbit · 04/02/2007 18:06

What a manic weekend!

Ds feeling much better, but Friday night, dh was up all night being sick Came on really quickly in the middle of the night. And then spent most of the night in the bathroom. Then on Saturday, I spent most of the morning being sick We think it was a dodgy lasgane. Can pretty much say that Saturday was written off. On the plus side, my friend had her baby - a little girl called Imogen

Today has been much better. Went to Mothercare, just for a wander and they have got an offer on the tops (buy one get one half price) so bought a few tops. Can't believe I've grown out of some maternity stuff already.

10wks - how organised are you?! Please slow down, or you'll put the rest of us to shame And interesting theory from your accupuncturist re SPD. Methinks I might be trying that a bit nearer the time.....

1b3 - glad everything has settled down now. Must have been for you.

Miabt - so sorry to hear about your mums dog glad the ashes scattering went ok though.

Totally agree with all those with toddlers, and getting further into pregnancy. Ds is generally a good child, but atm he is constantly pushing the boundaries. Nothing really naughty, he's just being a normal little boy, and seeing what he can get away with, but it's sooo tiring. Then I start feeling guilty that I don't spend enough "quality" time with him, to keep him occupied.

Got my breastfeeding book yesterday. I wish I'd had it first time round. There was so much I could relate to. nearly half through already. Told dh that he should read it as well, so we don't go through the same things as ds.

Going to go now - dh making shepherds pie and I've the weirdest craving for full fat coke

take care all

xx

Emmymummy · 04/02/2007 18:35

Evening. What were you lot on on Friday night? Whatever it was, I want some .

Have had a very productive weekend - new wardrobes are fab and are now stuffed with clothes, meaning the baby's room is now empty (well very nearly) - hurrah! This is a result as that room has been full of clothes for the last 5 years.

Also managed to get some gardening done over the last 2 days (wasn't it beautiful yesterday). So am feeling v. righteous and domestic-goddess-like - currently making beef stew with dumplings - yum.

Runny - you've just made me fancy full-fat coke too - need to rummage in cupboards now to see if there's any in there.....

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 04/02/2007 18:48

Hi ladies, oh Runny, sorry to hear you and dh have been poorly. Where did you get the lasagne from? I'll make sure I avoid it!!
Hope you enjoy your shepherds pie - sounds great.

Hi emmymummy, you have been busy too! The weather has been fab all weekend hasn't it. Can't say I made the most of it, but dh has earned lots of brownie points as he cleaned my car!

EllieK, where are you??? Still in the spare bedroom????

Runny, it is so hard with another child in tow isn't it. Becky can be fairly independent when she wants to be, but sometimes she can be a pita!

Anyway, hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, and I'll be back on later to see what else has been happening. x

10weeksandcounting · 04/02/2007 19:16

All finished - so nice to have it done - hospital bag is next on list but think maygive myself a few weeks off! Spd sore after yesterdays crunch, painting and assembling furniture.

Am completely knackered and awaiting another yummy dinner from dh - sirloin steak with chilli, giner and garlic on pak choi with organic rice.....yummy yummy! Then sleep....

Hoping all this activity will knock me out!

Sorry to hear about lasagne food poisoning - puts you off completely - yuk!

Good night

CaptainDippy · 04/02/2007 21:25

Yuk to food poisoning!

Just a quick post as I'm off to make hot chocolate and marshmallows for DH & I and then off to bed. Girl's took aaaaages to settle tonight - soooo hoping they sleep past 6.30 tommorrow morning ....
