Looks like you had fun last night girls!!!
Haven't aclue what you were on about for most of it tho lol!!!
Justa aquick post to say Hi
Laith - congrats re your sister and Hi to Dogin santasgrotto - was just thinking about you and Ruby the other day actually.
Not much to report here as not feeling too fantastic. A bit lwo and overemotional so not felt like posting but just wanted to let you know I am still about and lurking.
Not really looking forward to today as we are scattering Jacks ashes. Went with my Mum to get him yesterday - she is in such a state still. I ended up having to get her some sleeping tablets from the GP yesterday as she hasn't slept properly since Monday...
Only consoloation is Phil is being a star and let me have alie in this morning and is generally looking after me. I know it will pass and I will feel back to my usual self soon.
SOSPL - hope it goes ok with gran...sounds like you are in for some fun!
Catch you all later

hello you crazy people.

Just a quick note (coz it's taken about 1hr& 1/2 to catch up a DAY!!) to say internet was down yesterday. So WO will e-mail you today. Thought I had, but I think it bounced back because the address was wrong!

Ok. Enjoy your weekends people. Am off to make more marmalade today yummeeee!

11weeksandcounting · 03/02/2007 10:22

Looks like you were all on gas and air last night!

Labour isn't that bad really - we really do make stuff up !!!

Runny - the village thing - I ceremoniously dumped a friend in my village 15 months ago because she was rude to everyone, untrustworthy and a complete pain in the arse - in fact she was quite scary - used to wander round my house looking in cupboards etc, checking what we were having for tea etc etc - she would ask advice on who to invite round for coffee and then not invite you that kind of thing. I have managed to avoid her quite successfully but am polite when do bump into her. I would say if your friendship has simply drifted apart then worth inviting her round for cup of tea and catch up - if shes moving you may not get another chance. My weird ex-friend came round for a village meeting which was held at my house back in August and wanted to know why we couldn't be friends and that she missed my friendship - told her basically that I didn't want her friendship - sounds mean but I thought it was best to be honest. All my other friends said they would have given in if confronted like that and thought I was very brave! She still behaves the same way with other friends who still see her - I just don't get involved. Life is too short to have someone in your life that drains you - when she walks into a room the air literally drains out of it

Gosh - that was a bit long!

Well - my mum is still here - driving me slightly bonkers but being relatively helpful. Am going to finish decorating nursery this weekend which will be good. This afternoon am going to get my insomnia and spd sorted out - going for physio, accupuncture and medical herbalism - slightly skeptical of the last one but will try anything!

DH is taking me out for dinner tonight - nice restaurant called Northey Arms in Box - yummmyyyy! early table at 7.15 so still awake for pudding

Must start painting...will catch up later

EllieKwithabigbump · 03/02/2007 10:30

ooh gas and air, will have to try to get some for tonight

please note that little miss appears to have gone back to bed

11weeksandcounting · 03/02/2007 10:33

SLING ALERT - there is an Ellaroo mei tai deluxe going on ebay.

Now really must go and start painting!

EllieKwithabigbump · 03/02/2007 10:39

QUESTION FOR DP/DH

just out of interest, ask your dp/dh whether there is a special boy potty as opposed to a girl one

found a thread by squonk, her mum told her that ds couldn't use the potty she had for dd as he is a boy, and her dp agreed! we were marvelling at the daftness of him and i thought i'd see whether it's just a man thing, so go on, ask him

good morning foks!!! hello to you all and yes - upon rereading our chat last night - the gas & air did take hold. gotts get the practice in. i lay in bed and giggled for ages at some of it - dp was trying to listen to hypnobirthing cd so not amused!

just been out for lovely monrin g- bought all the material to make the nursey curtains, blinds and cot bumper etc etc. v v v excited! this baby had better not come early as i have loads to do now in 4 weeks when i finish work!

eca - cd in the post for you!

ellie - watch out for that bird flu - sickduck

11weeks - have a lovely afternoon! sounds fab!

11weeksandcounting · 03/02/2007 13:32

I just had normal potties for my boys - did go for bigger potties rather than smaller ones and one with a bit sticking up at the front. DS2 was 2 1/2 when decided time to potty train and he was too big for potty so we just went straight onto the toilet - which would highly recommend - much better than ds1 who used to sit in front of the tv on his potty! Didn't go for any gimmicky stuff either but would recommend a pottette for in the car/ out and about when first start.

My appointment is in less than an hour and no sign of granny or dh - aaararggggghhhhh! May have to take ds1 with me - BUGGGGGEEERRR

and to top it all off the washing machine isn't spinning - it also fills up with water on its own BUGGER - will pop into currys or comet and check out if any deals on after my physio/accupuncture appointment.

Have finished painting nursery now - just waiting for it to dry Will put furniture together tomorrow etc - also very excited!

EllieKwithabigbump · 03/02/2007 13:54

well, men are very fickle creatures. Matthew is with his dad tonight and Stephen has asked if i'd like to go to his, and stay in the spare room of course, so that i don't have a boring weekend on my own

we're just friends, but looks like maybe he just got spooked by my extraordinarily bad mood on wednesday/his 38th birthday/10 weeks til due date/some other unknown weirdness

we'll see, not getting my hopes up and certainly won't be letting him off lightly, buut am glad we can be friends

wo i tried to repeat some of it to him this morning when he called and couldn't stop giggling long enough to get the words out!

hi all, want to ask if anyone of you get itchy skin, what do you do?

I tried body butter, baby oil and now use E45 shower wash instead but still get itchy skin at night.

Anyone of you been thinking about pain relief? i am hoping to have a natural bith without using any but i doubt it...i am excited about the birth but also a bit nervous..!! my first baby so dont know what to expect!

duchesse · 03/02/2007 16:18

Vio- re itchy skin. If on elbows and knees, tell your midwife at next visit! There is a reason which I won't burden you with.

If on bump, or surrounding areas, try bog standard olive or coconut oil.

mammyjo · 03/02/2007 16:36

Hi all. Weird conversations on here last night but very entertaining!!
WO, I will email again. Dont know what happened as it didnt tell me it didnt get sent. Oh well, perhaps someone else has my address instead!

YvieE · 03/02/2007 19:12

Hi Ladies

i haven't been on for over a week because my bloody internet isn't working - and I've missed a whole thread .
Hope you are all well, I'm at my mums at the moment so gonna see what I've missed out on.

CaptainDippy · 03/02/2007 19:27

Evening - Just popping on quickly! Hope everyone's having fab weekends! SIL is staying so we're going to have yummy Indian Take-Away and discuss her Wedding Invitations (we're making them...) DD1 has been a little bugger today. Feeling exhausted - hoping they actually sleep past 6am tomrorow!!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 03/02/2007 21:02

Hi all, yes, it was madness on here last night. I couldn't keep up with it all!

MIABT, hope the scattering of the ashes went ok today. My parents had the ashes of one of their cats for ages, as they couldn't face it. They scattered them in the end, but when subsequent cats dies, they didn't get the ashes back as it was just too upsetting. Your poor mum. I hope she is able to rest.

11 weeks - you are so busy all of the time! How do you fit everything in! And very
of your meal out with dh. Hope you enjoyed it.

EllieK, hope you are behaving yourself! If not, hey ho! Just don't get yourself hurt.

Yvie - hello! Bloody internet!!

CD - hope you are enjoying your curry - yummy! I had chicken rogon josh and sag aloo last night.

Well, survived the trip to my grans place, but now knackered. I can totally understand where she is coming from, as she is elderly and has poor sight and lots of other bits and pieces giving up on her. The trouble is her mind is so sharp, so it makes it frustrating for her. Anyway, I have done my bit for now.

How is everyone else tonight?
