I don't know what I'm doing but seen the message saying another thread was needed. I don't know what to add to this but though.

Erm. I'm Derek btw. 35 week on Thursday and due 6/10/16

Sorry but I have no idea what I'm doing 😂

I find the smaller steps I take the less the daggers hurt

DerekSprechenZeDick · 29/09/2016 18:27

She weighs 7lb 4 now. My fluids are normal as well.

So it's just waiting now. I have back ache and heavy feeling low down in stomach.

That's a good tip fresh - small steps! although I sometimes get fanny daggers even when I'm sitting down now. It's when she's having a good ole stretch.

Hope things move along soon derek

kariana how did the baby turning go today? Hope it was successful and you're not too sore.

Afreshstartplease · 29/09/2016 19:55

Well I didn't get a scan after all. Consultant measured and felt bump, said baby was good size and just in a good position low down which is why measurements have dropped apparently.

Good news on the fluids Derek

I get daggers when sitting too, but they are by far the worst when walking!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 29/09/2016 21:44

Daggers are bad tonight.

Mine have been horrible all day

I've decided it doesn't mean anything it's been going on far too long

Kariana · 30/09/2016 10:04

Sadly the turning was unsuccessful (and painful, I joked to the midwife that I wasn't cut out for Labour whilst gripping her hand with tears leaking down my face from the pain). The doctor got baby's bum out my pelvis quite easily but then he just kept dipping his head to his chest rather than rolling round. It occurred to me afterwards that I should have got her to try moving him the opposite way (she suggested this at one point but then we somehow all got distracted and I didn't remember again till she'd gone). I instinctively feel that the problem is he's got his legs stuck straight up over his head to the point where when she was pushing his head down it was just going between his legs and his legs are catching on the edge of the uterus so he can't rotate. He's had his poor little legs like that for weeks and I really feel he's just unable to bend them from the position he's in, especially as I often feel scrabbling movements as if he knows he's supposed to go head down but can't quite make it Sad.

Next step is another try next week. I'm going to ask them to rotate him the other way (like a backward somersault) so that his head goes back through his legs and he will hopefully tuck them up. If they have no luck with that then it's c section at 39 weeks so I hope they manage it.

It's frustrating because I wanted to start doing things to speed his arrival (like eating pineapple!) and now I can't. Also because he's still in the same position I'm still itchy, sore and lumpy around my belly button, plus the procedure gave me a lot of new stretch marks which will now spend another week getting worse Sad I'm really upset at the thought of another week of this but at least he still seems happy in there.

Afreshstartplease · 30/09/2016 10:08

Oh bless you Kariana it sounds really painful and unpleasant. I find it uncomfortable enough when my mw feels for how engaged babies head is! Flowers

LillianFullStop · 30/09/2016 10:27

Oh kariana sorry it was so unpleasant and didn't work this time. At least bub is doing ok and you have another try next week.

Could you refuse a second try and go straight to c-section if that's what you wanted?

Nickname1980 · 30/09/2016 10:54

Oh no kariana, that sounds so unpleasant, poor you! Flowers

Whoopiedoo · 30/09/2016 15:35

Kariana hope you don't mind me posting to you, I'm on the september thread and just had a look at October to see if any lo's had arrived early. My baby was born by section last week due to being transverse lie, she went head down at 37 weeks and then back to transverse again. She also had her legs in a pike position at a lot of the scans. I refused an ECV at 38 weeks and after the delivery the surgeon told me there was no way my baby would've turned head down again as I have a heart shaped uterus so baby was basically stuck on one side. Sometimes there's a reason they won't turn. If you end up with a section it will be fine, 8 days on I'm off the painkillers and recovering really well. Good luck!

Whoopiedoo · 30/09/2016 15:38

Also Kariana my lo moved constantly in the last few weeks as if she was trying to turn, her head remained under my ribs but her bum kept sliding up and down on my left side from my ribs to my pelvis.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 30/09/2016 16:28

Pain in pelvis today. I've walked a lot so might be that.

Kariana · 30/09/2016 23:40

Lillian I could not have the second try at turning, it was completely up to me. If I had refused they would have booked a c section date then and there. If they can't turn him next week it will be booked then.

Whoopie it's nice to hear a positive CS story. I have been worried about the possibility of a heart shaped uterus, but on the other hand his head is well down away from my ribs (actually to the right of my belly button) so that makes me think there is room at the bottom of my uterus. On the other hand I'm wondering if his legs are stuck because the uterus is heart shaped and they are stuck at the top at the wide part, if that makes sense. He's been in this position now for around 7 weeks and I don't think he's once bent his legs, poor thing!

The waiting is the hardest part because I thought they would only have one go at turning and that the decision would be made then. I'm glad there is still a chance but not knowing either way for another week is frustrating. Also my stomach is so tender and the head is sticking out so far that I'm in constant pain, like baby is pressing on a large bruise and my skin is being ripped apart. Reached the point today where it's started to make me feel a bit sick. I don't think my body understands why something keeps pressing on such a tender spot!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/10/2016 04:55

I keep waking up at 4am for cereal. Now I'm wide awake...

Nail appointment at 10

No sign of anything happening

kariana that sounds really tough. I hope you can keep going another week and it turns.
I'm 38 + 3 today and had a few pains earlier but they have stopped. I'm pretty sure I've got another 3 weeks to go so I'm trying to stay relaxed about it. I've done loads of batch cooking so the freezer is now full. First week of leave has been nice but a little bit dull. DH keeps joking about me not being at work and having lazy days so I (not very gently) reminded him I was nine months effing pregnant, carrying his child and if I wanted to watch a film and snooze in an afternoon I'm bloody well going to. He's not made another comment since so I've nipped that one in the bud.
I'm off to yoga today, it really helps my lower back and it's a nice way to meet people.

Afreshstartplease · 01/10/2016 08:16

What's your cereal of choice Derek? Ivr just had cocopops. Healthy choices Blush

All three DC seem to be in appalling moods here this morning and it's only bloody 815......

Kariana · 01/10/2016 10:47

I've had many bowls of 4am cereal this pregnancy Derek, it seems to taste better somehow Grin

Thanks positivity, just got to keep going and try to ignore the pain for another week now. My dh is generally quite good about things, but keeps saying 'not long to go' when I moan. He's trying to be reassuring and positive but I let him know last night that it really isn't helpful to keep saying that when it could be anything from 1 day to 4 weeks. All it does is remind me that I have no set end point in sight!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/10/2016 11:19

There was only chocolate cheerios in.

I wanted Weetos or Cocopops.

Afreshstartplease · 01/10/2016 11:21

Cereal choices in your house sound as healthy as in mine Derek !

DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/10/2016 12:06

Chocolately milk is the best kind Grin

I've got pain in my arse cheek. What is that? It's like a dull period type pain. This is new

Afreshstartplease · 01/10/2016 12:08

Baby on a nerve maybe ?

DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/10/2016 15:02

Went out and after about 15 mins of waking I got a shooting pain up my stomach that made me say oh fuck quite loud

TeaGirl3 · 01/10/2016 15:30

Hi everyone, I'll be 38 weeks on Monday and I'm definitely done with being pregnant now! Baby is feeling much heavier today and feels like it's lower down; my OH is convinced DC1 will make their appearance next week. Is this the start or just what happens slowly over the last few weeks?

DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/10/2016 15:46

Just what happens.

I'm 39 week + 2 and all the signs are there then they disappear
