Starting a fresh new thread for us!

I think Fedup asked about Elderberries and if anyone had heard from her... I haven't seen her name pop up in a while, but I'm not on the FB group either. I've been wondering the same about almondbutter, haven't seen her on here for a while now and know she was really suffering with sickness.

I pretended I was asleep when the Bounty lady came round last time. After a long (38hr!) labour and not much sleep I wasn't up for a fight but didn't want to give my details.

Spottyladybird · 31/08/2016 22:11

Also suffering from PGP and am back at work for PD day tomorrow. Think I'll take a cushion and warn my boss I might have to go for a wander regularly as it's worse if I sit for too long.

Fedupithink · 01/09/2016 08:11

Oh Tired Lydia is a lovely name but I agree odd to call baby by a real name until they are here. We decided not to share names with anyone in RL as we shared one early on and got a few raised eyebrows but turns out my DH has been texting the list to MIL weekly and speaking to my dad about them - not happy! He said he forgot!

Ours are a bit of an eclectic mix so we have a "shortlist" of: Isabelle, Amelia, Lauren, Ella, Sophie or Sophia, Zoe, Harlow, Harper, Ellie, Zara, Isla, Poppy, Lyla and Lucy.

So sorry to hear lots of your are suffering with pain, hope you all get the help you need. Will PGP/SPD affect the type of birth you can have/get?

tiredmumrighthere · 01/09/2016 08:45

Thank you fedup, I really like it and so does DP so I hope we can use it.
I love Isla!
Our shortlist also included Savannah, Layla and Lacey.

I've also got spd and its so painful had it with my DD 2 years ago and I was so worried about giving birth, because to open my legs was excruciating! I brought this up a couple of times with the consultant I was under at the time and she said you just give birth as normal, I fretted about it everyday until I was in labour and the pain from that was enough to make me forget about the spd Shock

bobcat85 · 01/09/2016 10:38

I think we've settled on Felix but we have other names we've agreed on just in case we change our minds including Charlie, Oscar and Benjamin.

needanewjob · 01/09/2016 11:14

Just checking in on new thread! Have officially finished work which feels crazy early but hey ho just hope we can stretch the pennies out!

We've shortlisted now too...we like Benjamin, Charlie or Finn at the moment. I'd say Benjamin is currently the favourite but we've said we will wait till the little guy arrives before we make a final decision.

Gembear25 · 01/09/2016 12:29

Hi all,
31 weeks today and finish work in 5 weeks, cannot come soon enough lol! Not feeling too bad this week as only have to work 2 days which definitely helps 😊
We've pretty much decided on Jasper as a name unless he really doesn't look like a Jasper once he arrives!

madeinmorningside · 01/09/2016 15:55

Felix is on our shortlist as well as Noah and Alexander. We are struggling with boys names tho. Girls names seem so much easier!

catmombaby16 · 01/09/2016 16:09

Hi All,

Hope its OK to join? I posted on an earlier thread but haven't posted much just read.

I am 27wks and 5days today - due 26th November. I am really overwhelmed at the moment with everything and what I need to get! I have Gestational Diabetes & have to inject Tinzaparin daily too. That isn't fazing me at all though!

There is a lovely Midwife Led Unit at out hospital but because I am 'High Risk' due to age and BMI I have to go to the ward, where I am told they wont induce me due to the Tinzaparin or be able to have an epidural unless pre planned....have so many questions! Seeing consultant in Sept so will go armed with the questions.

I would love a water birth and they have a pool room on the consultant led ward so fingers crossed for that!

Spottyladybird · 01/09/2016 17:57

Lots of names here too:

We like Matilda or Florence for a girl and Henry or Stanley for a boy.

First day back at work today after 6 weeks. People swinging between- wow you're huge and oh you're so neat!!

Stretchedfortime · 01/09/2016 18:20

Welcome catmom. I think I'm about to be in a similar situation due to gestational diabetes. By the way, have you seen the gestational diabetes UK Mums group on Facebook? It's been a great help to me.
It's a bit odd as I'm going for hypnobirthing classes and obviously all the talk is about natural birth, which I would love. But I'm not sure if I'm going to have to have an early induction. I'm so confused I've booked an appointment with an independent midwife to talk it all through. Do let me know what your consultant says. Good luck!

JadeT2 · 01/09/2016 19:29

I keep getting stories of people who have gone into labour at my stage (30 weeks) and it's making me slightly concerned that I haven't thought about packing my bag or bought enough things. Oh well!

Got a letter through about low iron levels today, Hb count of 107 which is apparently the higher end of low levels so I'm considering just using multivitamins and improving my diet rather than struggling to take iron tablets...

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 01/09/2016 22:45

Great name choices spotty. My dd has your first girl name and my best mummy friend's ds is your first boy name so I think you've got great taste! I'm lucky that my school isn't back until Monday. Not looking forward to having to per to a timetable Confused

Fedupithink · 02/09/2016 07:07

Some lovely names here, lucky babies! I was so convinced little one was a boy I'd already got my names so struggling a bit with narrowing down the girl options.

I've had such a busy week and poor sleep plus dinners out with work that I really feel quite ill today. My legs are swollen, I'm achey all over and want to sleep for at least a fortnight. I've got an insane press day today so no chance of taking it easy. This is the first time I've really felt off since the early days so not sure what to do with myself. Roll on 5pm.

Happy Friday everyone!

CocklesandMussels · 03/09/2016 08:27

Nice to catch up after a few days of not being able to read any news. We had a last-minute short break to Dorset after we left the in-laws. It was lovely, and quite blissful not to have any internet signal!
Back to reality now and we have to start packing for the flat move. It seems there is too much going on at the moment!

There are so many lovely names on this thread. We still don't know what to choose. We have quite different tastes (Eg I like Florence, husband likes Zoe). We might just have to choose after they are born I think.

I've also heard a few people delivering at around 30 weeks so probably should have my bag packed, but I'm nowhere near ready.

Fedupithink · 03/09/2016 10:59

I've just been looking at the hospital bag lists online, lots more to start buying!

A friend of mine had a baby at 31+2 a few months ago so want to be as prepared as possible. They had nothing ready bar one outfit so it was all a bit manic.

I want to get the Christmas shopping done before birth too so its all done, I'd better get cracking. Enjoy your weekends everyone!

Bollyroo · 03/09/2016 13:29

Has anyone else been woken up with terrible leg cramp? Didn't think cramp could be that painful! Almost not looking forward to bedtime in case it happens again. Almost.

needanewjob · 03/09/2016 13:58

Oh bolly that sounds horrible. I've not been getting cramps but I do get a sore hip by morning (everything is starting to soften for birth I think) also my heartburn is particularly unpleasant at around 3 in the morning!

tiredmumrighthere · 03/09/2016 14:16

Bolly-I get woken up with cramp in my calf 2/3 a night on top of the 2/3 toilet trips a night too Sad yep going to bed is such a joy lately Confused

AyeAmarok · 03/09/2016 15:34

Bolly yes I'm the same. In my calf it's only in one leg, but I get it in both feet.

I mentioned it to my midwife and she said it's quite common for that to happen in this stage of pregnancy.

AyeAmarok · 03/09/2016 15:39

Jade I just got the same letter as you today, exact same number of 107!

Unfortunately I've already been taking iron supplements and it's still that low. Confused And I actually stopped taking them a few days ago as they didn't agree with me and were giving me some scary side effects. So now I've got that letter I'm not sure what to do.

Spottyladybird · 03/09/2016 16:26

I get the cramps too. I've found a glass of tonic water before bed helps, apparently a banana is good too (I don't like bananas!!)

I'm going to have my iron levels retested this week, still feeling seriously pants though so I'm sure it'll still be low.

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 03/09/2016 17:01

The cramps are killing me too!

I'm feeling a bit shitty at the moment. I've had a glomus tumour under my nail for years which has only recently been diagnosed. They're usually benign so no major worries, but they cause such horrendous pain so that, combined with generally feeling uncomfortable, is keeping me awake at night.

Now it's diagnosed the NHS doctor has said they can remove it but not while I'm pregnant or while I have a newborn, so it won't be for at least another year! I've been trying to find a private surgeon to remove it by local anaesthetic before the baby is born because things like folding the pushchair and getting the car seat in and out are really difficult with the pain.

I just want it gone! (Sorry for the rant - it's completely un-pregnancy related but I'm just so tired and it's not helping!)

CocklesandMussels · 03/09/2016 18:03

Argh cramps. And restless legs. I also find tonic water good. I put a squeeze of lime and some ice in to make it feel more like a G&T. I've also found that if I get dehydrated it's far worse, so I'm trying to drink plenty of water. Also, the vitamin D tablets made it really really bad in my last pregnancy, so I just tried to get some sunlight and enough in my diet. I'm now taking half a tablet a day but it's still quite bad. Any other top tips?

tiredmumrighthere · 03/09/2016 18:38

Anyone else's baby really active? This one doesn't stop moving/kicking and it's really quite painful, she kicks and it makes me jump it's so strong Shock

I know it's early but I'm actually done with being pregnant now Confused I ache everywhere, I'm exhausted and quite frankly I want a large alcoholic beverage and my body back Hmm
