Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Flowers Miley. Sorry to hear you've had a rough day. Get yourself a treat and an early night and hopefully you'll feel a bit better tomorrow.

BunchOfBobs · 01/09/2016 20:56

Got you Canters, I've been following you from the beginning but am just hasn't linked your two accounts. Lovely new hair Smile

BunchOfBobs · 01/09/2016 21:05

Miley sorry you've had such a bad day. Hope tomorrow is better for you.

Potato glad it's not just me with the dummies. Thank you for the infracol tip, we're on it now and finally have a settled sleepy little man doing his Moro reflex arm throwing constantly. Grin

I keep trying to eat Atticus' cheeks and ear when he's in the sling, he's just too delicious and so soft and squidgy.

We tried DTD in the run up to labour but DH couldn't finish through fear of hurting me...Hmm Oddly have been so in the mood despite my nether trauma. So has DH too. Thought mum dreading the event as apparently my scar may hurt,

Feefeefs · 01/09/2016 21:21

Thanks pink, miley and bunch. Hope you feel better after your cry miley, I always have a great sleep after a cry

Congrats leonie so happy for you.

Poor you Cosmo! Not long left now.

Hope Arya feels a bit more settled soon potato. Congrats on registering her.

You're welcome Elle sorry again I was so slow!

It is may thanks!

Have my driving test tomorrow not told anyone in real life tho because the repetitive questions about stuff like that makes me really nervous. It's been a mad week though with the house and extra lessons and work is bonkers!!

HepKestrel · 01/09/2016 22:46

Good luck for your test feefs!

Maybe I'll have to check out this Instagram thing....

Sodasoda · 01/09/2016 23:11

Good luck in your driving test feefs

Sorry you've had a shitty day miley

Nice to have a definite end date in mind pink

Im a little concerned that junior doctors have announced they're striking 12-16 September. My due date is 14! Confused

Huge congrats Danni. What a gorgeous face. Sorry to hear it was traumatic. Hope you're both doing well, enjoy those cuddles.

PotatosMum · 02/09/2016 02:23

Congrats Dannie and welcome baby Mason Grin sorry your labour was traumatic but please share your story.

Feef good luck for your driving test Smile

Soda don't worry about the strike. It won't effect the maternity ward as they still have to provide a safe level of cover and you can't ask babies to wait until after the strike to be born Wink

I'm slightly concerned OH ha slipped into a coma. Arya just screamed the house down and he didn't even twitch Confused

leoniethelioness · 02/09/2016 03:29

Congratulations, Danni! Hi Mason!

Sodasoda · 02/09/2016 05:33

Hooray danni! Congratulations, look at his lovely little face!

I'm in the wide awake gang today. Woke about 4 with strange stomach pains all over my bump and down below. I managed to convince myself I'm in labour (pretty certain I'm not!!) so am currently in the lounge eating toast and bouncing on my birthing ball. Hmm

Danni89 · 02/09/2016 06:09

So was having contractions most of Tuesday, Started bleeding bright red blood Tuesday night about 11pm. So me, oh and mum made our way to the triage. Got checked over and I was 3cm dilated and having regular contractions. She said I could go home or walk the grounds/stay in a spare room for a couple of hours to see if the dilation increases. So we waited and stayed, by 8am I was 7cm dilated and able to go down to the birthing centre where I wanted my water birth. I was in the pool for a good 3 hours, but I was getting restless so I got out to try other things. Slow and painful progression to 10cm, pushed for like 2 hours! They decided I needed help.. So had to go down to the labour ward for a cup to be inserted to babies head to help me push- loads of doctors were in the room (scary). Had to have a numbing injection and get a small cut (2nd degree).. But finally with 2 or 3 pushes he was here. Turns out the cord was stuck round his neck which is why things weren't progressing when I pushed him on my own. Wow it was a longgg and tiring day, felt like I was dying and felt like giving up lots of times- but I did it!! Oh and then I had to sit there to be stitched up for 15 minutes. Mad day but my prince is here born at 18:50, 7lb1 and gorgeous.

Sorry for long story, happy to answer any questions X

leoniethelioness · 02/09/2016 06:23

Well done, Danni! I should post a similar update about my labour too - not quite as dramatic as yours but complicated too as baby was footling breech (feet first) and there was a real risk of cord prolapse. He is snuggled on my chest after refusing to take my second breast while DH preparea his top up bottle.

IndiX · 02/09/2016 06:33

Congratulations danni! What lovely news to wake up to. Sorry the birth was traumatic but at least your little prince has arrived safely. He's so gorgeous, welcome to the world little MasonStarFlowers

Good luck for your test today feefs

Miley I hope today is a better day for you. I quite often have a good cry and it relieves a bit of the hormonal build up.

It's DH's birthday today, I've just woken him by crying my eyes out while having a nightmare. Poor DH was shit scared something was wrong with me or the baby. I haven't had a nightmare like that for years..I think my mind is running overtime atm!
Going in to Manchester today for a nice lunch and then my family is coming round tonight for a birthday dinner for him (he's not that close to his own family).

Hope everyone is doing well, I love reading the new mummy stories. It's true what someone else said, my RL friends only tell me of the tiredness or stressful stories too, maybe because they want to offload, but it's lovely to hear all your warm and snuggly baby stories.

drinkyourmilk · 02/09/2016 06:33

This thread moves fast! Can't step away for a couple of days.
Shelb congratulations! Sorry it was a bit traumatic

Nev congratulations to you too!
Thanks for the info Hep, I've not heard good things about bounty at all.

PotatosMum · 02/09/2016 06:34

Danni that does sound stressful but you did it! And now you have your LO to cuddle. The memory of the birth will fade really quickly until it feels like it happened to someone else.

Pink how's things? Any progress?

Soda do you have any back pain? Does the pain come in waves?

We've just had our 6am feed. Time for a snuggle and then hopefully a couple more hours sleep!
OH goes back to work on Tuesday. I'm somewhat terrified of being on my own from then.Confused

drinkyourmilk · 02/09/2016 06:51

Feef fantastic news on the house! Time to get packing.
Hurrah for being home Leonie, you've had such a difficult start but you made it!
Canters that's a fab scan.

BunchOfBobs · 02/09/2016 06:59

Trapped wind in babies is the work of the devil. I've been up since 4. He only settles when being cuddled by me. He's letting out the hugest farts and I swear the infracol (thank you Potato) is helping getting them out but he's still squirming and unhappy. Gah, I feel so helpless but at least he can sleep through the cramping when being cuddled by me. Just wish I could do the same.

Danni thanks for sharing. Hope you're recovering well now. With the stitches I can highly recommend peeing in the shower if it stings. I never could get the hang of pouring warm water over myself whilst peeing. It just went all over the floor. It helps keep the area clean too. Tea tree baths help and if you can face it as much nethers naked time to keep the area dry. I only resorted to all of this once the infection set in but apparently it's good practice from the beginning as it helps with the healing. I sit/lie on a towel over the puppy pads/dry night sheets. I barely need them now though.

Also look into cranial osteopathy for Mason. It'll help due to him having a ventouse birth. Atticus has a really stiff neck from the forceps and it's recommended for instrumental births, it's definitely helping us .

Sodasoda · 02/09/2016 06:59

Well done danni that does sound traumatic but you did it!

Sorry about the nightmare indi hope you both enjoy your OH's birthday

Potato you've been doing amazing so far, im sure you'll be find once your OH goes back to work. I wouldn't say the pain comes in waves, it's more low level and constant. I've got lower back pain too and it kind of feels like I need a poo... Perhaps I've just eaten something funny? Blush

drinkyourmilk · 02/09/2016 07:08

Bunch and Potato I love reading your mummy stories. Makes me well up stupidhormones--
Good luck with the driving test feefs
Huge congratulations Danni, what an absolute poppet! Sorry to hear the birth was traumatic , but look at the end result. Star

shelbTa · 02/09/2016 07:25

Morning

Wow - baby bonanza, congrats everyone!!

Danni - sorry you went through, sounds similar to mine in many ways.

Pink - how's things coming along?! Been dying to know.

Bunch - wind is my nemesis. Just when I think she's settled in her crib nodding off, the squirmy face starts. I'm struggling to get much wind up though, and then she's sick as a result - any tips anyone?

Waves to everyone. I didn't realise it was possible to be this tired and yet still be alive.

X

drinkyourmilk · 02/09/2016 07:43

Ladies struggling with wind- try tiger in the tree hold. Worked really well when I was maternity nannying.

Pinklily1 · 02/09/2016 07:43

Hi ladies

Just wanted to say a huge congratulations Dannii on the birth of Mason - he's adorable! Sorry if I've missed this, does he have a middle name? Sorry to hear the birth was traumatic though. Are you home yet?

feefs, good luck with your driving test today.

Soda, how many weeks are you now? Could it be early labour?

I'm feeling crappy today. I'm now 40+3 and fed up. I had what I thought were mild contractions yesterday, then nothing at all overnight. This seems to be a pattern now - things look vaguely hopeful during the day, I come to bed thinking things will ramp up overnight and then nothing happens.

I thought I was fairly relaxed about my birth plan (I know what I want ideally but equally appreciate that things don't always go the way you hope) but now I'm beginning to panic at the real possibility of being induced.

Sorry for the moan.

Hope everyone else is doing well. It's Friday at least for those still at work!
