{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} to you Ellie K.

flumppootle · 01/02/2007 11:06

Huge hugs EllieK

maveta · 01/02/2007 11:11

I'm sorry Ellie. I can't think of anything to say that doesn't sound like a tired old cliche so just know we are all here to listen. x

CaptainDippy · 01/02/2007 11:27

Oh EllieK - I am so for you. [[hugs] You know where we are sweetie. Just concetrate on those beautiful children of yours - they are both so precious and lucky to have a lovely mummy like you!

to "fishy noses" and "sicky rooms" - We are Super Mums dealing with all this AND being PG too - we deserve an award - DD1 poo-ed spectacularly all over the conservatory this morning - everything was covered in it - inc her little sister - Nice! Hope that makes you feel at least a little better SOSPL and runny!! Power" Type Hugs]]] How are you feeling physically today runny?

I have consultant appt this afternoon - Would rather be doing housework - and that is saying something!!!!! Have to have 2 x HVS and blood tests (not great with needles) and probably some doddery old man asking me lots of personal questions ..... Fan"bloody"tastic. Sigh.

mammyjo · 01/02/2007 11:31

CD, hope the appointment goes ok today. Do you have to take your girls with you too as little ones always make appointments more stressful dont they! Oh the joy of the HVS!! There is no dignity in pregnancy and childbirth whatsoever!!!

eca · 01/02/2007 11:33

oh, ellie, that's awful, you must be feeling terrible.

CaptainDippy · 01/02/2007 11:39

No - my girls will be at nursery (Thurs is my "housework" afternoon - read: "eating crap, posting on MN, making phone calls to friends, reading a book, reading the paper, doing basically anything to actually avoid doing "housework"" )

So I'll be all on my lonesome ..... Sob.....

claricebean · 01/02/2007 11:51

Just checking in quickly. My parents have taken DS out and are collecting DDs from school on way home. Am not used to having extra support on hand, so it's great. Have just returned from tetanus jab and have GTT tomorrow [yuk emoticon] but am going to have a little snooze now .

Ellie - how awful. Poor you. Cyber hugs. hope you're taking some comfort from your DC and they're looking after you.

SOSPL - yuk, yuk, yuk at thing up DD's nose. That sounds horrid. Poor you.

RH - I get those awful stitch pains in my bump sometimes, sort of under it and at one side. They're agonising. You can't move when they strike and, even though you know you have to get into another position to ease the pain, you don't know what that position is till you get there. Cue more pain. Interesting that the MW said it's linked with SPD. I have that but so far mildly.

OK, bed calling. Take care all.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 01/02/2007 11:54

Ellie, I am so sorry things haven't workesd out with Stephen. Don't really know what to say, other than please look after yourself and Matthew. Huge hugs to you.

I have my mw coming soon, and she is going to take blood! Oh No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Feel wobbly already at the thought of it.
Becky is at preschool thankfully, as not sure what she would make of it all!

Anyway, better get on.

Hugs to everyone who needs them.

CD - eughhhh to your dd pooing in the conservatory. God we get some great jobs don't we!!

weeonion · 01/02/2007 12:03

ellie - others have said it but another huge set of hugs to you. its neve easy when things dont work out but it is harder when you cant see any real reason for it. lok after yrself babe. xoxoxooxooo

twinkle183 · 01/02/2007 12:19

twinkle183 (30+5)

nuttygirl · 01/02/2007 12:42

HUGS to everyone who's feeling ccrappy/not sleeping well.

Take care of yourself EllieK, don't know what to say that hasn't already been said.

SOL - good luck for the blood taking!

CD - hope everything goes ok this afternoon. What is a HVS? (is that a stupid question that I should know the answer to?)

Got mw appointment at 2.30 and SIL has her first scan today so got my fingers crossed everything goes well for her. Think they're going to email the scan pics so I can see them! She's not sure of her dates cos mw thinks she's 12 weeks but she has long cycles so she thinks she's only 9 weeks.

Liath - hope your sis is getting on ok...any news yet?

nuttygirl · 01/02/2007 12:43

Twinkle - I'm thinking about the birth too...have even packed hospital bag!!!

Katy44 · 01/02/2007 12:48

Hi everyone,
Ellie, so sorry to hear that. Hope you are looking after yourself and taking things easy.
weeonion - is the CD the one that comes in the hypnobirthing book? If so, I've got one too but haven't listened yet. Will have to if it's good. I'm happy to send copies to people too (if it's the right one!!) so share them out!

Bugmum · 01/02/2007 13:02

EllieK I don't have anything to add, except that I too am thinking of you and sending hugs.

Twinkle If it is warm enough where you are, try letting the air get to the scabs. Calamine needs to be re-applied all the time, which is also easier if you don't have to take a million clothes off. My DS had it about a year ago - I remember it well!

mammyjo · 01/02/2007 13:04

Hi Twinkle, when ds had chickenpox the pharmacist recommended giving him piriton. It helps to stop the itching and can also make them drowsy meaning you may get a couple of hours sleep out of them!! I found it worked quite well with ds but obviously check with your pharmacy.

WO, thanks very much. I really dont mind sending you a disc though. Shall I email you my address?

hotlipsmummy · 01/02/2007 13:18

Twinkle - my DS has just recovered from the pox! He's younger than your though and it seems to have been quite mild. But we used lots of calamine lotion and also piriton (and Calpol!) at bedtime. Seemed to help him sleep... Good luck. Should only last a week...

Hello everyone else. Hugs to those that need them. Manic day at work today so can't stop!!

weeonion · 01/02/2007 13:24

wishes to all those with pox...

mammyjo- please dont worry about a cd - i have stack of blank ones right here beside me. we have a habit of making bizarre compilations for pals for every event so there is always plenty around. dp is working on 3 new ones - a prebirth for the bean, a labour one for me and a postbirth one for him and the bean when he is up doing night feeds!!
email me yr address - L dot thompson773 at ntlworld dot com

katy44 - i got the mongan hypnobirthing book - is that yours as well??

liath · 01/02/2007 13:31

Hi all, no real news yet - sister has had a pessary but no sign of labour yet. Really hoping it goes OK as she had a horrible labour last time and has had a pretty grotty pregnancy too. Hate waiting on tenterhooks like this....

Ellie, big hugs and so sorry you've been let down like this. Hugs and sympathies too for all of you coping with vomit/poo/pox etc etc - what a week we're all having!

MUST do some housework!

Katy44 · 01/02/2007 13:36

weeonion, yes, that's the one! I have to say I found bits of it useful, and some of it a bit too much. I bought it because I wanted to learn about breathing techniques for labour, which it did do but I think I'm too impatient and really need to learn how to relax. I'll try the CD tonight.
As I said, if lots of people want copies, am happy to send some out as well so you're not doing them all!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 01/02/2007 13:50

Hiya, survived the blood taking! Mw measured me a little but smaller than the 27 + 4 weeks, but is not worried about the baby which is good. Hurrah!

How is everyone else?

Liath, your poor sister. Who'd have children eh?

Time for a rather late lunch!

muminabigtumi · 01/02/2007 13:52

Hi girls

EllieK - just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you my lovely, I am a great beleiver in "what is for you won't go by you" in this life....just know you must be gutted and I really feel for you.
Runny - what a hideous night - I hope that things get back to normal soon and you get some sleep.
SOSPL - OMG.....I think that may have even put me off a Creme Egg!!!! - gross lol Hope the midwife managed to get your blood ok - just look away and think of chocolate....

CD - Hope the HVS isn't too uncomfortable...
Laith - thinking of your sis
Eca - had to laugh at the guy you work with ....poor soul - I reckon you wind him up with a few Braxton Hicks...lol "evil grin emoticon"

Thanks again to everyone who has replied to my post about my neighbour. I think I am just going to have to ignore the diary. When I see her I will just be civil and see what happens...if she does say anything to me I think I will just tel her I have read it and found it hurtful and would rather just keep my distance if she obviously finds it difficult being in contact with me.
I just worry about when baby comes - I will be panicking when it cries and when we are in the garden etc that she can hear it and it upsets her. I can't help that but I know I must try to not let it spoil things....

1b3 - you takeit easy hun - as the others have said - you have so much on your plate - glad DH is realising....you especially need to wrap yourself up in Cotton Wool now....Hug

Birdie -hope your flu is not too bad today

Huge apologies to anyone else I've missed.

Hi weeonion, GMM, Maveta and Katy44 and everyone else!!!

I too can join the "getting no sleep club" I woke at 1am - DRENCHED in sweat....has anyone else had this?
I then just could not sleep at all....cried on Phil as he left for work as I just felt so grotty...

Oh god - I'm going to sound like such a cow now...whilst typing that my Mum has just dropped James back. She normally has him till 4.30 so I was planning a kip....well thats just gone out the window.... never mind....

Asked midwife about SPD pain today and she has got me an appointment for some Physio next Wed morning so hopefully that will give me some hints and tips - I will be sure to pass on.

Right must go - see if the boy wonder is in a cuddle up on the settee and have a kip with Mummy mood....
x

WO, which book is it exactly, am thinking I might buy a copy now!
