New thread because the old one's about to hit the 1000 posts mark.

OP posts:

I know Moss, it sounds ridiculous doesn't it, but there are toys and stuff everywhere, (it takes about a minute to get in that state,) she's here for two hours and if she has to spend all her time tidying up she won't have time to vacuum, plus she doesn't know where things belong...I might have to give up my efforts though, I'm getting so many braxton Hicks contraction it's really hard to do anything ...I need a saveloy (isn't that a cabbage?)

rosylonginglily · 12/02/2007 16:42

Blackadder line...very funny

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 12/02/2007 16:49

I have found out, it is a sausage !

divastropwantstodrop · 12/02/2007 16:51

no its a large smoked sausage in a skin that you have to peel off

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 12/02/2007 16:51

My God, you lot have been chin wagging this afternoon

Piffle, join the crap dp/dh club
For any dh/dp that reads this we don't mean that you are crap we mean the there are certain things that you do, or more importantly don't do that us heavily preg women find upsetting.

Foxy, excellent mortgage news, what a huge relief.

Diva, your mate does sound like mine

Well, good news on the scan front. it's stilla boy. Now, according to the results he has a smallish head (excellent news), a fat tummy and legs that go off the chart. Now I find these results somewhat suspect and am taking them all with a big pinch of salt!!
Estimated weight NOW is 6lb 2oz at 34 + 5 weeeks .

Anyway, I have to go back annoyingly in 3 weeks to have a chat with the consultant about god knows what. The woman I saw today said it was about me wanting a hb and to check on baby. I wish they would stop trying to fight me. Last time I refused a consultant appt, I'm only going this time to check on baby, but I might cancel it tbh

So, a least the grow baby diet seems to have worked. At least I haven't got a fat back for nothing

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 12/02/2007 16:52

Diva am I the only one here who is really immature and finds the idea of peeling the skin off a really large sausage very amusing?

rosylonginglily · 12/02/2007 16:53

it sounds disgusterous, how can you prefer that to pie and gravy chips? Anyway it's a no no for me, dh would never kiss me again if I ate piggy!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 12/02/2007 16:53

X-posts Kitty glad your scan was okay!

at them trying to talk you out of a home birth though. What a waste of resources!!

Hello all

Just a quickie as my effing modem has bust and I am in an internet cafe very quickly on the way to get DD from nursery. I've only just skimmed the thread since I was last here - sorry for the brief message.

To anyone worried about having a CS - please try not to. I had an em CS last time and it was absolutely fine. Not scary or creepy, pain free (though you could feel some pulling and tugging, but it HONESTLY didn't hurt - and I am a wimp!) and about 35-40 mins from first cut to leaving theatre. DH was there and got first hold and I saw my lovely Lucy within seconds as they lifted her right up as she came out. I couldn't hold her as I was shaking a bit and worried I might drop her, but I got a cuddle in recovery about 1hour after she was born and she fed straight away. I was out of bed the same day, down to the hosp shop the next morning for chocolate rations and home 2 days later. Even though my labour wasn't very good til the section, I still look on the whole birth experience as positive. So much so, I'm having another CS on 19th March. So please don't let it stress you - obviously, better to avoid surgery if you can, but if you do end up with CS it's not the end of the world .

The driving thing is about insurance = as Eids said, you have to be able to do a hard emergency stop without worrying about your tummy. It also helps if you can turn round to reverse without it being agony. I was told in hospital that I should check I feel up to these 2 things and then phone the insurers to check that I was covered. no time limit as such was imposed. HTH.

Sorry for all those having man trouble. My DH was surprised on sat that I didn't fancy a 6 mile walk but took DD out on Sun so I could have a rest. I put up a lovely maisy border in her bedroom, which she ripped a piece out of in the evening after I'd put her to bed . I cried so loudly DH came hurtling up the stairs thinking i'd gone into labour. Still, DD and I are friends again now. Had to buy anohter roll of border though....

Must run before nursery send in the heavies. WIth any luck my new modem will arrive tomorrow morning and I'll be able to post properly. Have a good evening and take care.

Love to all XXXXXX

I have just come back from a shopping expedition to Matalan and Lidl. Got a 5 pack of granny pants for 2.50 and loads of junk food from lidl . I'm obsessed with flapjacks for some reason but I don't dare look at the calorie content

My flat has gone up a ridiculous amount since I bought it. It's my get out of London card really - I can sell it and buy something much cheaper out in Berkshire and get a much lower paid job if I find the working full-time single parent thing all a bit much.

The only problem is that it's like Hotel California in reverse - once you leave, you can never come back! I'm not sure about living somewhere else - I've been here so long.

divastropwantstodrop · 12/02/2007 16:56

saveloy

DollyPopsOut · 12/02/2007 16:57

Kitty, if he's over 6lbs now, you're looking at 9lbs at term! Well done you! Hope you feel reassured.

Stick to your HB guns my love - my next door neighbour delivered both hers at home and no 2 was 10lb 110z. She's only 5/ 3" and quite petite. She's expecting no 3 and they have said be prepared for over 111 lbs !!!

DollyPopsOut · 12/02/2007 16:57

Or even 11lbs

sazzybee · 12/02/2007 16:58

Glad the scan went well kitty

My work got me a baby gym for my leaving present

foxabout2pop · 12/02/2007 16:58

Kitty - glad your LO has grown - loads by the sound of it.

Sorry you lot, I just can't get excited about sausages atm

rosylonginglily · 12/02/2007 17:01

that's positively obscene that sausage

Kitty, brilliant news!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 12/02/2007 17:04

That's quite a large sausage there Diva. I can't imagine fitting that into my mouth.

Sazzybee flapjacks are yummy! But oats give me really bad heartburn atm

Dolly a six mile walk?! Even if I wasn't pg that would be a bit much!!

divastropwantstodrop · 12/02/2007 17:05

kitty-glad your scan went well, looks like he's going to be big at this rate

rosylonginglily · 12/02/2007 17:06

Moss are you trying to say you have a small mouth?

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 12/02/2007 17:09

No, just that that sausage is a bit longer than the sausage that normally goes in there.

rosylonginglily · 12/02/2007 17:11

haven't you got any teeth?

divastropwantstodrop · 12/02/2007 17:11

i had a thing for flapjacks at the start of this pg.

i used to take large sausages for granted, now i would kill for one.you dont know how much you'll miss something till you're deprived of it

sazzy-i looked into moving back to london a couple of years ago.ha ha ha.i figured it would be possible if i won the lottery jackpot,or suddenly got offered a job that paid 300k a year.

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 12/02/2007 17:18

True Rosy but I wouldn't want to bite the sausage it looks so delicious I'd want to suck it!

Diva, I don't know what to say! I'm going to stop this sausage talk immediately now.

rosylonginglily · 12/02/2007 17:21

hee hee, well don't be sucking on just any old thing that looks like a sausage unless you are ready! I think we've worked out such behaviour can bring on labour!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 12/02/2007 17:23

I love sausages and savaloys
