Miley I just seem to have hit a period of afternoon sleepiness. I thinks it's probably related to the heat in mu case.

Successful shoping trip...I have a Silvercross pioneer waiting for collection and nursery furniture on order. I've indulged myself with the Henley editon of the pram. Next job...crocheted pram blanket to match I think.

Mileymoocow · 23/07/2016 16:12

Ah co5mo I do love a baby shop! What colour pioneer have you gone for? I'm not sure mine is heat related, I was managing fine last week and earlier this week when it was ridiculous temps. Maybe baby is having a little growth spurt

LisaTheSimpson · 23/07/2016 16:15

Miley, that's lovely you have so many family and friends also pregnant/with newborns right now! Does it make you feel broody to meet yours? Wink

Co5mo · 23/07/2016 16:22

I went for this one...Our friends have just had a black one and I wasn't taken with the brighter colours.

Mileymoocow · 23/07/2016 16:27

co5mo that's gorgeous! I love the quilted effect!

lisa like you wouldn't believe! I keep reminding myself baby will cook in his or her own the but I'm desperate to meet them!

Just a heads up for those of us who haven't yet bought their car seats - mothercare have a deal on until 3rd August. If you buy maxi cosi pebble (for babies) and maxi cosi pearl (for toddlers) they throw in the familyfix base (worth £175) for free! Basically getting the next stage car seat for free which is a great deal if you have room to store.

AudreyBradshaw · 23/07/2016 16:52

We've got the pioneer co5mo but I'm (my dad) isn't picking it up until baby is born so I can choose what colour apron/hood to have then. Have the purple car seat though. Need to get the isofix base. Its lovely and exciting going to choose the pram! Grin

Feefeefs · 23/07/2016 17:29

I think a regional thing is when you get it Lisa anytime after 16 weeks in Scotland. You get it from your GP here not sure if midwife does it in other places, no one mentioned it to me I just saw the sign in the doctors office. You can get it safely after 14 weeks and evidence suggests benefit right up till due date so you're not too late!

I also had a nap today miley! I blame the heat.

PotatosMum · 23/07/2016 18:04

Miley I honestly can't remember a time when I didn't feel shattered all the time and want an afternoon nap Confused

I think time both flies and drags when you're pregnant. It's odd, but one week you think you'll be pregnant for ever, the next you're freaking out because you have next to no time left.

Cosmo congrats on the pram purchase Smile

OH keeps looking at me with watery man flu eyes and apologising for infecting me... I keep pointing out that I'm a girl and therefor am obviously not going to get as pathetically ill as he has lol

Saying that, does anyone have a good sore throat remedy?

OP posts:
Mileymoocow · 23/07/2016 18:14

potato I gargle with 50:50 solution of apple cider vinegar and warm water with a teaspoon of sea salt in. Helps fight off any nasty bacteria and is all natural.

Glad I'm not the only one needing a nap. I feel totally pathetic and drained of energy even afterwards though!

LisaTheSimpson · 23/07/2016 18:22

Thanks everyone! I'll ask my midwife about the vaccine and get it sorted x

PotatosMum · 23/07/2016 18:55

Thanks Miley, I'm pretty sure that solution would finish me off though Confused

Got really behind on thread again... Hoping to stay up to date now am off work! Hope you are all doing well Smile

BunchOfBobs · 23/07/2016 21:44

Hi all.
Hope you've all had a lovely Saturday.
Miley I'm here! Sorry for being quiet. Had a day trekking up to my parents to do their garden (DH not me), visit my Nan and get my hair done. Turned into a much longer day than planned.
37 weeks today with a honeydew melon. Pip can officially arrive any day but he darn well better wait at least a week!!

Blood pressure re: yesterday's blip would make sense. I've had a much better day today.

Miley I'm back to napping again now in T3 but didn't so much in T2. So lovely for the IVF couple to have had their miracle baby.

Oh Potato sorry you've gotten ill. Lemon, honey and hot water?

leoniethelioness · 23/07/2016 21:48

Congratulations on starting mat leave, Nev! I've got 7 weeks to go but only a month until I effectively go part time. Can't wait.

Had a nightmare time trying to find maternity trousers in town. Felt fat and miserable all morning. I've decided my bump starts too low for trousers. I can only wear leggings... Trying my luck with some fold over yoga pant style bottoms from Asos but resigned to dresses for the rest of the pregnancy - so also ordered a few in a bigger size that will look decent with leggings. Not sure if I should have gone two sizes up - I feel more and more whale-like every day and I don't feel the dresses I originally bought flatter any more. I think the gain is 90% on my belly and hips but they are enormous now! My original mat dresses are designed for nursing or to fit post pregnancy so hopefully I'll be back in them after baby is here.

Ordered all my hospital toiletries and cotton wool with my Tesco shop today so going to start on my hospital bag this week! I've read lots of lists of what to pack but what might I have forgotten? 10 weeks to go!!

Sodasoda · 24/07/2016 01:00

Hi everyone,

I'm away for the weekend in a cottage in the Peak District. Having a fab time but I'm the first to bed again tonight and it's 1am! Tiring trying to keep up!

Miley - whooping cough vaccine fine for me too. Bit stingy at the time, slight achy arm after but fine really. Lovely you've got lots of friends / family having newborns around the same time.

Lisa - nobody mentioned to me about vaccine either. I saw a notice in hospital and asked midwife. They give if after 28 weeks in London, I booked with nurse at GP surgery. She said it would cover baby until they were 8 weeks and had their own vaccines.

Lillian - I'm also planning on babyZen yoyo! Need to go and try it out but have heard great things and it will hopefully work well for us - London travel plus steps up to our flat. What colour did you go for?

Dr - I'm really glad you're feeling better and have talked to GP. It sounds like you're going through a really tough time.

Potato - hope you feel better soon.

Very envious of people finishing work! I've got Monday - Wednesday off next week and really excited to get baby stuff done! We're going to get our pram, pack hospital bag and put up the cot etc.

Hope everyone has nice Sunday's planned.

PotatosMum · 24/07/2016 07:42

Morning all, how are you doing today?

Nev congrats on hitting maternity leave.

Leonie there's nothing like hunting for clothes when pregnant to make you feel rubbish Sad I was in maternity dresses most of my pregnancy and they did not flatter at all! Now I'm back in maternity jeans but because I have wiggly belly fat at the bottom of my bump they don't look great either. Just remember, it's not forever.

Soda I can't believe you managed to stay up until 1am! That's like a Herculean feat for a pregnant lady.

Despite being a snot monster I didn't get a bad nights sleep and I don't think I'm going to get as poorly as OH did. He's still really bunged up, snotty and pathetic after 4 days but I almost feel like I'm on the road to recovery already. Hoping I'm right and a day or two in bed fixes me. We can't remember if OH got the flu jab this year or not so that might be the reason he got it so badly.

LisaTheSimpson · 24/07/2016 07:42

Thanks Soda, that's really helpful! I'm south-east London, so will chase that up with my midwife.

BunchOfBobs · 24/07/2016 08:15

Morning all.

Glad you're feeling on the mend potato. Fingers crossed you're right.

Leonie hunting for maternity clothes sucks, then to make matters worse they bastard clothes shrink part way through pregnancy nothing to do with me out growing them atall

leoniethelioness · 24/07/2016 09:07

Potato Bunch Yep, evil things! I've topped my Asos order up with a couple of tunics in the Jo Jo Maman Bebe sale. I don't know what I'll do if none of these new things fit... I feel scruffy at work, which makes me feel really self-conscious, as I can't dress as smartly as normal and I want to look pretty/like I care about my personal appearance a little bit for my antenatal classes.

Off out to celebrate mum's birthday today with my 37+1 weeks pregnant sister. Here's hoping to no unexpected arrivals today!

leoniethelioness · 24/07/2016 09:08

Also, belly buttons... Mine is so shallow it's almost gone. I don't want it to pop out. It's a losing battle, isn't it?!

PotatosMum · 24/07/2016 09:54

Leonie my belly button has got really shallow but shows no signs of popping so you might be ok.

The old saying is feed a cold starve a fever isn't it? I ask as its only 10 am and I've already eaten a bowl of soup, 3 slices of bread, a packet of belvita breakfast biscuits and a mars bar... I may be taking things a bit literally Blush

Feefeefs · 24/07/2016 09:54

Congratulations on mat leave nev!

Still in the awkward stage between maternity and some normal clothes. Weight seems to be all bump/belly and boobs so normal jeans and work trousers still fit, although need a bump band to prevent any accidental flashing! 20 weeks tomorrow and half way! Still seems so far away!

Newmrs22 · 24/07/2016 10:01

Morning!

Leonie mine hasn't popped yet, but I think it might in the next week or two. It freaks me out a bit being so shallow.

I'm sick of all my maternity clothes. Def not buying anymore now though. I've found loads of stuff has gone bobbly.

I'm seeing friends later. Need to tidy the house a bit first Blush

ElleSarcasmo · 24/07/2016 10:34

Leonie have you tried over the bump trousers? I am not as far along as you but find them super comfy. I have had some taken up as they are always mega long.

New I'm convinced maternity clothes are less good quality than normal ones in terms of fabric etc.

We're having family round for lunch today. I have slept really badly and hurt my neck and I had a big blubbering meltdown earlier. Why on earth did I think this was a good idea?! I really don't have the energy to be houseproud ATM and the house is a state Sad
