Congratulations Rum and Listner, im better on the facebook group and seeing baby pictures coming through is getting me few my last few days at work.

At 38 weeks I have been asked to provide my MatB form - I uploaded it to the (newish, computersied) system, sent copies my local HR in April as legally oblidged.... now for goodness knows what reason that wasnt good enough and my leave isnt actually confirmed. I recieved a snotty note informing me of a bunch of dates I had to adheer to, all passed. Also people pilling on last minute meetings all day long, as if they havnt noticed im pregnant previously. I have a matter of days left and im being overly emotional - but had a serious melt down this evening.
Felt like id have the baby in the bleeding office I was so furious!

LotsOfDots · 26/07/2016 23:00

Congrats listener another bundle safely arrived!

I have managed to not have this baby on the day my mother made me promise not to, (due to logistical childcare nightmare!) so all is well.

39 weeks tomorrow. Sigh.

Christinedonna · 27/07/2016 09:30

Barely slept all night due to this stomach ache. I really can't think what it might be..other than lack of room in there? It's just so sore to move and my backs killing too so I'm basically disabled for now. Not fair, if it isn't anything to do with her coming then why can't I just be as comfy as possible until she does? OH has the day off and I have some bits to get (birthday presents) and really wanna make the most of having the day together but I feel like just laying in bed and having a little cry

MrsPMT23 · 27/07/2016 11:33

Christine I've no idea what it could be but sounds like you're having a horrible time so sending hugs. Have a lazy day with OH Flowers

BerylMeeps · 27/07/2016 11:36

Still in pain. Lost a large amount of plug and had what I think may be early labour diarrhoea. Please please please let this be the end of pg!!

CheeseandGherkins · 27/07/2016 17:50

Very jealous of the new babies born. Big congratulations and hope you're enjoying the newborn cuddles. I can't wait to get some soon!

How is everyone doing?

I had midwife today and I'm measuring 37 weeks but too be expected (35 weeks tomorrow). Head down but not engaged. I have a feeling she keeps popping in and out as some days she looks, and feels very low, and others she's high and I can't breathe.

Growth scan and consultants Friday. Fingers crossed she isn't too big as they will want her out and I'm growing less fond of being induced as a vbac and more inclined to opt for an elcs. We shall see.

Daytona79 · 27/07/2016 21:25

Well ive had good news, husband getting home a week early from offshore so home in Friday

Yaa hopefully I won't be giving birth alone now.

Hope you feel better soon Christine I've been getting a lot of sore cramps too, I think it's just a sign baby getting ready , could arrive tomorrow could go on a couple of weeks. There just never a way of knowing

Hang in there

LotsOfDots · 27/07/2016 22:23

Glad to hear that daytona you must be relieved!

cheese have they said they will induce if measuring large? My MW said they no longer do that in our health board, my baby was measuring 88th centile at 36 weeks...

beryl hope you are in labour!

christine proper contractions rather than BH are more back pain than bump pain, so maybe you are heading in the right direction?

I have my 39+1 appointment tomorrow so hoping MW will do a sweep.

CheeseandGherkins · 27/07/2016 22:32

Daytona that's great news, just have to hold on until Friday :)

Lots I'm high risk for a number of reasons including a previous stillbirth at 37 weeks due to undiagnosed GD so they (and I) aren't keen to go too long regardless of size. I've been on insulin since 12ish weeks this time again as well so my risks are higher. Last time my consultant was worried as the growth increased towards the end, particularly the abdominal circumference and she wanted baby out. My section was at 37 weeks. Baby before that they induced at 33+ as my blood sugars went very low and they were concerned my placenta was failing. She was 6lb!

Hope you get your sweep.

LotsOfDots · 27/07/2016 23:58

Ahh, I'd missed the GD aspect. So sorry for your previous loss. Hope that they are happy to go with your wishes for ELCS and you get a date sorted.

It's got a bit quiet on here... Are there more queue jumpers out there in labour? Grin

MrsPMT23 · 28/07/2016 10:23

39 weeks today and feeling it. Been horrible the last few days, had a moment last night because DH turned hot water off and I was looking forward to a nice bath. I'm definitely more hormonal.

A bit TMI but is anyone else suddenly really gassy? My heartburn seems to have come back too. Not sleeping well, hoping something happens soon!

Trying to be practical and making lots of freezer slow cooker meals today.

OwlinaTree · 28/07/2016 12:10

Well, I'm 37 weeks today 🎉 so have spent the morning packing the hospital bag. Think I've got most of it, a few new bits to wash, but since it's not my first I've got enough to do for now if I go into labour.

Had yet another scan yesterday to check the cord, all is looking good. The sonographer showed me the baby's face and said it's got a lot of hair, are you getting heart burn? I am as it happens. So maybe that's the case for you mrs, it's going to be a hairy baby!

Christinedonna · 28/07/2016 13:15

Such an exciting thought that they're growing hair in there. I can't wait to see the colour! We're convinced ginger as OH is ginger and it's a strong gene in his family. (Carried by a lot of people, not actually a really strong pale, no eyelashes kind of ginger).
Just had my 38 weeks mw appointment (exactly 38 weeks today).. We have one engaged baby head! Not surprised as I can feel her so low down! So that's exciting, hopefully I won't be left waiting too much longer. I've been wanting to put the car seat and hospital bags in the car for ages but OH said he wants it cleaned first. He hasn't got round to it so I'm taking matters into my own hands and have been sat in the queue at the car wash for the last half an hour! Hoping this means they're doing a thorough job on everyone and not just slow movers!

Christinedonna · 28/07/2016 13:16

Oh also, I had dinner last night and went straight to bed. Within an hour and a half of eating I was up making a sandwich I was so hungry! How odd, feeling very hungry lately..perhaps she's having her growth spurt

Basketofwool · 28/07/2016 13:50

39+6 today. Really fed up. Convinced I will go overdue and need to be induced, and last week I was so sure baby would be early! I hate not having a clue what my body is doing.

I had a sweep today which was quite uncomfortable (!), a bit painful, but I'm glad I did it. Wasn't going to originally but thought I'd regret not giving it a go. Apparently I'm 1cm dilated on external cervix but not dilated on the internal bit (had no idea there were two bits needed to dilate!). Cervix soft but still quite far back. I think it's worth having a sweep just to have an indication of what's going on in there. Although I don't really feel any the wiser!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 28/07/2016 16:00

I'm 38+3 here and I've just been for a pedicure which made me feel lovely and my toes look fabulous. Smile
Bubs is having a bit of a quieter day today, I was up for monitoring a couple of weeks ago and can't decide whether to go up again or not. She's still moving around plenty but not walloping me on the inside for a bit. What do we think? I can't decide Confused.

Slothlikesundays · 28/07/2016 17:03

Alfie I had the same last night/this morning. Decided eventually it was too stressful worrying so went in today for a check up. Everything ok so felt like a bit of a worrier but midwives nice l. Have to go for another scan just to check up as its my second lot of reduced movements so wasn't a waste of time. *
Mrspmt* also very gassy and uncomfortable over here. Barely sleeping too.

MrsPMT23 · 28/07/2016 17:06

Owl DH and I have both got really thick dark hair so we're expecting a hairy baby! Heartburn has been horrific today, can't eat anything. Tried some pineapple to get things going and suffering now.

Alfie my LO has a pattern of being really active then being quiet for a couple of days, more squirms then massive kicks. Brought it up with my MW and she said its normal but keep counting the movements. If you're concerned and it's out of the norm I'd bring it up just to be sure.

Basket it must be nice to have an indication of what's going on. Weirdly looking forward to my first sweep next week so I can at least get an idea of what is happening down there! (Secretly hoping LO will arrive before then...!)

Had a little bit of whitish discharge today but not really mucusy - could it be my plug slowly coming away? No blood or anything.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 28/07/2016 17:16

Yes that's what it feels like mrs squirms. Although since I've posted I've had a few big kicks on my right, I wonder if she had shifted position. I hate being the only one responsible for checking movement! I'll see how she gets on this evening.
Exciting that some more of us are feeling things are moving along - I haven't had any symptoms of labour at all yet. Three of my NCT group babies have arrived now too.

BerylMeeps · 28/07/2016 19:51

lotsofdots still no labour!! I'm in so much pain and have been a bit useless for a couple of days now, keep sleeping loads, can't walk far, DH is supplying me with nighttime snacks and the pre baby diarrhoea has started 😕

I'm so knackered.

Daytona79 · 28/07/2016 20:08

I'm 39 weeks on Saturday

My movement has defo slowed too, although I'm still getting lots just not as much as I did before and I've been in once already for reduced

This happened with first baby but I wasn't sure if I was being paranoid or not, once u go in for third time they will induce you which happened to me last time

But it's hard to know if it's normal and just lack of space or if left is there a issue with baby and are you risking still born. So I'm kinda wondering what to do as well , go in andJess go down induction route or not worry and ride it out.

Also why did I think it was a good idea to spend 4 hours scrubbing my house top to bottom today 😂🙈

I'm literally crippled now with SPD. But at least my house is like a show home 😂. So I guess that's good.

CheeseandGherkins · 28/07/2016 20:15

Lack of space causing reduced movement is a huge myth. Look on the kicks count website if you want info. Please don't risk it, if you're concerned then call and go in. Induction is nothing compared to a stillbirth believe me.

MrsZumbaDancer · 28/07/2016 20:29

I think any change in pattern needs looking at, my lo has had no pattern from the very start, tends to have a busy day followed by a quiet one which always concerns me but midwife says that's just my pattern.

I'm sure my Ds was like this too.. Rang assessment unit day he was born to say I'd had a show and had tightenings but they wouldn't have seen me until I mentioned I thought movement had slowed. He was born a few hours after I went in! 😊

plimsolls · 28/07/2016 20:41

My baby is generally really quiet and any movements follow a very limited pattern, if any (I can usually rely on some movements at night, plus a response when I lie on my left side and drink coke but that's as reliable as we get). This baby thinks
nothing of having a very quiet day. My midwife, like mrszumba's says that's just how my baby is, although I really wish that it was more active (and that my placenta was not at the front) because I think being able to track a movement pattern would be reassuring and/or helpful in giving some definite "movement has reduced" info.

There's no harm in getting it checked. I can see why the thought of induction is off putting but at this stage, you're only getting your second "strike" so they won't induce you this time. And as cheese so powerfully says, any alternative to a stillbirth.

(Flowers to you cheese)

plimsolls · 28/07/2016 20:43

alfie I so know what you mean- I hate that I am the only person who knows how much the baby is moving. I find it impossible to make a confident judgement as to what is "enough movement". It's been the resounding issue for me throughout this pregnancy. I find the "trust your instinct" advice quite difficult as my instinct and my fear are very close friends!
