northern is there anything you'd like but wouldn't justify spending money on it yourself? A lovely (but silly money) blanket maybe? I've asked colleagues for a stretchy newborn sling.

Afreshstartplease · 16/08/2016 11:10

Positivity were both of those measurements by the same mw?

OP posts:
positivity123 · 16/08/2016 11:14

No they weren't. I usually go to the midwife first thing but yesterday was after lunch! Maybe that's it. I've only put on about 2lb in three weeks so unsure why it would vary too much but I'm not really taking it seriously. I can feel that it has grown!!

Afreshstartplease · 16/08/2016 11:20

It's a big difference though isn't it!

Will see this afternoon how mine compares to last time!

At what point do we start getting seen every two weeks I can't remember

ShakespeareanQuotations · 16/08/2016 11:40

My next appointment is 34 weeks, then it's fortnightly.

ChatterNatterer · 16/08/2016 12:07

northern maybe vouchers so you can get something while on maternity leave for bubs when you're not on full pay?

Northernlight22 · 16/08/2016 12:15

Fresh - ive got growth scans every 4 weeks now (next one Thursday for 32 weeks) as they told me it's more about the baby following the expected rate of growth as opposed to what the measurement says.

I did say vouchers but they want to buy something too - need to have a look at things that are nice to have that I wouldn't necessarily get myself!

ChatterNatterer · 16/08/2016 12:38

I have asked work for a snugglebundl for getting baby out of the car seat as our one won't leave the car :)

Afreshstartplease · 16/08/2016 12:57

How about a star wrap? Or a nap sack? Both from tuppence and crumble

Star wrap has great reviews, i bought one and it's lovely

Nap sack also looks lovely but struggling to find opinions on it!

I'll second the star wrap from Tuppence and Crumble - I had one with DS and used it pretty much every day in the winter - doesn't get lost like blankets, easier than snow/pram suits, can be used in the car seat and looks so cute! I'm definitely getting another one.

Figgygal · 16/08/2016 13:30

33 weeks today back from a weekend in Devon with DS (4), DH and my mum walked endlessly averaged out 12,000 steps a day, had 3 days at the beach DS loved the sea every day, ate too much got to stage where was just sick of eating!!

Am feeling like my bump is really low today looking forward to seeing midwife next week at 34 weeks interested to see whether she thinks he is in the right position or not. DS was 91st centile when born but was 2 weeks late she has suggested this one might be same or bigger I do not want that!!

Afreshstartplease · 16/08/2016 13:32

Figgy my DC who was born on 91st was nearly two weeks EARLY!

My DC who was born on 95th was 3 days EARLY!

Imagine if I went two weeks over I would have an actual elephant

OP posts:
Figgygal · 16/08/2016 13:38

just been on the tuppence and crumble website I have never heard of them before OH MY GOD how cute are the star wraps!!! I have just bought one ......he is going to look like Maggie Simpson :-)

Fresh those are some BIG babies!! I am impressed

MeDownSouth · 16/08/2016 13:46

MW appt yesterday. Blood pressure is fine, she thinks as I'm still working it might be that I'm getting overtired. Seems to have settled down in the last few days but still having it. She proper kneaded my bump to find baby for heartbeat check - it was not impressed and I got kicked, thumped and walloped for about an hour afterwards (assume it was napping!).
Baby will be in with us but once it arrives I'm guessing decorating and unpacking will stop completely so I think it might end up there longer than we think/plan. Our friend is going to come and give us a hand getting things into the loft this weekend so hopefully we can find the boxes I'm ready to unpack! Newmum I know exactly what you mean about the house - it's fab isn't it!
Fresh blow a raspberry at him and tell him to sod off if you both agreed in the first place.
Northern maybe Mothercare vouchers for your present? Then you can pick bits up when you need them rather than getting something you already have/might not use?
Well done Figgy! I'm tired reading about that exercise :)
That list of all our dates makes it look even more exciting, not long to go!
For those who get Gaviscon on prescription, did you just ask the doctor for it or do you have to be properly prescribed it? I'm constantly taking it (sure baby will come out addicted!) so it starting to add up. I'm finding the liquid works better for me but the tablets are handy in my bag for when I need them at work/out.

HobnobDunker · 16/08/2016 16:46

MeDownSouth it might depend on your surgery- I just called them up, told them I'm pregnant and asked if I could have a prescription for something for heartburn without coming in. They arranged for a GP to call me back who asked me a few questions and then sorted out a repeat prescription (you'll need it on repeat). Gaviscon tablets weren't offered- just the liquid which I agree is loads better.

thistlescot · 16/08/2016 19:17

Would someone be able to direct to the facebook group please? xx

thistlescot · 16/08/2016 19:19

Also could someone explain what the percentile thing means? No one has mentioned this to me yet, I'm going in on Tuesday for a growth scan and diabetes clinic so I'm interested to know what his growth has been like since I've changed my diet.

I've added myself onto the list xx

thistlescot · 16/08/2016 19:38

Is anyone else struggling with work? Since being diagnosed with gestational diabetes I'm finding it really hard to be there, I feel so alone with it all 😞

positivity123 · 16/08/2016 20:45

thislecot what are you finding hard? Are you feeling unwell or are you struggling emotionally?
How much do you work and when can you go on leave?

Afreshstartplease · 16/08/2016 20:51

I have well and truly passed the point of needing to finish work now

I literally go there and sit about Blush

Week and a half to go

OP posts:
thistlescot · 16/08/2016 21:50

Both, just generally feeling like I don't fit in anymore and like I don't even know who I am anymore! The spd means I can't really get about very well and I'm restricted a lot in what I can do. The diabetes I feel better about now I've got over the shock and got my head around what I can and can't eat.

I work full time Monday to Friday and will be finishing 2 weeks on Friday.

positivity123 · 16/08/2016 22:04

I know what you mean. I feel a bit alienated as I'm going through something that no one at work can relate to. Just take it a day at a time and think that every day at work means you get to spend a bit more time with the baby when it is born.

April241 · 16/08/2016 22:30

Holy shit, it's been roasting all day!!!! Went and sat in the garden at mums for a few hours then visited my friend who had her baby 3 weeks ago. Feet and hands are GIGANTIC (mines not the new babies). Too hot!

This heartburn is really really getting me down, literally just drinking out the gaviscon bottle, can you overdose on that?!

30 week scan tomorrow, although I'm 29+5, so am going to ask about section dates, time is cracking on.

Is anyone else getting horrendous headaches???
