Chicco cot doesn't look like it's in Prime sale as I've searched upcoming and it's not there Sad

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/07/2016 11:38

Thanks london will give it a go later! If I can't walk tomorrow I'm blaming you though not my lack of fitness Grin

We have a Phil & Teds Dot and will be getting a second chair as well as reusing my slings. Used a Close Caboo for the first few months before using the Ergo which I liked as supported DS's head really well.

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/07/2016 11:40

Sorry liked the Close Caboo for supporting DS not the Ergo, didn't use that til he was about 5/6 months.

Sorry I'm shattered! DS woke at 4, he went back to sleep but I couldn't, woe!

SouthDownsSunshine · 12/07/2016 11:49

I loved a stretchy sling for the newborn stage. A close caboo is similar. Try a sling library so you can try before investing. I also hated slings that needed doing up behind the neck, so I had one that crossed over between my shoulder blades (ABC).

Our 20 week scan showed a hole in baby's heart, which also significantly increases the risk of downs. We've been referred for a more detailed, specialist, cardiac scan.

Thisisbonkers · 12/07/2016 12:22

Oh south Flowers I hope the specialists can provide some good news x

becciandbump · 12/07/2016 12:28

Hope u are having a be kind to yourself day and are trying to switch off sending lots of virtual hugs in your direction xxx

Londonmamabychance · 12/07/2016 12:36

South sending lots of support for you, so sorry to hear that, must be terribly upsetting. Fingers crossed specialists advice will help and make things look brighter.

Bigfam · 12/07/2016 13:37

I hope they see you soon south so you're not kept worrying and waiting Flowers

Dartmoor, with all of my children I've fallen pregnant in march and April only, no other time of the year Hmm I think a chastity belt is a wise investment for me to wear throughout those two months, either that or a pitchfork that I can poke dp away with Grin

TinySalmon · 12/07/2016 14:06

South I'm so sorry to hear this Flowers

I know two women who had babies born with holes in their hearts and grew up to be happy healthy children and adults. There is amazing surgery and medical technology these days that can help with problems like this.

Keeping you in my thoughts Flowers

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/07/2016 14:59

Hope the next scan gives you some more answers south thinking of you all Flowers

billabye · 12/07/2016 15:07

Just bought the Fisher Price infant to toddler rocker for £28 on Amazon. Very pleased as its the one I wanted at at around half price Grin

SouthDownsSunshine · 12/07/2016 16:03

Thanks all. I took the day off work (most of it anyway) and I've spent a lovely afternoon with dd. She was a wonderful distraction.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 12/07/2016 16:30

Sorry to hear that south and hope you manage to get the answers to any questions.

This may have been asked before but where are you buying your bras from? I can't seem to find any that are not stupid prices.

billabye · 12/07/2016 16:33

south I'm glad you've had a nice afternoon with your daughter Flowers

bumbleclat · 12/07/2016 16:58

south my sister was born with a hole in her heart and she is now a very glamorous, beautiful professional dancer and is also the fittest and healthiest person I know- glowing!
The only thing she finds is that if she drinks too much coffee, she has palpitations but she is no different to others in this way.

zazie7 · 12/07/2016 19:00

Thinking of you and hoping for the best possible outcome, south. How long is the wait for the specialist scan?

barkingtreefrog · 12/07/2016 23:38

In the Lake District and only just got WiFi today as I've been camping for the last three nights.

South so sorry you've had worrying news. My sister was born with a hole in her heart, she had an operation when she was little and hasn't had any issues since.

To join the holiday talk, we're off to Slovenia in August, that's my summer holiday this year. We were going to go abroad for October half term as well but I'll be 34 weeks if all goes well still feel the need to say that and I know two women who gave birth at 34 weeks in the last year! So looking at a cottage in Cornwall instead!!

Still feeling exhausted and needing to nap during the day (18+4). I've started to feel uncomfortable in bed as well in the last few days, I can feel the weight of my bump and I get aches and pains if I move. I've started hugging a pillow to my bump, but am starting to see the point of the pregnancy support pillows. Has anyone got one?

TinySalmon · 13/07/2016 07:34

barking I have a dream genii which I've started using this week. I love it!

I've caught DP using it when he was having a nap at the weekend Grin It's quite comfortable.

To join holiday chat: we've already been abroad three times this year but are planning to go to France in August, Australia in September, and Mexico in October (for a 30th birthday party but I'm so paranoid about Zika and haven't RSVPd yet). Then hopefully one or two cottage/spa breaks in the UK before baby comes in December!

We are planning to go away in March but I don't know how I'll feel with a 3.5 month old baby. Anyone done this before? And what was the experience like?

goinggrey1978 · 13/07/2016 07:48

I was planning to be away March or April time to visit friends up the south coast 2-3hours drive away and then the states to visit friends at the end of June, to make the most of my maternity leave and take holidays in term times when it's cheaper!!

Thisisbonkers · 13/07/2016 09:41

Scan today. Irrational fear that the baby has disappeared and I just have a food belly.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 13/07/2016 09:53

Good luck today thisisbonkers.

Bigfam · 13/07/2016 10:42

Good luck bonkers. Enjoy seeing your gorgeous baby Smile

ElodieS · 13/07/2016 11:57

Hello all! Been away for ages; frantic with work, DTs, illness etc etc, but starting to get back to normal now. I'll go back and read as much as I can today but know I'll have missed loads.

Hope you're all doing well and sorry to hear that worrying news South, I hope you get some reassuring information quickly.

I'm 17 weeks on Friday, and more and more people are noticing now. I'm finding work clothes particularly tricky to find, does anyone have any tips? I work in quite a smart office most of the time with a lot of blokes and need to be particularly presentable for work out of the office a couple of days most weeks. Last time around Seraphine was my saviour for work stuff but it all seems to be really clingy super-stretch stuff now which I'm not sure works until I have a bigger bump...

HannahJH · 13/07/2016 12:34

Barkingtreefrog, I went to Slovenia for part of my honeymoon last year, Lake Bled to be precise. It was lovely, hope you like it!

Good luck today this is bonkers, I am pretty sure you would have noticed had the baby disappeared ;) however I am completely with you on the worrying irrationally that its stopped growing/poorly etc! 12 days until mine and very much counting!!

I have been wearing black trousers and loose tops for work and no one has been able to tell. Worn a tight dress today and everyone was like WOW you are actually pregnant hehe!!

xx

Bigfam · 13/07/2016 13:54

ElodieS how is your poorly twin doing now? She was in hospital for a bit wasn't she? Hope she's OK.

A really easy way I've found to hide my bump is wearing loose tops that can be tied at the front (right over/on top of bump)
