another night of waking up at 3.30am, argh! Seems to happen every two or three days. The only plus side is it gives me time to catch up with reading the thread! Don't get much time to read or post during the day.

Nice to hear everyone's doing well and excited about scans/movement etc. I'm definitely feeling a bit more human now (17 weeks) although still getting frequent headaches.

Hope all of you are past the sickness stage too now.

excitedmummytob · 10/07/2016 09:42

Morning! Anyone else frustrated with no movements being felt? I'm 19 weeks today with first baby...so desperate now!

becciandbump · 10/07/2016 12:12

Random last night, couldn't get comfy wAs lying on Side felt bloated and that my bump was pushing up on my chest then sudden urge to vomit. Vomited in bathroom 3 times. Thought it odd as at 17+3 this is the first time I have been sick

zazie7 · 10/07/2016 15:57

Hi, I'm a little late to the thread as am 19+1 but hope it's ok if I join. It's nice to find people at a similar stage to talk to. I'm due December 3rd, we have our anatomy scan on Friday and it's our first baby. I've struggled quite a bit with sickness but it is finally improving which has had a massive impact on how I am feeling.

excitedmummytob, I haven't felt movement yet either. Is it your first baby? I have heard it is quite normal to not feel movement until 20-22 weeks with your first and it also depends on the position of your placenta as well. I've had the odd occasion where I've wondered if I've felt movement but think it's just wishful thinking!

Thanks for the tips on the sales, goinggrey! If all is OK at scan we're planning to go shopping that weekend which should tie in nicely with the start of the Next sale. I have picked up a few things in the Seraphine sale last week, my normal clothes still fit but there is no way I would be paying full price so it seemed like a good time to grab a bargain.

Minispringroll · 10/07/2016 16:08

18 weeks today and I seem to have started to feel little...well,...bit like mini farts in my tummy since Thursday. Confused It's either the baby or I'm really gassy. Grin Feels too low to be gas, though.
Two weeks until the summer holidays and our 20 week scan. Have finally managed to book our week away (we were meant to go all inclusive somewhere warm,...but DH is worried about mosquitos, so we'll be staying in the UK...).

Bigfam · 10/07/2016 16:31

Our next thread will definitely have to be along the lines of
'Leaving fart bubbles behind for definite movement......'

Azure83 · 10/07/2016 16:54

Lol bigfam don't know who used the it first but fart bubbles is all I've been using to describe it! They happen more often now and it's strongest if I lie down flat and stretched out.

I'm getting a little bit fed up with people telling me all their war stories of poop, vomit, no sleep and horrible labour. It's a little late to change my mind!

duxb · 10/07/2016 17:33

Hi all. I'm not feeling anything yet - (20 + 1) but I do have an anterior placenta. I am hoping I feel something soon though.

Had really intense stretching/growing pains these last few days.

BristolLFR · 10/07/2016 18:35

Who's got a babymoon / holiday booked then?

Must have been loads of hols already booked over summer with the expectation that "it might not happen yet".

We're going to Italy in sept when I'll be 29 weeks- a friends wedding in Tuscany and then a few days each in Rome and Florence. That's about the latest I would have liked to fly, so a little bit relieved that it didn't happen a month earlier!

I ask as I'm currently on a girls holiday, at a festival, in Croatia! We have an apartment and aircon, and the crowd is very much people in their 30s rather than the younguns, but it's still a very interesting experience sober, and absolutely bloody boiling! I've developed a bit of a reputation and for the past couple of nights people have been hugging me and saying "oh, you're the pregnant one!". It's lovely to spend a week in the sunshine with my bestest friends though, this won't be happening again for quite a while once the little one arrives!

bumbleclat · 10/07/2016 18:55

I'm going away to Manorca with family should be lovely but I'll be 21 weeks and it will be boiling hot, planning to go out early, sleep in middle of day then go out again in the evening.
I did my first day of house/garden work fannying around today in 3 months it felt good to finally have a weekend where I'm not in bed all day feeling sick.
I hope everyone else's nausea has calmed down

Minispringroll · 10/07/2016 18:59

We were meant to go canoeing in Scotland this summer, initially. Now that's possibly not the most sensible thing when 24 weeks pregnant, so idea was to have a lazy holiday somewhere warm. DH has now persuaded me to agree to a self-catered cottage in Cornwall. Hmm I did say that I expect to get my lazy all-inclusive holiday while I'm on mat leave and baby is small enough not to crawl off and fall into the pool. (Considering the acrobatics it's already apparently getting up to inside me, I'm expecting this to have to be quite early on. Confused Grin) We are restricted to school holidays, since DH is a teacher as well. I'm hoping that going on holiday with a small baby will be a little easier than going with a toddler...Hmm

Nobody's told me anything about poo or vomit or whatever, but then we don't really have any friends with small children. Most people have just been quite happy and supportive.

I'm trying to cut down on how much I'm eating at the moment. Feel like I've gained loads of weight and I'm not even that far along. Blush The fact that the only thing that helped with the nausea at the beginning was to eat stuff was probably not the most helpful thing...

Grapefruit8 · 10/07/2016 19:03

Minispringroll I am also planning on a lazy all inclusive holiday when baby is here! Hoping around May when baby will be 5 months so we won't have started weaning etc. Partner thinks I'm nuts and says it will never happen, am I not being realistic?

puppythedog · 10/07/2016 19:03

Hi all. Been a bit absent due to work/education pressure.
Love the tip about remote. Mrsthedog had an anterior placenta last time so I'm not sure I even once felt DD kick. I found it really tough with the repeated tries and not succeeding.
We're off camping for a couple of days in a couple of weeks. That will be our holiday.
Hope the nausea is done for you all.

Minispringroll · 10/07/2016 19:14

Grapefruit Easter holidays was my plan, too. DH also thinks I'm insane...but then, he doesn't like going anywhere with people. Grin I was hoping that so early on would be a bit easier.
I was also hoping to take it abroad to see my family (they are coming over here for Christmas) in February. Not sure whether that might be a little early for its first plane ride...Hmm

puppy I was told initially that I have an anterior placenta, so wasn't expecting to feel anything. Seems to have moved, though. (Unless there's really something going wrong inside...)

Theaks · 10/07/2016 19:29

We are supposed to be camping for 3 nights in 4 weeks time. Hubby is doing this mountain biking thing with his friends. I will be 23 weeks. Not sure if I like this idea anymore. I can't sleep in the bed at the mo so won't manage a air bed. Sad

StubbleTurnips · 10/07/2016 19:54

We've got 3 glamping trips booked, will probably cancel the one in October as it'll be too cold for me then.

Would not fancy an abroad trip with young baby, friends have done it who are far braver than me coward And you need as much stuff if you go for 1 night as if you go for 21, and it depends on the nature of the child you're given.

Thisisbonkers · 10/07/2016 20:04

We've already been on ours; two weeks road trip in the USA. Much fun when I was puking! I'm hoping for a week away next year but DP isn't convinced. He works in the travel industry so I guess we can see how we are going and book something last minute with his concession.

MrsJoJo · 10/07/2016 20:06

MiniSpringRoll - you will be fine flying in Feb. I flew from Bangkok (where DS was born) back to the UK for Christmas when he was just 7 weeks old. I had a c-section so had to wait until after my 6 week check before flying long haul because of the risk of dvt... When he was just 4 weeks old my ex & I flew to Phuket for the weekend (a 45 min flight) so we knew how to handle a flight with with a baby. Funniest thing - we were asked if we wanted to take DS on the plane at check in and replied (totally tongue in cheek), 'oh, we thought we'd leave him at Check In and pick him up on the way back' - the look we got was priceless Grin (ask me closer to the time for tips, I became a pro at flying long haul solo with a baby!).

I'm going Ventnor on the Isle of Wight in August for a bucket & spade holiday with DP, DS (8), and the stepsons (8 & 5). We had an amazing time last year so hoping to repeat it!

BristolLFR · 10/07/2016 20:23

I've been told they're much easier to travel with when they're small than when they're toddling and need much more stimulation.

Turns out my DH gets really good shared parental leave, so we're planning a road trip with trailer tent around Europe when DC is 6-9 months old. We'll drive for a bit (limited by how long DC can be in the child seat) then pitch up at places for a week at a time and see the sights/ relax. Even if we don't actually end up seeing much, just having that time together as a new family will be lovely. DH wants to catch a few stages of the Tour de France on the way!

SouthDownsSunshine · 10/07/2016 20:27

We've had our main holiday already-a week in France. I normally spend a couple of weeks in France with my family in august but I'm giving it a miss this year. We'll squeeze in as many camping trips as work/weather permits, and centreparcs in October.

Holiday with a baby is easy, especially if you're breastfeeding as you don't have sterilisation worries. Flights with a baby are also fine. Both of the above with toddlers .... different ballgame all together 😂

Nuttypops · 10/07/2016 20:31

We have just spent the weekend in London which will be our last child free trip until after the next one arrives, my parents had toddler DD for the weekend. We also went away to Madrid earlier in the year without DD, but that was our first trip without her since she was born. Our other trips this year are as a family in the UK, going abroad with a toddler is an absolute faff I find! Much easier last year before DD was walking, but we didn't go very far because we were both really struggling with the lack of sleep, illnesses and had just moved house. Hoping things will feel more doable with number 2!

goinggrey1978 · 10/07/2016 20:38

Sea bands have been brilliant for my 24/7 nausea as all I could do before was to eat 24/7 to take the nausea away!!
I'm planning on trip to Norfolk and lowestoft to visit friends from March onwards and also have family an hour and 2 hours away, I'm planning a long haul trip to the states in June and July, as I work in a school so will be the only chance I get to show bubble the July the 4th celebrations and my friends will be over hours to see bubble as well, bubble is going to be a well travelled baby from young!!

user1468175616 · 10/07/2016 20:40
