Since we only have about 15 posts remaining I thought I'd make up the new one.

Lots of babies have arrived already but still plenty of us pregnant too. Here's to our June 2016 babies Smile

Forgot to say 'Baby Caitlin', 6lb 8oz

GrubbyWindows · 02/07/2016 22:52

Congratulations homeboddy!! Caitlin is lovely!! Yay! I hope you get home soon.

So... Anybody still pregnant?

bikingintherain · 03/07/2016 06:09

Congratulations homebody!

Good question Grubby. I reckon there must be a few.

How are people with newborns doing? I remember with DD1 thinking, 'I knew it would be hard, but not this hard!' The subsequent two have been as well but at least you have a. Bit more of an Ida of what to expect.

strawberrypenguin · 03/07/2016 08:11

Congratulations homeboddy she's lovely

wigelspigels · 03/07/2016 10:09

Congrats Homeboddy she is lovely Grin

Grapefruitforever · 03/07/2016 11:05

Congratulations *homeboddy Caitlin is gorgeous, hope you are home soon :)
I'm still pregnant - 40+6 today and nothing to report... :-/

jellybelly85 · 03/07/2016 12:20

Congrats homeboddy!

My baby is 3 and a half weeks and seems to be doing some serious cluster feeding. Yesterday felt non-stop, all day. i think it was frustrating DP more than me (surely he can't still be hungry) whereas I just see it as why baby needs. Still knackered. Managing tiredness is the hardest thing. How are other first time mums getting on?

dollydaydream84 · 03/07/2016 13:52

Congrats homeboddy gorgeous!!

Good luck Grapefruit you are doing well hanging in there.

I was expecting the worst biking as DD1 wouldn't feed, didn't sleep at night and I was so poorly after EMCS so basically the fact we get some sleep at night, DD2 feeds quite well and I don't feel as rubbish as I did last time, I feel like we are winning! Still forgot that feeling of relentlessness though, don't think that ever goes away with newborns!

laughingGnomette · 03/07/2016 17:22

homeboddy - congratulations!! What a beauty :)

HarleyQuinn90 · 04/07/2016 10:19

Hi everyone, I have posted before (maybe around 5 times) but have mainly lurkedSmile congratulations to everyone I've loved seeing pictures and reading birth stories!

I was due 18/06 with my 4th baby (6 year gap) and was took in to be induced on the 29th, they put the propess in at 6.30pm, my cervix was still very high up and as its usually a slow process they do your Obs every few hours and leave you to to it.

Around 8ish I started getting Tightenings which is normal for me at that time, and they slowly started getting painful and were really close together but I didn't think for a second anything was happening the midwives had told me that it would be the hormone making things feel more intense.

My partner had gone home at 10pm and I couldn't sleep due to contractions every 2-5 minutes, I was put on the monitor from 12 until 5 as my contractions were so close together but I wasn't dilating (probably would have if I wasn't stuck on the monitor!)so they wanted to keep an eye on baby. I was pretty much left and given co - codomol for pain relief.
At 6 the pain was getting unbearable so i asked the midwife for more pain relief so she ran me a bath and gave me an examination, my cervix was still really high up, after the bath I had a bit of my show, I knew the pains were labour by now but the midwives must have thought I was being a wimp because they were still fobbing me off even though they had seen on the monitor through the night how bad contractions were.
I broke down and started getting really distressed, I wanted my partner and I wanted more pain relief and sleep!
At around 8.15 after change over a nice midwife came and checked me again after seeing how distressed I was and I was 5cm, the propess and my show came out while she was examining me and they rushed me round to labour ward, and I finally got gas and air! after that it progressed so quick! My partner got there just on time at 9am and i started feeling the need to push shortly after, my baby girl was born on 30/06 at 9.32am weighing 9 lb 12 and is absolutely beautiful! She is my partners first baby and is the double of him!
I think I was in shock after as it happened so fast but it was definitely my easiest, no tears or grazes etc. my care on labour ward was fantastic the midwives were brilliant but I felt abit let down and ignored on the induction ward.
I apologise for the grammar and layout I'm still exhausted but I wanted to share my birth story, hope everyone is doing well Smile

Congratulations on all the new babies great news, I'm thinking I shall probably be last on the thread to give birth, wasn't favourable for a sweep today at 40+6 so looking very likely I'll be induced next week

jellybelly85 · 04/07/2016 12:03

Congrats Harley on your newborn! Hope she and you are both home and enjoying cuddles.

Eek LouLou how are you feeling about being induced next week?

LouLou030783 · 04/07/2016 12:15

Tbh I'd rather it was sooner I'm so done with being pregnant and so bored I've generally just had enough Shock

wigelspigels · 04/07/2016 13:51

Congrats Harley what a beaut Smile

Hopefully something will happen shortly Loulou.

For the last 3 weeks my wee one has picked up a pound each week.

We're flying to the states on Saturday. Eeek!

GrubbyWindows · 04/07/2016 17:33

I remember you harley! Huge congrats- she's gorgeous! I do love a birth story!

Ouf lou hopefully you'll get going super soon...

Eek wiegel long haul! How many weeks post partum will you be by then?? Tiny weeny babies are actually really great travellers, it's never easier!

wigelspigels · 04/07/2016 17:52

He'll be 7 weeks the day after we land Grubby - I think he'll be fine. He'll just hang of his boob Wink He loves his sleep too long may it last it's a good thing he was 2.5 weeks early.

jellybelly85 · 05/07/2016 19:51

Ergh, turns out I have 'retained products' in my uterus (likely placenta). It's been causing quite smelly postpartum discharge. Not news I wanted to hear... Will have to see what GP wants to do tomorrow Confused

LouLou030783 · 05/07/2016 20:14

Oh jelly that's not so good how the hell does that even happen

NopeSorry · 05/07/2016 20:37

I'm gutted that I never knew about these threads! Sad

Thought I'd chip in still, I hope that's okay.

My gorgeous son was born 28th June, at 12:32 pm.

Still nameless, but getting there!

iamdivergent · 06/07/2016 03:40

nope hello and welcome - our boys share the same birthday Cake

jelly oh no, hope you get it all sorted asap

loulou hope you little monkey makes an appearance asap, it's horrible being overdue, especially if you never have been before!

Been up for about 3hrs in agony, boobs have engorged again and baby couldn't get latched to either, he was crying and my boobs were letting down when already full to bursting - nightmare! Managed to express and taken ibuprofen, cuddling a bag of frozen peas and I'm heading off to bed again soon. Had to feed ds some ebm which he took happily in the free nuby natural bottle from boots! I was very lucky to manage to feed both my girls no issues apart from 1 bout of mastitis so this is a new one for me - it's so difficult.

OP posts:
bikingintherain · 06/07/2016 08:59

Congratulations nope, you are very welcome.

Sorry you're engorged iam, it's horrible. But ibuprofen and ice is definitely a good at to go. Also when you're feeding try and massage the breast to get any harder areas moving. It should only be 24-48 hours.

Oh and do the ice thing after every feed, even if they're feeling a bit better, it really is good for it. (I used blueberries as I had no peas, so pleased I didn't pop the bag at all!)

MindfulBear · 06/07/2016 11:13

Oh iam that's horrid. I had mastitis last time as DS had a TT that wasn't resolved for ages. He just could not get the milk out. Was horrendous. Ice ibuprofen and hot bath : shower with massage really helped. I also nursed in the hot bath with DH doing the massage!!! Really helped and the team effort made me better too

Welcome nope. Lovely little baby!!!

iamdivergent · 06/07/2016 14:30

The mw came out after I called in tears this morning. Latch is fine once he gets on (he can be quite fussy) and she showed me a couple new positions. He fed well when she was here but obviously now he is fussing again Sad boobs are sore and DH is out so will be sending him for cabbage as soon as he is back and to see if he can find the lansinoh hot and cold packs in tesco. Massaging lump in armpit as much as I can but can do it when feeding because of where it is Hmm

Hope everyone else is getting on well.

OP posts:
iamdivergent · 06/07/2016 14:30

can't do it when feeding

OP posts:
wigelspigels · 06/07/2016 14:43

Congrats and welcome Nope.

Oh no Iam that's sounds awful. I had a horrible blocked duck in the first 2 weeks and by f**k it was painful and the only way was to let him feed as much as he wanted. It felt like shards of glass Sad
With DS1 I was in hospital for 5 nights unplanned when he was a year old and my boobs were as hard as rocks and I had to manually massage/pump them, not fun at all. He was interested in the hospital and didn't want to feed on visits Hmm
Hopefully you'll feel better soon
