Since we only have about 15 posts remaining I thought I'd make up the new one.

Lots of babies have arrived already but still plenty of us pregnant too. Here's to our June 2016 babies Smile

Lovely news divergent! Congratulations!

dollydaydream84 · 28/06/2016 21:51

Congrats divergent! Fantastic weight! Well done you xxx

PissPotPourri · 29/06/2016 02:27

Congratulations Divergent! Wow, he's a whopper and looks gorgeous. Glad you are pleased with the birth. Enjoy the snuggles

Homeboddy49 · 29/06/2016 06:18

Still hereSmile. I have now been booked in for induction tomorrow. I am scared and excited at the same time. I have been googling positive induction stories and getting myself ready.

I had a sweep Monday morning and one yesterday as well to try and start things naturally so I still have 24 hours for the magic to start. Apparently I went from zero to 1cm between Monday and yesterday so you never know.

divergent how are you doing? Any news from your sweep?

Really sorry to hear you aren't doing well magic. Sounds like you are really having an awful time physically. Please try and cut yourself some slack and let yourself be looked after. Don't forget your husband loves you and wants to care for you.

Really really quiet on the thread at the moment!

Homeboddy49 · 29/06/2016 06:25

Sorry! Only just saw your post divergent. What a gorgeous boy. Congratulations.

Osirus · 29/06/2016 07:21

Hi everyone. Congratulations to all those whose babies have arrived and good luck to those waiting.

My little one was due on 16th but didn't make an appearance until Saturday 25th June by EMCS. My waters broke on Thursday but due to meconium in the water I had to be induced Friday. The labour didn't really progress and I became septic and baby's heart rate was really high. They therefore had to "go in" Saturday morning.

We are still in hospital as baby is still on antibiotics.

We didn't know what we were having and we had a gorgeous little girl. She's amazing and I cannot believe how much I love her. My DP has been incredible - he's done so much with from changing her, cuddling her on his lap and going with her when she goes for her tests. I feel like all I've done is feed her, as he can't do that! Breastfeeding is going really well, just a bit sore now but has peaked I think!

No name yet!

jellybelly85 · 29/06/2016 09:06

Yay Osirus! Glad to hear all went well in the end. It's lovely seeing DPs pitching in, isn't it? Mine never heSitates to volunteer for nappy Changes. Hope your recovery goes well and you're enjoying newborn snuggles Smile

strawberrypenguin · 29/06/2016 11:29

Congratulations osiris and divergent
Good luck for tomorrow homebody my induction with Bertie was really straight forward.
Went in on a Tuesday morning, was examined and found to be 1cm dialated. Put on trace for half an hour so they could get a starting reading. All fine so taken off of monitor and given first gel. Back on trace for half and hour and then taken off again and allowed to leave the ward. We went for a walk and got lunch in a nearby cafe while I was gently contracting one every ten mins or so. Back to ward a few hours later when contractions started to get a bit closer and more painful. Examined at 4pm and found to be 3cm given sweep. Back on trace for a bit to check on baby - all fine. By 7 I was contracting every couple of minutes, asked to be checked at 8ish as getting painful and I wanted gas and air. Found to be 8cm couldn't have pain relief as labour ward full and no midwife available to stay with me so they had to call one in. Midwife arrived half hour later with gas and air. Put back on monitor but could move about if I wanted to. By 11 I wanted more pain relief and was moved to labour ward where a space had come up and had pethidine. Contractions were one on top of the other so intense but I hadn't need the drip. Bertie was born at 1.31am with no intervention other than an episiotomy and that was because he had both hands up by his head. He's just over a month now and I'm completely healed. So induction doesn't have to be long especially if your body is a bit ready anyway.

MagicDucky · 29/06/2016 16:11

Congratulations guys!

Thank you so much for the support and kind words, feeling a lot better today. Had a big wobbler last night and poor OH really got it.

I am in awe of him though. He dealt with me so well and I feel so much better, he basically said what all of you have said. Talking to him made me feel so much happier. I'm a very lucky person to have him.

It seems the hormones are settling down!

I've got another question though, how is your swelling? My legs, feet and now toes are huge! It's actually quite uncomfortable I thought by day six it would have died down!

laughingGnomette · 29/06/2016 17:32

Ducky - mine took about ten days after my csection for the swelling to go down. Still not 100% there yet but pretty much back to normal now. Being a bit more mobile/active seemed to help but that may have been coincidental!

wigelspigels · 29/06/2016 19:55

Congrats Iam and Osirus.

What a good weight Iam, very pleased you got your Homebirth.

Thinking of you Magic my swelling took 2 weeks to go down. My feet and ankles were porkers.

Can't believe my milk monster is 5.5 weeks. Growing up far to quick.

bikingintherain · 30/06/2016 00:33

Congratulations iam and osaris, I hope you have quick recoveries.

DD just did 5 hours between feeds this evening, so I just had 3 1/2 hours sleep. I almost feel a little bit human. Long may it last! (Although I'm not counting any chickens yet!)

MindfulBear · 30/06/2016 15:05

Congrats everyone with new babies!!

My 2wo seems to be on a feeding frenzy .... Was hoping to get to the dry cleaners and the allotment today between rain storms but it's just not happening.

Ah biking those long sleeps are amazing aren't they? Beautiful - especially as you know each one could be their last for months!!!! (After the early week sDS didn't sleep for more than 2 or 3 hours in a row until he was nearly 2yo!! Confused)
LO has also been putting in the odd 5 hour sleep - albeit with hours of cluster feeding before and after!

wigelspigels · 30/06/2016 20:45

Aah Mind getting lots done in the allotment can be tricky. I just ordered a wrap for the allotment to carry the wee one as he loves lots of cuddles and the carrier we have is far too expensive to get dirty even though he loves it.

lovelilies · 30/06/2016 21:00

Those of you with a toddler and newborn... How do you manage?! dS is 2.5.
Bed time is the hardest. I bed share with DS and now the baby too but DS is being f a royal PITA. Won't let his dad put him to bed, wails and cries for mummy.
But newborn DD wants feeding all the time so DP can't take her while I put DS to sleep.. And if I have baby with me, DS gaffs about stroking her, kissing her, general messing about and won't bloody sleep.
I generally do the whole 'gentle/ attachment ' parenting thing, but am tempted to shove him in his own bed and leave him to CIO (I won't- I just feel like it!)
Any tips? Before I lose my shit with him. Oh, and all this adds to the mum guilt so I'm feeling pretty crap right now. Sad

GrubbyWindows · 30/06/2016 21:21

ugh lilies nightmare! I'm lucky in that DS switched bedtime allegiance from me to DP whilst I was pregnant. Partly this was because I will only sit in silence on the little sofa in his room reading a magazine, but DP will sit next to his bed on the floor and chat about this and that. I only stopped breastfeeding DS (3) at bedtime in the second trimester when my milk dried up, so I really dodged a bullet with him deciding bed=dad, I though that would be really hard. Can you make yourself a less attractive option somehow? Sit on a chair near the bed "because your back is sore", but dad could cuddle in bed???
Yay divergent and osirus!! Great news!! I had been wondering if you were in labour divergent, tee hee!
I'm another who had a super easy induction (last time round). Took 4 hours, and I didn't even need any pain relief (i had been expecting to be demanding all the dugs!!). So easy inductions do exist! Good luck!

strawberrypenguin · 30/06/2016 22:48

Sounds tough lilies I've got a bit of a bigger gap between mine, DS1 is 4 so understands a bit more. I'm also not bf which makes things like bedtime easier. Couple of thoughts - do you think your DS might be ready to move to his own bed? Get DH to start a new special bed routine with him (maybe an extra story or something and a reward at the end of the week)
Or could you/would you express so DH can bottle feed while you settle DS?
Hope it gets easier for you

lovelilies · 30/06/2016 23:15

DS has his own room and bed, but has only slept in it a few times, always coming in here during the night anyway.. And he REALLY doesn't want daddy to put him to bed if I'm here (when I was at work he was fine). Did think about fibbing and saying I'd gone out but then he'd want to go with me and baby!

I also think it's time to drop/shorten his nap, if he hasn't had one he falls asleep very quickly.

I've had a couple of hours 'off' just now as they were both asleep and feel 100x better, a little break works wonders Wink

iamdivergent · 01/07/2016 12:06

Settling in well here, baby is feeding well and my milk has come in so I look like an extra from baywatch.

He is cluster feeding for about 4hrs at bedtime but when he finally goes off he is sleeping for a good 4hrs. He has been quite alert today, he is so sweet and the girls are besotted with him. We have been lucky on the visitor front in that only bil and smil have come to meet him so I'm enjoying the peace before others start to ask to come see him - think my sister is planning to come down tomorrow which will be nice as I haven't seen my niece in a month or so and she looks so big!

Congratulations on all the new babies x x
ducky my swelling took about 12 days to go down and one foot still swells a bit now x
Had a copy of the letter from the hopital to our doctors today and got quite upset reading it horrible seeing your son's condition described as poor and the mid wife told me he had to have oxygen for a few seconds turns our 4 and half minutes until they could get him to breath on his own wasn't expecting to see that .

dollydaydream84 · 01/07/2016 12:38

Aww clarish that's horrible. I was shocked to find DD1 heart rate kept dropping which is why I had EMCS that was never mentioned to me and was a shock as it could have turned out very differently which I guess is how you are feeling. Do you think a chat with the supervisor of midwives would help you talk it through? Big hugs x

cautiousoptimist1 · 01/07/2016 16:55

Congratulations to everyone on all the new arrivals. It's hard to keep up since LO arrived!

Clarish that's awful to read and must have been a shock. Have you been offered any review with the hospital? It's called birth afterthoughts here but not sure if it has the same name nationally.,

Our LO is settling in well, she's 3 weeks now and weighing 9lb 9oz so feeding must be going well! Grin There are still occasions of cluster feeding but it tends to be in the evenings rather than late nights. As a first timer one of the hard parts is not knowing how the next day/night will go.
I'm back to my pre- pregnancy weight and clothes but not quite the same shape. We've been trying to get out most days in the last week and I think it's made a difference, even just going to a neighbours for a chat and a drink.

clarish84 · 01/07/2016 19:37

Yeah I think I might need to speak to someone they have offered me one cautious think I might sort it out I'm still very confused about everything that happened and sort of don't know how I should feel x

Homeboddy49 · 02/07/2016 22:06

Born on Thursday evening. Ended up going into labour naturally Wednesday evening but still had intervention. Was a very long 24 hours but now she is here Im just so happy. Still in hospital as lost a bit of blood. Hopefully home tomorrow.
