Hello,

So couldn't see a January baby post (probably because no one is mad enough to POAS as early as me!)

Anyway, I thought I would start one (waves). I am 28, this will be DC#2 making my 4 year old DS a big brother which he has been so excited about becoming (we haven't told him yet though as very early days!) I am roughly around 4 weeks and we're not planning on telling anyone for ages so thought I would start a thread so I have someone to get excited with!

Please come and say hello! Xx

It is very unlikely but it must happen. I had a scan on the Thursday afternoon as a follow up from my MMC. My consultant confirmed I'd ovulated (I had a feeling it was imminent) and we DTD early on Saturday morning. We hadn't had any sex before ovulation so there was nothing already there. I didn't think it would have been possible & half expected it not to implant properly. Will just have to wait & see I guess.

Admarks · 07/05/2016 11:17

Morning all - sorry I've been quiet the past few days. It's been manic at work and I've just crashed when I get home. Cramping seems to have stopped, and now I'm just extremely tired and hungry (all the time!). I'm a little worried about lack of other symptoms (I'm only 5+6, so still early) and desperately waiting for CBD to arrive so I can see my hormone levels. Im on the fence about early scans, think it would help me worry less as 12 weeks is a long time away! My DH is being great- very understanding and patient (and I'm milking it a bit)

GerberaDaisy · 07/05/2016 16:30

You're definitely not the only one - I'm an absolute dragon at the moment lol!! Xx

Wish my DH was like that Admarks. I am getting nausea and tiredness and cramping still. But I remember with DS the "real hell" kicked in once I passed 6 weeks and I just vomited all day long lol! Xx

Decided to tell my folks today... God what must I be thinking?! Will let you know. Sorry about the three separate posts, my thought processes are all over the shop xx

Hi, I've been hovering on this thread for a week or so but I'm going to join in the discussion if that's ok with you as my EDD is December 25th but I have a feeling that my 12 week scan will date things a little later. This is my first pregnancy, live in Wales with DH and have no close friends with babies so its all new to me!

The december thread crew are all close to their booking in appointments and 12 week scans and it feels like ages to wait until that stage as I'm 6+6 so this thread feels a little closer to how I'm feeling right now.

Nausea only started this week and it seems to be at its worst mid morning and mid afternoon and eating seems to help (I will be a balloon by week 12!)

I don't seem to have a major mood change yet, I'm still my usual self - DH very lucky that I rarely become moody but tiredness is making me less chatty (which he seems to worry about rather than enjoy the silence!)

Emz try not to worry too much that your maths isn't adding up, I didn't have 1 ovulation test say that I was ovulating during the 3 months I was off the pill and TTC and had 2 negative pregnancy tests at week 4 so I was starting to think I was hitting early menopause, yet here I am with a BFP and in week 6! Things happen we can't explain so fingers crossed you will have great news at your next scan!

Waw, sorry for my essay! Blush

Emz32 · 07/05/2016 18:25

Welcome Bella. If this bean is ok then my EDD is 28th so close to you. I felt this thread was also closer to how I felt. I'm also eating a lot. Iv already got a stomach poking out & the evening it's really noticeable. Obviously bloating this early but expecting to show more quickly as it will be my 2nd. Is this first baby for most people?

Thank you so much for all the support. I'm feeling much more positive but just hoping I'm not setting myself up for a fall!! I guess I was most upset as it felt like hearing the news of the MMC all over again. It's almost 5 months ago but I immediately felt like I was back in that room being told there was no baby even though I d felt so rough & had bad sickness. So hoping we all get good news.

ktt512 · 07/05/2016 20:19

Hi everyone, can I join in? I'm around 5 weeks with my first DC, apparently due January 11th/12th ish. I have absolutely no idea what i'm doing so this thread is probably going to be a life saver!

I'm a bit worried though because I feel like I have no real symptoms. Before I got my BFP I had a horrible metallicky taste in my mouth, but this week that seems to have subsided. I've got a bit of cramping and my stomach feels tight and a bit twingy, the pain is almost scratchy? Anyone else having this? But my boobs are still the same size, I don't feel sick, nothing really seems to be happening! Although, I am pretty much the grumpiest woman on earth right now, my OH is driving me up the wall and I can't decide if I want to cry, scream or hurl abuse at him most of the time...I do feel a bit tired, but then i'm always tired, I love to sleep, so I don't think that's changed much.

Congrats to everyone though and I hope everyone is doing ok!

MagpieCursedTea · 07/05/2016 21:30

Congratulations ktt! I also got some weird twinges to begin with and still have a feeling of tightness. Sounds normal! I think you also become more aware of what your body is doing when you're pregnant so may notice things that you wouldn't normally pick up on.

Congratulations to you too Bella my EDD is also Christmas Day but due to late ovulation is more likely to be around 7th January.

swancourt · 08/05/2016 21:57

Congratulations ktt!

I'm on the December thread too bella and it's a fun thread but my EDD is 31 Jan (according to me, at least), and so I also feel miles behind! I was on a June thread when my DD was due on 26th June (and born in July, in the end), and it was amazing hearing about all the 12- week and 20-week scans and then the babies being born, but it did make it all feel like a long, long wait as far as I remember! So v glad to have this thread too.

Five days until my scan - I can't wait. I'm 6+1 today, I think. Sore boobs, mild nausea on and off, constipation, and now my belly feels too hard to lie on. But I feel basically fine and when I'm chatting and busy I start panicking that there's nothing happening.

Bella1985 · 09/05/2016 08:44

Ktt512 and swancourt I was the same as you, the first five weeks were pretty strange, I only had the twinges in my uterus and sore breasts which I could forget about if I didn't accidently brush them so hardly felt pregnant. Week 6 (i'm now 7+1) has been much worse for me. Nausea has hit, lightly at first, but this weekend its become more or less constant. I'm ok when I actually eat, but the thought of eating and the smell of food is a big no-no. Tiredness and insomnia have kicked in too so I feel pretty rough. I'm not looking forward to another five weeks or so of this! If you don't have these symptoms, try to enjoy it and not worry, there are lots of women who've had very little or no symptoms and quite frankly, I envy them!
Also, not sure if I'll be able to keep this a secret in work feeling like this, may have to tell my office buddies. Hmm

Emz32 · 09/05/2016 09:54

Hope you feel better soon Bella. I'm 6+5 today and a week until my follow up scan. Had 1 CBD left & u got my 3+ this morning. Hadn't done 1 for over a week but reassured that the HCG is still increasing. Iv had a little bit of morning & evening nausea but this morning was its worst. I was nearly sick st the smell of hubbys hangover breakfast. 😷 Gross! I had HG with my DS and was on tablets from 10 weeks as I lost so much weight & couldn't move out of bed. Hoping I don't have it again. Still 1.5 weeks until first midwife appointment. Hoping my scan shows development & then I can go back to being excited.

Hubby came home very drunk last night (was at a premier league game, only goes every now & again) and woke me up. I was extremely grumpy & I think he wished he hadn't woken me! Ha ha ha

Emz32 · 09/05/2016 11:10

Does anyone else wake up feeling like they have been run over? I have no energy at all. Trying to keep a 2 yr old amused is hard. I feel so guilty. I also caught the sun yesterday even though I made sure I was in the shade. Oops

MagpieCursedTea · 09/05/2016 11:17

I'm a bit pink today too. I know what you mean about feeling exhausted. I'm struggling with my 2 year old as well, he's got so much energy and I haven't got any.

Emz32 · 09/05/2016 11:36

Glad it's not just me. When I was pregnant with my son I managed to get away with looking like I was working sat at a desk but I wasn't actually that efficient. Looking after a 2 year old.... There's no hiding!! Luckily he's amusing himself running about in the garden. I think the hormones make your skin more sensitive to the sun don't they? That's my excuse anyway. I also feel hungry but feel full & nauseas when I try and eat. My body does not know what it wants!!

ktt512 · 09/05/2016 13:17

I had to take a nap yesterday afternoon because I felt like I had run a marathon when in fact, I had only taken the dogs on a 20 minute walk!

I've got a drs appointment this afternoon, so excited for that! Although for the last hour or so i've been having quite uncomfortable cramps...i've checked for blood about 10 times, but I can't tell if its womb pain or if i've got wind? How bad can cramps be at 5 weeks? How do you know if you should be worried?

MagpieCursedTea · 09/05/2016 13:22

Ktt I'm having the same problems figuring out if it's my uterus cramping or if it's the pain from wind/bloating Blush

ktt512 · 09/05/2016 13:39

I'll ask the Dr later! He'll love that ahaha 'how can I tell the difference between a fart and a cramp?' It's making it hard to concentrate though, every twinge is making me stop and inwardly investigate. Which obviously isn't going well in terms of gas/cramp confusion!

Emz32 · 09/05/2016 13:44

I had a lot of cramps between 5-6 weeks hence the early scan. It was like period pain & I was convinced I was going to miscarry but I haven't had it since I hit 6 weeks... I assumed it was just muscles & the egg causing cramping. Could well have been wind 🙈 Oh dear. The lovely side affects of pregnancy.

swancourt · 09/05/2016 13:58

Ha ha with DD1 I went to A&E sobbing and convinced I was having an ectopic. It was trapped wind. Blush

I wake up every day feeling like I'm hungover now, and have to force my breakfast down. And then all day I'm starving hungry but full two bites into almost any meal - and then occasionally properly ravenous and actually able to eat loads.

Scan on Friday - come on time!

happylass · 09/05/2016 17:22

Ugh ladies yesterday I felt awful all day and slept for 2.5 hours in the afternoon and missed probably the only bit of summer we'll get this year. One of the drugs I'm on causes disturbed sleep and I've been waking at 5am for the last 2 weeks so I think it just all caught up with me. The last week or so I've been waking up starving but then feeling really nauseous and light headed for a few hours later in the morning. Saturday I did very nearly throw up at the smell of a candle I had burning. I also had really bad indigestion at the end of last week but, again, I suspect it may be all the drugs irritating my stomach.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one though!

Admarks · 09/05/2016 17:41

I'm also on the December thread, but relate more with this one as the 12 week scan seems soooo far away! My cramping has now subsided, which is kind of good, I'm just mega exhausted and have spent the weekend doing not very much (which hasn't helped with the tiredness at all!). Had a little bit of nausea yesterday and Saturday but seemed to be ok this morning. As its my first I've been worrying about lack of symptoms, but it appears that most of us are in the same boat.

Anyway, TMI alert, on Saturday I started having some brown stains on my knickers this continued on Sunday and today with some quite bad pains on my right side. I'd read somewhere that the discharge was probably OK (but best to see a Dr) but the bad pains were^^ not a good sign. Ended up going to EPU this morning (who were great) due to a lot of brown gunk overnight/this morning and a fear about a possible ectopic pregnancy.

Thankfully everything is ok, our little sticky has a strong heart beat and is dated at 5+5 (so I'm now a Jan EDD). Worrying times last night and this morning, but so very reassuring so see the ultra-sound - a special moment (although the run-up was a very stressful). I have to monitor the gunk and come back if it has not stopped in 2-3 weeks (which seems like a long way away!).

Anyway, I think what I'm trying so say is the EPU were great and really helped calm me when I wasn't sure if everything was OK (gunk, pain and lack of symptoms). I really hope none of you need to visit them, but if you think something isn't right don't hesitate to go!

Bella1985 · 09/05/2016 18:45

admarks glad everything is fine with you.

happylass · 09/05/2016 20:54

Admarks a huge relief to hear all is well and glad to hear you had such a positive experience of the EPU.

MagpieCursedTea · 09/05/2016 23:03

Admarks so glad everything is okay, it sounds like it was very stressful but how lovely to see the heartbeat.
