Another thread has made me worry I may be being silly planning a hospital birth for DC4

DC3 for 5 hours from first pain

I live 30 mins from hospital with no traffic

I don't want a home birth
Or a car birth

A lady on the Fb group has just told me that some people on here want to join fb. Please inbox me on here and I will sort it for you X

Pulledapart2015 · 16/04/2016 10:39

hi ladies,
may I join please. due #2 on 13th Oct, already have a DD who is 5. just had my dating scan this week and pleased that all looks well. have a lot of health issues so high risk pregnancy, consultant led and took us a whole year ttc so anxious all the time that something might go wrong. really horrible sickness and have gained lots of weight Sad hoping to reign the eating in now second trimester has started. just feeling tired all the time!

pod100 · 16/04/2016 11:29

Bought my first few little bits when I went shopping this morning - makes it feel even more real! Also not sure if I like buying plain bits when the boy and girl stuff is so cute. Do I find out?? Decisions decisions!

Afreshstartplease · 16/04/2016 11:35

Exciting pod!

I've bought two packs of neutral sleep suits and I will buy all plain white vests

But I do want to buy gendered stuff too ! Three weeks til my gender scan

Carlsberg84 · 16/04/2016 12:38

Think I'm defo going to book a gender scan soon, can't wait to start buying things!!!

BigPigLittlePig · 16/04/2016 13:06

We won't find out, didn't with dd either, so we have a reasonable amount of neutral early stuff. Am gutted I didn't act sooner though, as I saw the most gorgeous sleepsuit, neutral but colourful, in Sainsburys of all places, but it was pre-12 wk scan so I didn't buy it. Of course it's gone now.

Am feeling v lightheaded today, dh has taken dd out so am chilling with a hot chocolate and trying to encourage my blood pressure to rise!

Afreshstartplease · 16/04/2016 13:09

I have awful heartburn, a sore throat and am craving spicy food

Not a good combination

Havetobecrazytolivehere · 16/04/2016 13:50

Fresh you are not being silly wanting a hospital birth.
Have you spoken to your mw about it or written anything in your pg notes yet?

If you are expecting it to be even quicker this time I would just go in as soon as labour starts and hang around the hospital, refuse to go home.
I bet they get ladies with quick labours all the time but are more likely to be aware and helpful if it is on your notes. My shortest so far was 13 hours!

I have no idea what I am doing, seems far too early.
11 days until gender scan woo!

Afreshstartplease · 16/04/2016 14:00

I hadn't given it much thought until a thread on here yesterday.

First two were 12 hours, third five. I was thinking this one might be five or a bit less

But then on the other thread people are talking about having third or fourth babies in like 90 mins which made me worry!

Gigglebert · 16/04/2016 14:49

So, I stupidly consulted Google on placenta previa last night... I know its likely my placenta will move up out of the way but I'm now scared about the consequences if it doesn't... Read a thread on here where women were in hospital on bed rest for 5+ weeks! We couldn't cope with that as husband works too far away and I wanted to get to 38 weeks at work!

Wonder if spending a lot of time upside down may encourage my placenta to move ;)

BadlyWrittenPoem · 16/04/2016 16:13

Fresh, mine have been 12, 4 and about 24 hours (all spontaneous unassisted deliveries) so I don't think you can really predict how quick it will be. I would maybe discuss it with your MW. Could you for example call an ambulance if you knew traffic would prevent you getting there in time or would that be no quicker?

Figgygal · 16/04/2016 17:21

You do what's best for you fresh! I was induced with ds as went 12 days over I actually liked the reassurance of monitoring and I'm sure some people would be horrified at such a medicalised birth but it was good was us if you want a hospital birth go for it!!

Was out until almost midnight last night had a busy morning at cinema saw eddie the eagle then took ds out for a bit I'm now utterly hanging on the sofa wishing it was bedtime. The glamour

Afreshstartplease · 17/04/2016 07:21

I think I'll just aim to turn up at the hospital as soon as its starting, if need be they can send me away but I don't want to phone up and be told to wait at home when there isn't time!

Figgygal · 17/04/2016 13:43

What's everyone paying for their gender scans? I have 3 options £39 but they have no convenient dates, £59 but it's at the other end of town or £79 in city centre. We've agreed to do one so that can tell ds before we see his in the know cousin and she tells him.

Friend of mine had a baby girl this morning Smile

Afreshstartplease · 17/04/2016 13:47

I'm paying 50

Nearest and cheapest place with a slot when I'm 16+3

Perfect

Carlsberg84 · 17/04/2016 14:20

The one closest to me charges £45

Figgygal · 17/04/2016 14:22

I've booked the city centre one for when I'm 18+1 going to take ds with us and tell him then. Turned out they did a £39 option too for the health report we decided to stump up the extra. You get a 4d view too but they freak me out!!!

Northernlight22 · 17/04/2016 15:28

I got a really bad pain in my lower right side last night walking back from my friends. It's subsided to a dull ache now but it's stressing me out a bit. No bleeding and it's not noticible unless I move about too much - do you think it's just growing / stretching pains? 14+5 (ish) now

Afreshstartplease · 17/04/2016 16:01

Northern, I've had sharp pains from walking too fast or far in my last three pregnancies (not in this yet)

And I've had pains from coughing in this one but none have really had a lasting effect to the next day

Can you call your midwife or the hospital see what they think

MeDownSouth · 17/04/2016 16:05

Bit late but so sad to hear Paige's news :(
OH won't let me buy anything, he wouldn't even let me wander into the baby section when out buying clothes (for him) the other day! I think he thinks it's all far too early but it only seems like 5mins since we did the test and now at 14wks! We're undecided about finding out. He wants to, I don't. Can they tell him without me knowing? :)
Since I was last on I've had periods of feeling faint and light headed and had a really stressful dy at work on Friday and spent the afternoon/evening with what felt like period pain, might have freaked out a bit. Feeling better now but feel wiped out.

Koalatom1 · 17/04/2016 17:21

I had placenta preva in my last pregnancy and it didn't seem to be a big deal!? I didn't google though! I got a scan st 32 weeks and it had moved, just as they said it pretty much always does xx

Koalatom1 · 17/04/2016 17:24

Just messaged about being added to the Facebook group!

It's my sons 2 bday today! Due 16 October so there will be just shy by one day of 2.5years between them x

Koalatom1 · 17/04/2016 17:29

Reading some of your messages about post scan but pre movement - exactly how I feel and it's worrying.

Figgygal · 17/04/2016 18:28

I'm still not feeling anything have 16wk appointment on Tuesday gender scan at 18wks. For me it's still not feeling real not sure when it will but not bought anything yet. Luckily we do have cot, pushchair, monitors, mobile need a Moses and car seats and boobs that bloody work this time Smile
