Salad cream here!

Afreshstartplease · 15/04/2016 12:04

After not feeling any movements for about a week I just felt one!

Yay

BadlyWrittenPoem · 15/04/2016 12:24

Latest news on my scan. The person arranging it went on holiday without sorting it out but is hopefully back at work on Monday.

Figgygal · 15/04/2016 15:19

I have a night out with dh work tonight just local meal (and drinks for them) just looked through my wardrobe and nothing fits and what does I just look fat in. I have reminded myself just how many stretchy maxi dresses I have though Grin I need a proper bump!

Afreshstartplease · 15/04/2016 16:21

Meant to be going for a meal tomorrow, I'm going to struggle not to get stake Blush

Figgygal · 15/04/2016 18:48

We are going to a steakhouse tonight I'm having chicken. Didn't see point of it being crisped to within an inch of it's life

Koalatom1 · 15/04/2016 19:04

Hello! New here :) I'm 14 weeks on Sunday. My friend recommended I check out this page. Is there a Facebook page at all? X

Afreshstartplease · 15/04/2016 19:17

Welcome koala

fish88 · 15/04/2016 19:23

figgy I feel you! I've got a wedding to attend in 5 weeks. I've ordered some lovely maternity dresses but coming to the realisation that I probably won't have a nice bump by then. I'll just look fat in normal clothes.

pod100 · 15/04/2016 19:30

Yeah I go on holiday in 5 weeks and will need all new clothes for it. Getting worried about how late I can leave shopping to get stuff that will look reasonable!

missybct · 15/04/2016 19:37

Figgy and Afreshstart - I've had about 5 medium rare steaks before someone at work told me I shouldn't be Blush - my midwife said not to worry, as long as its cooked on outside, but hasn't stopped me worrying Blush - Doesn't help that I was served pink (very pink) lamb one night and didn't realise until halfway through as lighting was bad Envy - I did mention the toxo-test (can't remember spelling) but midwife poo-pooed it :-/

positivity123 · 15/04/2016 19:37

Please can you lot talk some sense into me. I had a scan at 12 weeks and all looked good but because I'm not showing yet and I can't feel anything move yet and my sickness has eased I don't feel pregnant. I'm keen not to over-medicalise pregnancy but I keep wanting to go for another scan to check. I'm sure everything is fine and this is linked to the miscarriage I had last year. Any advice? I want to tell work next week but I can't shake this feeling of worry

athousandsplendidsuns · 15/04/2016 19:46

positivity I think that's really normal. I keep checking my scan photo! Last time I can only remember the sick bit of pregnancy and the bit where I was being kicked in the ribs so I keep thinking if I can't feel it it can't be in there and wriggling! Fingers crossed you'll feel better when you get to hear the heartbeat soon at 16 week appointment.

Afreshstartplease · 15/04/2016 19:54

Positively honestly it's normal to worry and I'm sure having had a miscarriage previously must make you worry more

I'm on DC4 and only occasionally feeling what I think are movements, and I know I didn't feel DC3 til much much later

I have got a bump, but again it's DC4 and my stomach is fucked.

climbingcheesecake · 15/04/2016 19:56

sorry to hear your news paige Flowers

pod100 · 15/04/2016 19:57

Also welcome koala! I'd like to join the FB group too, now that I've had my scan. I can't remember who I need to ask though

Alwaysinahurrynow · 15/04/2016 20:05

positivity it's really hard not to worry, but sometime nothing obvious is good news (especially in the odd stage between first trimester symptoms and bump/movements). I'm on DC3 and had very limited symptoms each time (apart from wanting to eat pizza and burgers). For DC1, I didn't feel any movements until well past 20 weeks (anterior placenta) and my husband could not feel movement until about 34 weeks. i also just looked like I had put on a lot of weight until 5 months (I had due to aforementioned pizza and burgers)😗

evs34 · 15/04/2016 21:05

Positivity- you could get a Doppler. They are great for this time between scans and feeling movement. I have an angel sounds and it was quite reasonable ( 7 yrs ago at least! )

BigPigLittlePig · 15/04/2016 21:34

Am lethargic and bloated but cannot feel a bump yet, nor movements positivity - so you're not alone. I feel a fraud mentioning I'm pg to people as they instinctively cast an eye south and there really isn't much to see! Am trying to occupy myself so I don't overthink things, and time marches on, then before you know it, it'll be time for the mw or scan.

Welcome koala

Had no idea re: steak either, although must confess I've never had one and am unlikely to start now as it doesn't meet my current criteria of pure carb. Feel certain that spaghetti hoops on toast is not a nutritionally balanced meal for a nearly 30yr old but needs must. Shall wash it down with the faintly revolting pregnacare liquid I have found - haven't managed a multivit in weeks due to overactive gag reflex so this is quite a revelation.

clank2 · 15/04/2016 21:47

Hey, has anyone else had really rude responses. I have literally been told I am crazy about 10 times in the last 2 days. Also asked repeatedly if its planned, am I happy and even one walked away saying'oh well never mind'. Not being funny, but last time I checked, saying stuff like that was a bit rude!

Afreshstartplease · 15/04/2016 21:54

I haven't had any yet clank but have previously with dcs 1, 2 and 3 maybe people realise I don't give a fuck what they think by now

I've previously had

"There are options you know" (DC1)
"Why? You've already got one" (DC2)
"Is it so you can have a girl?" (DC2+3)
"Least your done now you have a girl" (DC3)

Just to name a few Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 15/04/2016 22:05

Not rude, but my boss' furst question was "was it planned?" I would have LOVED to see his (60yr old, childless) face had I replied "no, total fucking nightmare, condom split and was too pissed to notice/care" (nb. not the case at all Grin)

SimileMilly · 15/04/2016 23:23

A male colleague who I actively dislike asked me if it was planned. I replied with "nooo, I didn't think you could get pregnant if you did it in the shower! Total shocker right?" Prick.

^^ NB this one was planned and not conceived in the shower

BadlyWrittenPoem · 16/04/2016 04:04

Given random strangers suggest "trying for a boy" (I have all girls so far) I think it's socially acceptable for me to have another so I'm expecting the only annoying comments to be the "are you hoping for a boy" ones.

positivity123 · 16/04/2016 06:58

Thanks for reassurance all. That's why this thread is so good as I can't really talk about this stuff in RL as it sounds daft.
Welcome Koala. How are you feeling?
clank can you do a classic mumsnet response of 'do you mean to be so rude' when people say stuff like that?
bigpiglittlepig I think hoops on toast has all of your five a dayGrin just try and eat what you can if you feel so sick. Hope you feel better soon
