Figgy I'm 22 weeks and still haven't had much movement, and my placenta is posterior! I've seen him on scans, and doppler, so not too worried.

Tallblue · 26/05/2016 16:18

Blueberry, Enough and Kariana I'm the 18th too!

I'm another one with an anterior placenta and not feeling movement yet. Have a scan booked for next Monday which I'm a bit nervous about. I'm sure it will be fine but can't help worrying a little.

A lady I know from DC1 toddler group has just lost a baby boy at 18 weeks gestation, so hard to know what to say, I feel so sad for her. I'm trying not to focus on feeling huge, hot and having sore hips as it could be so, so much worse :-(

Blueskygirl30 · 26/05/2016 17:05

Enough yes, I'm on a course of pregnancy-friendly antibiotics now to treat it as that sort of infection can be bad news in pregnancy if it gets bad as it can spread to the kidneys and/or baby. I wasn't sure if it was just pregnancy related increased peeing or not so thought I'd better just get it checked, just in case.

Tallblue oh gosh, that's awful about the lady at your toddler group, poor lady.

Kariana · 26/05/2016 17:35

Fresh that sounds awful for you. I hope you get your physio soon.

Enough ditto with the energy thing, it all came back and now it's gone again. Not quite as bad as before as I can actually make it through an entire day now but ideally my body would like 10-11 hours of sleep a night right now!

Tallblue I'm glad to meet another 18th! That's awful about the lady you know, how horrible for her. I constantly worry about things like that. I'm sure your scan will be fine, mine isn't till next Wednesday due to the bank holiday but I can feel movement most days so I'm holding onto that for reassurance.

Tallblue · 26/05/2016 17:36

Bluesky that's good to know about the UTI, I've had similar symptoms, needing to pee a lot etc. Just put it down to usual pregnancy symptoms but I go through phases a few days at a time where it's really bad. Will get checked out on Monday at my hospital appointment.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 26/05/2016 18:09

Bluesky, good plan with the test strips. I once caught an asymptomatic UTI that way. I was actually monitoring for ketones due to having hyperemesis but it was good I caught the UTI. It was the weekend so I just phoned our OOH service and explained and I had antibiotics within a few hours.

IrisPurple1 · 26/05/2016 21:34

Fresh are you in Spain yet? How are you getting on? Taffeta are you feeling any better about going away? I stayed in El Chorro, where the Caminito del Rey walk is. I haven't heard of the place you're going- where is it near?

Well I've got SPD. Just came on over the last week, got worse and worse and now I can barely walk. The pain is just in my back on the left at the moment, with shooting pain every time I put any weight on my left leg. Been referred for Physio but wait list is weeks. I saw a private chiropractor today who specialises in pregnancy. There isn't really a lot she can do for me but she did say that in her experience ladies who get SPD early are those who do a lot of running around. That definitely describes me - what about you Fresh and Havetobecrazy? Are your symptoms getting any better? Hopefully the Spanish sun will help Fresh!

I kind of feel cheated out of my second trimester. I was planning on shopping for buggies etc, making lots of friends at NCT and decorating the nursery. Not sure how I'm going to manage now I can hardly walk or get up and down. I live in a 3 storey house LOL! I'm worried about work and worried about not being able to exercise. My 19 week NCT update went on about the importance of exercise and I nearly cried.

So, there's lots of scans coming up this week! Mine's next Wed. I too am hoping for reassurance as I've not felt movement. Keeping my fingers crossed for you all!

I'm due 17 Oct - lots of people on here due around then! Grin

pod100 · 26/05/2016 22:07

Hey everyone, haven't been on in a few days do just catching up. Great news about all the scans, but not so much about the pains you're having Iris and afreshstart 😕

Bluesky, can I ask if you had any other symptoms other than needing to pee? The last two days it's been ridiculous for me, literally going at least once an hour, but I don't have any pain/burning or darkness that would suggest it definitely was a UTI.

Sorry all - the above was me but I namechanged for something else and I forgot!! Reported so will make sense when MNHQ remove it!

Iris - still undecided, but if I don't go then I have told my DH that he and DS(4) should go (as it's only to a family villa with my DM and DF) and I'll have a week on my own here. I don't want to ruin anyone else's holiday, but I shall miss my DS horribly and worry that he'll be upset without me. But I don't know if I will just stress out the whole time I'm away. Such a tough decision.

Tacoyaki · 27/05/2016 16:32

Hello all - wondering if anyone can help as I'm having a bit of a paranoid moment. Has anybody been having any cramping recently? I've noticed it today around the front of my uterus. It comes and goes and doesn't last long but is quite sore. Also been feeling nauseous today (I was lucky and missed this in the first trimester, so a bit weirded out by it now). It doesn't feel like a stomach bug or anything.

climbingcheesecake · 27/05/2016 17:26

sorry to hear so many are suffering with spd. I sometimes get pelvis issues when I am not pregnant so I am surprised that I have escaped so far.

I had my scan today, all went well and we are having a boy!

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 27/05/2016 18:03

Saw the midwife today - she didn't bother trying to find a heartbeat as she said it's too early at 18+2. She also seemed to think it's too early for SPD - my hips and pelvis disagree! She did make a referral to physio though, I just hope it doesn't take too long. Sorry to here others are suffering too. Glad to hear all the scans are going well - mine isn't until 8 June!

Afreshstartplease · 27/05/2016 18:20

Pfft! Too soon for spd my arse! She's clearly never had it herself silly woman!

I've not been as bad today but very aware that I am plodding and waddling already.

Does anyone think they'll go on maternity early on?

We fly out to Spain in a few days, I'm feeling OK about it now and have got my wrist bands and deet! I'll be avoiding anywhere with stagnant water as per advice and hopefully will be okay

Don't have my scan for 11 days yet feels ages but will go quickly with holiday

Havetobecrazytolivehere · 27/05/2016 21:32

Sorry to hear you're suffering too iris and schnitzel.
I'm not feeling too bad today but have been rushing about so may pay for it tomorrow. Had to take my car to the garage this morning and was a long walk back with all the kids (teacher training day) plus walk back to pick up car and hand over most of my wages boo! Eldest went to her first scout camp tonight so was rushing around trying to pack stuff and then decided to mow the lawn.
I usually wear my pregnancy support tights every other day which helps a lot but they are a bit much every day as the compression gets a bit niggly after a while, plus it makes me need the toilet more.
Fresh I think I am going to stop at 30 weeks this time as I spend all day on my feet, doing school runs, sitting on the floor changing nappies, carrying kids around and playing enthusiastically for hours on end. Don't think I can keep it up much longer, plus all the cleaning up I have to do to keep it okay for work. Picked up my Mat/b1 cert from mw today so I can apply for MA soon. Phew!

Blueskygirl30 · 27/05/2016 22:05

Climbing great news on the scan today! I'm glad it went well.

Pod I did also have some shooting pains in my lower abdomen, maybe a couple of times a day over the weekend and just an occasional uncomfortable feeling in my bladder a couple of times when I went to the toilet. But that was it, I wasn't convinced that I had a UTI at all but thought I'd best get checked out. It's hard to tell sometimes if it's a problem or just normal pregnancy stuff, especially as it's my first pregnancy (that's made it this far anyway). If you're worried I'd go and see your GP/nurse/midwife or get a test kit online even just to put your mind at ease.

clank2 · 27/05/2016 22:13

Are you a childminder havetobecrazy? I am too, its really hard isnt it. I just had a week off due to illness and my back was so mush better which just shows that the job puts our body under a lot of pressure. Im supposed to be working until 36 weeks but already wondering how i will manage.

I had my scan yesterday, everything looks great, HE was very wriggly and active! Unfortunately I am still not well, and have had diarrhoea for 8 days now :( I ended up back in bed again this morning, tried to get up 3 times but was just floored by tiredness.Missed my mw appointment.

Tacoyaki, I am having a lot of cramping, its really horrid. I dont think anything to worry about, we are just unlucky :(

I am super mega itchy but dont think its OC. Especially itchy round my boobs and nipples atm...could rip them off!

Hate to say it but i really hate being pregnant. I love the baby at the end bit, but for me, the rest is like mental and physical torture, roll on october!!!

Afreshstartplease · 28/05/2016 05:58

I went at 29/30 weeks with DC3 due to spd as I was struggling so much. I think it'll be the same although I would like to go longer. I'm going to reduce hours at 25 weeks and see if that enables me to keep going for longer. I would really rather have the time with baby afterwards! Even 32 or 33 weeks would probably be an achievement for me though

Havetobecrazytolivehere · 28/05/2016 08:45

Yes Clank, was it the playing enthusiastically that gave me away!
Last time I made it to 34 weeks but I was looking after a 10mth old and 2yr old and not as many school runs, I was starting to struggle at the end and it was getting a bit boring for the kids. Have a mix of young babies/toddlers and older children this time and they are just more demanding, plus I think my body hasn't really recovered, this is my fourth in just over 7 yrs.
I hate the pregnancy bit too, I am miserable all the way through but know it will be worth it when baby gets here.

Havetobecrazytolivehere · 28/05/2016 08:48

One advantage of being self employed I guess is that I won't start my maternity leave until end of sept but will start to let my clients go over the summer holidays and just manage on a bit less money for a few months until they have all gone.
Saw my first visible kick yesterday, somehow feels more real now I can see something!

Afreshstartplease · 28/05/2016 08:50

Havetobe I saw some really big ones this week! Seemed surreal even though I've done this three times before lol!

Mileymoocow · 28/05/2016 10:19

Hi ladies, please can I join?

I'm 21 weeks today with baby number 1, due 8th October!

Kariana · 28/05/2016 11:17

Tacoyaki Its odd you say that about the nausea as I've woken up today feeling the same. Doesn't feel like a stomach bug to me either but I suppose it could be something I ate last night. I'm wondering if it is pregnancy related but haven't had nausea for a few weeks now.

Also I don't think the cramps are anything to worry about if there is no bleeding. I get such bad sharp prolonged pains and cramps sometimes I will actually be sobbing in pain (doesn't bode we for my pain threshold in labour!) I went to A&E the first time who said there was nothing wrong, that it wasn't BH and that it was probably just ready bad stretching pains.

Nickname1980 · 28/05/2016 11:26

I'm with you, clank, on hating being pregnant! I hate my gigantic boobs and pregnant body. I have zero "glow" and nothing to wear - I don't even want to go out the house - when I don't have to for work or kid stuff - because I can't face the fact that I have nothing to wear and look so awful in all clothes because my boobs are so awkwardly big. (Being a recluse isn't me - I love being out! I go mad staying in!)

My body doesn't fair much better breastfeeding either so I'll still look bloated and a bit too round for my liking when the baby comes, too! I breastfed for 11 months last time so it feels like an endless stretch of time before I will get control over my body and how I look again.

Gosh this is a grumpy post - sorry! I am actually so excited to have another baby. It would just be easier if it didn't make me look and feel so different in the process!

Afreshstartplease · 28/05/2016 12:51

Welcome Miley!

Another one here who doesn't love the pregnancy experience! Not fussed about the labour atleast it doesn't last for months!
