Great news northern

Blueskygirl30 · 24/05/2016 08:57

Fabulous news Northern! Another boy! Smile

clank2 · 24/05/2016 10:50

If you're worrying about Zika it might be worth checking out the area. For example is there a lot of standing water around? Perfect breeding ground for mozzies. Last year we went to an area in France called the camargue and it was simply horrendous. There were so many mosquitoes that you were only safe at the beach, we were all absolutely covered in bites that scarred and no amount of mosquito cream, candles or citronella helped at all. The reason being that there were massive stretches of marsh where the mosquitoes bred and with it being very warm it was just perfect for them, there were too many to fight off!

Feeling a bit better today thank goodness. The GP is fairly sure I had food poisoning, Im supposed to provide a sample but typically Ive gone from not being able to get off the toilet to not needing to go at all. Ive also now got a lovely bunch of grapes from the experience if you know what I mean. Charming. So glad to be able to eat and drink again though, but totally bummed out at the loss of earnings for the week as Im self employed :( Ive got my scan on Thursday too...so excited/nervous!!

clank2 · 24/05/2016 10:51

congrats Northernlight! Did you think it would be a boy?

thistlescot · 24/05/2016 11:05

Hi ladies I've got my scan on Thursday, I've been feeling excited up till now and now I feel quite scared! Nothing specific just worried I guess, I'm 20 weeks today, I've not really felt anything yet which is normal I've read and the midwife said my placentas at the front so can buffer movement but now it's close I feel worried. Is there a facebook group still I can join?

BlueberryMuffin85 · 24/05/2016 12:10

Congrats on the scan northern and glad to hear you're feeling a bit better clank.
I've got another week to wait until my scan and I'm not sure how I'm gonna get through it and the long bank holiday weekend. I am not feeling any movement and I know everyone is different but I'm sure I felt movement when I was on holiday but nothing since. It's just making me feel really anxious, I'm sure it's all ok but I just can't bear the wait and I'm too scared to get a Doppler incase I can't find anything and that stresses me out more! X

EnoughAlready999 · 24/05/2016 13:53

When are you due Blueberry? I'm due 16/10 but not met anyone on here yet that is near to then. My scan is on Thursday 2nd and I haven't felt any movement either. I don't have much of a bump.

Are you finding out the sex?

BlueberryMuffin85 · 24/05/2016 14:21

Hi Enough
I am due on 18/10 so we are just a few days apart. I hate feeling anxious about it as I know it does me no good but I can't help it! Almost just bought a Doppler online but DH has persuaded me against it!
My bump grows throughout the day but then seems to almost disappear overnight.
We aren't going to find out the sex, part of me wants to know but I think I want the surprise more! How about you? x

EnoughAlready999 · 24/05/2016 15:15

This pregnancy was a surprise and I don't want any more surprises so we are finding out. We already have a 10 year old DD. Is it your first?

Kariana · 24/05/2016 18:19

Blueberry and Enough I'm 18th Oct as well! My scan is 1st June and although I've felt quite a bit of movement it's reduced a lot over the last week. I'm hoping the baby has just moved into a different position that makes it harder to feel and I'm still terrified something else will be wrong. I think the build up to the scans is a nerve wracking time!

thistlescot · 24/05/2016 18:21

I'm due on 11th October, am finding I'm crying a lot at the moment, feel like an emotional wreck!

obsessedlex · 24/05/2016 18:31

Thistlescot I'm due 12th and have also been very emotional this week!

Afreshstartplease · 24/05/2016 18:38

I'm due on 19th but none of my DC have made it to due date so I'm thinking anywhere in the two weeks before would be nice!

EnoughAlready999 · 24/05/2016 20:37

Yes I've been quite emotional this week and last. I'm finding it hard to accept that I'm having another and this is making me feel almost ashamed, feel like I don't want anyone to know but I
think it is starting to show so that's difficult.

Also didn't take any folic acid in first 12 weeks so a bit worried about SB.

positivity123 · 24/05/2016 20:58

Hi all. Been lurking but not posted for a while. I'm due on the 12th as well and I have my scan tomorrow which I'm nervous about but I'm feeling it wriggle which is good. I'm not finding out the sex even though DH really wants to! I have also been quite emotional this week, it was worse on Saturday ( I blame the full moon)
Lovely news about a little boy northern

Bluecarrot · 24/05/2016 22:17

To anyone worried about no movement being felt, hmgive your midwife a call. Mine assured me they could always squeeze in a worried mum!

climbingcheesecake · 25/05/2016 19:35

great news northern. I have my scan on friday and am really nervous too. good luck to those having theirs tomorrow.

Figgygal · 25/05/2016 19:55

I've still no movement at 21+1 bloody placenta

Afreshstartplease · 25/05/2016 19:58

19 weeks today!

Spd / pgp is getting worse and still no news on physio appointment. Can definitely see me stuck on crutches at some point or housebound Sad

EnoughAlready999 · 25/05/2016 22:17

What's pgp?

Havetobecrazytolivehere · 25/05/2016 23:00

Pgp is pelvic girdle pain and I think spd is symptic pubic disorder or something. Anyway think it is a combination of pelvic, hip and leg pain bit like having a trapped nerve and also feeling like you been kicked between the legs daily. I alternate between a splitting pain in my lower pelvis and a sort of trapped nerve feeling in my right hip and leg that makes me walk funny. It can get really bad to the point where you need crutches and can cause problems in labour because it restricts hip movement so much.
Sorry your suffering so much fresh. Have you got a good support pillow for night time? I would keep chasing them for your appointment.

EnoughAlready999 · 26/05/2016 07:33

Sounds awful. Anyone with that has my sympathy. Makes me appreciate my pain free pregnancy. I'm just tired still, thought I'd regained my energy at 13/14 weeks but now I'm knackered again!

Afreshstartplease · 26/05/2016 07:42

I have my energy until mid afternoon when I've had enough

For me the spd/pgp is like having a leg that's not properly attached and I feel like I'm dragging it around most of the day. I hurts my hips to lie on either side so sleeping is fun, it hurts my bum to sit on anything not soft, it's aggravated by walking too much, using the stairs too much , pushing anything like a shopping trolley, carrying anything with any weight even a shopping bag
Lots of things I find unavoidable in everyday life TBH

I've slept not too bad last night though and have today off work so hopefully can rest a bit

Blueskygirl30 · 26/05/2016 08:02

Good morning,

I hope those at you that have no very nice symptoms and are in pain aren't in too much pain. It makes my bad back seem like a luxury!

I mentioned the suddenly needing to pee lots a couple of days ago, I decided to just go and get checked out and it turned out I have a mild UTI so have antibiotics. When the nurse tested my pot of pee she just used a test strip thing so I've had a quick look on ebay and they actually seem to sell them on there for only a couple of pounds so have ordered some so that when I start needing to pee loads again I can make sure it's just the pregnancy.

EnoughAlready999 · 26/05/2016 14:56

Can you take anything for that Bluesky or is it just the old cranberry juice?
