Good luck bluesky! I've still got 3 weeks til my next scan!

17+5 today

Feel massive

Think I'll see what first nhs physio is like then perhaps look at osteo as I do always hear good things

Northernlight22 · 16/05/2016 09:22

Good luck bluesky! Mines next week and I'm getting nervous too - hopefully all will be well x

fairgroundsnack · 16/05/2016 12:12

I'm with you Fuzzy - I found doing the seatbelt much easier and more flexible. It's just as safe as long as it is done correctly. I was actually lent a base for #2 which I never bothered using as I was so used to just strapping the seat in.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 16/05/2016 14:12

As long as they are fitted properly then either Isofix or belt fixed seats should be safe. But from what I've read most seats installed using seat belts are incorrectly fitted whereas most with Isofix are correctly fitted.

Our seat is a Gp 0/1 seat so stays in the car but even when we had a 0+ seat it stayed in the car. I find a baby much easier to carry than a baby in a car seat and I use slings rather than a pushchair/pram.

Blueskygirl30 · 16/05/2016 19:25

Thank you for the good luck you guys sent, the scan went really well. A very active little baby in there, it was crazy that you could see the internal organs and the spine so clearly. Also found out that we're having a boy! It officially feels real now!

Afreshstartplease · 16/05/2016 19:47

Great news bluesky!

Looking forward to mine but disappointed it's still so far off!

17+6

Is anyone else having BH yet?

Figgygal · 16/05/2016 22:04

Back from a weekend away with ds, my mum and 4yo niece they had a great time in a family friends caravan we "enjoyed" lots of kids club activities brought me back to my childhood holidays at butlins Grin who needs foreign holidays eh!!

20 wks tomorrow and next scan date to finish off the anomaly scan has come in for 3rd June. Might take ds with me since it's only 1 final check they need to do and as it's a Friday in school hols I'll have no preschool cover for him anyway.

Will catch up on thread now.

Kariana · 16/05/2016 22:47

Great news bluesky!

Figgy do they let you take children in to the scan? My hospital has a very strict policy about them not being allowed into the scan room. Not sure what you're supposed to do if you can't get childcare!

Fresh I don't think BH but lots of awful stretching pains. Skin on my stomach seems so tight I feel like I'm about to recreate a scene from Alien. It's at bursting point!

FuzzyOwl · 16/05/2016 22:54

Kariana my hospital was adamant that children were not allowed but were fine with DD - just as well as it would have meant DH sitting in the waiting room with her otherwise as we had no childcare at all that day. I think that if you are stuck and ask nicely, it is down to the sonographer on the day.

I'll probably call and ask but we've had the scan this is one view of the heart they have to record but she got the view the 4 chamber view and that was fine. I'm not expecting a problem but with it being 9.30 on a Friday morning I've not much choice unfortunately.....he's coming

Fraggleface · 17/05/2016 09:55

I've got my scan on Friday. I'm so impatient!

I weighed myself this morning - 20 weeks - and I've put on 9.5 pounds since early jan. Doesn't sound too bad but that's quite a lot on my 5 foot nothing frame Grin

IrisPurple1 · 17/05/2016 14:10

Hi ladies,
Wifi hit and miss here in Spain but been able to catch up on your posts. Great to hear about everyone's scans.

18+3 and still not felt any movement... Digestion is now audible, and I can't eat much meat. I have a bump and my boobs have finally started getting bigger. Yay!

Just still waiting for a sign baby is moving. 15 more days to wait til the scan. Thank you to everyone who replied to my post earlier.

Good luck with the upcoming scans!

clank2 · 17/05/2016 21:49

Afreshstart yes, I started having braxton hicks a while ago. Very painful, sporadically through the day but especially when tired or stressed. Midwife says I have irritable uterus. Makes it very slow and painful to walk.

Im nearly 20 weeks now, and my nipples are on fire! The pain woke me up, had to rip top off in middle of night!

Baby is very wriggly and boofy which is nice :)

My blood tests have shown up some weird antibodies developing in my blood, so partner has to be tested to make sure babies blood cells wont get attacked by my antibodies. Bit worried about it really, but trying not to until partner gets the test.

Kariana · 17/05/2016 22:58

I hope all goes well clank, I'm sure it will.

Where is everyone's baby nestling at the moment? Mine was high on the right previously, however it had moved right down into my pelvis and seemed to have got comfy towards the back left. Until tonight that is... I think I annoyed it by pressing to listen to the heartbeat with my new monitor and with a rather hard kick, followed by much agonising pain it has shifted over to the right hand side, very near the front and is clearly using my bladder as a pillow! I think my poor husband was seriously considering taking me to hospital whilst I was doubled over sobbing in pain. All is fine again now though thankfully.

BigPigLittlePig · 18/05/2016 07:25

Moves all the time Kariana - yesterday was lying transverse with its back to the world, so could feel its head and spine. Other times can hardly feel a thing so must be the other was round entirely! Evidently nice and roomy in there for him/her.

I was having lots of BH at one point but they seem to have eased off for now. Relieved as they weren't overly pleasant.

20 week scan today and consultant appointment. Hoping to avoid seeing any boy/girl bits to keep the mystery! Will be hard with lots of extra scans but we're determined. Dd got a bit overexcited and is under the misapprehension that the baby is coming out today Confused

SaraC8 · 18/05/2016 11:02

Hi Smile I've been following this thread, I'm due 12th October. 19 weeks today, seems to be going so quickly Shock Just started feeling movements last week which has been nice as I had it in my head I wouldn't feel them for a while, at 16 week appt the midwife said I had a "bulky uterus" haha! But have been feeling lots of nice movement going on in there. Can't wait for my next scan!

SaraC8 · 18/05/2016 11:08

Oh, and I weigh about 3kg under what I was when I found out I was pregnant...I was quite sick up until last week, and was overweight to start with (was referred to consultant for BMI but she said I'm fine and referred me back to midwife led care), anyone else in the same boat? Feel weird not putting on weight! Im getting a bump so I know baby is fine, just feels strange to be pregnant and not putting anything on yet Confused

bringonthrsummer · 18/05/2016 11:26

I'm 2lbs under my starting weight and I haven't been sick once. If baby is fine I wouldn't worry. I'm sure our weight will creep up soon enough. Smile

Northernlight22 · 18/05/2016 11:34

Hi Sara, I've got the same due date 😊

I'm still about 3lbs under my start weight (high BMI too so not too worried as I'm definitely changing shape!)

No movement yet I don't think - 19 weeks today, and got my scan on Monday!

SaraC8 · 18/05/2016 11:36

Oh I feel a bit better then, that's good!! I've got my scan 2 weeks today, will be 21 weeks. Can't wait!

BadlyWrittenPoem · 18/05/2016 11:57

Sara I only reached my pre pregnancy weight at 26 weeks in my first pregnancy having lost a stone in a week early on. I actually ended up with consultant care and growth scans because it made me so underweight at booking but my baby was completely fine. Smile

Figgygal · 18/05/2016 13:16

Welcome Sara

I was too scared to weigh myself this morning but after a weekend away I expect I will be up to a stone gain now. Feel so fat today, last time with DS I had a really firm obvious bump this time still feel fat and it looks wobbly.

Figgygal · 18/05/2016 13:17

oh and I have already eaten all the food I brought with me to work today.................another 4 hours to go and all I can think of is FOOD!!!
