I'm in so much fucking discomfort again

Everything from the waist down hurts

Paracetamol doing nothing

So down in the dumps

How am I gonna manage another 23 weeks!

Kariana · 12/05/2016 20:57

It sounds awful fresh Sad Do you have physio? Could you get stronger painkillers? I was given codeine for my crippling headache that wouldn't go away. It's fine during the second trimester apparently, although they say no more than a few doses so might be a short term solution.

Afreshstartplease · 12/05/2016 21:00

I've put a referral in for physio but could take weeks

Gonna try gp tomorrow

Literally the only way I have no pain is lay on my back

BigPigLittlePig · 12/05/2016 21:35

Fresh you could try buying a large tubigrip and wearing it around your pelvis and the bottom of your bump, doubled over on itself. That was the "next step" when I saw physio, if painkillers weren't working. You have my total sympathies, I had it horribly last time and have counted my blessings that so far I've been ok. Hope you don't have to wait too long for your appt.

Nickname1980 · 12/05/2016 22:04

Oh no, fresh, I wish I had some tips! I hope you manage to get some physio soon. One of my friends found Pilates (and an instructor who was very familiar with sgp) helpful.

Had a scan today, all is well, baby is fairly petit but then, my babies always are! It's another boy... I feel slightly guilty that I had hoped it would be a girl. I won't ever let him know that, and I'm certain that feeling will vanish once he arrives! I wasn't expecting to care either way (as long as its healthy and all that, etc etc), so that took me by surprise. Anyone else had a gender preference?

Tomkat79 · 12/05/2016 22:34

Sorry to hear you're suffering fresh, sounds shit.

I have one of each already and really wasn't bothered about the sex of this one, but since finding out its a boy I'm kinda pining for another girl so that she had a sister. Thinking they'd be closer. Stupid though as no guarantee of anything and my 9 yo son and 2yo DD are thick as thieves together! As long as it's healthy and all that!

Bluecarrot · 13/05/2016 00:33

Hello :)
Been away for a while because life got a little crazy and I just couldn't keep up with the thread!
I have slight preference for a girl but more for practical reasons ( already have 2!) but will find out in a few weeks.
Has weight gain been discussed much? ( only read 3 pages back!)
I've gained a stone (I'm 18w) but partly due to a horrendously stressful time inc relationship breakdown. I just don't have the energy to exercise or prep anything and keep resorting to freezer meals at least 4 times a week :( of course now it's after midnight and I can't sleep, even though I've felt like I slept walk from 4pm onwards!

Afreshstartplease · 13/05/2016 05:28

I have a support belt on order hopefully it will arrive soon . I'm concerned I'll have to go on sick from work TBH

My body feels so ruined

I've been awake now since 5 unable to get comfy so think I'll just get up in a minute and take my time getting ready

I did have slight preference for a girl so dd could have a sister but I'm sure she will be just as close to her third brother! I don't think there's anything wrong with having a gender preference as look as you then don't let it affect your bond with baby

Kariana · 13/05/2016 07:37

I desperately wanted and part of me still wants my first to be a girl. However, I've convinced myself it's a boy and tell everyone I'm sure it is. I'm not sure how much of that is me building some emotional resilience for if it does turn out to be. I'll be happy either way because right now I'm so panicked about it being healthy that it's all I'm really worried about.

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 13/05/2016 07:39

Sorry you're feeling so bad fresh, hope the support belt helps. I've been starting to feel SPD as well, but luckily at the moment it's not too bad. I'll mention it to the midwife next time I see her.

I probably have a slight preference for a girl, but on the other hand I'd also like DS to have a brother - as long as everything's ok I'm not too bothered really.

Afreshstartplease · 13/05/2016 14:35

Managed to get a doctors appointment for tomorrow so hopefully get some codine and maybe they can speed up my physio referral fingers crossed

I wanted both of my first two to be girls and they weren't and I was disappointed at first

With DC3 I didn't believe it was possible I'd have a girl but I did!

FuzzyOwl · 13/05/2016 14:52

I would like this one to be a girl so it is really close in age to DD1 and so DH, who wants a DS, agrees to a third child.

Haha fuzzy!

My support belt has arrived!

Blueskygirl30 · 13/05/2016 18:04

Fuzzy I totally think your real reason for wanting a girl it completely legit, love it!

Fresh I hope your support belt hopes with the pain, let us know how you get on with it!

Blue I'm 19 weeks today and have put on 3kgs/ half a stone so far, I started if overweight though so I've been trying not to eat quite so much junk food and have been managing to get more exercise as I've been off work since January.

I went to the baby show today and ordered a pushchair, I would have waited until a bit later on to buy it but I just couldn't resist a deal!

Afreshstartplease · 13/05/2016 18:09

Bluesky what pushchair did you get?

The support band doesn't feel like if has much growing space in it but we will see

BadlyWrittenPoem · 13/05/2016 18:30

Now that we have three girls I think a girl would be more convenient. Plus if we have a boy I'll get rage from all the things people who think everyone wants "one of each" will say. But then if we have another girl we'll probably still get all the "are you going to try for a boy" comments that we've been getting ever since we had the last girl. I feel like this one is bound to be a boy because we've had four girls so another seems unlikely even though I know the probability is the same every time.

Afreshstartplease · 13/05/2016 18:42

A girl would have been easier for us logistically but never mind

Now I am busy planning a nice way I can split a bedroom for dd and baby, I have some ideas but will need some muscle to do it for me lol

Planeteer · 13/05/2016 19:25

Hi all. Was on an earlier thread with you and accidentally fell off, hope you don't mind me crashing back in! Will get catching up now, hope you're all doing ok.

Blueskygirl30 · 13/05/2016 19:26

Fresh I went for the iCandy Peach 3, I had a look at a few other pushchairs but DH and I just really loved the Peach.

I'm looking forward to my scan next week, I hope we manage to find out the sex, I'm so impatient to find out now!

Afreshstartplease · 14/05/2016 07:18

Welcome back planeteer

I can't decide if I like the shapes of the icandy prams!

Baby has been moving lots past two days which is lovely Smile

17+3

Nickname1980 · 14/05/2016 10:59

Oh I feel better hearing about all your gender guessed/preferences! Have now come around to the idea of another little boy ----though now considering yet another baby after this one to finally get the girl...

Is anyone considering a double buggy? (Sorry if this has already been discussed!)

Or - totally different one altogether - anyone considered the Baby Zen Yoyo? I know can't be a double, but it's so compact! Love the idea of not having a monster of a pram in my small London house...

Nickname1980 · 14/05/2016 10:59

*those weird lines were meant to be a strike-through. How do you do strike-throughs?!??

Planeteer · 14/05/2016 11:17

Finally catching up a bit. Really interesting to read about gender thoughts. It's funny, I really thought I'd have a preference, or would have a stronger hunch one way or the other about what we're having but I really don't!

Everyone who's seen our 12 week scan pic has said girl, and I'd have thought I would have been climbing the walls by now wanting to know if they're right, but I seem to be being remarkably and uncharacteristically zen about it!

18 weeks today and have had lots of little flutters the last week or so. Anomaly/gender scan isn't until 21+4, so I'll have to be patient for a while longer!

Afresh we've gone for the Cosatto Giggle 2 in Firebird, but I loved all their designs. So pretty!

What's everyone up to this weekend?

Afreshstartplease · 14/05/2016 11:52

So far I'm looking at the air in Myspace but there are other fabrics I prefer just nor available on the air! I'd love them to bring out Pitter patter or night bird on the air

Afreshstartplease · 14/05/2016 11:53

Oh and I have codine! Grin
