Hi ladies
I’m sorry for the slow reply, I started catching up from the beginning of the first thread and it’s taking me a while!
Thank-you MeDownSouth, Ditsygal, Tomkat79, Figgygal, Carlsberg84
Ditsygal I’m glad your parcel arrived in the end. I’ve been feeling emotional too, but I wouldn’t describe myself as ‘calm and level-headed’ at the best of times (and my DP certainly wouldn’t).
Tomkat79 How lovely to have an impromptu scan, I could watch our baby all day!
Figgygal I think we’re fairly close to each other, as I’m in Bristol. I don’t know whether our baby is a boy or a girl, my DP wants it to be a surprise and so do I, but I also want to know everything about the baby and I’m not sure I have the willpower to wait another 6 months.
Clank2 I’m sorry to hear about your midwife, mine said that the nhs is great but sometimes you need to oil the wheels a bit. Like BadlyWrittenPoem, I booked my next appointment when I was there, if I could. Fortunately, my midwife and everyone I’ve spoken to so far has been lovely. One girl who showed us to the scan room said my mother-in-law couldn’t come in with us (after I’d been told it would be fine and she’d got really excited about it), but the nurse who did the scan was really lovely and it all worked out fine.
IrisPurple1 Congratulations on your good news. I don't do much yoga but I’m looking forward to doing antenatal yoga, especially as I’m already a bit breathless, which makes me worry a bit about the birth. I feel much the same as you, but I tend to get tired in the evening anyway so it feels like a slightly more extreme version of a non-pregnancy day and luckily my DP is coping with it very well.
Badlywrittenpoem I’m glad everything went well at your scan.
Hi MissMusicale I’m glad things are getting better after what must have been a really tough start.
Climbingcheesecake I’m sorry to hear about your morning sickness, my nausea is still hanging around too but a few friends had it up to week 16, so I’m hoping the blooming will start after that!
Pod100 Congratulations! I got my screening results on Thursday too, I wasn’t worried about it but I find any positive updates reassuring.
Hi Amy0211 congratulations on your Halloween baby. Ours is due on the 22nd and, although I know it’s not for everyone, I don’t think I’m going to be able to resist a fancy dress outfit like a tiny pumpkin. I was looking at the Xmas ones on sale when we found out too, but my DP put his foot down and said it was too early. We had our first scan last week, it's amazing isn’t it?
Afreshstartplease I’m sorry to hear about your allergies. I love maternity leggings, I’ve being looking forward to being able to wear pregnancy jeans for ages, and I asked the lady to cut the tags out so I could wear them home from the shop.
They’re baggy in places too, but I’m enjoying being able to grow into clothes, rather than the usual pressure to lose weight to get into clothes I’ve grown out of.
I’m in the same place as you regarding getting on top of things too, over the last couple of months I've basically sat on the sofa whilst my lovely DP took care of me, but now I’m 14 weeks and the risk of mc is reduced, today’s plan is to sort out the wardrobe and my DP is on my case to get started.
BadlyWrittenPoem and BigPigLittlePig Are you still in normal clothes? After walking around with my trousers and skirts undone for a while, I went maternity clothes shopping at 11 weeks. It’s probably because I’ve been eating so much, rather than because of my baby bump though (as the nausea was worse if I didn’t eat regularly).
My DP reminds me that if I eat too much it’ll come back to bite me when the baby is born, but I hope that breastfeeding will help with the weight loss.
