Juflin I think different airlines have different policies but on BA for example you can't fly after 36 weeks (think that rule is quite common) and after 28 weeks you can only fly if you have a letter from the Dr saying you're fit to do so. The letter has to be dated within 7 days of your flight.

Is anyone suffering with trouble sleeping? Last night I woke up from 2 til 330. Today I've woken up at 6 which isn't as bad. Thing is when it happens I feel knackered but also that I can't get back to sleep!

Thanks to whoever posted the Boots voucher code I will check that out today (sorry can never remember who wrote what).

Missing perhaps you should get your work to do another risk assessment now you're in the later stages of pregnancy. They should make adjustments for you and if they can't should sign you off on full pay. I could not stand up for a 5 hour shift even with a break! I did a 1.5 hour presentation yesterday but sat on a high chair for all of it!

Have a manic day ahead at work followed by a two hour train journey and drive at the other end. Looking forward to my bed at the end of all that.

Dowhatyoulove123 · 14/04/2016 06:48

Hi ladies, I've been more of a lurker than a poster.

I'm 25 + 2 today, due very end of July.
Been having a good pregnancy. Got my check up next week and I'm looking forward to getting my GD tests done - I'm assuming from the amount of chocolate that I've consumed that I have GD..

Ellizardo · 14/04/2016 07:36

Welcome dowhatyoulove!

Julfin - I am flying easyjet to Mallorca who request a fit to fly letter after 28 weeks (I'll be 28+5 when I fly). I think it's semi-discretionary - a bit like take-on luggage - in terms of whether you get an officious person at the gate who insists you produce the letter or not. Obviously they don't know quite how pregnant we are, so it's quite discretionary I think. But I don't want to be refused the flight considering how disproportionately I am looking forward to getting away! Some airlines accept a FtF letter from a midwife (free) but easyjet insist on it coming from a doc which is where the charge comes in. I just spoke to the duty doctor on the phone at my surgery, she signed me off verbally and will pick up the letter on friday when i produce the moolah.

Vrey pleased you're in the glowy stage of preg. It's lovely t ohear!

Kaytee - i love the case of the 3lb poo! I have to say my morning constitutional after my daily cup of coffee usually does the trick.

Woke up in the early hours this morning with crippling cramp in my right calf. All I can recommend for that and my sicatica is preg yoga/pilates ...child's pose/puppy pose are both good.

Hi Dowhat. I am 25+2 today too! That means we are due date buddies! Glad you are having a good pregnancy. Is this first baby? I too have consumed a large amount of chocolate but that's normal for me! Grin

tams13 · 14/04/2016 07:49

Welcome dowhat

Thank you for the boots code (sorry, I can't remember who posted it now). Been toying with the idea of a next2me but we're being given my old Moses basket by my parents so feels silly even thinking about it. Really liked the look of it though and it acts as a travel crib.

Loving the poo stories! Making me feel much better about my own 'routine'.

I'm another one in the enjoying pregnancy camp. Not really had any problems at all so far. Definitely waking up earlier though. I find it comes and goes bel. Some nights I'll wake every hour from around 01:00 feeling wide awake but then be knackered in the day. Other days I can sleep through until 06:00 with no problems. Doesn't seem to be any reason for either. Sorry that's not much help.

Bluebell20 · 14/04/2016 07:59

dats that made me laugh SO MUCH. Sadly I didn't manage their expectations but I really, really wish I had now!

MrsRolly I would have been thrilled with that poo experience, too!

KayTee that is brilliant! I have also weighed myself before and after a pregnancy poo - at my nan's house at Christmas. Mine was a pound. I was very proud and had to tell her when I came back into the living room. Yours is AMAZING!

julfin aside from the constipation and feeling like a frump, I am having a very easy pregnancy ride as well, and I am loving it. I also am really enjoying the fact that I am nurturing and growing a baby automatically without having to think about it or lose any sleep - I do keep having little moments of 'argh, this is going to be very very different in three months'!

puzzle hope you feel better today.

Bel cor, I don't envy you that journey!

Dowhat welcome!

Elliz I have had cramp in my calf three times so far. Every time has been when I haven't been sleeping with a pillow between my knees - don't know if that is just coincidence?

Dowhatyoulove123 · 14/04/2016 08:42

Oh lulabells that's cool! Due date buddies!

First pregnancy - all going very well so far Smile

Did my Pilates DVD this morning and popped on a wash there, exciting times.. I've found sleeping without my pregnancy pillow easier last few nights Hmm

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 14/04/2016 09:15

I have to say I have largely hated pregnancy. Luckily we aren't planning on having more children (obviously you never know what will happen etc) so should only have to do this once! Feeling the baby move is lovely, but everything else is not. Mind you, it's not been plain sailing for me, though it could be worse!

Cookiesandcoffee · 14/04/2016 09:29

Welcome dowhat and thanks for officially joining!

kaytee I love a poo story and yours is EPIC. Congrats.

missingpiece I would speak to your manager / line manager about another risk assessment/recorded meeting to discuss your situation/needs. I wish I had been more pushing with previous employers. Because I ended up actually leaving for mat leave at 30 weeks due to being so miserable and in pain from having to stand for hours with no break etc. Try and be firm with them. I know it's hard but you sound like you're having a crappy time of it

Sat starving hungry at the hospital. Bitter and hangry. The coffee machine I can see is making me more angry. Just had my sugar/glucose/vom drink and now I feel super sick and baby is doing some very visible somersaults in there!

TheGreaterGood · 14/04/2016 11:21

Hi all - can I play? Can't believe I'm 27 weeks (it's a boy!) today and only just found this thread!

First baby at age 42(eek!) following 4 MCs and lots of tears. Still can't believe I'm actually having a baby but having looked at all your nursery plans I think I need to start believing it! Have bought precisely nothing (apart from some very cute but not very practical baby clothes)...moved to a totally new area in December to a house that needs some work so upstairs (including nursery which is currently my office) all needs painting (after awful wood cladging - seriously, who needs a mock tudor effect INSIDE their house? - has been removed), new carpets, curtains etc. Better crack on then.

Am also not sleeping well what with nightly heartburn, baby bungling around and numerous weeing expeditions but apart from that all good.

Got mat leave sorted - last day at work 22nd July...can't say I'm not counting down. My office is 100 miles from home but WFH 3 days a week and stay over near work (at my sisters) one night a week. Not so bad but I think the 5.30am wake up on a Tuesday, 2 full on days of meetings and getting home at 9pm on a Wednesday might start getting wearing soon.

Cookie - what are you doing in hospital? Sorry - haven't had time to RTFT properly to find out! Hope you get seen soon anyway so you can have something to eat.

KayTee87 · 14/04/2016 12:04

greatergood - welcome Grin and congratulations, sorry to hear of your previous losses Thanks
You're almost in third trimester!!
I'm 26 weeks on Saturday, first baby for DH and me - we're having a boy.
I finish work at 36 weeks and use 4 weeks annual leave before starting official maternity leave on my due date.

KayTee87 · 14/04/2016 12:09

Should have added I was suffering terrible heartburn, gaviscon was hardly touching it. Finally got fed up and went to the pharmacist who say you're allowed 20mg omeprazole, bought some and haven't suffered since the day after taking my first tablet. I feel so much better now!

SpeakNoWords · 14/04/2016 12:15

Cookies hope you're done at the hospital and have had something to eat! I loathe the whole experience of having to down the lucozade on an empty stomach.

Hello to GreaterGood and DoWhat Smile

Had my 28 weeks consultant appt today. GTT came back fine, thankfully, and blood pressure was behaving itself too. So all good, no issues which I am very happy about. I'm not minding being pregnant but I kind of want to get on with it and fast forward to the end!

SpeakNoWords · 14/04/2016 12:28

Oh, forgot to say that DC1 was 9lbs 13oz, Bluebell, which is fairly hefty. He also had a very large head, was 98th centile...

28 + 2

KayTee87 · 14/04/2016 17:10

cookies how did the rest of your day at hospital go?

What's everyone doing tonight? My husband is out for a long training cycle probably won't be in til 8ish (getting dark around then). I've just finished work and pre ordered myself a dominos to be delivered at 6 then will have a nice bath and early night. I'm not sure a dominos pizza is on the recommended list of foods Blush

Thom80 · 14/04/2016 17:41

greatergood & dowhat - hello & welcome to the thread.
Kaytee - dominos sounds amazing. I am off to pregnancy yoga. Although after a long day at work I am looking forward to putting my feet up.
I have decided my mat leave, last day is 21st July. I wanted to go until 25th (my due date is 28th) but my MW reaction was 'that is interesting, as I am pretty sure you will have had your baby before then'!! I decided to go early as a compromise. I might use some leave to have a few days to pamper myself & see family first.
cookie hope the hospital went well.

BelOfTheBall79 · 14/04/2016 18:59

Welcome greatergood and dowhat!

Ladies I have to share my train story. Arrived to a packed train which had all seat allocations messed up. I don't get allocated seats as I just get anytime tickets. Could have cried when I got on the train to find reserved tickets on every seat. But this AMAZING man said it wouldn't be right for me not too have a seat and said he'd get the next train! Trains are not that frequent. I could have kissed him. Karma worked out in the end as someone didn't turn up and he got the last seat. I think I love him. He probably also saved a tears incident! I'd buy him a drink if they weren't free Smile Wine.

On a less good note my tights are falling down. They are literally half way down my legs. It's fine while I'm sitting but am dreading getting up at my station... this is sadly not the first time I've looked like Bert from the penguins scene in Mary Poppins. Does anyone have any good maternity tights recommendations?

pulpi · 14/04/2016 20:23

My best constipation advice: a few spoonfuls of vindaloo lamb curry last weekend cleaned me right out.

Can't say the same for my toilet.

Cookiesandcoffee · 14/04/2016 21:23

Bel what a lovely story. Restored some faith in humanity!

Jealous of the Dominos kaytee

speak great news on your results

Welcome greatergood and really sorry to hear of your history. It's starting to get real now isn't it?! I had my glucose test to test for diabetes. Involved not eating from dinner last night until lunch today.

Thanks ladies, made it out of the hospital for lunch which made me happy. Apparently I'll hear tomorrow if there's anything abnormal about the results. I treated myself to some maternity jogging bottoms and (very attractive!) maternity pants - oh wow! What a delight!

In another topic of conversation ... Did anyone watch the Portland Hospital program last night?

BelOfTheBall79 · 14/04/2016 22:04

Good luck with results Cookies. Hope all OK. And defo deserve your mag clothes treats!

I'm still thinking about Kaytee's dominoes...

dats · 14/04/2016 22:04

Welcome, dowhat!

pulpi Grin I hope you had some Domestos handy. I went out for a curry a couple of weeks that was a Dansak masquerading as a Vindaloo but it had its benefits!

Bel hooray for mystery train man! Not maternity tights, but I've sworn by the extremely exclusive and expensive Asda footless, all-over body shaper tights. They act like support tights and have a soft waistband and stay up fine. I'm 5'10 and often have problems in that regard. They were about £4 last time I bought some. I like footless because I wear them with boots and socks.

Cookies glad your test is all over and done with, fingers crossed you 'pass' and don't have to change anything.

Speak hooray for a clear GTT!

Elliz & Bluebell I am also in Cramp Club - it has been horrific at times. Mostly in my lower legs and feet sometimes both at the same time - ouch. Last night my hamstring decided to join in. I hope it's not bloody working its way up!

Greater, welcome! I have loitered on the 40+ thread and seen you posting #stalker. Huge congrats and sorry to hear of the earlier part of your journey. I'm 43 and nearly 27w with DC2, had DD at 41.

Kaytee what did you have on your pizza?

I'm going to spend the last part of the evening on Ravelry looking at blanket patterns, hooray!

dats 26+4

julfin · 14/04/2016 23:33

Welcome Greatergood and Dowhat! And congratulations! If you want to, please do add personal stats to our stats thread - I think it's called something like July 2016 stats - I'd send you the link but I'm not sure how to from my app. Ellizardo might be able to post the link - she's a bit of a (newfound) tech wizard Wink

Bel re tights, I normally use Boots tights which have a good selection of sizes corresponding to both height and dress-size (which I find useful at 5'10"). Since being pregnant, I've simply upsized ie I've declared myself to be size 14 instead of size 10 which means I now take XL tights rather than L. They are really comfortable, plus they come up nice and high above my bump and don't fall down. Not sure whether there's any significant advantage to maternity tights but I suspect the price would be choke-worthy so I'm sticking with the mainstream!

I'm another calf-cramp sufferer. I do a spinning class which brings it on chronically. I'm sadly going to have to admit defeat with spinning now - a combination of the cramps, plus the constant somersaults that the baby turns for the entire hour plus the fact that I increasingly can't quite reach the handlebars Grin makes it no longer viable. Will switch to yoga or swimming instead. Will miss the hard-core cardio though. Have been loving my holiday but I think I've maybe had a few too many delicious Italian ice creams - and I actually can't wait to do a bit of exercise when we get home! Will keep you posted on my good intentions to do my normal 4-mile run to work on Monday/Tuesday - might be a bit over-ambitious given that I'm about twice the size as pre-hol!

26+3

BelOfTheBall79 · 15/04/2016 11:14

Thanks all for tights recommendations! Perhaps I should just try normal tights in a bigger size!

Has anyone been getting any pulls in stomach muscles area? Basically like a major ongoing stitch? I woke up with this overnight and it was horrendous. Took me ages to walk it off this morning. Or is this a normal pregnancy pain that I just need to get used to?

Have been running round indoors after country wildlife this morning. Went downstairs to find a dead mouse on the rug...have one of my two cats to thank for that! No sooner had I disposed of that than I see a baby rabbit bounding down the hall swiftly followed by one cat swiftly followed by another. Managed to get the rabbit in a different room to the cats...and then managed to free it outside. Poor little thing.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 15/04/2016 11:25

I've had the horrible stitch Bel although usually because I've tried to walk somewhere too quickly!

I hope you get good GTT news Cookies.

Mar19901 · 15/04/2016 12:34

Hope ur all ok x

Currently sitting in hospital had no movement since yesterday morning. Feeling so worried
