We think we're going for James, I really like Matthew but DH not keen. I like James too though :)
I'm not telling anyone name in real life though but I can trust you ladies Grin

Thom80 · 11/04/2016 18:09

Kaytee - we are thinking of light grey walls too. I love the things you have picked out. It is going to look gorgeous.
Jem - did you have the scan at St Thomas' in London? I am thinking of have one more private scan, which is a bit crazy as I have 4 NHS scans booked in already but I want another pic for the record.
I am off to see my consultant tomorrow, I am keeping everything crossed that I can move back to fortnightly apts rather than weekly. Weekly is very draining.

Jem01 · 11/04/2016 18:48

Thanks Gx91 will give it a try!

Cookies & julfin this is exactly what I fear, that no matter what creams I use it won't work!

KayTee loving the nursery decor, simple but looks sweet! We are also going with a "J" name too :-)

Thanks everyone for the scan comments. Thom yes it was St Thomas in London their private clinic. Would absolutely recommend it!

What's everyone having for dinner tonight? I'm about to cook a chicken & noodle stir-fry. Yum!!

MrsRolly · 11/04/2016 19:06

Hello ladies,

so much to catch up on! We are going grey for the nursery too but with yellow as well. Still no closer on a name though Confused

Some brilliant tips on here, can't believe how quick it's going, I have 12 weeks left at work if I decide not to take any leave beforehand. That takes me to 37 + 4 when I finish which is fine aside from I had DD at 37 weeks exactly so may play the last few weeks week by week! When is everyone else working too? I'm hoping my mat cover comes in soon to start handover just in case!!

I'm dreaming of a wonderful sunny summer but I guess we will have to see how that goes Grinplanning to spend August on the beach, BBQs and lovely long warm evenings... May be delusional ha ha.

We have a private scan booked for last Saturday of the month not 3D though as they scare me a bit ha.

I feel so full of baby already having to eat less otherwise if I'm full it's so uncomfortable, my ribs are taking a beating the last few days. A week or so till I see the midwife which I'm looking forward to, what have other people's 28 week appointments been like?

TheMissingPieceToMyPuzzle · 11/04/2016 19:21

Ahh Kaytee my sons middle name is going to be James, I love the name Grin

Any other ladies wanting to wish this 3rd tri away?! I have reached my limit and just want my little man here already! Not enjoying being pregnant as its not been great so far!! SPD, still throwing up, heart palputations, breathing scares, worries about movements, worries about preterm labour, always looking at the tissue just in case!! All ive been doing is worrying and I miss not being able to eat certain things, I want runny egg and soldiers and a cold bottle of cider!! Damnn haha sorry for the moan but want to meet him alreadyyyy

Thom80 · 11/04/2016 19:28

Jem - I had taken a look at the website but they don't seem to have a price list. Was it expensive? I have been paying around £149 for a normal scan.

primarynoodle · 11/04/2016 19:48

puzzle i am so done with being pregnant now! SPD, constant anxiety etc etc im so bored of it grr

Re stretchmarks - ive not got any yet (touch wood!!!!!!) and am 22 so hopefully thats an old wives tale - as far as my questionable internet research has taken me, its a hereditary link i.e. if your mum got them, its likely you will too and vice versa... in any case almost everything suggests moisterising makes squat difference!

birdandbee · 11/04/2016 19:59

Hi everyone!

Sorry its been awhile.... broke my phone 3 weeks ago and not so easy to find time to get on here via the laptop. phone cake continues as replacement is being sent back as its faulty Angry

Hope everyone is well?
Cant believe i only have 9 weeks left of work, where has the time gone! Although I'm guessing the next 12 and bit weeks until due date is going to go slowly.
Will catch up properly and get back into the conversation, but just wanted to touch base and say Hi.

27+3 today Grin

birdandbee · 11/04/2016 20:00

*phone gate .... not phone cake Blush
have Cake on the brain!!

FifiRebel · 11/04/2016 20:31

Hi all, have been struggling to keep up with my new commute 😴 day 1 of 3 in London today.

Dats - I read on the old thread that you had bought bars to convert your car seats to isofix? I have an extremely ancient car (W reg!) so I'm intrigued. Was it complicated to do?

Youandme - really glad you're finding the squeezy app useful too! I've been getting out of practice since going back to work but it's still making me do it at least once a day which is better than I managed pre-app.

Cheery - thanks for asking the question about Moses basket, I've been wondering the same. As we are having summer babies, what is everyone planning to do with blankets/sleeping bags? I feel really clueless about the best option for the weather (not that we have hot summers very often eh!)

Anna - my boobs aren't as sore as first trimester but they feel really itchy?! I'm paranoid about milk starting too, really don't want it to come in until baby is here.

Jem - amazing scan picture! On stretch marks, I've been using bio oil in the morning and palmers cocoa butter lotion in the evening. I don't have any marks on my stomach but noticing lots on my boobs. However they are transparent, they were never red, so don't know if my regime has helped?!

Kaytee - I love your nursery pics, thank you for sharing! Very inspirational. I have been mulling over a grey scheme too.

Puzzle - I'm with you, wishing the third trimester away too. Bored of being tired all the time (although I should get used to that), different ailments each week and not being able to have uncooked cured meats!

Birdandbee - so jealous you are in single figures for the mat leave countdown!! I've just downloaded an app to countdown...

I had a midwife appointment yesterday, was a lovely experience as we had the appointment in the delivery suite postnatal room! (It was obviously vacant...) I felt a bit sad as the room was so lovely and modern but it's in the MLU and I'm consultant led. Trying to focus on the fact my baby will benefit from extra obs. She took my measurements and I'm right on target, 24cm bump. Shocked as I feel so small compared to other friends who are further behind but chuffed all is okay.

Cookiesandcoffee · 11/04/2016 20:57

Thanks dats it's the wrong way for me I'm more west.. But thank you! I have found one that is only £60 but has to be done by 29 weeks and only lasts 15 mins.. I'm in a dilemma now..

kaytee and thom we are also going grey! What great taste Wink I'm going white and grey with hints of navy I think.

jem I think a lot of it is down to genes- unfortunately my mum got them and so did I. No new ones here thank goodness..

mrsrolly it was usual of being measured, blood pressure, and I also had bloods taken and anti D injection (for resus neg). Mentioned whooping cough vaccine and the GTT as she weighed me (cow)

missing I'm already fed up and I don't have half the problems on your list so you have my sympathies. Really sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish. Is there a treat you can get to cheer yourself up? Eg favourite ice cream? (It's all I want this past week!)

Sorry to hear about your phone dramas bird glad to have you back on board :)

fifi I don't know how you're doing it. Do you train nap well? Early night I hope. How long will you be doing this for? Until mat leave?

Managed a good hour in the gym tonight after a day at work, and I've eaten really well after a weekend of a few too many indulgences. Whoever asked about dinner I had steak, sweet potato and a large mushroom. It was yummy!!

AnnaT45 · 11/04/2016 21:29

Ah glad you like DD's nursery. Jem it is the lulworth. I love it. Will be getting for this one too. To be honest my decor didn't cost much. I bought cheap frames from IKEA or supermarkets and then found lovely postcards or cards to put them in. MIL bought the lights from cotton and cable you choose whatever colours you like and how you want them. Worth a look! They give a lovely soft light great for calm down time. The chest is IKEA and is marvellous! Can fit everything I need in there, bedding, clothes, nappies etc. The best thing about a small room is it stays tidy so it always looks nice!

Glad a few of you gave sore boobs too! Mine were itchy last time but ok this time. They just feel so sore. Convincing myself it means it's a boy as I feel different!

I use bio oil for stretch marks. Last time I didn't get any... And then a week overdue got a few on my hips Angry I used bio oil after and they cleared up. I don't think there is much you can do to stop them but I like how the bio oil makes me skin feel!

Exciting for those in the home straight! Going so fast!!! DH and I need to discuss names. Boy is sorted but girls is hard! DD has a lovely name and I've not found anything else that I quite like. I'm liking Grace but I don't like popular names as I have one and hated being one of three in my class constantly! I don't like whacky after. Ah well gives me something to look at when I go on mat leave Grin

smallplainblonde · 11/04/2016 21:48

Kaytee, I love those photos. Your nursery will be lovely. Can I ask where you got the rug?? I'm looking for something similar. I am also trying to convince DH on the name Matthew, I love it. James is also gorgeous!

Like a lot of others I'm feeling a bit fed up now, so tired and bump is starting to feel heavy and I'm only 25+2 Sad I'm off on holidays on Saturday though so I shouldn't complain!

BelOfTheBall79 · 12/04/2016 07:27

Anna I love your nursery, very calming. And KayTee your pics are similar to the look we're going for in our nursery, the walls are probably 'greige' but we have similar safari decals for the walls (ordered mine from the US and they arrived pretty quickly...just got to address the daunting task of getting them on the walls when furniture arrives).

Had 2nd nct class last night. I was so tired after a 430am wake up and barely said a word! We covered what the baby is doing during birth and also what to put in hospital bags. Need to start getting that sorted!

I am so over work now. I am normally very career driven but I just feel like I'm waiting to go off. Worked out that I basically have the equivalent of 9 weeks left but that's split by holidays. So essentially 3 blocks of 3 weeks which doesn't sound too bad. Also interviewing for my mat cover which is a bit weird! I want someone good for my team but not too brilliant in case they don't want me back!

KayTee87 · 12/04/2016 07:36

smallplainblonde ive had the rug for a while, currently it's in my sunroom which I'm going to turn into a playroom so think it will be safer in the nursery haha. I can't remember just now where it was from. I actually think my mum might have got me it so I will ask her later :)
mrs I'm working til 36 weeks then taking annual leave until my due date when I start my mat leave. I'm also dreaming of a couple of weeks of sun but I doubt it, 15 degrees is a heatwave here Grin
puzzle sounds rotten :( defo get yourself a treat to cheer yourself up. I think you can have runny egg as long as they have the lion stamp on them btw :)

I think grey must be the in thing just now. Our dining room is grey and hall grey and white but darker than I will go in nursery.

I'm currently feeling better than I have done because I finally banished the heartburn. I didn't realise you were allowed omeprazole but went to the pharmacist and she said in certain strengths it's fine so bought myself some. What a difference!!

Have my appointment with the diabetic nurse at 1000. Feel really nervous.

KayTee87 · 12/04/2016 08:20

Ikea trip seemed to go well. We got a day bed which it seems a lot of you are going for too. Was apparently quite tricky to build, still need to do the drawers but it's looking good so far. Going for a fairly plain room so that we can accent it with toys and keepsakes. Will get some nice cushions for the day bed, and a few pictures on the wall. Also planning a few shelves in the corner above the bed. Cot is from Babies R us and the desk in the corner will be our changing table (upcycled - planning to white wash it and build a bookshelf on to the side of it).

Re stretch marks - I've been using Asdas bump butter which seems to be working so far.

Had an awful night sleep last night, just couldn't get comfy. Feeling pretty rough this morning.

Morning all ,
Speak no words - hope u enjoy seeing ur lil one again today ! Grinx

Youandme- good luck for today , try not to be nervous I'm sure the nurse will b lovely and u will b well taken care of X hope it goes well for h today X
Kaytee- loved the nursery pics ! Gorgeous !! Unfortunately our lil one will be sharing with his big sis until we manage a move ! Her room is Millie and Borris and nuetral lol so I'm sure he won't mind ! X
Glad the heartburn has gone Smile

We don't have a name picked yet , both have different ideas at the moment , hope a super name flies out of somewhere and hits us in the face and we both agree before baby arrives lol

We are also currently potty training our 2 ur old DD , weekend was tough but she seems to b really taking to it now Grin would b really nice to have one less nappy to change when her baby brother arrives Smilex

Is anyone else having anxieties about other siblings when the baby comes ? I'm worried DD doesn't understand at all and struggles X
We try and talk about baby and how she can help but I suppose we won't low until the time ( I'm so nervous and worried for her little feelings ! ) Confused xx

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 12/04/2016 09:23

FFS, left myself ages to get to the hospital as it's two buses away and I haven't been before. First of the buses is diverted because of an accident and stuck in a snare of traffic! Really worried I won't get there in time now!

Vikkijayne2507 · 12/04/2016 09:39

sunny those drawers are a b**ch to make we have them. They are really heavy when full if you ever want to move them and they are huge.

Leg pain eased off likely to not walking much as its test week in my school and I sit marking other tests for 3+ hours

photographerlady · 12/04/2016 09:58

4 pages already! I am really going to have to work this thread into my morning routine. Nothing to eventful on this end. Spent the weekend with the NCT mums (july 2013 class) and the toddlers were wrecking a friends house and garden on a late easter egg hunt. 2 of the 6 of us have their second baby. DD has no interest in babies but she tried to play cars with them for a few minutes and my friends asked her fishing questions like "do you like babies?"

Gx91 good luck on the potty training. It will be such a relief to get it started before LO arrives. Few of my NCT chums that didn't are now trying to push their 3+ year olds who show no interest. If you need any advice on bare bum let me know. All children are different but worked wonders for us.

Gx91 · 12/04/2016 10:37

Thanks photographerlady! Seems to be going well at the moment but j know it could all change or she may lose interest , il bare bum that in mind Grin xx

You and me - hope u get there on time ! That's typical eh , don't stress u could always call in and let them know u might b a little late x

Jem01 · 12/04/2016 14:11

Thom it was £240 so not cheap by all means but parents gave us money towards it as a gift

Good luck with your appointment today Youandme

Thanks for all your recommendations on stretchmark creams! Will give them a try!

Bel I totally know what you mean, I'm so over work too. Ive got 7 weeks left at work to go and can not wait!!

Lovely weather in London today makes me feel excited about the summer ahead Smile
