Sorry, another one here who dropped off the last thread. I'm still here though and enjoying following everyone's chat!

I'm pretty organised here to be honest. The nursery is nearly finished, still lots of bits and bobs on my mothercare list to get but I've still got plenty of time left.

We've been suffering with illness over the past few weeks, DS and DD have been really poorly with a flu type virus and DH and I have had stinking colds.

My painful crotch has progressively got worse so I'm now officially in the SPD gang. Saw physio last week and was given a support belt and exercises to do but I'm not expecting a miraculous recovery.

Even though it has its definite downfalls I too feel like this pregnancy is going too quickly. I love feeling bean bouncing around and will miss my bump when it's gone. This will be my last pregnancy so I'm making sure I cherish the special moments and grit my teeth through the shite bits.

Marking my place! 28+3. Ahh!!

We also swaddled ds1 from about a month which felt like magic and co-slept for naps. Still co-sleep for naps now at 16 months, it's the only time I get any cuddles now !

AnnaT45 · 10/04/2016 19:59

Hey girls! Wow so chatty this weekend, I love it! Hope you're all doing well?

I had a great weekend spent yesterday in London with friends and DH did the night with DD whose sleep is quite frankly dire so I'm shattered. How will I cope with two Hmm?
Got some new jeans from topshop, they are mega comfy, best I've had! Its these ones
m.topshop.com/h5/product?productId=20916494

I've been eating like a pig this weekend though. Making a salad for work tomorrow to try be good.

Loving all the nursery chat. We won't be sorting till we move. Have the mortgage company doing the survey tomorrow. So hopefully we are on our way to get the approval, I can't take this stress!!!

Has anyone else get really sore boobs? Mine are really hurting almost like I'm engorged. Worried I'm going to start leaking milk soon!

AnnaT45 · 10/04/2016 20:01

Sorry I posted too soon again. I'm such a mum on my phone Grin

DD had a Moses basket but would only really sleep on me for a while. We still co sleep now but not all night just from 3 onwards. I never thought I would but it's the only way I get sleep! I'm all about the survival these days.

Good luck to all of those getting to the third trimester. I'm just 24 weeks so bringing up the rear!

AnnaT45 · 10/04/2016 20:04

Sorry just found a pic of DD's nursery from estate agent and thought I'd share. We didn't know what we were having so went neutral. I then added pink curtains when she arrived. I'll prob do something similar for this one.

Lulabells · 10/04/2016 20:46

Hello ladies! Just marking my place on the new thread. I am very jealous by all the nursery talk. We don't have a nursery to decorate this time as we are moving house before the baby arrives (hopefully ....like Anna we are at the hands of mortgage companies at the moment). Our new house is only 2 bed currently until we finish the already built extension. The master bedroom is huge though as used to be 2 rooms so plenty of space for cot, rocking chair etc.

I'm not as far along as a lot of you but this weekend pregnancy has suddenly hit me. My bump is starting to feel uncomfortable, my back is aching and it's all becoming a bit of an effort. I'm now counting down the weeks till maternity leave (11 weeks to go!). Grin

Enjoy decorating the nurseries everyone.

24 + 5

julfin · 10/04/2016 21:04

Hello ladies!

You are absolute gems. Advice on car seats and sleeping arrangements is invaluable. Have been diligently screenshotting it all and will do some bumper shopping in May/June.

Loving hearing about all the nursery planning! We don't have that luxury/pleasure/stress(?) in our little one-bed apartment but I am enjoying living vicariously through you all! Can't wait to see lots of photos (please) as the nurseries all fall into shape. In the meantime I'm just praying for a sunny/warm summer so I can spend my mat leave in the London parks! There are some lovely outdoor spaces near us, so fingers crossed!

Goodness knows where we'll put all the baby stuff... Need to do a big clear-out and trip to the charity shop as first priority, I think.

Someone else mentioned sore boobs (or "norks" - another great piece of vocab for my list!). Mine are a bit sore. But actually the thing I'm really freaked out about is weird bobbles on them. As of today I've got a dark brown bobble (about 1mm in diameter) on the nipple itself. And various other pink or pale brown bobbles on the areolas. Is this normal? The dark brown one is particularly weird/noticeable because my nipples are pale pink. And also it's sore and itchy. Some reassurance, please? (And will this go away?) Thank you!

Thanks to those of you who have bigger problems or MWs being rude Sad

Only ten weeks of work until mat leave Smile and in my head I'm still kidding myself that looking after a baby will be less stressful/exhausting (please don't disillusion me - let me enjoy my happy naïveté while it's still going strong!)

Hope you all had a nice weekend, and have a good week!

julfin · 10/04/2016 21:05

Ha ha Lulabells, snap! (But you can clearly type faster!)

minieggaddict · 10/04/2016 21:42

Ah found you!

You are all so organised! I did get dds room sorted before her birth but we have to sort out some diy building work downstairs so that this baby actually has a room let alone any furniture or paint on the walls lol. I don't know if its cos this is my second but I just don't feel a rush to get sorted. I've done a baby clothes swap with friends so they've got girls stuff and I've now got about 6 bags of boy's clothes all needing a sort out. Started picking up some practical things for my hospital bag but otherwise leaving it til mat leave (might just be relying on Amazon then lol). Bluebell - I've been following your storage dilemma as we're in a similar position in that the man cave /office will be the baby's room. We've got no option but to get rid of stuff and make visitors sleep on the airbed in our front room. I'm hoping dh will realise how annoying his gaming collection is & hide it all in the loft or ebay it (but that's something I've dreamt of for the last 15 years so prob ain't happening any time soon).

I'm another one getting sore bump and been waking up with sore boobs... Feels like I'm leaking but they're not yet. 29 weeks tomorrow & feeling a bit like a tortoise stuck on it's back. and I'm suddenly hungry most of the time but can't actually eat much in one go. Made dh fetch me an apple while in the bath then a magnum when back downstairs and now mini eggs. Oh dear.

Cookiesandcoffee · 10/04/2016 21:44

anna your nursery is beautiful! Once ours is finished I will post but it's nowhere as nice as this. The wall still needs a wall on the frame so it's not pretty at the moment

hopes really sorry to hear about SPD. Hope the support belt helps some what? And rubbish to the lurgies in your household- I'm really hoping we are over the work in this household now. You do sound very organised well done!

cheery I never used the Moses basket for 6 months but mine were long. Would have otherwise. They loved it though and hated a crib. Was really hard getting DD2 into the cot and co slept for a while Hmm as much as I would love a snoozepod type thing, it's too much money for us to justify sadly. I did used to make a 'make shift' caccoon type thing with blankets, and then I had a swaddle pod (which is just a jersey fabric but with Velcro to hold them in place) which was a god send. Some suggest even putting the Moses basket in the cot to aid transition. But all babies are so different it's hard to predict in my experience

beautician you must feel so good post pampering! You inspired me to slap a bit of tan on post shower. No chance of lady garden preening here though , you're so good. I'm 'out of sight out of mind' Blush hope you have a lovely time away and you'll look great/radiant

Talking of which indians you look great!

Have started bouncing on my ball tonight ladies! I keep getting stuck on the sofa Confused and causes me so much back pain I thought it was best!

Bluebell20 · 10/04/2016 21:59

Just a quick hop in, ladies, as I have just finished working and am absolutely knacked! Will reply properly over the next couple of days. but just wanted to say YES to the sore boobs. Specifically, I have sore nipples. Specifically, the very tips of them! To the point that it feels like a shooting pain if they catch wrong against my clothes. It's bloody horrible and I think I am going to buy some nipple cream and start using it right away just in case it helps.

julfin I always have bobbly bits on my areolae... I think they are called Montgomery glands? Their job is to secrete oil to protect the nipple, so I guess it would make sense if they become more prominent in pregnancy? I have one that has really swollen up on the underside of my nipple, and did so at about 13 or 14 weeks - it is bugging me. If you are concerned about skin changes on the breast/nipple though, you really should speak to a GP. I did when mine changed quite a bit at that 13/14 weeks mark. Best to check!

mini oh dear, I wonder if my husband feels the same way about all my books?! I've got to say I am really thankful that my husband doesn't do video games at all - it would drive me potty!

Anna your nursery is absolutely stunning - thank you for sharing. Inspiration!

Bel aren't you lovely, having your parents live with you! Hope they can help you out lots!

Indians gorgeous bump pic.

Hopes I hope you feel better soon!

Okay, sorry if I missed anyone but bedtime for me...

SunnyScot89 · 11/04/2016 08:53

Wow, what a chatty bunch! Took me ages to catch up.

Loving all the nursery chat. DH is away to Ikea tonight with his dad to get all the furniture then I get to do all the frilly soft furnishing bits. Looking forward to being able to do my hypnobirthing in the nursery and get everything looking perfect for him arriving.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 11/04/2016 09:38

Tip for anyone who buys a Stuva changing table from IKEA: do not build the unit and only then open the separately packaged drawers! DH discovered that the instructions for the main unit didn't say that if you are putting in drawers you need to put it together slightly differently, and he ended up having to undo some of what he'd done. He wasn't impressed! He also thought it was more difficult to put together than most IKEA furniture.

Jem01 · 11/04/2016 10:44

Thanks for the new thread Eliz can't believe we're heading into the 3rd trimester!! Loads to catch up on!

Hope everyone had a good weekend? On Saturday we had our 3D scan at St Thomas which was fantastic. Baby was playing with the umbilical cord and kicking lots, such an incredible experience.

So exciting hearing about all the nursery planning! We've just had the walls replastered so waiting for it to dry before painting.

Bluebell ikea is fab for space saving ideas and like the others have mentioned a day bed is good esp the storage underneath that comes handy. Check out their website for ideas too.

Lovely nursery Anna is that the lulworth cot? We have that!

Hopes sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well, hope you feel better soon. And Puzzle glad you're feeling better.

loopy my bump is so big feels v uncomfortable sleeping for me too. I dread to think what the next few weeks will be like!!

Indians lovely photo and loving the dress too! Where is it from?

youandme thanks for the reminder - just downloaded the squeeze app!

Gx91 congrats on the news and welcome to team blue! :-)

Anyone using stretch mark creams they can recommend? Or are stretch marks something I'm just going to have to accept?!

27+3

July 2016 Babies (8) - 3rd trimester here we come
Gx91 · 11/04/2016 10:57

Thanks gem ! Lovely picture of ur son !
I use " mumandme" cream from boots , it's a tenner a tub but I found it really good last pregnancy so using it again this time ! Also makes ur skin baby soft Smile X

Cookiesandcoffee · 11/04/2016 11:00

Eekk today is 'third trimester' day for me. Smile

jem I personally don't believe that the stretch mark creams work so I don't spend lots of them. I just moisturise daily with the palmers coco butter stuff to help with itching and dryness. Your scan picture is amazing! And making me really jealous. We had one last time which I justified as a birthday present but this time money sadly won't stretch. Unless anyone knows of a bargain in the South?!

Eekk congrats gx and welcome to team blue!!

julfin I agree with bluebell . Breasts change so much in pregnancy but I'm sure any medical profession would happily check it out and put your mind as rest.

sunny I hope DH IKEA shop went well. I'm such a control freak I do everything like that- fitting my huge Hemmes (?!) chest of drawers in my car single handedly last month was fun Hmm exciting about hypo birthing too!

Thinking of you setting off on your hols today beautician I hope the rain hasn't dampened your spirits ( most miserable day where I am)

28 weeks today

Vikkijayne2507 · 11/04/2016 12:56

Lovely scan pic.

I have palmers stretch mark cream, it won't stop them I'm afraid, however you can barely see mine anymore so I think it helped in moisturising my skin last time and I love the shell I won't be. Buying more when it's gone though but it's my little luxury atm as it makes me feel lovely

dats · 11/04/2016 14:23

Cookies depends where in the south you are! I had an early scan at a place in Battle, East Sussex but that's a bit of a random location! But it was £65 rather than the £99 I paid last time in Hove.

primarynoodle · 11/04/2016 15:45

Wow that scan pic is so baby like!

Loving the nursery chat. Im like some of you - nowhere to put guests! We have now decided on the following:

Ikea day bed that pulls out to be a double AND has 3 mahoosive draws for storage in the babys room - this will be a guestbed/night feeds of we have a bad sleeper bed for now but will eventually become babys bed and will hopefully be good for sleepovers etc a few years down the line. Its the only space saving solution we can come up with at the moment that allows for guests too!

julfin · 11/04/2016 16:51

Thanks Bluebell and Cookies. Yes I have bumps normally but not like this and not in different colours. As you say, it's probably fine but worth checking. I'm due for a MW appt next week so will ask then. Thanks.

Jem, I did some questionable, Internet-based research about stretch marks a while ago, and there seems to be more correlation with age than with creams - i.e. youthful skin tends to be affected more and sadly there's not much you can do about it apart from being glad that you've got nice youthful skin Smile. No harm in moisturising but it probably won't stop the stretch marks, so not worth spending a fortune.----

KayTee87 · 11/04/2016 16:52

jem that picture is amazing! I think I will go for a 3d scan now!

Indians you look amazing, very neat still!

We've decided on decor for our nursery now. Walls will be pale grey, furniture is white (nursing chair white and grey),have a big fluffy white rug I will put down too. Have ordered the stuff in pictures (except the lamp in case we change our minds about name).

Aww Kaytee that picture looks lovely and so peaceful! Am jealous!
Are you declaring your chosen name or not yet? We're probably going to have a boy J as well although I'm still vaguely holding out hopes that I can persuade DH to go with Raphael, am trying some subliminal messaging Wink. And I believe Puzzle is having a boy J too. Popular Smile
